The story Confession occupies a special place in M. Gorky’s creation. It was conceived and written during a period in which he of searched for God. According to the writer’s plan, the work tells us of a person who walks in holy places, lives in monasteries and searches for God. In reference to the plot of Confession, it is worth noting that it was based on real sources, including the life of Gorky himself. In a way, the narrative was the result of the philosophical and artistic inquiries of the writer at the turn of the century.

The article discusses legal regulations concerning archaeological research and searching for artefacts, including the requirements for issuing the relevant permits, funding for archaeological rescue excavations, and the issue of ownership of archaeological artefacts. The paper points out the inadequacy of many such regulations and their internal contradictions and inconsistencies. The proposed changes concern, among others: simplification of the procedure for issuing permits for archaeological research and searching for artefacts, restoration of the requirement to provide information on the persons who are to conduct the research in archaeological research permit applications, and increasing the possibility of rejecting such applications by Voivodeship Heritage Protection Officers, as well as the rules for archaeological research funding. Several changes to regulations on the ownership of artefacts, including those found during research and exploration, are suggested.

The development of the intelligent system for searching for plagiarism by combining two algorithms of searching fuzzy duplicate is considered in this article. This combining contributed to the high computational efficiency. Another advantage of the algorithm is its high efficiency when small-sized documents are compared. The practical use of the algorithm makes it possible to improve the quality of the detection of plagiarism. Also, this algorithm can be used in different systems text search.

A purposeful growth in efficiency of large industrial companies largely depends on a balanced decision-making concerning the content, the cost, and the quality of corporate projects to increase business productivity. A traditional project management methodology does not allow improving all project’s parameters simultaneously. This leads to difficulties in implementing the developed measures and in providing the planned productivity growth. To search balanced decisions in labor productivity projects it is suggested to use an integrated approach, focused on a range of efficient instruments from allied management fields. It is recommended to integrate project man-agement methodology with some instruments of strategic and innovative management, production systems development concepts LEAN, QRM and Agile, human resource and project portfolio management. A model of an integrated approach to labor productivity projects, which was developed and tested, is reasonable to use in large companies to develop hi-tech products and conduct organizational changes.

In 2020–2021, within the limits of Trójca – a medieval village located near a ford on the Vistula River that is today part of Zawichost – artefacts were sought with the use of metal detectors. Next, a survey excavation was conducted, resulting in the discovery of e.g. two silver hoards from the 11th and 12th c., single coins from the 11th–12th c. (over 140 specimens) and from later times, merchant’s weights, adornments, minor devotional articles and military accessories (especially from the 11th–13th c.) and many other artefacts. Their discovery makes us suspect that Trójca was one of the most important supralocal trade centres of Lesser Poland in the early Middle Ages. The conducted excavations and research are only the first stage for future archaeological prospections to be conducted in Trójca and will be continued in the years to come.

In the middle of June 1927 a few inhabitants of the village of Gaj (10 km from Wyszków; central Poland) witnessed a meteorite fall. The solid fell into a swamp, which made searching for it very difficult. Searching work was held in the years 1957-1958, 1981-1982, 1990 and 1996. Present searching, which was started in 2005, still has not led to the meteorite finding.

The article presents selected views of Hans Tietgens, one of the most important representative of adult education research and practice in Germany in the second half of the 20th century. In Tietgens' conception the constitutive feature of adult education is a search. The adults in a disorientation situation are searching for a possibility of organized learning in order to recover the orientation and certainty. The planning of education offers is a kind of searching too. There is the point to meet individual needs and social demands. The people searching for a suitable offer can go wrong so they need help and the correct planning of offers should make easier the searching and finding process. The participants oriented adult education and professionalism make possible the each other finding of the searching people and an offer. According to Hans Tietgens adult education offer should be addressed to all social groups. He underlined the importance of using biographic research in adult education that helps to understand individual cases what is the basis of adult education. Hans Tietgens died in Mai 2009, he was a researcher and practitioner whose work has had a great influence on the development of adult education theory and practice in Germany.

Opis:
The article features an architecture concept of a system to search for information in text documents with the use of natural-language queries. The basic element of the proposed solution is the application of query expansion as a method to improve the quality of achieved results. As there are no such tools for the Polish language, the authors proposed how to prepare suitable assets from input data for this purpose. The prepared system will be applied for information search in specialized documents, such as technical and diagnostic documentation of mining machines.
Artykuł przestawia koncepcję architektury systemu wyszukiwania informacji w dokumentach tekstowych, z wykorzystaniem zapytań w języku naturalnym. Zasadniczym elementem proponowanego rozwiązania jest wykorzystanie metody ekspansji zapytań, jako sposobu na poprawę jakości uzyskiwanych wyników. Ponieważ brak jest tego typu narzędzi dedykowanych dla języka polskiego, zaproponowano także sposób przygotowania odpowiednich do tego celu zasobów z danych wejściowych. Przygotowywany system znajdzie zastosowanie w wyszukiwaniu informacji w dokumentach specjalistycznych, jakimi są dokumentacje techniczne i diagnostyczne maszyn górniczych.

Artykuł jest propozycją czytania znanej prozy Iwaszkiewicza z wykorzystaniem nastawienia ekokrytycznego. Ta propozycja pozwala uznać za głównego bohatera tekstu nie ludzi i ich losy, ale las, w którym rozgrywa się akcja opowiadania. Autorka proponuje wydzielić w narracji kilka trybów konstruowania narracji o lesie: ekonomiczny, medyczny, symboliczny, estetyczny, z których każdy zakłada ludzką próbę zapanowania nad roślinnym żywiołem za pośrednictwem języka. Doznanie braku, wyrażone przez umierającego Stanisława, wydaje się tematyzować poszukiwanie nowego języka, za pomocą którego możliwe stałoby się włączenie człowieka w organiczną całość.
The article is a proposal to read Iwaszkiewicz’s well-known prose using an ecocritical attitude. This proposal allows the main character of the text to be considered not as people and their fate, but rather as the forest in which the action of the story takes place. The author proposes the separation several modes of constructing the narrative about the forest in the narrative: economic, medical, symbolic, and aesthetic, each of which assumes a human attempt to control the vegetable element through the language. Experience of absence, expressed by the dying Stanisław, seems to be the answer to searching for a new language, with the help of which it would be possible to include man in an organic whole.

The published source documents show the unknown details of the history of the search for royal regalia. The main part of them is the report madę by the director of the National Museum, Bronisław Gembarzewski, who sent it to the parish priest of Włodzimierz Wołyński. It includes the description and the explanation of the action carried out on the orders of the Polish government in 1920 in the local monastery. The aim of this action was to find the Polish kings' jewels taken from the Wawel treasury in 1794.

Purpose – The purpose of this article is to propose new concepts and a new order in terminology especially in regards to thinking about today's economy, i.e. the economy in the initial period of a crisis caused by the spread of the coronavirus. In addition, the authors propose the introduction of certain mechanisms that could not only support the economy, but also help the society deal with a new, unavoidable reality. Research method – Various research methods were used, including the critical analysis of the literature on the subject, historical analysis, the comparative analysis of functioning economic systems and tools of state interventionism used in times of economic downturns in Poland and other countries. Conclusions – Today’s economic crisis, in which the Polish as well as the global economy plunged, was caused by non-standard reasons, requiring the exclusion of the economic activity of entire industries. The effectiveness of fighting with this crisis will depend on how quickly we will be able to eliminate these restrictions and defrost the economy. Originality / value / implications / recommendations – the originality of the article is mainly due to its two advantages, namely the very topicality of the issues raised and the originality of the proposed new concepts recommended to describe today's economic processes.

In the publication of 1856 there was some information about the meteorite found in the vicinity of Lipno near Płock (central Poland). According to the article’s author it fell down about 1818. The publication also contained the meteorite chemistry, which was examined by A. Laugier in Paris. The current place of keeping the meteorite remains unknown. Unexpected epilogue.

Pytanie o istnienie Boga, możliwość nawiązania z Nim kontaktu i ewentualny wpływ Boga na  życie człowieka nurtuje ludzi już od  wieków. W  niniejszym opracowaniu podjęty został problem treści przepowiadania do poszukujących Boga. W  pierwszej części opracowania omówione zostało zagadnienie podstawowego zadania biskupa, którym jest głoszenie słowa Bożego. W  dalszej kolejności przedstawione zostały inicjatywy mające na  celu bezpośredni zwrot do  osób poszukujących Boga. Przykładem bezpośredniego zwrotu do osób niewierzących, jak również poszukujących Boga, mogą być listy biskupów Francji  – Proponować wiarę we współczesnym społeczeństwie i Włoch – List do poszukujących Boga. Omówienie etapów ich powstawania i zarysowanie ogólnej charakterystyki oraz analiza treści są kolejnymi elementami treści niniejszego opracowania.
The question concerning the existence of God, possibility to contact Him and a potential influence of God on human life has intrigued mankind for ages. This work focuses on the issue of the content of preaching to the searching for God. The first part of the work includes an analysis of the major task of a bishop, which is preaching the word of God. Further on the author presents initiatives aiming at  a  direct approach to  the searching for God. An  example of  a  direct approach to individuals who do not believe in God and the ones who are searching for Him are letters of bishops of France – Suggesting faith in the contemporary society and Italy – A letter to the searching for God. Analysis of stages of their writing and outline of their general characteristics as well as content analysis are consecutive parts of this study.
