The issue that we aim to investigate in this paper is related to the design of lexical resources which Polish university students use in the process of writing an academic text in French. In the course of the research, we concentrate on the transdisciplinary lexis composed of, on the one hand, cross-disciplinary terminology typical of scientific writings, and, on the other hand, of abstract, non-specialised vocabulary. In this regard, special focus is given to transdisciplinary collocations referring to scientific objects and procedures. The research is conducted on a corpus consisting of BA and MA theses written by Polish university students of French in Romance philology and applied linguistics faculties.The work progressed as follows. Firstly, the types of transdisciplinary collocations present in students’ theses were identified. They were then juxtaposed with the lexical resources gathered in the corpus of scientific texts in French (Corpus Écrits scientifiques en français). Finally, the manner in which students used the investigated collocations was analysed so as to identify the possible difficulties faced by non-native students of French. The objectives of this research are linguistic and didactic at the same time. Specifically, it aims to inventorystudents’ lexical resources, their scope and, as a result, to consider pedagogical solutions intended to enrich transdisciplinary vocabulary used in the process of writing scientific texts in university context. The analysis performed shows a weak presence of collocations containing scientific names. The students’ repertoire of lexical resources is relatively poor and not very varied. It is necessary to undertake more indepth work on the linguistic correction of the items mobilized.

Opis:
The rapid development of the society requires changes in technologies and methods of the educational process. Therefore, the implementation of innovative technologies aimed at individual approach, mobility and distance in education is necessary and inevitable. In this regard, modern higher education institutions must radically change their educational objectives, update the content of education, implement innovative technologies in the development of student personality as a subject aimed at developing a competent person who is creative in solving problems. Nowadays, the students and teachers are the most important figures in educational institutions who should work creatively, learn, improve themselves as well as the teachers must work to develop and improve methods of teaching and education, including interactive ones. The article is devoted to the problem of preparing foreign students of specialized specialties for professionally oriented innovative technologies. Problems related to various methods and techniques of innovative technologies are highlighted. Emphasis is placed on the process of professional foreign language training, which should be aimed at the development of creative personality, its self-improvement, the formation of socially active and independent people in the context of intercultural dialogue, the disclosure of creative potential. The basic principles of realization of the communicative approach as a communicative method of teaching speech activity in the specialty in foreign language classes (Ukrainian) are formulated. The main features of the presentation as one of the types of information processing of the text as a practical result of research conducted in the framework of interactive forms of learning. The stages of preparation of foreign students to create and conduct a presentation on the specialty in foreign language classes (Ukrainian) are considered. The importance of formation of foreign language communicative competence in the context of professional training of future specialists is proved, attention is focused on one of the main types of information processing of professional text – compression. The list of features of presentation as one of the types of compression of a scientific text is given, the main stages of preparation of foreign students for creating and conducting a presentation in the specialty in foreign language classes (Ukrainian) are analyzed. It is proved that teaching compression is the formation of students’ culture of working with scientific text, improving skills and abilities of understanding, analysis of scientific text and writing a secondary scientific text based on the disclosure of the semantic structure of the original text.
Стрімкий розвиток суспільства вимагає необхідності змін у технологіях та методиках навчального процесу. Тому впровадження інноваційних технологій, спрямованих на індивідуальний підхід, мобільність та дистанційність в освіті, є необхідним і неминучим. У зв’язку з цим сучасні заклади вищої освіти повинні докорінно змінити освітні завдання, актуалізувати зміст навчання, застосовувати інноваційні технології у розвитку індивідуальності студента як суб’єкта, спрямованого на розвиток компетентної особистості, яка підходить творчо до вирішення проблем. На сьогодні головними фігурами в освітніх закладах є студент і викладач, які повинні творчо працювати, вчитися, самовдосконалюватися, останні мають працювати над виробленням і вдосконаленням методів навчання і виховання, зокрема інтерактивних. У статті розглянуто особливості реалізації інноваційних технологій в освітній практиці та вихованні. Вказано особливості використання інтерактивних форм навчання. Висвітлено проблеми, повязані з різними методами та прийомами іноваційних технологій. Акцентовано увагу на процесі професійної іншомовної підготовки, який має бути спрямованим на розвиток творчої особистості, ії самовдосконалення, на формування соціально активної і самостійної людини в контексті діалогу культур, на розкриття творчого потенціалу. Сформульовано основні принципи реалізації комунікативного підходу як комунікативного методу навчання мовленнєвої діяльності зі спеціальності на заняттях з іноземної мови (української). Зазначено основні ознаки презентації як одного з видів інформаційної переробки тексту, як практичного результату досліджень, що проводяться в рамках інтерактивних форм навчання. Розглянуто етапи підготовки іноземних студентів до створення та проведення презентації зі спеціальності на заняттях з іноземної мови (української). Доведено важливість застосування інноваційних технологій у контексті професійної підготовки майбутніх фахівців; акцентовано увагу на одному з основних видів інформаційної переробки фахового тексту – компресії. Надано перелік ознак презентації як одного з видів компресії наукового тексту, проаналізовано основні етапи підготовки іноземних студентів до створення і проведення презентації за фахом на заняттях з іноземної мови (української). Доведено, що навчання компресії є формуванням у студентів культури роботи з науковим текстом, вдосконалення навичок та умінь розуміння, аналізу наукового тексту та написання вторинного наукового тексту, заснованого на розкритті смислової структури тексту-першоджерела.

В современной дидактике существует теория компетентностного подхода к обучению и преподаванию учебных дисциплин. Целью данной статьи является рассмотрение вопросов формирования языковой и профессиональной компетенции у студентов при обучении терминологической лексике неродного языка на материале текстов технической специальности. Провозглашаемый в качестве основного коммуникативный метод не решает проблемы обучения научному стилю неродного языка. Поэтому в преподавании профессионального русского языка должны соединяться несколько подходов: системно-структурный, направленный на усвоение норм языка, лингводидактический, представляющий методические приемы, коммуникативный, предполагающий понимание контекста, ситуации, компетентностный, связанный с вопросами соединения профессиональных и языковых знаний, и др. Такая многоаспектная работа с терминологией способствует охвату большого числа вопросов, направленных на детальное понимание научного текста и роли терминов в нем. Формальная организация научного текста рассматривается как поверхностный уровень, эксплицирующий глубинный смысловой уровень. Для реализации задач дидактических, лингвистических, прагматических предлагаются текст и задания, в которых употребляются общенаучные и технические термины, предлагается составление логических схем с целью проверки уровня понимания профессионально ориентированного текста, лексики и грамматических форм. Устная речь формируется посредством пересказа текста, беседы на профессиональные темы. Терминологическая работа строится с опорой на родной язык и с учетом терминологического поля, каковым является текст.
In modern didactics, there is a theory of competent approach to teaching and teaching educational disciplines. The purpose of this article is to consider the formation of linguistic and professional competence among students when teaching terminological vocabulary of a non-native language on the material of technical specialty texts. The communicative method regarded as the main method does not solve the problems of teaching the scientific style of a non-native language. Therefore, several approaches should be combined in teaching the professional Russian language: structural, aimed at assimilating the norms of the language, linguadidactic, representing methodological techniques, communicative, involving an understanding of the context, situation, competent, related to the connection of professional and linguistic knowledge, etc. Such multidimensional work with terminology contributes to the coverage of a large number of issues aimed at a detailed understanding of the scientific text and the role of terms. The formal organization of the scientific text is considered as a surface level that exposes the deep semantic level. To implement the tasks of didactic, linguistic, pragmatic, text and tasks are presented in which general scientific and technical terms are used. Logical diagrams are proposed to be complied in order to test the ability to understand professionally-oriented text, vocabulary, and grammatical forms, retell texts by specialty and talk about professional topics. Work with the text is based on the native language and takes into account the terminology field, which is the text.

Opis:
This article is devoted to the phenomenon of such quotation of foreign language lexemes whereby their form depends on the syntactic requirements of the language in which the main text is written, e.g. “dojść do соглашения”. Connections of this type can sometimes also be found in scientific publications, e.g. in articles in Polish describing the Russian language (lexical or grammatical issues, etc.) or Russian cultural and political realities. The study analyses this phenomenon on the basis of selected examples. In sentences quoting foreign language material in this way, the boundary between two languages (e.g. Ukrainian and Polish, Belarusian and Russian, etc.) and their respective syntactic systems is blurred.
W artykule omówione zostało zjawisko takiego przytaczania leksemów obcojęzycznych w tekście, w którym ich forma staje się zależna od wymagań składniowych języka, w jakim napisany jest tekst podstawowy, por. np. „dojść do соглашения”. Połączenia tego typu można czasami spotkać także w publikacjach naukowych, np. w artykułach w języku polskim, opisujących język rosyjski (leksykalnie, gramatycznie itd.) lub np. rosyjskie realia kulturowe i polityczne. W artykule zjawisko to zostało przeanalizowane na podstawie wybranych przykładów. W zdaniach operujących omawianym typem przytaczania materiału obcojęzycznego dochodzi do zacierania granicy pomiędzy dwoma językami (np. ukraińskim i polskim, białoruskim i rosyjskim) oraz ich systemami składniowymi.

This article is devoted to sociological reflection on the dialogue of scientific texts. It takes place by referring to some phenomena and theories widely discussed on the ground of sociology, which show the social character of intertextual references. The article provides arguments for the hypo- thesis that intertextual dialogue is a common activity that usually turns into a sequence of social activities. A sociological view of the issue of dialogue between authors of scientific texts leads to the conclusion that in the interaction that is being established there is a process of exchange connected with creating the image of the author in the academic environment. An equally important issue addressed in this publication is the normative regulation of interaction in intertextual dialogue.
Niniejszy artykuł poświęcony jest socjologicznej refleksji nad dialogiem tekstów naukowych. Dokonuje się ona poprzez odwołania do zjawisk i teorii omawianych na gruncie socjologii, które ukazują charakter społeczny nawiązań międzytekstowych. Artykuł dostarcza argumentów na rzecz hipotezy, że dialog intertekstualny to działanie wspólne, przeradzające się z reguły w sekwencję działań społecznych. Socjologiczne spojrzenie na kwestię prowadzenia dialogu przez autorów tekstów naukowych prowadzi do wniosku, że w nawiązywanej interakcji zachodzi proces wymiany, który związany jest z kreowaniem wizerunku autora w środowisku akademickim. Równie istotną kwestią, poruszaną w niniejszej publikacji, jest regulacja normatywna interakcji w dialogu intertekstualnym.

Purpose: The objective of this paper is to identify leading technologies in Industry 4.0. Design/methodology/approach: The identification was made with the use of text mining to explore the scientific texts in this field. Assumptions of own iterative method for analyzing scientific texts were proposed, with the use of R language, tokenization, lemmatization, n-grams and correspondence analysis. The assumptions of the proposed method were used to analyze the 40 most often quoted articles indexed in the Web of Science. Findings: On the basis of the obtained results, 4 leading technologies were identified. These are Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, Cyber-physical System and Big Data. Originality/value: The article proposes an original method of identifying the leading technologies used in Industry 4.0. The proposed method is based on text mining and correspondence analysis.

Purpose: The objective of the paper is to use text mining to identify leading research domains concerning the smart city following an analysis of research articles with a high citation index according to the Web of Science. Design/methodology/approach: An original method is proposed for analysing academic texts using the R language, tokenisation, lemmatisation, n-grams and correspondence analysis. The author analysed fifty of the most cited articles indexed in the Web of Science from 2014 to 2019. Findings: The paper presents the advantages and drawbacks of the proposed method of analysing research publications. The assets include automation and repeatability of the analysis of a large number of documents and improved knowledge about links among the articles in terms of research domains. The disadvantage is the loss of information from diagrams and figures. The method identified two leading research domains related to the notion of the smart city, technologies and systems. The analysed publications were categorised by selected keywords. Research limitations/implications: Future work should include further refinement of the assumptions for the method, analyses of a more significant number of research texts and a narrowing down of the domain of the smart city. It is desirable to consider other functional domains of the city, such as energy, public health, environmental protection or transport. Practical implications: The proposed method can complement a standard literature analysis regarding the smart city. The leading research domains related to the smart city in the analysed articles were systems and technologies employed to improve how the city operates. Social implications: Text mining can be employed by various experts focusing on the smart city and constitutes a refreshing complement for other research methods, such as questionnaire surveys, interviews or observations. Originality/value The publication can be useful for researchers from various fields and managers seeking to create and use simple, useful methods and tools for analysing unstructured text documents for decision-making. The paper proposes a separate text mining analysis of abstracts and whole documents using n-grams. This yielded a more precise list of areas relevant to the smart city. The grouping was done using correspondence analysis of the fifty most cited articles indexed in the Web of Science from 2014 to 2019.

The aim of this article is to demonstrate the differences appearing in French and Italian scientific texts and their translations into Polish. The specificity of the scientific text causes enormous difficulties faced by novice translators. On the one hand, one must faithfully reflect the merits of work, and, on the other hand, take care of the appropriate style of the target text. As Stanisław Gajda [1982] states, each discipline produces a completely separate language termed “scientific sublanguage”, and the basic difficulty in the case of translation by people not familiar with the scientific language seems to be the recreation of the specific nature of the scientific language of the source text in the target text. The multidimensionality and interdisciplinary nature of scientific translation should also be considered because only on the basis of interdisciplinary knowledge can the translator choose the appropriate translation strategy.

This paper presents various comments and suggestions concerning the training of intertextual skills. This goal results from the fact that school didactics pays insufficient attention to intertextuality understood as a purely verbal phenomenon. The article focuses especially on the academic teaching stage since the preparation of one’s own statement based on the words of others is an obligatory skill for every student. The comments and proposals presented are arranged according to the different stages of work with someone else’s text.

The article presents the practice of subjectivizing scientific creativity by referring to the role of intuition in the creation process, introspective reports and comments on spatial information processing. One of the main emphases is placed on the interaction between the author’s sense of subjectivity with the idea generated and developed by him, as well as on how the reader senses this interaction. These findings became the basis for adopting assumptions about individual and disciplinary differences in strategy and the intensity of the subjectivization of scientific texts by creators and recipients. The article was prepared in a performative and dialogical formula.

Purpose: The paper presents an analysis of a scientific publication with regard to the frequency of words and n-grams. The research problem addressed was the question to what extent the text mining analysis of a scientific publication will allow to infer its content. Design/methodology/approach: The main research method is the analysis of tokenized text using word count functions, bigrams, and trigrams in selected sections of a scientific publication. The results of text mining analysis were compared with the classic, non-automated text analysis of the publication. The presented study is a pilot project in the form of a case study. Findings: The proposed method of analyzing a scientific text using an analysis of the frequency of words and n-grams enables inference of the content of the paper with regard to the names of variables involved in the study, the statistical apparatus used and the key literature cited. It should be observed, however, that the discussed method does not make it possible to establish which variables are moderators and which are mediators. Originality/value: In this paper, the text mining technique was used differently in the discussed study than in previous works. The publication was not examined in its entirety, as previous researchers did, but text mining analysis was applied to individual parts of the paper, i.e. the part discussing theoretical foundations of the research and the part presenting the research method, research results, and their discussion. This allowed for obtaining more precise results regarding the content of the publication.

The article discusses linguistic methods for determining the images of authors of scientific texts. The theoretical basis of the study is a typology of points of view reflected in the text. The research method consists in detecting implicatures in the content of the text and determining their relationship to the author’s intentions. The image of the author is derived on the basis of the assessments, language means and the stated facts contained in the text. On the basis of implicatures, the content of which does not contradict the author’s intentions, his intentional image is derived. In the presence of implicatures, which most likely do not correspond to the author’s intentions, the perceptual image of the author is determined.

Opis:
The author analyzes the cognitive-discourse aspect of the semantic structur e of the treaty Nauka o tajně s(t): pokaęnїę (a translation from the Polish original) printed in 1671 by the imprimery of the Kyivan Cave Monastery. Found on the boundary line between theological literature and the secular genres, the Ukrainian scientifi c discourse was rather vague at that time; the text under consideration can be viewed therefore as a popular scientifi c one. The text is connected with the academic discourse through a complicated structure, typical of scholastic treaties, heterogeneous markers of the intertextuality, the use of indirect performative markers as well as markers of the prospection and retrospection. Its connection with the popular discourse is maintained through the elimination of authorship, the prevailing glossing rather than defi nitions of the respective terms. The dialogue model of addressing with the help of singular ‘you,’ which is common for preaching, is found in this treaty side by side with the inclusive ‘we.’ The treaty’s heterogeneous syntactic organization is marked by the combination of diff erent genres, namely, literature of practical purpose and sermons.

Opis:
The article covers the broad problems of the scientific works of Maria P. Kotyurova – professor of Perm State University, the leader of Perm Scientific School of Functional stylistics. The bibliography of Maria P. Kotyurova includes 7 monographs, 15 textbooks, more than 300 articles, in which the main questions of stylistics of scientific speech, semantic structure of scientific text, legal linguistics and many others are put forward and solved. Special attention in the article is given to the analysis of the key notions of Prof. Kotyurova’s stylistic theory, which are now generally recognised and fundamentally important in functional stylistics. Among these notions are scientific text extra-linguistic factors, epistemic situation, reference scientific text, scientific speech culture, principles of scientific text editing, scientist speech individual style, etc. As the most important achievements of Prof. Kotyurova the author of the article considers: the model of scientific text semantic structure developed by Prof. Kotyurova (the model includes three components of scientific knowledge – ontological, methodological and axiological); description of the basic scientific text categories – coherence, integrity, wholeness, accuracy, density, etc.; justification of a multidisciplinary (complex) approach to scientific text study; and studying of stereotypes and creativity in scientist communicative activity. It is noted that M. Kotyurova is distinguished by the ability to see the non-obvious but fundamentally important properties in a scientific text. The dynamics of the research interest of Prof. Kotyrova, from classical functional stylistics to anthropocentric and discursive linguistics, are analyzed. The author of the article underlines that, while retaining a commitment to the ideas of her teacher – Prof. Margarita N. Kozhina, Maria P. Kotyrova at the same time is an innovator in the development of modern functional stylistics and the application of new approaches to research text. The fruitfulness of Prof. Maria P. Kotyurova ideas was confirmed by numerous works of her followers both in Russia and abroad.

The author presents an outline of a complete, yet un nished, theory of style. The outline can make the foundation of a stylistic research program. A full scienti c theory possesses a structure within which one can distinguish three levels: 1) philosophical (ontological assumptions as well as epis- temological-axiological ones); 2) theoretical-methodological (a set of highly abstract notions and theorems which conceptualize and structure the fragment of reality that is described and explained); 3) empirical (a set of notions and descriptive-observational theorems, stating something directly about the examined fragment). By making reference to philosophical ontology the author accepts – on the ground of linguistic ontology – an assumption of four ways, ones which are mutually connected and constitute a one- ness: 1) concrete linguistic actions and their textual products; 2) language system; 3) individual consciousness of language, and 4) collective awareness of language. Beginning with the idea of style as a humanistic structure of text, one can respectively speak about the following: 1) the style of a concrete text; 2) the comprehensive style (precisely speaking about stylistic models in the common norm); 3) individual styles as components of the language consciousness of individuals; 4) collective styles as components of language awareness of given communities. Developing theories of style on the theoretical-methodological level requires considering the rela- tion between language-text-style and the world, man, society, as well as mind and culture. These relations impinge on the vision of style-related phenomena considered on the empirical level. The rich accomplishments of stylistics can be united thanks to the integrative power of a complete theory and the increasingly stronger integrative-holistic trend in the development of science, which is complementary towards the analytical-reductive tendency.
