    Opis:
    Since early 1990s the system of financing higher education institutions in Poland is based on the algorithm which binds the value of subsidy also with the performance. It is basically depended on the number and the structure of the students and scientific staff, but within the past years new factors have been introduced: grants acquisition and internationalization. The goal of the article is to verify to what extent the value of the subsidy depended on the performance of the universities. The test produced the positive outcome for the universities of life sciences and universities of economics, which were outstanding for the statistically significant change of the index.

    The interpretation of the law plays a specific role in the whole legal system. In the vast area of constantly changing provisions of administrative law, with all their numerous imperfections, this interpretation takes on particular importance. An interpretative decision may be a simple reflection of a provision’s content, or it may take a slightly different form determined as a result of decoding it in the process of interpretation. The interpreter of the law must be guided by the requirements of the law, and achievements of the general theory of law, it must be based on rational grounds that allow for a reasonable and fair balance of arguments that are important in each case. It is primarily the letter of the law, the place of regulation in the legal system and the functions and purposes assigned to the interpreted provisions that determine the result of the interpretation. In the process of applying the law, this result determines the content of a decision taken. It has a significant influence on the position of the individual bound by such a decision, also in situations where this decision may cause justifiable apprehensions about its fairness. The interpretation of the law ordinarily focuses on resolving doubts against the background of specific cases under consideration. The article presents such a situation. I describe controversies relating to the interpretation of one of the provisions formulating the conditions that must be met by a person applying for the title of professor. In this case, it is a matter of the conditions for achievements obtained by her in training academic staff. The assumption that these conditions had not been cumulatively met affected a decision of the Central Commission for Degrees and Titles to refuse the presentation of the candidate to the President of the Republic of Poland for conferral of this title. But is there always a legal justification for challenging the fulfilment of these conditions? I will try to answer this question in this paper.

    Pani Profesor Anna Zorska urodziła się 14 lipca 1947 r. w Dęblinie. Ma dwoje dzieci - córkę Paulinę i syna Witolda. Całe swoje dorosłe życie związała ze Szkołą Główną Handlową w Warszawie (poprzednia nazwa - Szkoła Główna Planowania i Statystyki), gdzie w drugiej połowie lat 60. XXw. podjęła studia, a na początku kolejnej dekady pracę naukowo-badawczą (1972-2017). Tytuł zawodowy magistra ekonomii Anna Żorska uzyskała w 1970 r. po ukończeniu studiów wyższych ekonomicznych na Wydziale Handlu Zagranicznego Szkoły Głównej Planowania i Statystyki w Warszawie. Już w tym okresie zaczęły kształtować się Jej zainteresowania naukowe, których inspiracją były seminaria magisterskie nt. analizy rynków zagranicznych. Przemiany i tendencje ekonomiczno-technologiczne zachodzące zarówno na rynku międzynarodowym, jak i w gospodarce światowej stały się - w późniejszym okresie pracy dydaktycznej i naukowej - głównym obszarem zainteresowań oraz badań.(fragment tekstu)

    В статье реконструированы условия, этапы и особенности процесса реэвакуации АН БССР. На основе публикаций и архивных источников показаны проекта возвращения работников и учреждений в Минск, рост кадрового потенциала минской группы Академии. Выявлены и показаны группы ученых, как стремившихся в кратчайшие сроки вернуться в столицу БССР, так и заинтересованных в продолжении карьеры в московских научных центрах.
    The article reconstructs the conditions, stages and features of the process of reevacuation of the BSSR Academy of Sciences. Based on publications and archival sources, projects for the return of employees and institutions to Minsk, as well as the growth of the personnel potential of the Minsk group of the Academy are shown. Groups of scientists who wanted to return to the capital of the BSSR as soon as possible and who were interested in continuing their careers in Moscow research centers were identified and shown.
    Artykuł rekonstruuje uwarunkowania, etapy i cechy procesu ponownej ewakuacji Akademii Nauk BSSR. Na podstawie publikacji i źródeł archiwalnych projekt pokazuje powrót pracowników i instytucji do Mińska, wzrost potencjału kadrowego mińskiej grupy Akademii. Zidentyfikowane i pokazane zostały grupy naukowców, zarówno dążących do powrotu do stolicy BSRR w jak najkrótszym czasie, jak i zainteresowanych kontynuacją kariery w moskiewskich ośrodkach naukowych.

    Opis:
    Job satisfaction, defined as an employee s attitude to work, is an issue that has been of interest to many researchers since the 1930s. The factors affecting job satisfaction are both subjective and situational. In addition to working conditions, economic and social aspects of work and the nature of performed tasks, situational factors also include determinants in the area of interpersonal relationships. According to the author of this article, interpersonal relationships are one of the key areas of job satisfaction. The quality of relationships with superiors, staff, students, superiors’ management style and feedback are all factors of great importance especially in the case of job satisfaction among academics. In order to determine which of these factors within the area of interpersonal relationships crucially determine the job satisfaction of the academics of the National Defence University (NDU), a study was conducted by the method of a diagnostic survey using a questionnaire technique. Based on the obtained results, the key factors that determine the job satisfaction of this group of employees were indicated, and the overall level of job satisfaction among the academics of the National Defence University was determined.

    The 21st century brings new challenges for the society and every human being. Although today’s Europe is in the process of strengthening and enlarging its economic and political union, it seems to suffer from a profound crisis of values. Therefore, it is very important to have a proper perception and understanding of contemporary challenges for education and pedagogy. This might results in going through the effective learning processes, which enable a human being to function properly in his/her private and professional life. For all these reasons, the author of this article shows various aspects of scientific and didactic activities undertaken by the academic staff of the Faculty of Theology, Section in Tarnów, which is an integral part of the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Cracow. A short historical sketch of establishment of the Faculty of Theology, Section in Tarnów enable to embed the academic work of this Faculty in specific realities and conditions.

    Emanuel Halicz – More than Scientist’s ProfileEmanuel Halicz (1921–2015) was a historian of the 19th century. In 1939 he began his studies at the Ukrainian university in Lviv. In June of 1941 he was evacuated to the Mari Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. From 1943 a political officer in the Polish people’s Army. A member of the Polish Workers’ Party/Polish United Workers’ Party. In 1950 he earned a Ph.D. degree at the Jagiellonian University, Cracow, and was delegated from the army to the Institute for Training Scientific Cadres, where he was employed in 1952. From 1957 he was a lecturer at Feliks Dzerzhinsky Military Political Academy. In 1960 he became associate professor. A member of the committee of the Polish and Soviet Academies of Sciences created to edit and publish historical sources to the period of the January 1863 Uprising. He lost his job in the aftermath of March ’68. In 1971 he emigrated to Denmark, and was demoted to the rank of private. In 1972–1982 he was professor at Odense University, in 1982–1990 at the University of Copenhagen. He collaborated with the Polish émigré periodical Zeszyty Historyczne.

В 1950 направлен из армии в Институт образования научных кадров, с 1952 работник института. С 1957 преподаватель Военной политической академии им. Феликса Дзержинского. С 1960 – экстраординарный профессор. Член комиссии польской и советской АН, созданной для издания источников по периоду Январского восстания. В результате марта 1968 был уволен с работы. В 1971 эмигрировал в Данию. Был разжалован с полковника до рядового. В 1972–1982 гг. – профессор университета в Оденсе, 1982–1990 – Копенгагенского университета. Сотрудник эмиграционных “Исторических тетрадей”.

    The aim of the Faculty of Theology, Section in Tarnów of the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Cracow is a comprehensive and systematic study of God’s revelation in different periods and aspects of the life of the Church and a human being. In this article the author presents various aspects of scientific and didactic work undertaken in the service of science by the academic staff of the Faculty of Theology, Section in Tarnów. First, an acoount will be given of the scientific contacts (meetings, consultations, conferences, seminars, reviews) with the academics of various scientific and research institutions, both from Poland and abroad. Then, the new book series (nearly two hundred books in total), scientific journals and various publications will be highlighted.

It differed from Russian one in field scheme and structure, had its own managerial vertical. The historical and educational analysis of the problem under research is made on the basis of systems and structural, historiographical, cultural, historical reconstruction of knowledge, historical and national, historical and educational approaches. Main trends influencing specialists training through aspirantura (post graduate studies) in the socio political sphere, higher education, in the sphere of scientific activities, training and attestation of research and research pedagogical staff of higher qualification are grounded.

    W artykule przedstawiono ogólną charakterystykę działalności naukowo-badawczej i dydaktycznej Wydziału Górnictwa i Geoinżynierii. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na ofertę kształcenia, współpracę z innymi jednostkami, działalność kół naukowych oraz organizowane przez Wydział konferencje naukowe. W drugiej części artykułu opisano charakterystykę działalności naukowo-badawczej i dydaktycznej Katedry Ekonomiki i Zarządzania w Przemyśle. Przytoczono najistotniejsze informacje i dane ilustrujące potencjał dydaktyczny Katedry, liczbę studentów rozpoczynających oraz kończących naukę na kierunku Zarządzanie i Inżynieria Produkcji. Przeanalizowano również losy zawodowe absolwentów II stopnia omawianego kierunku. Opisano zasadnicze kierunki badań realizowane przez pracowników Katedry w ramach funkcjonującej struktury organizacyjnej.
    The article presents a general description of the scientific-research and didactic activity of the Faculty of Mining and Geoengineering. Particular attention was paid to the education offer, cooperation with other units, the activity of scientific groups and scientific conferences organized by the Faculty. The second part of the article describes the characteristics of the scientific-research and didactic activity of the Department of Economics and Management in Industry. The most important information and data illustrating the didactic potential of the Chair, the number of students starting and finishing education in the field of Management and Production Engineering were quoted. The professional life of graduates of the second level of the discussed subject was also analyzed. The main directions of research carried out by the employees of the Department as part of the organizational structure were described.

    The preparations for constructing a nuclear power plant in the vicinity of the Lake Żarnowiec started in the years 1972-1973. At that time it was proposed to locate an electric power system complex in the surroundings of Żarnowiec, consisting of a pumping-storage hydro power plant, a nuclear power plant and a high-voltage transformer station of 220/400 kV. The Żarnowiec hydroelectric power plant with a generating capacity of 680 MW started working in 1983 and it has been operating since that time with good results; whereas the construction of Żarnowiec nuclear power plant with a planned output of 4x400 MW was begun in 1982, it was stopped decisively in 1990. Gdańsk University of Technology and, in particular, the present Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering was a part of research and teaching potential for Żarnowiec nuclear power plant under construction in the years 1982-1990. In this paper the most important facts and achievements in the field of teaching and staff training in that period as well as the results of applied research required by the nuclear power plant under construction are presented. The experience gained in the course of research and teaching activities in the field of nuclear power engineering gives ground to include Gdańsk University of Technology into the new Polish nuclear power programme.
    Przygotowania do budowy elektrowni jądrowej nad Jeziorem Żarnowieckim rozpoczęto w latach 1972-1973. Powstała wówczas koncepcja stworzenia w okolicach Żarnowca dużego węzła energetycznego, obejmującego elektrownię szczytowo-pompową, elektrownię jądrową i stację rozdzielczą 220/400 kV. Elektrownia wodna Żarnowiec o mocy zainstalowanej 680 MW została uruchomiona w 1983 r. i pracuje do dzisiaj, osiągając bardzo dobre wyniki eksploatacyjne, natomiast budowę Elektrowni Jądrowej Żarnowiec o mocy docelowej 4x400 MW, rozpoczętą w 1982 r., wstrzymano ostatecznie w 1990 r. Politechnika Gdańska, a w szczególności ówczesny Wydział Elektryczny, przemianowany w 1996 r. na Wydział Elektrotechniki i Automatyki, stanowiła istotną część zaplecza badawczego i szkoleniowego dla Elektrowni Jądrowej Żarnowiec w Budowie w latach 1982-1990. W referacie przedstawiono najważniejsze fakty i osiągnięcia w zakresie kształcenia i szkolenia kadr inżynierskich w tym okresie, jak również wyniki prac badawczych, wykonywanych wówczas na potrzeby budującej się elektrowni jądrowej. Doświadczenia uzyskane w okresie prowadzenia badań naukowych i kształcenia kadr w dziedzinie energetyki jądrowej stwarzają możliwości czynnego włączenia Politechniki Gdańskiej do udziału w realizacji nowego Programu Polskiej Energetyki Jądrowej.
