The purpose of this article is to bring closer to the reader a cognitive perspective and the subject of security sciences interest in terms of Polish and Ukrainian. Security as a social phenomenon is perceived in a similar way all over the world, however its scientific interpretation depends on the formal structure of science in a given country and the classification of the research subject into a specific discipline. In the Polish terms, the scientific discipline of security sciences is specified, however in other coun tries the scope of security knowledge is classified differently due to different condi tions for the development and classification of science. In the Ukrainian terms, the discipline of security sciences is not specified, and secu rity problems are considered interdisciplinary in several fields of science, specialty groups and numerous scientific specialties. In the process of developing the article, an assumption was made to explain the prob lem: how are the scientific disciplines in Poland and Ukraine that conduct research on security interpreted? As a result of applying the method of researching the content of the subject literature and the continuous comparison of the perception of security from the point of classification of scientific fields in the Polish and Ukrainian terms, the similarities and differences were specified, which constitute the essence of the cognitive scope of security. The article is divided into two parts. The first part contains: “Abstract”, “Introduction”, “Research assumptions”, “Comparison of the determinants of the evolution of science in Poland and in Ukraine”, “Science about security in Polish terms”. The second part contains: “The sciences of security in Ukrainian terms”, “Comparison”, “Conclusion” and “Bibliography”.

The article attempts to address the issue of the need to distinguish sub-disciplines in security sciences. A scientific discipline is a basic and lowest-order category within the classification system of individual fields of science. Security science in Poland has been classified as one of many disciplines in the field of social sciences. The problem was formulated as a question: based on which criteria can sub-disciplines be distinguished in the security sciences? The aim is to identify the basic sub-disciplines in security sciences and to propose a criterion for their distinction. Critical literature analysis and research design were adopted as the primary methods. There is no established criterion for the division into individual sub-disciplines in Poland. The author proposes to distinguish sub-disciplines based on the following criteria: theoretical, practical, types of institutions, and levels of organization of different security sectors. It is based on the assumption that security sciences require a clarification of the substantive scope within sub-disciplines through which the discipline’s identity can be built up, and research can be carried out as part of further scientific work.

The psychology of music has a long tradition and continues to develop both in Poland and abroad. The current issue of Roczniki Psychologiczne [Annals of Psychology] is devoted to topics related to the scientific study of music, addressed by Polish scholars from different research units. In the current introductory article we aim to describe the context in which the psychological study of music develops. Assuming that the psychology of music is a science dealing relationships between music and human listeners, performers, or composers, we explain the meaning of that notion, presenting the characteristics of such relations. We also describe the beginnings and development of the psychology of music in Poland and abroad, introducing the main goals of this multidisciplinary and integrative science. Finally, we present the contents of the current issue of Roczniki Psychologiczne [Annals of Psychology].

General development and science have accompanied each other since time immemorial. There is no development without the latter and vice-versa. Development of science equals to the fact that humanity crosses another barrier of cognition and that more problems that have been troubling man are nowadays a lesser, if any, barrier. Due to that, with a great attention, we welcome any new discipline. Public policy is one those that have developed in recent decades. The author attempts to present the discipline on Polish ground. He takes a look at public policy, including questions it aims to answer, space it examines, and possible consequences of its emergence. The article delivers then various approaches to defining the discipline, but also an interesting analysis of threats, potential and future perspectives.

The article presents selected types of narratives that have accompanied the development of cultural studies for the past four decades. The paper presented basic information concerning a new scientific discipline in Poland: production engineering, which was created in 2010 within the field of technical sciences. Brief characteristics of 10 scientific – research fields was presented, separated within this discipline. There has been defined a subject of production engineering studies and tasks in the area of innovation. Basing on information included in over 40 papers within project Crossborder exchange of experiences in production engineering with the use of mathematical methods, it was presented examples of practical application of solutions developed within the discipline. The paper presented various classifications of developed solutions and pointed out their application value. It was confirmed that the elaborated solutions may have a wide range of application in various organizations. Summing up, the paper stated a large scope of solutions in production engineering and indicated its great value for development of Polish and Czech economy.
W opracowaniu przedstawiono podstawowe informacje dotyczące nowej dyscypliny naukowej w Polsce: inżynierii produkcji, która została wydzielona w 2010 roku w ramach dziedziny nauk technicznych. Zaprezentowano krótką charakterystykę 10 obszarów naukowo-badawczych, wyodrębnionych w ramach tej dyscypliny. Określono podmiot badań inżynierii produkcji oraz wyartykułowano zadania, jakie stoją przed dyscypliną w obszarze innowacyjności. Opierając się na informacjach, zawartych w czterdziestu kilku referatach przygotowanych przez polskich i czeskich naukowców na konferencje w ramach projektu Transgraniczna wymiana doświadczeń w inżynierii produkcji z zastosowaniem metod matematycznych, zaprezentowano przykłady praktycznych zastosowań rozwiązań opracowanych w ramach dyscypliny. Przedstawiono różne podziały opracowanych rozwiązań i zwrócono uwagę na ich walory aplikacyjne. Potwierdzono, że opracowane rozwiązania mogą znaleźć szerokie zastosowanie w różnorodnych organizacjach. Podsumowując, stwierdzono szerokie spektrum rozwiązań w inżynierii produkcji oraz podkreślono jej wagę dla rozwoju gospodarki polskiej i czeskiej.

Cel: Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie zakresu samodzielności i komplementarności dyscypliny naukowej – nauk o bezpieczeństwie. Metody: W artykule wykorzystano metodę analizy systemowej oraz porównawczej. W pierwszym przypadku poddano badaniu kluczowe elementy systematyki naukowej w celu racjonalizowania efektów już wprowadzonych zmian oraz prognozowania skutków zmian planowanych, jakie mogą się pojawić w dynamicznie zmieniającym się otoczeniu. W drugim przypadku porównano modele systematyki naukowej w ujęciu dynamicznym. Wyniki: W artykule przedstawiono prawne aspekty usytuowania nowej dyscypliny naukowej, jaką są nauki o bezpieczeństwie, w systematyce nauki polskiej. Omówiono schematy tworzenia systematyk podziału dziedzin i dyscyplin naukowych oraz podstaw formalnych ich usamodzielnienia się. W Polsce przyjmuje się, że cała wiedza naukowa pod względem złożoności obszaru badań i problematyki jest ułożona według pewnej hierarchii. Największą jednostką jest obszar badań, który jest dość niedookreśloną platformą aktywności naukowej. W jego skład wchodzą dziedziny naukowe stanowiące logiczną i treściową, zwartą część nauki. Główna aktywność badawcza koncentruje się w ramach dyscypliny naukowej. Wyniki tej aktywności kształtują specyfikę tożsamości i celów badawczych. W artykule zdefiniowano uwarunkowania genezy nauk o bezpieczeństwie wynikające ze wzrostu zagrożeń dla bezpieczeństwa w wymiarze globalnym. Następnie przeanalizowano zainteresowania problematyką bezpieczeństwa w innych dyscyplinach naukowych i wynikające z tego powodu trudności z jednoznacznym określeniem tożsamości nauk o bezpieczeństwie. Wnioski: Autor zaproponował ujęcie funkcjonalne nauk o bezpieczeństwie, a więc takie, w którym zasadniczym problemem jest analiza związku między stanem bezpieczeństwa a zagrożeniami w kontekście stopnia ryzyka. Podjął próbę egzemplifikowania problemów badawczych, które powinny się znajdować w obszarze zainteresowania nauk o bezpieczeństwie, a którymi są: teoria bezpieczeństwa, rodzaje bezpieczeństwa, podmioty bezpieczeństwa, zagrożenia. Dyskusji o tożsamości nowej dyscypliny nie sprzyja stawianie tezy o jej interdyscyplinarności. Bardziej właściwe jest traktowanie badania różnych aspektów bezpieczeństwa przez pryzmat multidyscyplinarności, czyli udziału elementów różnych dyscyplin naukowych w procesie badawczym.
Aim: To present the scope of independence and complementarity of the scientific discipline called security sciences. Methods: The article uses the method of systemic and comparative analysis. In the first case, the key elements of scientific taxonomy were analysed in order to rationalise the effects of already introduced changes and forecast the effects of planned changes that may occur in a dynamically changing environment. The second one compared models of scientific taxonomy using a dynamic approach. Results: The article presents the legal aspects of the location of security sciences as a new scientific discipline in the taxonomy of Polish science. The diagrams of creating the taxonomy of scientific fields and disciplines as well as the formal foundations of their separation are discussed. In Poland, it is assumed that all scientific knowledge in terms of the complexity of the research area and the subject matter are arranged according to a certain hierarchy. The largest unit is the research area, which is a fairly underdefined platform of scientific activity. It consists of scientific fields which constitute a logical and content-focused, exact part of science. The main research activities concentrate around scientific disciplines. Their results shape the specific characteristics of identity and research goals. The article defines the origin of this discipline resulting from the increase of security threats in the global dimension. Next, the interests in the subject of security in other scientific disciplines were analysed, along with the resulting difficulties resulting in the unambiguous identification of the identity of security sciences. Conclusions: The author proposed a functional approach to security sciences, where the fundamental problem is to analyse the relationship between the state of security and threats in the context of the degree of risk. He attempted to exemplify research problems that should be in the area of interest of security sciences: the security theory, types of security, security entities and threats. Furthermore, emphasising the interdisciplinary nature of security sciences is not beneficial for the identity of this new discipline. It is more appropriate to treat the study of various aspects of security through the prism of multidisciplinarity or the share of the components of different scientific disciplines in the research process.

Artykuł jest próbą przedstawienia procesu instytucjonalizacji rachunkowości w Polsce i określenia etapu jej rozwoju. Autor zwraca uwagę na związek między instytucjonalizacją rachunkowości a jej tożsamością jako nauki; wyższy poziom instytucjonalizacji decyduje o silniejszej tożsamości. W pracy posłużono się koncepcją instytucjonalizacji nauki Terry’ego N. Clarka. Autor zestawił zjawiska wyrażające proces instytucjonalizacji rachunkowości w Polsce i podjął próbę ich przypisania do następujących etapów tego procesu: samotny uczony, nauka amatorska, początek nauki akademickiej, dojrzała nauka i wielka nauka W pracy opisano poszczególne zjawiska wyrażające instytucjonalizację. Autor ustalił, że rachunkowość osiągnęła etap wielkiej nauki. Artykuł jest zaproszeniem do dyskusji w zakresie rozwoju instytucjonalnego rachunkowości w Polsce. Autor ma świadomość, że niektóre jego stwierdzenia mają charakter polemiczny i subiektywny. Dlatego też udział w tej dyskusji osób o innych poglądach będzie cennym wkładem w rozwój rachunkowości jako dyscypliny naukowej.
This article is an attempt to present the process of accounting institutionalization in Poland and to identify the stage of its development. The author pays attention to the relationship between the institutionalization of accounting and its identity as a science. The higher the level of institutionalization, the stronger the identity. The study uses Terry N. Clark’s concept of science institutionalization. The article presents the phenomena representing the process of accounting institutionalization in Po- land and made an attempt to assign them to successive stages of this process: the solitary scientist, amateur science, emerging academic science, established science, and big science. The author concludes that accounting has reached the stage of big science. This work is an invitation to discussion on institutional development of accounting in Poland. The author is well aware that some of his statements have a subjective and controversial character, so participation in this discussion of persons with other views will be a valuable contribution to the development of accounting as a scientific discipline.

Security sciences as a scientific discipline have formally existed in Polish science since 2011 and are still struggling to define their scientific identity, which is mainly due to their arbitrary creation and incorporating changes to them in a directive manner not resulting from the scientific assumptions of their development. To a large extent, the identity of security sciences is determined by an imprecisely defined subject of research and unformed research methodology, which researchers in security sciences uncritically borrow from other disciplines. The article emphasizes the need to clarify the structure of the discipline of security sciences and distinguish in it: methodology in security sciences, general security theory and detailed security theories.
Nauki o bezpieczeństwie jako dyscyplina naukowa formalnie istnieją w nauce polskiej od 2011 r. i nadal borykają się z określeniem swojej tożsamości naukowej, co głownie wynika z arbitralnego ich utworzenia i dokonywania w nich zmian w sposób dyrektywny, niewynikający z naukowych założeń ich rozwoju. W dużym stopniu tożsamość nauk o bezpieczeństwie determinuje nieprecyzyjnie określony przedmiot badań oraz nieukształtowana metodologia badań, którą badacze w naukach o bezpieczeństwie zapożyczają bezkrytycznie z innych dyscyplin. W artykule podkreśla się konieczność doprecyzowania struktury dyscypliny nauk o bezpieczeństwie i wyodrębnienia w niej: teorii poznania w naukach o bezpieczeństwie, ogólnej teorii bezpieczeństwa oraz szczegółowych teorii bezpieczeństwa.

Na podstawie analizy dokumentów i źródeł powstało opracowanie obrazujące nową polską dziedzinę nauki – nauki o rodzinie. Artykuł inicjuje dyskurs na temat nauk o rodzinie. Obejmuje sferę zagadnień prawnych, administracyjnych, organizacyjnych i instytucjonalnych. Dotyka również sfery edukacji w zakresie nauk o rodzinie oraz związków tego obszaru szkolnictwa wyższego z praktyką służby oświatowo-wychowawczej i społecznej.
The aim of the article is to present the basic issues related to legal changes in Polish science. The desk research method was the basic method used during the undertaken research. Based on the analysis of documents and sources, a study was prepared illustrating a new Polish field of science – family science. The article initiates the discourse on family science. It covers the sphere of legal, administrative, organizational and institutional issues. It also touches upon the sphere of education in the field of family sciences and the relationship of this area of higher education with the practice of educational and social services.

Korzystając z jubileuszu Szkół Tribologicznych zaproponowano w artykule rozważenie kilku kwestii, które zwykle, wypierane przez bieżące zadania, umykają uwadze tribologów. Przedstawiono ewolucję wiedzy o tarciu prowadzącą do wyodrębnienia się tribologii jako samodzielnej dyscypliny naukowej. Przyjęto przy tym dwa założenia wiodące: 1. Nie rozważano kwestii naukowości tribologii, reprezentując pogląd, że nie można mówić o naukowości jakiejś dziedziny działalności; naukowe lub nie mogą być efekty działalności, nie zaś sama ta działalność; 2. Przyjęto również tezę, że ewolucja tribologii wynikała z poznania atrybutów tarcia jako wszechobecnego zjawiska fizycznego i nieustannych wysiłków zmierzających do ograniczenia negatywnych skutków jego działania i w miarę możliwości wykorzystania go jako elementu procesu służącemu dobru człowieka. W artykule omówiono również zagadnienie, a raczej grupę zagadnień obejmujących zbiór poglądów prezentowanych przez tribologów i konsekwencji tych opinii dla rozwoju tribologii i jej pozycji wśród dyscyplin naukowych. W tej części artykułu rozważono niektóre kwestie metodologiczne tribologii oraz obecny stan jej struktur wewnętrznych. Przeprowadzone rozważania nawiązują do jubileuszowego charakteru obecnej Szkoły Tribologicznej.
Thanks to opportunity of Tribology Schools jubilee, in the article are presented the consideration of same issues that usually are driven out by current tasks and escaped tribologiests notice. The friction knowledge evolution leading to single out tribology as self-contain scientific discipline is presented. Deliberations are based on two assumption: 1. The tribology scientificity issue isn’t deliberated, because author thinks that discipline couldn't be considered as scientific or not, there are effects of discipline activities that could be considered in such way. 2. Tribology evolution resulted from friction attributes cognition and identification as omnipresent physical phenomenon and from sustained research aiming at limitation of friction negative effects or make the most of friction as the element of controlled process. The article also presents the issue, or rather group of issues encompasses tribologiests' views and such views consequences for tribology development and its position among scientific disciplines. In this part of article there are considered same methodological questions of tribology and current state of its interior structure. The presented deliberations refer to jubilee character of Tribology School.

Establishing the position of academic didactics — the didactics of higher education — among other scientific disciplines causes a lot of controversy and reveals a number of conflicting standpoints. Although traditionally assigned to the area of pedagogic reflection on higher education, academic didactics, according to some theses, is not a part of any specific discipline and is therefore somewhat scattered across various disciplines. Recapitulating different theoretical positions presented with reference to academic didactics, the Author points out a number of unsolvable and irreducible tensions arising in the area of disciplinary affiliation.

The article depicts John Amos Comenius’ selected ideas and their reference to the contemporary times. It is mainly based on his two major works: Great Didactics and Pampaedia, my own research papers and other available ones, as well as on some research conducted by education science students for their MA theses concerning John Amos Comenius’ teacher in reference to the modern teacher2. It focuses on Comenius’ idea of permanent education, which refers to contemporary education3. Nowadays permanent education is a key educational challenge in Poland, Europe and all over the world. The article is an attempt to define comeniology as an emerging scientific discipline and specify the areas and ranges of comeniological research, mentioning its authors and describing their output published in “Siedlce Comeniological Research Bulletin. pedagogy series”. I prove the evolutional character of comeniological research. The article also mentions my education science students’ interest in Comenius and their activity including the research conducted for their MA theses about Comenius, presentations and written texts intended to be published in “Siedlce Comeniological Research Bulletin, pedagogy series”.
