Opis:
The right information at the right time is crucial in task execution and survival on the battlefield. In the contemporary combat systems the optoelectronics system located in observational heads, periscopes etc. are responsible for providing adequate information for the vehicle commander, driver and gunner. The rapid development of photonic technologies and the process of battlefield robotisation make them become ubiquitous. Thanks to optoelectronics technology, the safety of the soldiers and their mental comfort can be based on not only the thickness of the armour plate, but also on active protection systems and the situational awareness. Systems of sensors installed on the accompanying vehicles -"drones" and ground platforms allow for early detection and location of threats. Remote-controlled unmanned armed systems are becoming increasingly popular and briefly will provide advanced fire units. Omnidirectional surveillance systems make transparent armour plate for the crew seeing what is happening around the vehicle. Countering observation and detection systems consisting of an active opponent camouflage -changing object signature This also applies optoelectronic circuits. In the article, the author presents the concept of surveillance systems and the construction of situational awareness and radio-electronic war with the use of optoelectronic systems and the problems that prevent the development of these systems in Poland. The aim of this article is to draw attention to the potential that these systems have. The author’s task is to underline the need of a long-term development program for these systems dedicated to Polish Land Forces.

Opis:
The study aimed to conduct an ergonomic intervention on a conventional line (CL) in a semiconductor factory in Malaysia, an industrially developing country (IDC), to improve workers’ occupational health and safety (OHS). Low-cost and simple (LCS) ergonomics methods were used (suitable for IDCs), e.g., subjective assessment, direct observation, use of archival data and assessment of noise. It was found that workers were facing noise irritation, neck and back pains and headache in the various processes in the CL. LCS ergonomic interventions to rectify the problems included installing noise insulating covers, providing earplugs, installing elevated platforms, slanting visual display terminals and installing extra exhaust fans. The interventions cost less than 3 000 USD but they significantly improved workers’ OHS, which directly correlated with an improvement in working conditions and job satisfaction. The findings are useful in solving OHS problems in electronics industries in IDCs as they share similar manufacturing processes, problems and limitations.

Opis:
Ergonomics as a discipline was in the past, is in the present, and will be in the future, an integrating constituent in occupational safety and health (OSH). This statement is based on the self-conception of ergonomics and the level concept of human work. It is further supported by the results of about 120 interviews with German experts involved in research projects of the last 2 decades and the results of a quantitative analysis of international literature. The most important themes of past research are compiled and a prognosis of research themes of the future is given. The future role of ergonomics is exemplified by its contributions to the further development of OSH management systems.

Opis:
The study aimed at reducing the occupational health and safety problems faced by the manual component insertion operators. Subjective and objective assessments, and direct observations were made in the printed circuit assembly factory. Simple and low-cost ergonomic interventions were implemented, that is, repairing chairs, reducing high workloads, assigning operators to a maximum of 2 workstations, confining machines that emitted bad smell and much noise, and providing finger work aids. The results of the interventions were reductions in operators’ work discomforts, that is, chair discomfort (by 90%), high work stress, and discomfort due to frequent change of their workstations. Their health hazards were also eliminated, that is, inhalation of toxic fumes, exposure to too much noise, and pain due to pressing sharp components.

Opis:
The article concerns the analysis of elimination of technical barriers for people with physical disabilities in one of the social welfare homes in the Silesian voivodeship. The following paper presents original projects created by the staff of nursing home: table for consumption and telephone booth. These solutions influence on improving the ergonomics of everyday consumption for both the physically disabled residents and their attendants, and comfortable and intimate telephone conversation with relatives on the property. This projects have been carried out on the premises of the institution by its workers.
