Opis:
Taking the sand-inrushing accident of the Selian No. 1 coal mine in the Ordos of inner Mongolia as the research background, four main factors of sand-inrushing, including sand source, channel, sand-breaking power, and flowing space, were analysed. The disaster formation process (SCPS) illustrated that sand-inrushing disasters in shallowly buried coal seams with soft surrounding rock have the characteristics of being significantly influenced by mining, the development of vertical overburden channels, and sufficient space for water-sand mixed particles to flow. Universal Distinct Element Code (UDEC) software has been used to reveal that the vertical cracks in the overburden between the coal wall and support undergo a process of development and expansion along with the cumulative stress of mining. This showed that the vertical fissure through the overburden is the main pathway for the disaster. Combined with the site conditions, disaster occurrence mechanism, and numerical simulation results, a comprehensive prevention and control technology based on the working face and roadway grouting to block the channel was proposed. It contains reasonable mining height and optimisation of advancing speed, so that safe and efficient mining of coal seams in shallow-buried soft surrounding rocks could be achieved.

Opis:
Optimal ship tracks computed via the VISIR model are compared to tracks recorded by the Automatic Identification System (AIS). The evaluation regards 43 tracks in the Southern Atlantic Ocean, sailed during 2016-2017 by different bulk carriers. In this exercise, VISIR is fed by wave analysis fields from the Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service (CMEMS). In order to reproduce vessel speed loss in waves, a new methodology is developed, where kinematic information from AIS is fusioned with wave information from CMEMS. Resulting VISIR tracks are analyzed along with AIS tracks in terms of their topological features and duration. The tracks exhibit quite diverse topological shapes, including orthodromic, loxodromic, and other paths with complex and dynamic diversions. The distribution of AIS to VISIR track durations is analyzed in terms of several parameters, such as the AIS to VISIR track length and their Fréchet distance. Model features of VISIR affecting the results are discussed and future developments suggested by the results are outlined.

Opis:
Modern ship bridges are highly-automated man-machine systems. Safe and efficient ship operations are dependent on the communication between humans and machines. This paper is dedicated to the general subject of integrated navigation and the specific field of the alert management on a ship's navigational bridge. It deals with investigations into the present situation on board of ships regarding the frequency and type of triggered alarms under real conditions. The conduction of empirical field studies is introduced and some of the gained results are presented and discussed. Finally the alert management concept of the performance standards for Integrated Navigation Systems (INS) is introduced and an approach for the reduction of CPA/TCPA alarm frequencies within INS/IBS is described.
