    Robert Sokolowski wrote that biblical words activate the presence of God. But can we speak of the “sacramentality of the word” analogous to the sacrament itself? This paper collects reflections on the “making present” of the word of God intra mysteriorum celebrationem. This issue is related to the theme of the relationship between past and present in the Eucharist, which was dealt with by Sokolowski. The article summarizes this philosopher’s views on the Eucharistic presence, in dialogue with which it then reflects on the presence of Christ in the word of God. From the “Passover-centricity” of the Holy Scriptures stems a kind of making present the anticipatory self-giving of God in the events to which the inspired texts testify. The liturgy of the word must lead to the climactic event of Passover and its sacramental making present. There can be no question of “two presences” of the Lord at Mass. The words of institution from the Last Supper have a role in the actualization of the Passover, while the inspired words are not in the same way “instituting” words. It is only in their inner orientation that they lead to the mystery of Christ present in the Blessed Sacrament.

    Robert Sokolowski pisał, że biblijne słowa uaktywniają obecność Boga. Czy można jednak mówić o sakramentalności słowa analogicznej do samego sakramentu? W artykule zebrano refleksje na temat „uobecnienia” słowa Bożego intra mysteriorum celebrationem. Kwestia ta wiąże się z tematem związku przeszłości z teraźniejszością w Eucharystii, którym zajmował się Sokolowski. W artykule zrekapitulowano poglądy filozofa dotyczące obecności eucharystycznej, w dialogu z którym dokonano następnie namysłu nad obecnością Chrystusa w słowie Bożym. Z „paschalnocentryczności” Pisma Świętego wynika jakiegoś rodzaju uobecnienie antycypacyjnego wydania się Boga w wydarzeniach zaświadczonych w natchnionych tekstach. Liturgia słowa musi prowadzić do kulminacyjnego wydarzenia Paschy i jego sakramentalnego uobecnienia. Nie może być mowy o „dwóch obecnościach” Pana w czasie Mszy Świętej. Słowa ustanowienia z Ostatniej Wieczerzy pełnią rolę w aktualizacji Paschy, zaś natchnione słowa nie są w taki sam sposób słowami „ustanawiającymi”. Dopiero w ich wewnętrznym ukierunkowaniu prowadzą do misterium Chrystusa obecnego w Najświętszym Sakramencie.
    Robert Sokolowski writes that biblical words activate God’s presence. However, is it appropriate to speak about the sacramentality of the Word of God analogous to the sacrament itself? The article presents reflections on the word of God “becoming present” intra mysteriorum celebrationem. This issue is related to the topic of the relationship between the past and the present in the Eucharist, which Sokolowski deals with. The article recapitulates the philosopher's views on the Eucharistic presence, then, in dialogue with him, it reflects on the presence of Christ in the word of God. The “Passover centeredness” of Scripture implies a kind of re-presentation of God's anticipatory self-giving in the events witnessed to in the inspired texts. The liturgy of the Word must lead to the climax of the Easter event and its sacramental re-presentation. There can be no question of “two presences” of the Lord during the Holy Mass. The words of institution uttered at the Last Supper play a role in the actualization of the Passover, while the inspired words are not in the same way “institutive”. Only in their interior orientation do they lead to the mystery of Christ present in the Blessed Sacrament.

    Teologia słowa Bożego stanowi jeden z wątków przewodnich całej teologii Josepha Ratzingera, a poniekąd jej zwieńczeniem jest adhortacja Verbum Domini, która będąc wprawdzie rezultatem kolegialnej refleksji nad słowem Bożym podjętej przez Synod Biskupów, nosi także wyraźne rysy osobistych poszukiwań i teologicznych przekonań Benedykta XVI. W artykule autor zwraca uwagę na najbardziej kluczowe, głównie o charakterze dogmatycznym, aspekty tego zagadnienia odczytywane w świetle adhortacji Verbum Domini. W jego pierwszej części wyjaśnia istotę i specyfikę faktu, że „Bóg mówi do człowieka”. Zakorzeniając się w działaniu Boga na rzecz człowieka, słowo Boże ma charakter sakramentalny. Dopełnieniem tego wymiaru słowa Bożego jest jego ścisła więź z działaniem Ducha Świętego, który wpływa na jego przekazywanie, spisanie oraz interpretację. W kolejnej części artykułu autor omawia kwestię przekazywania słowa Bożego. Określa również działanie Ducha Świętego w relacji do słowa Bożego. Trzecia część opracowania zajmuje się zagadnieniem odpowiedzi udzielanej Bogu przez człowieka. Charakter słowa Bożego domaga się od niego przede wszystkim wiary jako warunku i sposobu jego rozumienia oraz jej przeżywania zarówno w wymiarze indywidualnym, jak i wspólnotowym. Analiza poszczególnych punktów adhortacji w odniesieniu do teologii posoborowej pozwoliła na ukazanie zasadniczego znaczenia słowa Bożego w życiu każdego wierzącego, jak i wspólnoty Kościoła.
    The theology of the word of God is one of the leitmotifs of Joseph Ratzinger’s entire theology, and in a way its culmination is the apostolic exhortation Verbum Domini, which, although being the result of a collegial reflection on the word of God undertaken during the Synod of Bishops, also bears the unmistakable mark of Benedict XVI’s personal theological search and conviction. In this article, the author highlights the most crucial aspects, mainly of a dogmatic nature, of this problem read in the light of the exhortation Verbum Domini. In its first part, he explains the essence and specificity of the fact that „God speaks to man.” Rooted in God’s action on behalf of man, His word has a sacramental character. Complementing this sacramental dimension of God’s word is its close relationship with the action of the Holy Spirit, which influences the word’s transmission, writing and interpretation. In the next section of the article, the author discusses the transmission of the word of God. He also defines the action of the Holy Spirit in relation to the word of God. The third part of the paper deals with the response that might be given to God. The nature of the word of God demands, first of all, faith as a condition and way of understanding and living it both individually and communally. The analysis of individual points of the exhortation in relation to post-conciliar theology has made it possible to show the fundamental importance of the word of God in the life of every believer as well as the community of the Church.

    Źródłem zainteresowania w Kościele tematyką sakramentalności słowa Bożego jest ponowne jego dowartościowanie w liturgii. Papież Benedykt XVI w adhortacji Verbum Domini przedstawia ją w analogii do działania sakramentalnego. Artykuł ukazuje związek sakramentalności słowa z dzisiejszym, misteryjnym widzeniem liturgii. Traktowanie jej jako celebracji misterium Chrystusa ma bowiem swoje konsekwencje w postrzeganiu sakramentów, a w dalszej perspektywie – analogicznie – słowa Bożego w liturgii. Słowo i sakrament są więc tymi elementami liturgii, w których można dostrzec poszczególne wymiary jej misteryjności. Takie podejście do słowa Bożego przekłada się także na celebrację, w której konkretne zasady sprawowania liturgii słowa uwidoczniają sakramentalną moc słowa Bożego.
    The Church’s interest in the subject of sacramentality is due to the affirmation of the Divine Word in liturgy. In his exhortation Verbum Domini, Pope Benedict XVI presents the sacramentality as analogous to sacramental action. The article demonstrates a relationship between the sacramentality of the Word and the contemporary, mystery-centred vision of liturgy. The treatment of liturgy as a celebration of the mystery of Christ has consequences for the perception of the Sacraments and, on a broader plane, for the perception of the Divine Word in liturgy. The Word and Sacrament are then those elements of liturgy in which individual dimensions of its mystery character can be seen. Such an approach to the Word of God has an impact on celebration, in which specific rules of conducting liturgy manifest the sacramental power of the Divine Word.

    The issue of permanent genesis of the Church in the perspective of the Word of God is not an alternative to contemporary historic-redemptive understanding of the process of Church establishment but it is its widening. The thesis determined in the title has its foundation mainly in the reality of the Word of God and in a special relation of the Church and the Word, thus in the effective character of the Word of God and the action of the Holy Spirit in the Church. The expression of the constant origin of the Church out of the Word of God will be an endless God’s message to man and his answer to the Word of God in faith – in faith means communion with Christ, which finds its concrete expression in a constant dialogue with Him and in ecclesial realization of its communal (dialogic) direction. Manifestations of permanent ecclesiogenesis are also an anamnetic and participatory action of the Word, first of all in the liturgy (of the Word) and the convergence of the contents of Word of God with the deepest desires of man. The secondary manifestation is the Church’s ability to renew in the areas where she finds fulfillment and carries out her vocation (martyria, leiturgia i diakonia).
