    The paper discusses issues concerning the role of fairs as a factor activating regional markets. Fairs are regarded as an important element that is a stimulus of the cities and regions economic development. The arguments and examples proving an advantageous influence of fairs on regional market development are quoted notwithstanding the lack of concrete, denumerable evidence confirming the strength and character of such dependencies.

    W artykule przedstawiono w krótkim opisie powiązania występujące między rozwojem gospodarczym regionu, a stanem infrastruktury drogowej. Regionem wybranym do porównań i analizy badanych związków jest Polska Wschodnia. W pierwszej kolejności omówiono charakterystykę wytypowanego regionu. Następnie opisano ogólny stan zagospodarowania transportowego kraju w aspekcie infrastruktury drogowej. W ostatniej części artykułu omówiono kwestie wzrostu gospodarczego regionu w odniesieniu do jego sytuacji infrastrukturalnej, w związku ze stanem i rozwojem sieci drogowej. Przedstawiony materiał został zakończony podsumowaniem, w którym uwypuklono fakt istnienia badanych związków.
    The article presents, in the short description, a link between the economic development of the region and the condition of its road infrastructure. The region selected for comparisons and analysis of this compounds is Eastern Poland. First, the characteristics of the selected region were discussed. Next, the general state of transport development of the country was described, in aspect of road infrastructure. The last part of the article discusses the issues of the region's economic growth in relation to its infrastructure situation, in connection with the condition and development of the road network. The presented material was concluded with a summary, which emphasized the existence of the tested compounds.

    Procesy rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczego wyznaczają wyraźne zróżnicowania przestrzenne i strukturalne. W artykule przeprowadzono analizę i ocenę poziomu rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczego polskich regionów w 2009 i 2013 roku. Dla realizacji celu badań wykorzystano 38 cech diagnostycznych, które zostały usystematyzowane według następujących aspektów: demo-grafia i rynek pracy, poziom rozwoju społecznego, poziom rozwoju gospodarczego oraz poziom rozwoju infrastruktury technicznej. Przy wykorzystaniu metody taksonomicznej Z. Hellwiga dokonano grupowania województw, rozróżniając regiony o najwyższym, wysokim, niskim i najniższym poziomie rozwoju. Powyższe podejście pozwoliło na zidentyfikowanie zmian w proce-sach rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczego polskich województw w analizowanych latach.
    The processes of socio-economic development appoint distinct spatial and structural diversities. The article presents analysis and evaluation of the socio-economic level of development of Polish regions in 2009 and 2013. For the realization of the purpose of research, 38 diagnostic features were used, which were systematized according to the following aspects: demography and the labour market, the level of social development, the level of economic development and the level of technical infrastructure development. By using the taxonomical Z. Hellwig method, prov-inces were grouped distinguishing regions of highest, high, low and lowest level of development. Adopting such an approach made it possible to identify changes, both negative and positive, in socio-economic development processes taking place in Polish provinces in the analysed years.

    Purpose: The processes of socio-economic development always take place in a specific space and are not uniform. The modern conditions of regional development vary a lot with regard to the socio-economic development of the particular territorial entities. This is also true for Ukraine, the subject of this study and a current candidate for the European Union. This paper will assess the diversity of socio-economic development of the Ukrainian regions in 2020 and rank these entities according to the level of their development. Methodology: Z. Hellwig’s method of development pattern, which helps to order the regions in terms of their development, is applied to the evaluation of socio-economic development of the Ukrainian entities. The indicators adopted are systematised by the following areas: Demographics and job market, Structure of regional economies, Innovation, research and development activities, Technical infrastructure, Social infrastructure, and Condition and protection of the natural environment. Findings: The analysis helps to identify the levels of socio-economic development of Ukrainian regions and the region groups of the highest, high, low, and very low standards of development. The results suggest a great diversity of socio-economic development of these regions. Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya, and Kharkiv experience the maximum, while Donetsk and Luhansk the minimum levels of development. Research limitations/implications: The data published by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine for 2020 are used, excluding those for the temporarily occupied area of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol, and parts of the temporarily occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Further comparative research should estimate the effects of the changes on socio-economic development following the end of the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine. Continuing studies may also identify factors with a decisive impact on the regions’ attribution to the particular groupings. Social implications: The evaluation of the regional development levels may provide foundations for some strategies of socio-economic development, an explication of causes of regional variations, and a determination of potential for and ways of levelling down the existing inequalities. The diversity of development of the individual Ukrainian regions is important to its status of a candidate to the EU, granted on 23 June 2022. In connection with a closer cooperation between Ukraine and the EU, the results can provide knowledge about where to channel the EU funding aimed at the socio-economic development of the particular regions. Originality/value: The determination of the diversity of socio-economic development and positioning of the Ukrainian regions in this respect. The study can also be seen as a contribution to the existing research and serve the purpose of comparative analysis.

    Alterations of labour share in the national income are thought to have multiple, different reasons. Hence, it resulting diversification of tendencies of labour share can be verified against equally diverse, economic scales: global, national and regional. Consequently, the purpose of this article is to analyze this diversification of labour share in the national income, recorded in particular Polish provinces. The study includes global literature on labour share review as well as statistical data analysis of this factor. The investigation refers to two years, 2000 and 2009. Data gathered was approached using induction and descriptive statistics.

    The main aim of this paper is measure a level of changing infrastructure in logistics absorbtivneness contests for BRIC country. Goldman Sachs use the name BRIC, for a group of the faster growing economy in the world: Brazil, Russia, Indie and China. It was believed that this county can receive GDP on G7 level before 2041 year. The forecast was built by using some econometric models based some assumption. For our research we use some economic variable, next we analyzed dynamic changing of this variables by calculating some indices and averages levels of changing. We analyzed the level of indices and we observed the averages levels of changing. Our research we concentrated on size of the market, economic grow, changing of income and changing in demographics. Additionally we analyzed access to new technology which were imposed from quick changing on this market.

    This article discusses factors that determine socio-economic development in Poland. The discussion is held in a wide neopluralistic analytical perspective, which can be regarded as an effective tool for conceptualizing further research in this problem area. It seems viable to claim that the polarization and diffusion model in managing the socio-economic development of Polish regions will mostly bring benefits to the largest Polish urban agglomerations - in the wake of the polarization processes involved. A potential successful implementation of that model will depend on the rate and effectiveness of the diffusion processes.

    Opis:
    The economic development of the regions is determined by well prospering enterprises functioning in their area, including those with foreign capital. The tendency of foreign investors to starting a business in a given region of the country can be determined by the level of investment attractiveness, which is influenced by a lot of location factors. Therefore, it is important to examine the correlation between the level of investment attractiveness and the level of entrepreneurship in each region. The main purpose of the paper was to diagnose the relationship between the spatial structure of foreign-capital enterprises and the level of investment attractiveness of the regions. The analysis of interdependencies between variables was conducted for 16 Polish voivodships characterized by diversified level of investment attractiveness and a different number of new registered enterprises with foreign capital in the years 2009-2017.
    Rozwój gospodarczy regionów determinowany jest funkcjonowaniem na ich obszarze dobrze prosperujących przedsiębiorstw, w tym również tych z kapitałem zagranicznym. Skłonność inwestorów do podejmowania działalności w danym regionie uwarunkowana może być poziomem atrakcyjności inwestycyjnej, na którą wpływ ma wiele czynników. Istotne jest zbadanie korelacji pomiędzy poziomem atrakcyjności inwestycyjnej oraz poziomem przedsiębiorczości w regionach. Głównym celem badań była diagnoza zależności pomiędzy przestrzenną strukturą podmiotów z kapitałem zagranicznym a poziomem atrakcyjności inwestycyjnej. Analizę współzależności przeprowadzono dla 16 regionów Polski charakteryzujących się zróżnicowanym poziomem atrakcyjności oraz liczbą zarejestrowanych przedsiębiorstw w latach 2009-2017. Przeprowadzona analiza nie dostarcza jednoznacznej odpowiedzi. Dostrzec można jednak znaczną koncentrację działalności gospodarczej w zaledwie pięciu, najwyżej ocenianych w rankingu atrakcyjności inwestycyjnej regionach oraz deficyt inwestycji w czterech województwach Polski Wschodniej o najniższych ocenach.
