Rolling stock planning is one of the steps in the traffic planning process considered from the railway undertaking's point of view. It is directly related to the efficiency of rolling stock utilisation, which should be ensured at the highest possible level in the case of rail transport. The planning work stage is subject to certain risks (threats and opportunities), which, if they materialise, will impact it. It, therefore, makes sense to carry out analyses that can anticipate specific events in good time and introduce appropriate countermeasures in advance. This article aims to conduct a risk assessment process concerning rolling stock planning. It was assumed that the considerations were carried out based on the M_o_R (Management of Risk) methodology. Based on this methodology, risk identification and risk analysis (estimation of risk impact) were carried out. Risk assessment was carried out using the Monte Carlo simulation method. The work identified sixteen risks that represent threats. The principle of risk description was used to identify risks. It requires indicating for each risk the reason for its occurrence and the effect it may have. As a part of risk estimation, variables were selected to assess each risk's impact on the objectives of the stage. Publicly available statistical data were used to define the variables. The variables were expressed in monetary units. The work identified five variables describing impact, which were assigned to the individual risks. As a triangular probability distribution was used for the variability of impact description, the variable's minimum, most likely, and maximum value was identified. A risk assessment was carried out for only two impact description variables (for those variables used to describe the impact of the most significant number of risks). For each variable, statistical parameters were indicated and analysed. The resulting value of the variable describing the impact was then read out for each percentile, and the expected value of the risk was calculated. A detailed risk assessment was made for the lower, middle and upper quartiles. A histogram of the incidence of each variable value was presented, and an assessment was made.

The article presents the results of ageing tests with the use of laboratory light radiation tested according to the EN ISO 16474-2 standard for painting systems used in rolling stock. Th e influence of aging on such properties as gloss, colour and hardness, was determined using two different irradiance settings of the order of 60 W/m2 and 120 W/m2 for the wavelength 300÷400 nm and the same levels of radiant exposure. In addition, this study describes the most important information about laboratory aging tests with simulation of sunlight, temperature, moisture including rain, which are included in ISO standardised test methods. The influence of weather parameters has been described, in particular the influence of an increased dose of irradiance on the degradation of selected physicochemical properties of coatings and the possibility of the predicted ageing progress (changes in selected properties). The obtained results of laboratory tests allow to make certain assumptions regarding the increase of the dose of irradiance and thus the shortening of the laboratory testing time in the context of the assessment of the most desirable properties of the coating for a given application with the use of laboratory ageing tests.

The article describes and presents the influence of selected ageing mechanisms of paint systems currently used in railways in Poland in the context of maintaining their original protective properties against graffiti. Six paint systems with different types of finish, which had anti-graffiti properties, were tested, and the characteristics of the surface of the paint system, such as gloss and colour, were determined after a series of painting and cleaning of graffiti (markers and sprays). The tested objects were subjected to artificial simulated ageing using laboratory solar radiation in a synergistic combination of temperature and humidity in accordance with PN-EN ISO 16474-2 and in accordance with the proprietary methodology described in DN 001/08/A2/16 section 4.1.8 using the UV-C radiation source (discrete spectrum). The tested samples were also subjected to a different type of ageing mechanism under strong corrosive conditions in the form of neutral salt spray according to the methodology described in PN-EN ISO 9227.

The main aim of the article is to introduce the problem of pandemic crisis on the case of one of the largest companies in the country which specialise in passenger rail transport. Two different analyses of its financial condition were methodically carried out over a period of five years, just before its occurrence. The results of the analyses turned out to be different. The method of comparing sales results, although it indicated a clear downturn, gave no cause for concern. The discriminant method, on the other hand, indicated that the company’s health was at a very good level in the four years before the pandemic. The next two years were a little less good, although not alarming. The critical moment became the last year of the analysis, when the pandemic began. The indicators clearly approached the limit values, which would indicate a state of near bankruptcy. This procedure is a key action aimed at improving the competitiveness of the company on the transport market. It is also important to take care of the rolling stock management and the level of services provided. In view of the situation, the authors have pointed out the need to carry out actions aimed at levelling the effects of the crisis. The basic tasks included the need to reconstruct the business model and to re-identify strategic processes aimed at verifying the company’s policy towards the changes taking place. This procedure is a key action aimed at improving the competitiveness of the company on the transport market. It is also important to take care of the rolling stock management and the level of services provided. The added value is effective communication at all levels of the company. It can only be audited and managed if the performance is visualised in the form of indicators, the results of which depend on the level of employee motivation. In the writing of the article, scientific literature, both Polish and foreign, as well as official results of the analysed company were used.
Zasadniczym celem artykułu jest prezentacja problematyki kryzysu pandemicznego na przykładzie jednego z największych przedsiębiorstw w kraju specjalizujących się w kolejowym transporcie pasażerskim. Przeprowadzono wobec niego dwie metodycznie odmienne analizy kondycji finansowej w okresie pięciu lat, tuż przed jego wystąpieniem. Uzyskane wyniki analiz okazały się odmiennie różne. Metoda porównywania wyników sprzedażowych, choć wskazała wyraźną dekoniunkturę, to nie dawała powodu do zmartwień. Metoda dyskryminacyjna natomiast wskazała, że kondycja przedsiębiorstwa jest na bardzo dobrym poziomie w okresie czterech lat przed pandemią. Kolejne dwa lata były nieco słabsze, choć nie alarmujące. Krytycznym momentem stał się ostatni rok analizy, w którym wybuchła pandemia. Wskaźniki wyraźnie zbliżyły się do wartości granicznych, co wskazywałoby na stan bliski upadłości. Wobec zaistniałej sytuacji autorzy wskazali potrzebę przeprowadzenia działań zmierzających do zniwelowania skutków kryzysu. Do podstawowych zadań zaliczono potrzebę rekonstrukcji modelu biznesowego oraz ponowną identyfikację procesów strategicznych mających na celu weryfikację polityki przedsiębiorstwa wobec zachodzących zmian. Zabieg ten stanowi kluczowe działanie zmierzające do poprawy konkurencyjności przedsiębiorstwa na rynku transportowym. Istotnym staje się również dbałość o gospodarkę taborową oraz poziom świadczonych usług. Wartością dodaną zaś jest sprawnie funkcjonująca komunikacja realizowana na wszystkich poziomach przedsiębiorstwa. Kontrola i zarządzanie nim jest możliwe tylko wtedy, gdy obraz działalności zwizualizowany zostanie w formie mierników, których wyniki uzależnione są od poziomu motywacji pracowników. W celu napisania artykułu wykorzystana została literatura naukowa, zarówno polska, jak i zagraniczna oraz oficjalne wyniki finansowe badanego przedsiębiorstwa.

Vibration diagnostics is of particular importance in rail transport safety systems because the signals received from vibration sensors installed on rolling stock, bridges, tunnels, and other infrastructure objects have great diagnostic information potential. Despite this, in practice, there are cases when the adequacy of the results of the vibration control and diagnostics task is not ensured. The reason is that the sampling step of the vibration signal does not change when the train speed changes. Given the need to change the sampling interval depending on the train speed, this article proposes an adaptive technology for vibration signal sampling that allows the building of intelligent systems of adaptive vibration control of malfunctions in rail transport.

The article presents the process of changes in the structure of the tram transport fleet in Poland from the moment of joining the European Union, i.e., from 2004, to 2022. Basic information about Polish enterprises providing tram transport was presented. The structure of passenger rolling stock in individual cities was described. The author attempted to discuss and define the basic processes related to the changes in the structure of the rolling stock and to present statistical data covering the period in question. This issue was analysed on the example of 15 Polish tram transport systems (along with the description of the process of financing with EU funds). The main aim of the article was to show the dynamics of changes in the rolling stock structure in individual tram companies in Poland.

The second part presents the effect of pressure changes on the front and side surfaces of passing trains. Conclusions concerning side windows and windscreens in high-speed railway vehicles and older type railway vehicles with lower allowable speeds and the possibility of using various rolling stock on the same lines are presented.

To speed up the deployment of innovative solutions in rail transport, while ensuring their required quality, dedicated testing grounds are used in some European and non-European countries. Such testing grounds include, in particular, experimental tracks and a special group of them are experimental loops districts. One advantage of such advanced infrastructure is the availability of conditions comparable to those on railway lines but with no impact on the performance of transport tasks, the availability of the same conditions for comparative tests and the continuity of tests, which considerably shortens their duration and accelerates the results. The article describes the parameters of the experimental tracks in use, and compares and classifies them in the context of the feasibility of different types of testing.

Opis:
Mechanical models of a transport system “carriage - track” while crossing a joint irregularity are proposed. An investigation was conducted on the peculiarities of static, shock and dynamic interaction between the four-axle car and the track, considering tram wheelsets motion features over joint irregularity. A method to solve the equations of a mathematical model of static, shock and dynamic interaction is developed. Numerical analysis is used to determine deflections of the facing rail under the first sleeper for each phase of motion depending on motion phases, and car load and speed.

Wieloletnie zaniedbania w modernizację linii tramwajowych oraz wzrost natężenia i tonażu w ruchu drogowym spowodował dewastację istniejącej infrastruktury komunikacyjnej. Niestety wiążą się z tym również niekorzystne oddziaływania taboru tramwajowego na środowisko. Do niekorzystnych oddziaływań taboru tramwajowego możemy zaliczyć oddziaływania dynamiczne i akustyczne. Szczególnie dokuczliwe są wpływy akustyczne, gdyż ich strefa oddziaływania jest znacznie większa niż wpływów dynamicznych. W pracy zostaną szczegółowo przedstawione niekorzystne oddziaływania akustyczne na ludzi, na podstawie przeprowadzonych badań. W związku z dużą ilością celowych funduszy europejskich nastąpiła tendencja modernizacji istniejącej infrastruktury. W związku z tym poszukuje się rozwiązań trwałych i niezawodnych. Trwałe rozwiązania torowisk w infrastrukturze miejskiej są teraz dużym wyzwaniem dla inżynierów. Dotychczasowe badania wskazują, że najwyższą trwałość spośród nawierzchni drogowych w obrębie torowisk wykazuje kostka kamienna lub betonowa w połączeniu z nowoczesną systemową konstrukcją podbudowy.
Many years-neglects into the modernization of tramlines and the growth of intensity and the tonnage on the road caused the devastation of the existing communication infrastructure. Unfortunately disadvantageous influences of the tram-camp on the environment tie in with this also. To disadvantageous influences of the tramcamp we can count dynamic and acoustic influences. Especially troublesome are acoustic influences, because their zone of the influence is considerably greater than dynamic influences. In the article in detail will remain disadvantageous of acoustic influences on people, on the basis of carried out research. In connection with the European structural funds followed the tendency of the modernization of the existing infrastructure. Thereby durable and reliable solutions are seek. Durable solutions of track-ways in the urban infrastructure are now a large challenge for engineers.
