The screw feeder design for the pre-compaction of bulk materials to be briquetted in a roll press is considered to increase the overall reliability. The relationship between the parameters of the screw feeder and its technological characteristics is investigated by the example of two fine-grained materials. A new mathematical model and design algorithm have been developed, which takes into account the properties of materials, the roller press parameters, the shape of the briquettes, and their deformation after compaction. The relationship between the pre-compaction pressure and the material stack height at the inlet is determined. The relations between the torque, the screw pitch, and the material stack height above the inlet, as well as the drive power and the screw pitch on productivity, are investigated. In experiments, using the proposed design, the compaction ratio of the peat increases by 22-27%, and hydrolyzed lignin –by 14-17%. The proposed approach allows for preventing drive overloading and ensures the reliable operation of pre-compaction devices for the roller presses.

This paper performs the fatigue life analysis of the radial Cylindrical Roller Bearings (CRBs) with consideration of various roller end-flange shapes such as toroidal-toroidal, spherical-toroidal, and spherical-conical. A novel formula for each flange contact deformation in cylindrical roller bearing with different roller end-flange geometry including toroidal geometry is developed. Inner ring misalignment angle and radial deflection results obtained from the present study are verified with numerical and experimental results from the literature. The results approach to that of literature when the flange is changed from toroidal geometry to conical geometry. Using formulas developed in the present study, the effect of various roller end-flange geometries on the bearing life is investigated for different external loadings. It is observed that the bearing life increases when the roller end and flange are changed to toroidal geometry.

In the initial position in the process of roll ginning, the seed is drawn to the slot of the contact gap of the knife-drum due to the tension of the fibers. Subsequently, the seed is struck with a certain impulse. The separation of the fibers from the seed after the impact of the beater occurs sequentially, not simultaneously. As a result of theoretical and experimental studies, the optimum frequency of the shock pulse on the seed (f = 18-20) was found to be the most technologically successful in terms of providing the best quality indicators of seeds and fibers. Beating in the resonance mode allows to reduce the magnitude of the shock impulse on the seed, leading to a reduction in the degree of damage to the seeds. At this moment, the seeds at the end of the strand move only under the action of an elastic restoring force. The active part of the fiber bundle section in a dynamic process can be as little as 0.001 or less. The average value of the compliance coefficient for the raw cotton variety BA-440 was determined experimentally. This allowed to determine the stiffness coefficient of the volatiles indirectly. According to the parameters obtained, the dynamic state of the system practically falls into the region of parametric resonance, where the motion is unstable. This means that the damaged seeds at the end of the strand enlarge significantly after the impact of the beater, causing the seeds to separate from the fibers.

In the current investigation, two primary indicators, including the average roughness (AR) and Brinell hardness (BH) of the roller burnishing operation are enhanced using the optimal inputs (the spindle speed-S, feed rate-f, and depth of penetration-D). The performance measures are developed using the Kriging approach and optimal outcomes are generated by the Crow Search Algorithm (CSA). The optimal outcomes generated by the CSA of the S, f, and D were 832 rpm, 112 mm/min, and 0.12 mm, while the AR was reduced by 37.0% and the BH was increased by 29.9%, respectively. The optimal findings could be utilized in the practice for enhancing the burnished quality and to develop a professional system related to the roller burnishing operation. The Kriging-based AR and BH correlations could be used to present nonlinear experimental data. The optimizing technique could be utilized to deal with optimizing problems for different machining operations.

This article presents the results of work related to design, analysis and selection of the 3D printed mecanum wheels. Initial CAD model does not include material type of the rollers. Rollers were printed in 4 types of filament: PLA, ABS, PETG, FLEX. Analysis, tests and target destination of use allowed to choose the best material for rollers which will meet the usage requirements. Next step after choose material for roller were assembly of the wheels. Wheels were tested on the simple platform. Assembled 4 wheels (two left and two right) allowed to carry out tests to verify the mobility of the mobile robot and check the adhesion between rollers and ground.

Duplex cast steel it is a material with great potential. The properties of this material have contributed to its wide application in many industrial sectors, for example: oil extraction, printing, petrochemical industry, energy - flue gas desulphurization systems, seawater desalination plants, shipbuilding industry. The article presents the results of tribological tests following the static pressure roller burnishing (SPRB) process of GX2CrNiMoN22-5-3 duplex cast steel. The tests provided a basis for assessing the effect of the burnishing parameters on tribological properties of that material. The issue is important because the authors focused their research on duplex cast steels grade that are not containing copper. The article presents part of the research concerning the influence of the burnishing process on the properties of the duplex steel surface layer. Copper in duplex steels affects many areas one of them is the plastic properties. Its absence also reduces castability. Because of that it is reasonable to determine to what extent the properties of the surface layer of copper-free duplex cast steel grades can be shaped in burnishing process.

W artykule zaprezentowano wyniki badań parametrów ruchu osoby poruszającej się na różnych rodzajach rolek. Przeprowadzono analizę i ocenę wpływu konstrukcji rolek na osiągane parametry ruchu, w szczególności na prędkości, w aspekcie możliwości wykonywania rekonstrukcji i czasowo-przestrzennych analiz zdarzeń drogowych z udziałem osób poruszających się na rolkach. Badania zostały przeprowadzone na placu manewrowym oraz podczas przejazdów długodystansowych. Do badań wykorzystano urządzenie pomiarowe VBOX Sport. Uzyskane wyniki mogą być wykorzystane w rekonstrukcji wypadków drogowych. Na zakończenie, wykorzystując program V-Sim 5.0 przeprowadzono symulację upadku na rolkach, wskazując na wartości przyspieszeń i prędkości w chwili uderzenia głową o podłoże.
The article presents the results of research on the parameters of the movement of a person moving on various types of roller skates. An analysis and evaluation of the impact of the roller skate design on the achieved traffic parameters, speeds in particular, in terms of the possibility of reconstructing road events with the participation of roller skaters and conducting time-distance analyses was carried out. The tests were carried out in various road conditions, i.e. on the maneuvering yard and over long distances. The VBOX Sport measuring device was used for the tests. Using the V-Sim version 5.0, a simulation of a fall while roller skating was carried out, indicating the values of acceleration and velocity at the moment of hitting the head on the ground. The speed results obtained in various traffic conditions can be used in time-distance analyses, and the presented material indicates the complexity of the issue a as well as the need for an in-depth analysis of a possible case.

The article presents the results of laboratory combustion tests of the microbriquette obtained from useless coal (grain class of < 5 mm) generated in the production of “eco-pea” (eko-groszek) coal. The briquettes of 1.5 and 2.5 cm3 were made in a roller press of crushed coal granulation down to 2 mm, mixed with a binder and/or catalytic additives and sorbents, then dried to final moisture of about 7%. The tests were carried out on a specially designed stand enabling to determine the differential curve of the weight loss of samples heated to the ignition temperature and then burnt with laminar airflow by natural chimney draft. Comparative tests were carried out with ecopea coal from the “ZG Sobieski” mine. The results indicate that composite fuels, in the form of microbriquette, ignite faster, burn at a higher temperature and leave less ash when burned than lump coal. The greater reactivity of the briquette concerning the lump coal allows for minimizing the air rate by about 10%, which also reduces the exhaust gas volume by the same amount and the stack losses. It reduces the velocity of dust lifting, which leads to the reduction of their emission.

Several hundred years ago, the use of these gifts of nature was one of the everyday life of those communities and nobody was thinking about sustainable development and renewable Energy. The example of XVIII centuries of Poznań shows methods and devices that used renewable Energy sources.

The article showed the result of investigation of the length of hydraulic jump in trapezoidal channel. In this study, the basic factors that affect the length (Lj) and roller length (Lr) of hydraulic jump were investigated by physical trapezoidal channel’s model. The experiment carried out in purpose to establish a new empirical equation for calculating the roller length (Lr) of the jump in the horizontal trapezoidal channel with the upstream flow Froude number 4.0 to 9.0 (the steady jump). The hydraulic characteristics of forced jump were measured and statistically calculated by excel software. The results of data analysis showed that the MAPE was relatively small (< 5%), and R2 > 0.9 (strong correlation between predicted and observed values) and other statistical indicators are less than 0.1 (MSE = 0.004, RMSE = 0.062 và MEA = 0.047). Therefore, the equation found could be appropriated and applied to calculate characteristics of hydraulic jump trapezoidal channel.

This paper presents a method for simplified modeling of bearing nodes of a lathe spindle using the finite element method. The proposed modeling methodology is based on the use of an orthotropic material model, which is used to reflect the stiffness properties of the bearing, both in the radial and axial directions. The modeling results have been experimentally verified. This resulted in full agreement of the mode shapes, an average relative error of the natural frequency values of 1.48% and high agreement of the receptance function.

The brake roller is one of the elements for the safe operation of gravity flow pallet racks. The brake roller of the magnetic (eddy current) type magnetic brake roller (MBR) is the most promising brake type. The working principle of the MBR is based on electromagnetic induction laws, according to which the braking of a conductor moving in the magnetic field is caused by the interaction of the conductor's eddy currents with the external magnetic field. In the paper, a mathematical model of the pallet motion on an MBR was developed. The equation of motion of the pallet on the MBR was derived. The calculation results were compared with the results of experimental studies of the pallet motion velocity on the MBR. For pallet speed under “drag peak” speed, the error of the mathematical model is <7.7%, and the error starts increasing once over the “drag peak” speed. Additional investigation of the coefficient of magnetic viscosity for speeds greater than the “drag peak” speed is required.

The article presents the detection of damage to rollers based on the transverse vibration signal measured on the conveyor belt. A solution was proposed for a wireless measuring device that moves with the conveyor belt along of the route, which records the signal of transverse vibrations of the belt. In the first place, the research was conducted in laboratory conditions, where a roller with prepared damage was used. Subsequently, the process of validating the adopted test procedure under real conditions was performed. The approach allowed to verify the correctness of the adopted technical assumptions of the measuring device and to assess the reliability of the acquired test results. In addition, an LSTM neural network algorithm was proposed to automate the process of detecting anomalies of the recorded diagnostic signal based on designated time series. The adopted detection algorithm has proven itself in both laboratory and in-situ tests.

The paper shows the results of researching the rollers used in belt conveyors working in a hard coal mine. Rollers should be characterized by low rotation resistance, which results in low power consumption of the propulsion unit. The tests conducted aimed to assess the technical condition of the new C-type rollers after several years of operation in a hard coal mine. The research was carried out from the new approach to the standard issues of roll testing and verification in a hard coal mine. Laboratory tests were combined with testing the entire belt conveyor in terms of power demand. The research was carried out for 3 years and it was monitored how the dynamic resistance of the working rollers changed and how this translates into the power demand consumed by the belt conveyor in a hard coal mine. The aim of the research was a new approach to the research of rollers used in conveyors operating in a mine.
