    Opis:
    Caring for a family member with dementia involves multifaceted relational issues linked to the construction of caregiving as an emotional, symbolic and morally sanctionable practice inscribed in kin relations and dominant femininity (Paoletti 2007). As the disease disrupts taken-for-granted expectations for a person with dementia and the entire family, this qualitatively new situation necessitates the (re)negotiation of kin roles and responsibilities (Peel 2017; Purves 2011). By applying conversation analysis and membership categorization analysis to an audio-taped open-ended interview with an American female caregiver, this paper investigates in-depth how she discursively navigates complex familial role-relational trajectories while assisting her mother with dementia. The study examines the situatedness of role vis-á-vis self-other relations with assumptions about categories within the membership categorization devices ‘family’ and ‘gender’ being critical to this process. It documents how the participant contextualizes care experience not only in the standardized relational pair ‘daughter-mother’ but brings into focus a broader constellation of historical, contemporaneous or hypothetical aspects of kinship ties (e.g., with her parents, siblings or children), each of which invokes distinct expectations, responsibilities and loyalties which sometimes competing with other relations. The study thus exposes certain commonsense propositions concerning normative family role-relationships which function as powerful benchmarks for making life choices, interpreting one’s experiences, and morally evaluating oneself and others while providing care to kin with dementia.

    Opis:
    The main purpose of the paper is to identify the role of relationships in successful functioning of contemporary enterprises, and to describe the expressions of relationship management, on the example of a group of Polish enterprises. The method of critical analysis of the literature is applied in the work, and the survey method is used for the needs of own research (conducted on a sample of 156 Polish enterprises). The work presents the issue of relationships between organizations and the way they are managed. It is shown that even though entrepreneurs do not declare that relationships are managed in their companies, still many actions proving that relationships are the object of managers’ interest are observed. The results of the study show that relationships are perceived as important in companies; however, at the same time, a low level of awareness in this area is observed. Although companies do not declare managing relationships, they implement a lot of activities in this sphere. This confirms the possibility of practical use of the knowledge gained in the area, which is presented in this study.

    Opis:
    The prepared text is a personal reflection on the structure and meaning of social relationships in contemporary families early twenty-first century,with particular emphasis on families with a child with symptoms of physical or intellectual disability. The major emphasis has been placed there for his father's social role, which in the social constellation which is the family, is sometimes not very clear, sometimes even marginalized, and most interesting families we underestimated the extent that it actually deserves. For drawing generalizations based on the assumed problems accumulated empirical material gathered through observation and interview about 500 families involved. For providing intelligence were both parents of a disabled child, as well as his siblings and other relatives. This properly collated and developed accordance with the suggestion of interested participants in the seminars for parents raising a child with disabilities development, helped to expose and develop a 12- theoretical models of structural and relational families, preferring certain attitudes towards the disabled child and his upbringing. Our results for which I made in the development, servedme for a plot to show the verymuch appreciated and is vital in the life of a disabled child, his father's social role as a carer, friend and facilitator.

    The article presents the competences of managers, conducive to building positive interpersonal relationships in the team. In the face of modern economic conditions in the form of globalization, virtual organizations and the dominant role of intellectual capital, the company's success lies in cooperation and reciprocity, which inspire to exchange experiences and serve the implementation of individual and team goals. Literature studies and the results of empirical research confirm the importance of these competences, the possession and disclosure of which during the day-to-day work by managers positively affects employees.

    Współczesna rodzina znajduje się w „okresie przejścia”, głębokich przemian. Badacze i komentatorzy reprezentujący tradycjonalistyczny punkt widzenia postrzegają często te przeobrażenia w kategoriach kryzysu, a nawet upadku rodziny. Przemiany tej mikrostruktury, jaką jest rodzina, są jednak pochodną przemian makrostrukturalnych, związanych z wyłanianiem się społeczeństwa ponowoczesnego ze wszystkimi jego cechami i procesami. Wydaje się, że jeśli mamy dziś do czynienia z kryzysem, to jest to kryzys „tradycyjnej” formy rodziny nuklearnej, charakterystycznej dla zachodniego społeczeństwa nowoczesnego. Natomiast życie rodzinne jako takie przechodzi nie tyle załamanie, co transformację. Równolegle ze zmianami rodziny zmienia się pozycja kobiety. Partnerstwo w rodzinie dwu pracujących osób różnej płci jest pozorne, obciążając przede wszystkim kobietę. Wciąż mamy do czynienia ze związkami raczej „do partnerstwa” niż rzeczywiście partnerskimi, co staram się pokazać na przykładzie tego najczęstszego modelu rodziny, którego bazą jest związek dorosłych kobiety i mężczyzny, opierając się na badaniach polskiej opinii publicznej i jakościowych badaniach polskich rodzin.
    A contemporary family is currently in a “transition time,” experiencing deep structural changes. For the traditionalists these changes are a sign of serious crisis, if not a decline, of family. The ongoing changes in the family as a microstructure are however a consequence of transformations in macrostructures that are related to emergence of postmodern society with all its features and processes. “Traditional” family in fact is only an idealized form of a patriarchic family, characteristic of Western, modern societies. But a family as a whole is not being destroyed but transformed. Simultaneously with the family changing, the woman’s position is being changed. The article presents the troubles with partner relationships within the family, based on quantitative researches on a representative nationwide sample and qualitative researches on Polish families.

    Opis:
    The present-day media and women's magazines in particular, offer articles on different aspects of mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationship. They present the relationship problems that arise between the mother, her married son and her daughter-in-law as well as the mother-in-law's unacceptable behaviour, her taking part in running the household and participation in bringing up the grandchildren. The magazines also include advice, both for the mother-in-law and the daughter-in-law, which focuses on the positive aspects of their mutual relations. Analysing the articles on contemporary mothers-in-law, it can be seen that the mother-in-law's image they produce remains in keeping with commonplace stereotypes. The older woman's faults are often exaggerated; her values, beliefs and her chosen style of living are disregarded. A responsibility for the problems young married couples experience is attributed to her. The editors of women's magazines, in an effort to bring about a modification of the stereotype, show how to change and improve daughter-in-law and mother-in-law relationships.

    Celem artykułu jest spojrzenie na obraz empatii i tego, w jaki sposób jest ona interpretowana i rozumiana zarówno przez różnych badaczy, jak i praktyków, którzy koncentrują swoją uwagę na jej genezie, oraz pokazanie znaczenia i roli empatii w opiece zastępczej. Artykuł ten jest próbą poszukania odpowiedzi, czym tak naprawdę jest empatia i co ze sobą niesie w aspekcie opieki nad dzieckiem.
    Many researchers from various fields of social sciences indicate progressive global erosion of empathy in our time and emphasize a need to generate effective actions that would increase its level. It is therefore necessary to take appropriate sociopolitical and above all else, educational actions that would make future generations more empathetic, and thus more oriented towards other people, their condition and needs. This article aims to look at the concept of empathy and on how it is interpreted and understood by different researchers who focus their attention on its origin, and most of all, it represents an attempt to show the importance and the role of empathy in foster care. It seeks for an answer, what it really is and what it brings in terms of child care. As we know, there is no single, universal, and all the times effective model of action that can be applied to every family, especially foster families. Each of the families is characterized not only by different problems but also, different resources, values, and individual characteristics of its members. Hence, the empathic abilities can be of assistance and be focused on the child’s perspective – they can help to acknowledge and understand the child’s condition and needs, and thus serve to establish a better, deeper contact with the child in a foster family, as well as determine a common course of action. Apart from the obvious response to the needs of the child, the empathic abilities should include acting according to the resources, as well as one’s, openness to the child his/hers biological family problems, and what follows a common search for the new ways of finding solutions to the problems at hand.
