This article presents the latest research on the perception of the translating profession from the book Tłumacz oczami społeczeństwa edited by Katarzyna Liber-Kwiecińska. The reviewed monograph includes articles that complement current research on the perception of the role and work of interpreters. The presentation of an introductory article concerning the identity of a court interpreter is followed by the results of the work conducted by six teams of young scientists; these studies can be divided into three groups. The former relates to the perception of the interpreter's role by attorneys ad litem, judges, and students of non-philologic faculties, and to the cooperation between interpreters and judges. The second group includes a study on the required education of translators among students of philologic and non-philologic faculties. Finally, the last group contains research on the impact of the level of knowledge of a foreign language and the age of probants on the perception of the translating profession and the impact of the presence of an interpreter on the attractiveness of statements.
In diesem Artikel werden die neuesten Studien auf dem Gebiet der Wahrnehmung des Übersetzer- und Dolmetscherberufs vorgestellt, die aus dem Buch mit dem Titel Tłumacz oczami społeczeństwa, herausgegeben unter der Redaktion von Katarzyna Liber-Kwiecińska, stammen. Diese Monographie enthält Artikel, die die bisherigen Forschungsarbeiten zur Wahrnehmung der Rolle und Arbeit des Übersetzers und Dolmetschers ergänzen. Nach einem einleitenden Artikel über die Identität des Gerichtsdolmetschers werden die Ergebnisse der Arbeit von sechs Teams junger Forscher vorgestellt. Diese Forschungen können in drei Gruppen unterteilt werden. Die erste bezieht sich auf die Wahrnehmung der Rolle des Dolmetschers durch Prozessbevollmächtigte, Richter und Studenten aus nicht philologischen Studienrichtungen sowie auf die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Dolmetschern und Richtern. Die zweite Gruppe umfasst eine Umfrage unter Studenten aus philologischen und nicht philologischen Studienrichtungen zum erforderlichen Bildungsniveau des Übersetzers/Dolmetschers. Die letzte Gruppe umfasst Studien über die Auswirkungen des Niveaus der Fremdsprachkenntnisse und des Alters der Probanden auf ihre Wahrnehmung des Übersetzer-/Dolmetscherberufs sowie über den Einfluss der Anwesenheit des Dolmetschers auf die Attraktivität der Rede.
Artykuł przedstawia najnowsze badania z zakresu postrzegania zawodu tłumacza, które pochodzą z książki wydanej pod redakcją Katarzyny Liber-Kwiecińskiej pod tytułem Tłumacz oczami społeczeństwa. Recenzowana monografia obejmuje artykuły, które uzupełniają dotychczasowe prace badawcze nad postrzeganiem roli i pracy tłumacza. Po zaprezentowaniu artykułu wprowadzającego na temat tożsamości tłumacza sądowego, przedstawiono wyniki pracy sześciu zespołów młodych naukowców. Badania te można podzielić na trzy grupy. Pierwsza grupa odnosi się do sposobu postrzegania roli tłumacza przez pełnomocników procesowych, sędziów i studentów kierunków niefilologicznych oraz do współpracy między tłumaczami a sędziami. Druga grupa obejmuje badanie przeprowadzone wśród studentów kierunków filologicznych i niefilologicznych na temat wymaganego wykształcenia tłumacza. Do ostatniej grupy można natomiast zaliczyć prace badawcze w zakresie wypływu poziomu znajomości języka obcego i wieku probantów na postrzeganie zawodu tłumacza oraz wpływu obecności tłumacza na atrakcyjność wypowiedzi. - Źródło:
