Opis:: This paper presents a functional model of river-sea ships (shortly called: SRM) operating in European system of transport corridors. It is composed of two parts: Part I contains a descriptive model of functioning the SRM fleet with taking into account various shipping tasks as well as impact factors (external and internal factors, limitations and criteria). Also, a mathematical model of functioning the SRM fleet, including choice of relevant economic criteria (e.g. profit maximization, capital return period minimization etc), is presented. Results achieved on the basis of the functional model are presented in Part II of the paper.

Opis:: This paper presents continuation of the research on the functional model of river-sea ships operating in European system of transport corridors. It deals with a set of methods of determination of design assumptions for river-sea ships. Relevant calculations were performed on the basis of a future network of European routes for operating the river-sea ships within EU system of water transport corridors, in which rates of cargo flows and lengths of particular routes as well as their mathematical model were taken into account. In consequence, technical assumptions for designing the fleet of river-sea ships to be operated in European system of water transport corridors, were obtained.

Opis:: Żegluga morsko-rzeczna w Europie jest segmentem rynku usług transportowych o dużej złożoności. Realizuje głównie potrzeby transportowe o charakterze jednorodnym, co sprawia, że wahania koniunkturalne i zmiany strukturalne w przemyśle mają wyjątkowo silny wpływ na jej aktywność. Bezpośrednie przewozy morsko-rzeczne rozwijają się w krajach, w których istnieją bardzo dobre warunki naturalne do prowadzenia żeglugi, głównie w deltach największych europejskich rzek. Poprawa parametrów infrastruktury transportu wodnego śródlądowego tworzy perspektywy dla rozwoju bezpośrednich przewozów morsko-rzecznych, zwiększając potencjał rozwoju portów śródlądowych oraz umożliwiając obsługę nowych ładunków i relacji przewozowych.
Sea-river transport in Europe is a complex segment of the transport services market. It mainly implements homogeneous transport needs, which makes business fluctuations and structural changes in industry have a particularly strong impact on its activity. Sea-river transport develops in countries where there are very good natural conditions for shipping, mainly in the deltas of the largest European rivers. Improving the parameters of inland waterway transport infrastructure creates possibilities for the development of sea-river transport, increasing the potential for developing inland ports and enabling the handling of new cargo and transport relations.

Opis:: Development of the river sea transport is directly related to the characteristics of waterway network which enables navigation between river basins and seas. Inland waterways in Serbia belong to the Danube navigational system. There are two navigational directions: Danube East and Danube West. River-sea transport can be directly established in these directions between the Serbian international ports on the Danube (Apatin, Novi Sad, Belgrade, Pan?evo, Smederevo and Prahovo). Development of the Pan-European Corridor VII and the River Danube-Black Sea and Danube-Rhine-Main region would allow not only in Serbia but also in neighbouring states and all over Europe connection with the sea. In this paper the technical and exploitation characteristics of the river Danube will be analysed in terms of the navigation of various river and sea vessels with different exploitation characteristics.

Opis:: The sea-river navigation consists on ships manoeuvring on inland waters to ports, which are situated sometimes a few hundredths kilometres inside to land. On polish waters, the sea-river shipping is possible mainly on Odra, Wisła and Warta rivers. Such shipping is much advanced on water areas of Swinoujscie, Police and Szczecin ports. The leading of safely navigation requires first of all the high accuracy ship's positioning to avoid the contact with fixed objects and other ships. Therefore, the requirements for position accuracy are much stricter than those in open sea and offshore navigation. The radar is one of the basic devices, which facilitates safe navigation in various conditions-especially in reduced visibility. The basic information for the navigator is presented on the display screen. Presently, the display commonly used on board sea-going ships and other sailing craft is the type ,,P" display (PPI-Plan Position Indicator). The exploitation restrictions of radar can caused some problems in detection, discrimination and presenting of situation during navigation on inland water areas. There is possibility to shipping of sea-river ships to the ports in lower part of Odra river. The paper presents some problems of using the radar in inland navigation on these area. The results of real research will be showed.

Opis:: W artykule omówiony został problem funkcjonowania terminali kontenerowych usytuowanych w portach morskich Gdańska i Gdyni oraz ich powiązania z zapleczem lądowym kraju, przy wykorzystaniu między innymi transportu śródlądowego operującego na bazie autostrady rzecznej – „Dolna Wisła” w oparciu o istniejący port w Bydgoszczy. Z punktu widzenia zintegrowanych systemów transportowych najlepszym rozwiązaniem przyczyniającym się do rozwoju nowych technologii przewozu masy towarowej okazała się konteneryzacja oraz sprawnie działające terminale morskie i rzeczne. W najbliższej przyszłości należy zaprojektować i zbudować nowoczesne terminale rzeczne w Tczewie oraz w Solcu Kujawskim.
The article discussed the problem of the operation of container terminals located in the ports of Gdansk and Gdynia, and their links to the hinterland of the country, using among others inland transport operating on the basis of river highway - "Lower Vistula" based on the existing port in Bydgoszcz. From the point of view of integrated transport systems the best solution contributing to the development of new technologies carriage of cargo containerization and proved to be efficient sea and river terminals. In the near future should be to design and build modern river terminals in Tczew and in Solec Kujawski.
