    Ocena ryzyka związanego z narażeniem na substancje chemiczne w środowisku pracy jest zadaniem, które nadal sprawia pracodawcom wiele trudności. Jednocześnie prawdopodobieństwo wystąpienia u pracownika niekorzystnych skutków zdrowotnych w wyniku tego typu zagrożeń, a także związanych z tym strat materialnych pracodawcy powinno być motywacją do poszukiwania skutecznych rozwiązań, które pozwalałyby pracodawcy ocenić ryzyko i poprzez zastosowanie właściwej profilaktyki ograniczyć je do dopuszczalnego poziomu. W artykule przedstawiono przykładowe narzędzia wspomagające pracodawcę w ocenie ryzyka zawodowego związanego z występowaniem czynników chemicznych w miejscu pracy. Podano przykłady poradników, podręczników, list kontrolnych i różnych narzędzi interaktywnych z Polski i innych krajów Unii Europejskiej, jak również krajów poza Unią i organizacji międzynarodowych. Narzędzia te opracowano w celu spełnienia wymogów prawodawstwa unijnego i polskiego. Pozwalają one wstępnie oszacować ryzyko chemiczne oraz na tej podstawie podjąć dalsze kroki zmierzające do poprawy warunków i bezpieczeństwa pracy. Med. Pr. 2014;65(5):683–692
    The assessment of risk associated with exposure to chemicals in the work environment is a task that still poses a lot of difficulties for the employers. At the same time the probability of adverse health effects faced by an employee as a result of such risks, and the related employer’s material losses should motivate employers to seek effective solutions aimed at assessing the risks and controling them to an acceptable level by the application of appropriate preventive measures. The paper presents examples of tools to assist the employer in the risk assessment associated with the presence of chemical agents in the workplace. Examples of guides, manuals, checklists and various interactive tools, developed in Poland and other European Union (EU) countries, as well as in countries outside the EU and international organizations are described. These tools have been developed to meet the current requirements of the law and allow a rough estimation of chemical risk and based on these estimates take further steps to improve working conditions and safety.     Opis:
    Risks in the maritime domain have various sources, of which the transportation of oil and other noxious products is one of key concern to industry and public stakeholders. Operational or accidental releases of oil or other pollutants from ships or offshore facilities into the marine environment can have disastrous effects on the marine ecosystems, while also leading to very significant economical losses. Therefore, national states have implemented various mechanisms for preventing and responding to pollution in the maritime domain, with activities which are often embedded in regional cooperation frameworks clustered around certain sea areas. To support collaborative, harmonized, and risk-informed oil spill Pollution Preparedness and Response (PPR) planning for response authorities, the Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission (HELCOM), together with its research partners, and with extensive end-user and stakeholder inputs, have developed the OpenRisk Toolbox. This toolbox includes several risk assessment tools and techniques, which can assist in providing answers to a range of PPR risk management questions in a range of organizational contexts. To better understand and ensure the applicability and usefulness of the OpenRisk Toolbox, a workshop was organized where some of these tools were tested. Selected end user and stakeholder views on the perceived usefulness of the tools were collected and analyzed. Another workshop focused on further development needs to implement the tools in organizational practices. This paper first presents the OpenRisk Toolbox, then describes the settings of the workshops. Finally, a summary of the end-user and stakeholder views on the tested tools, and on future development needs, is given.

    This article studies differences in the results of using different risk estimation tools in the same hazardous situations involving dangerous machinery. We investigated how (a) types of risk estimation parameters and methods of constructing tools, (b) the number of levels of each parameter, and (c) the number of risk levels influence the results. Consequently, 31 risk estimation tools were compared by using them to estimate risk levels associated with 20 hazardous situations. Risk estimation appears to be tool-dependent, as different tools give different results with identical hazardous situations. The scope of the tool, its use, and construction could explain these differences. This article also proposes a series of rules for constructing tools to alleviate many problems associated with the variability of risk estimations.

    To assess and plan future risk-analysis research projects, 275 documents describing methods and tools for assessing the risks associated with industrial machines or with other sectors such as the military, and the nuclear and aeronautics industries, etc., were collected. These documents were in the format of published books or papers, standards, technical guides and company procedures collected throughout industry. From the collected documents, 112 documents were selected for analysis; 108 methods applied or potentially applicable for assessing the risks associated with industrial machines were analyzed and classified. This paper presents the main quantitative results of the analysis of the methods and tools.

    Opis:
    The paper concerns a risk assessment and management methodology in critical infrastructures. The aim of the paper is to present researches on risk management within the experimentation tool based on the OSCAD software. The researches are focused on interdependent infrastructures where the specific phenomena, like escalating and cascading effects, may occur. The objective of the researches is to acquire knowledge about risk issues within interdependent infrastructures, to assess the usefulness of the OSCAD-based risk manager in this application domain, and to identify directions for further R&D works. The paper contains a short introduction to risk management in critical infrastructures, presents the state of the art, and the context, plan and scenarios of the performed validation experiments. Next, step by step, the validation is performed. It encompasses two collaborating infrastructures (railway, energy). It is shown how a hazardous event impacts the given infrastructure (primary and secondary eects) and the neighbouring infrastructure. In the conclusions the experiments are summarized, the OSCAD software assessed and directions of the future works identified.

    The paper analyzes occupational risk at selected metal cutting machine tool stands (turning, milling, drilling and grinding stands) and presents a set of recommendations formulated to minimize hazards at the above mentioned stands. The assessment is based on the analysis that allowed for selecting the best method of occupational risk assessment, measurements, observations, interviews and conclusions drawn from the obtained results. Occupational risk assessment forms were devised, what allowed for selecting appropriate action to increase the safety of selected machinery operators. The guidelines were assessed in terms of their practical implementation and expected utilitarian results.

    Opis:
    Domestic violence is experienced by almost 90,000 people every year in Poland. The question of accurate and reliable diagnosis of violence by professionals working with families experiencing violence forms the basis of the analysis of this phenomenon. Research clearly indicates that a good diagnosis is the foundation for creating effective plans to help families and clients. The article assesses the diagnostic process of domestic violence. The diagnostic process has been divided into three parts. The first concerns the situation where violence has not yet occurred but professionals point out factors that may indicate a high probability of its occurrence. The second part relates to the stage where violence occurs. The rules for screening (confirmation of the occurrence of violence) and further in-depth diagnosis are described here. The third part discusses the diagnosis of the possibility of recurrence of violence in families that have previously experienced it. The last part of the article shows how important the phenomenon of violence in the diagnosis made by representatives of various assistance professions is. The article also shows practical tips and solutions used in other countries and difficulties that may face the diagnosis of domestic violence in their work.
    Przemoc domowa jest doświadczana każdego roku w Polsce przez niemal 90 tysięcy osób. Podstawowym problemem jaki pojawia się w refleksji na tym zjawiskiem jest pytanie o trafne i rzetelne diagnozowanie przemocy przez profesjonalistów pracujących  z rodzinami doświadczających przemocy. Badania jednoznacznie wskazują, że dobra diagnoza jest podstawą do tworzenia efektywnych planów pomocy rodzinie i klientowi. Artykuł analizuje proces diagnostyczny rodzin z problemem przemocy domowej. Proces diagnostyczny podzielony został na trzy części. Pierwsza dotyczy sytuacji kiedy przemoc jeszcze nie występuje ale profesjonaliści wskazują na czynniki, które mogą świadczyć o dużym prawdopodobieństwu pojawienia się jej. Drugi to etap, na którym przemoc występuje. W tym miejscu opisane zostały zasady screeningu (potwierdzenie występowania przemocy) i dalszej pogłębionej diagnozy. Trzecia część podejmuje rozważania dotyczące diagnozy możliwości nawrotu przemocy w rodzinach, które wcześniej jej doświadczały. Ostatnia część pokazuje na ile istotne jest zjawisko przemocy w diagnozie dokonywanej przez przedstawicieli różnych profesji pomocowych. W artykule pokazane zostały także praktyczne wskazówki, rozwiązania funkcjonujące w innych krajach oraz trudności jakie mogą w swojej pracy napotykać diagności problemu przemocy domowej.

    Ocena ryzyka zawodowego jest kluczowym elementem zarządzania bezpieczeństwem i higieną pracy. Przeprowadzenie oceny ryzyka zawodowego ma za zadanie ustanowić bezpieczne miejsca pracy dla pracowników, zapoznać ich z zagrożeniami mogącymi wystąpić podczas wykonywanych przez nich czynności oraz z ich konsekwencjami. Każdy pracownik wykonując czynności związane z pracą, narażony jest na szereg czynników środowiskowych, przeważnie mających negatywny wpływ na jego zdrowie oraz samopoczucie. Praca na stanowisku operatora pras obrabiarek CNC również wiąże się z występowaniem wielu zagrożeń. Szczegółowa analiza tych zagrożeń przedstawiona została w artykule. Dodatkowo przeanalizowano działania korygujące i zapobiegawcze, które stanowią klucz do bezpiecznego wykonywania przez operatora obrabiarek CNC czynności związanych z pracą.
    Occupational risk assessment is a key element of safety management and occupational hygiene. Conducting risk assessment is to establish safe work places for employees, make them aware of possible threats occur during their activities and with their consequences. Each the employee is exposed to a number of factors when performing work related activities environmental problems, mostly affecting his health and well-being. Working as an operator of press CNC machine tools is also associated with the occurrence of many threats. A detailed analysis of these threats has been presented In this article. In addition, corrective and preventive actions were analyzed are the key to the safe operation of the CNC machine tool operator related to work.
