    Self-protection is the power granted to a subject to directly achieve, on an out-of-court level, for his own benefit, a certain effect in the legal sphere of the perpetrator of a harmful conduct. The right to retain the confirmatory deposit, a singular case of out-of-court termination of the contract for non-fulfillment, can be attributed to the category of self-protection, counted among the "withdrawal of self-protection". The study systematically reconstructs the requirements of the case and the protection regime of the figure, in the light of the sources and evolutionary hermeneutics of doctrine and jurisprudence, identifying its complex function and the nature of an alternative remedy.

Artykuł omawia przepisy ustawy dotyczące zawierania umów na odległość w zakresie sprzedaży treści cyfrowych niezapisanych na nośniku materialnym, a w szczególności obowiązków informacyjnych przedsiębiorcy oraz prawa konsumenta do odstąpienia od umowy
    The Consumer Rights Act enters into force on 25.12.2014. The act implements into Polish law the Directive 2011/83/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 October 2011 on consumer rights. The paper addresses the new regulations on the trader’s information requirements and consumer’s right of withdrawal concerning distance contracts for digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium. Author presents legislation and confronts it with various market practices

    Opis:
    Death is an inevitable phenomenon, but it can be experienced with dignity. For this reason, people are continually seeking decent ways to die. One of these is avoiding or moving away from so-called aggressive medical treatment if it doesn’t provides the dying with any therapeutic benefit and only generates costs and prolongs suffering. Consensual, inevitable death has been practiced in medicine since the time of Hippocrates, although at the same time we can see a tendency towards the opposite, uncompromising fight to the end. This trend is sometimes justified by the exceptional value of human life, which demands both the patient’s and doctor’s heroism. Since the Middle Ages it has been a widely accepted practice to limit the care for human life to the use of so-called, ordinary and proportionate remedies. The acceptance of this principle also means withdrawing futile therapy.
