- On the basis of phytosociological studies Central European lowland oak−hornbeam forest Galio sylvatici−Carpinetum betuli and continental mixed coniferous forest Querco roboris−Pinetum forest associations were distinguished in Niwa nature reserve. The brioflora of the reserve consists of 16 species (5 species are strictly protected). The list of vascular flora includes 125 species, of which 4 are legally protected. Transformations observed in the area of the reserve are mainly a result of ageing of tree stand, spruce regression and regeneration of plant communities.
