Opis:: These days, in a period of constant transformations, insecurity, wrongly understood freedom, disintegrating marriage, and also in the period of big expectations one can observe a growing interest in the family. One of the issues that one needs to recall, comprehend, and read again is responsible parenthood. Complete understanding of this concept influences marriage and family life. Responsible parenthood cannot be reduced only to the knowledge of natural methods and thus it should take into account the cognitive aspect. Responsible parenthood is achieved at the moral and religious plane. It is connected with the dignity of a person as a free human being. Responsible parenthood is expressed in the adoption of the consequences of actions because it is a measure of maturity. W dobie licznych przemian czy źle pojmowanej wolności, rozpadającej się instytucji małżeństwa, ale i wielkich nadziei wzrasta zainteresowanie rodziną. Stając w obliczu degradacji małżeństwa i rodziny, nie wolno bagatelizować problemów i nie reagować. Jedną z zasadniczych kwestii domagającą się przypomnienia, zrozumienia oraz ponownego odczytania jest odpowiedzialne rodzicielstwo. Właściwe zrozumienie tego zagadnienia wywiera znaczący wpływ na całokształt życia małżeńskiego i rodzinnego. Pomocne wydaje się przypomnienie podstawowych zadań rodziny nakreślonych przez papieża Jana Pawła II w Familiaris consortio. Należą do nich: tworzenie wspólnoty osób, służba życiu, udział w rozwoju społeczeństwa oraz uczestnictwo w życiu i posłannictwie Kościoła (por. FC 17). W służbę życiu wpisane jest odpowiedzialne rodzicielstwo.

Opis:: The purpose of the article is to analyze the arguments present in Humanae Vitae which found positive resonance in the writings of women adopting the papal teaching on the nature of human sexuality and sexual ethics. According to some women, in particular the new feminists, the logic of the papal teaching concerning contraception contributes to promoting the dignity and rights of women as well as responsible parenthood. In their view, contraception does not contribute to women’s rights. Instead, it rather exacerbates the imbalance between men and women as well as sanctions the man’s irresponsible and hedonistic attitude towards a woman. Using contraception is in a deep sense anti-ecological. It is both disrespectful of the nature of woman’s fertility and destructive of relations within the family. The responsible parenthood defined by the papal teaching and by his commentators (both men and women quoted in the article) means taking responsibility for one’s sexual acts and their possible effects. The analyzed authors claim that by defending the nature of love, the nature of human beings, and the nature of the objective moral order, the encyclical Humanae Vitae defends women by defending their nature against the arbitrariness of men or society.

Opis:: The author extracts from the Humanae Vitae encylical the thread of responsible parenthood. He asks about the situation of a child in family half a century after the publication of the papal document. He points towards a number of threats and disruptions in the adult-child relations, which result from an improper understanding of who a child is from the philosophical perspective. He opts for a development of philosophical reflection on a child and enriching it with new aspects. He reaches out for inspiration to the works by Janusz Korczak, which present an outline of the original philosophy of a child. What deserves particular recognition is the perception of a child as a “a project of a future man,” and not as a full-valued person who deserves appreciation of the contemporary ontic and social status. In the conclusion the author develops and clarifies Korczak’s controversial postulate of the “children’s right to death,” giving it a contemporary interpretation.

Opis:: Not only during the period of his Pontificate, but also during previous years, the activity of Karol Wojtyła is worth recalling, appreciating and internalizing, and his preached and written teaching on responsible parenthood should be put into practice. The teaching about man, love, marriage, and parenthood is still relevant today. However, there are both those who support them as well as those who oppose them, particularly, opponents who avoid moral principles, especially in the field of the transmission of life. Therefore, a question arises about the effects of Cardinal Wojtyła’s efforts to protect the dignity of a child and a woman – mother, as well as morality in the area of procreation. The victory of the truth, visible in the encyclical Humanae vitae promulgated by Paul VI, is a success, while the spread of demoralization experienced to this day by groups promoting abortion and contraception and especially the poor moral condition of future spouses and parents, creates new challenges.

Opis:: The article is devoted to the issue of responsible parenthood, which was formulated in the encyclical Humane Vitae by Paul VI in 1968. The content of the encyclical referred primarily to the issue of responsibility arising from fertilization. The author of the article relates the issue of parental responsibility to the care of a child with mild mental disability. Parental childcare is a consequence of calling the child to live. The author of the article analyses the issue of responsible parenting from the philosophical perspective and thus focuses on the recognition of the world of values by the parent-guardian of a person with intellectual disability. Close relationships with such a person require special spiritual, moral, and axiological sensitivity. The author of the article, in addition to the encyclical Humane Vitae, has been inspired by the reflections of Jean Vanier and Julia Kristeva on disability, resulting from two religious and secular perspectives.

Człowiek jako mężczyzna i kobieta otrzymał szczególne powołanie do życia w małżeństwie i rodzinie. To w nim ma dokonywać się tworzenie wspólnoty życia i miłości. Małżeństwo bowiem jest fundamentem dla rodziny. Rodzicielstwo z kolei winno być owocem wzajemnego osobowego obdarowania małżonków oraz ich współdziałania z Bogiem Stwórcą. Decyzja rodzicielska natomiast winna być wewnętrznym elementem małżeńskiego dialogu.Realizacja Bożego zamysłu wobec małżeństwa i rodziny prowadzi do szacunku dla ludzkiego życia oraz odpowiedzialności za nie.
Human life is endangered. In the modern world, there is a confrontation between the ‟culture of life” and the ‟culture of death”. How should a person behave in this context? He should choose life. This attitude results from the truth that God himself is the creator of human life and its nature. Man as a man and woman received a special vocation to live in marriage and family. It is in them that creation of a community of life and love is to take place. Marriage is the foundation for the family. Parenthood, in turn, should be the fruit of mutual spouses’ personal giving and their cooperation with God the Creator. Parental decision, on the other hand, should be an internal element ofa marital dialogue. The implementation of God’s plan for marriage and family leads to respect for human life and responsibility for it.

W rezultacie stają się równorzędnymi partnerami w procesie oceny i leczenia swoich własnych cykli. Naprotechnologia to także precyzyjna i spójna wiedza na temat rodziny i małżeństwa, którego istotnym aspektem jest nierozerwalność, pomimo trudności leczenia czy też ewentualnego negatywnego jego skutku. W ramach naprotechnologii opracowano indeks podstawowych wymiarów jedności małżeńskiej SPICE. Akronim ten pochodzi od angielskich słów, określających te płaszczyzny: spiritual, physical, intellectual, creative, emotional, a praca nad każdym z nich jest podejmowana podczas współpracy z instruktorem. Punktem wyjścia w omawianiu relacji małżeńskiej na bazie indeksu SPICE jest pojęcie kontaktu seksualnego. Jego definicja jest bardzo szeroka, a określana nimi więź dotyczy osób w ich całej cielesno-duchowej strukturze, angażując je w budowanie wspólnoty. Jednocześnie kontakt seksualny pozwala umieścić płodność człowieka we właściwym miejscu, podnosząc zasadniczo jakość całego życia. Kontakt seksualny dokonuje się na wszystkich płaszczyznach wymienionych w indeksie SPICE, dlatego wszystkie te obszary łączy w sobie i zespala.
NaProTechnology is an integrated and systematic system about treatment of marital infertility. It is based on an analysis of the transformations occurring in women’s bodies, where patients receive knowledge about fertility and analyze specific biomarkers. As a result, patients become equal partners in the process of assessment and treatment of their own cycles.NaProTechnology is also precise and consistent knowledge about family and marriage, of which indissolubility is an essential aspect, despite the difficulties of treatment, or its possible negative effect. SPICE index is an important part of NaProTechnology. The acronym comes from the English words: spiritual, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional. Work on each of these aspects is undertaken in cooperation with the instructor The starting point in discussiom about marital relationship is a definition of sexual contact, which is very wide. It consists of physical and mental structure of people involved in building the community. At the same time sexual contact can put the fertility of a man in the right place, improving essentially the quality of life. Sexual contact is made at all levels listed in the SPICE index, because all of these areas are united.

Opis:: Aspekty odpowiedzialnego rodzicielstwa, na które zwraca uwagę papież Paweł VI w encyklice Humanae vitae, stanowią ciekawą propozycję we współczesnym przepowiadaniu Dobrej Nowiny o małżeństwie i rodzinie. Podkreślenie ścisłego związku miłości z prokreacją może być także dzisiaj światłem w dialogu z niepłodnymi małżonkami. Sama prokreacja powinna być postrzegana jako owoc miłości małżeńskiej. Stwierdzenie, że przekazywanie życia znajduje swe przedłużenie przede wszystkim w dziele wychowania, nie ogranicza się tylko do perspektyw doczesności, lecz ma odniesienie do wiecznego przeznaczenia ludzkiego. Wskazane przez papieża treści należy jednak umieć przekazać językiem zrozumiałym dla młodego człowieka, wykorzystując także całą współczesną wiedzę z zakresu antropologii personalistycznej oraz innych nauk o człowieku. Tylko wówczas nauczanie Kościoła o odpowiedzialnym rodzicielstwie będzie ważnym elementem nowej ewangelizacji.
A range of issues associated with responsible parenthood and presented in Pope Paul VI’s encyclical letter Humanae vitae seems to be an interesting proposal for proclaiming good news about marriage and family to contemporary people. With regard to man's innate drives and emotions, responsible parenthood means that man's reason and will must exert control over them. However, marriage and conjugal love are by their nature ordained not only toward the procreation, but also education of children. This, in turn, is not limited only to life on earth, but also to eternity. Focusing on intrinsic relationship between marital act and procreation can be used in a dialogue with infertile married people. However, it has to be presented in a comprehensible way for young people by resorting to personalistic anthropology and a range of branches of science devoted to mankind so that they could understand that in the procreative faculty the human mind discerns biological laws that apply to the human person. Only then will the teaching of the Church about responsible parenthood become a powerful tool in new evangelization.

Opis:: Artykuł traktuje o pryncypialnym aspekcie odpowiedzialnego rodzicielstwa, za który uznaje się podjęcie w dialogu małżeńskim i konsekwentną realizację w postawach rodzicielskich decyzji o wyborze naturalnego planowania rodziny jako metody regulacji poczęć. Analiza problemu badawczego została rozłożona na cztery etapy. Najpierw przedstawiono podstawy teologiczne, biblijne i antropologiczne odpowiedzialnego rodzicielstwa. Na drugim etapie ukazano wielorakie konteksty decyzji rodzicielskiej z perspektywy uwarunkowań dialogu małżeńskiego. W dalszej części przedłożono walory teologiczne, etyczne i psychologiczne metod naturalnego planowania rodziny. Finalnie podjęto próbę sprecyzowania istoty decyzji rodzicielskiej, która implikuje stosowanie przez małżonków naturalnych metod regulacji poczęć. Kluczem hermeneutycznym, spinającym całość analiz teologicznych pracy, stała się kategoria daru osobowego małżonków. W kontekście sformułowanych wniosków ukazano etyczny, antropologiczny, teologiczny, charyzmatyczny i kultyczno-liturgiczny wymiar decyzji rodzicielskiej określającej strategię planowania rodziny przez małżonków.
The article deals with a principled aspect of responsible parenthood, the decision to choose natural family planning as a method of birth control within the marital dialogue, and its consistent implementation through parental attitudes. The analysis of the research problem proceeds via four stages. First, the foreground lays out the solid theological, biblical and anthropological foundations of responsible parenthood. The second stage explores the multiple contexts of parental decisions, from the perspective of the determinants of marital dialogue. Next follows a presentation of the theological, ethical and psychological values of the natural family planning methods. Finally, an attempt is made to specify the essence of the parental decision, which implies the use of natural methods of birth control by the spouses. The hermeneutic key linking all the theological analysis of the article has been the concept of a personal gift on the part of the spouses. The conclusions we have formulated encompass the many dimensions – ethical, anthropological, theological, charismatic, and cultic-liturgical – of a married couple’s decision regarding a family planning strategy.

Opis:: The article verifies the key issues from the area of contemporary fertility. Its main purpose is to describe the phenomenon of “fertility regression” and point to activities undertaken by the Church to help marriages that perform procreative functions and undertake responsible parenthood. Structural components of this concept are knowledge about parental roles, their functions, responsibilities, ways of interaction between young spouses and with the future child; the presence of empathic ability, a positive attitude to future family’s new responsibilities, the desire to consciously and responsibly identify marital and parental feelings; the presence of elementary everyday skills necessary for future married life, and so on. Special attention is paid to highlighting the ways of preparing teachers of general secondary education institutions for the formation of readiness for responsible parenthood among high school students as one of the pedagogical conditions that can ensure that high school students reach the necessary level of formation of the outlined phenomenon. One of the key elements of achieving a high level of education of schoolchildren, in particular the formation of readiness for responsible parenthood among high school students, is a positive image of a teacher, which determines the desire of high school students to master family values and the effectiveness of this process. The success of a teacher’s work largely depends on qualities of a «teacher of the future», who sees each child as an independent person who is constantly changing, developing, has the right to self-affirmation, and so on. In order to provide classroom teachers, school psychologists and social workers with the necessary competencies in the theory and methodology of forming the outlined phenomenon in high school students, a program of pedagogical support for teachers was developed. Main stages of working with teachers of general secondary education institutions are considered, namely: organizational and analytical, informational, practical, evaluative and effective. As a part of the implementation of the program, various forms of work with teachers and the use of innovative methods of teaching adults are provided. The most appropriate, in educational terms, means of working with teachers were reflexive and emotionally rich forms and methods. For this purpose various technologies of communication with teachers for practical solutions to the problems of forming the readiness of high school students for responsible parenthood were used, the use of such technologies in working with students and parents was recommended.
У статті висвітлюється сутність, структурні компоненти, а також педагогічні умови формування готовності до відповідального батьківства у старшокласників закладів загальної середньої освіти. Готовність старшокласників до відповідального батьківства розглядається як психологічний феномен, що охоплює інтегральну сукупність певних ознак, притаманних старшокласникам як майбутнім батькам відповідно до узвичаєних у соціумі норм, стандартів, вимог, які забезпечують у майбутньому здатність свідомо планувати майбутнє подружнє життя та народження дітей, а також свідомий прояв відповідальності за дитину та ефективне виконання подружніх і батьківських ролей. Структурними компонентами цього поняття є знання щодо батьківських ролей, їхніх функцій, відповідальності, способи взаємодії між молодим подружжям та з майбутньою дитиною; наявність емпатійної здатності, позитивного ставлення до майбутніх сімейних нових обов’язків, прагнення свідомо і відповідально виявляти подружні й батьківські почуття; наявність елементарних побутових вмінь, необхідних для майбутнього подружнього життя тощо. Особлива увага надається висвітленню шляхів підготовки педагогів закладу загальної середньої освіти до формування у старшокласників готовності до відповідального батьківства як однієї з педагогічних умов, спроможної забезпечити досягнення старшокласниками необхідного рівня сформованості окресленого феномену. Одним із ключових елементів досягнення високого рівня вихованості школярів, зокрема формування у старшокласників готовності до відповідального батьківства, є позитивний імідж педагога, який зумовлює бажання старшокласників до опанування сімейними цінностями та результативність цього процесу. Успіх роботи педагога значною мірою залежить від якостей «учителя майбутнього», який бачить у кожній дитині самостійну особистість, яка постійно змінюється, розвивається, має право на самоствердження тощо. З метою надання класним керівникам, шкільним психологам, соціальним працівникам необхідних компетенцій з теорії та методики формування окресленого феномену у старшокласників було розроблено програму педагогічного супроводу для педагогів. Розглянуто основні етапи проведення роботи з педагогами закладів загальної середньої освіти, а саме: організаційно-аналітичний, інформаційний, практичний, оцінно-результативний. У межах впровадження Програми передбачено різні форми роботи з педагогами та використання інноваційних методів навчання дорослих. Найбільш доцільними у виховному плані засобами роботи з педагогами виступили рефлексивні й емоційно насичені форми й методи З цією метою застосовували різноманітні технології спілкування з педагогами для практичного вирішення проблем формування готовності старшокласників до відповідального батьківства, рекомендували застосування таких технологій у роботі з учнями та батьками.

Opis:: Contemporary socio-cultural changes and the mentality associated mainly with individualism have a significant impact on marriage and family. This is manifested not only in the change of the concept of marriage and family, but also in delaying the decision of marriage, alternative forms of marital life, acceptance of divorces and infidelity, as well as transformation in the understanding and realization of the procreative function of marriage. The report published by CBOS in January 2010 presenting the results of the studies on the procreation attitudes of Poles shows that the vast majority of respondents under 30 years of age are planning to have an offspring, but there are also those who do not intend to have children. There are many reasons for this approach to procreation, and the phenomenon of voluntary exclusion of children from marital life is referred to as childfree by choice. Although childlessness affects nowadays many marriage couples, and it has its roots in various biological and social reasons, being childfree by choice is a conscious attitude of exclusion offspring from marital life, in a situation where parenting is possible, based on different motives and not just for some defined period of time in marriage, but for the whole martial life. The phenomenon of childfree by choice is the subject of researches of various sciences, including sociology, psychology, anthropology, cultural studies and philosophy. The childfree by choice, understood as a specific attitude to formation of marital life, is also an interest of moral theology, especially of its important branch which is the morality of marriage and family life. The following text is an attempt to assess the problem of the childfree by choice from the perspective of catholic moral theology and its confrontation with the core values associated with the meaning of marriage and family life. One of the fundamental values of marriage is the vocation of spouses to parenthood, the negation of which is the attitude to the childfree by choice. Another problem that arises in connection with the conscious resignation by spouses of parenting is the understanding of the nature of spousal love, which is the foundation of marriage. Childfree by choice is an attitude justified by the spouses with different reasons, including responsibility, which makes it important to confront the issue from the perspective of the concept closely connected with married life, namely responsible parenthood. Marriage and the fulfillment of its procreative function is for the catholic moral theology an important social value, consequently also from this point of view the attitude of conscious choice of childfree in marriage was analyzed.

Opis:: Z punktu widzenia teologii moralnej konieczne wydaje się przebadanie istoty odpowiedzialnego rodzicielstwa w duchu następujących wymiarów. Aspekt religijny wskazuje małżonkom na moralną odpowiedzialność widzenia w każdym akcie prokreacji zbawczego planu Boga Stwórcy. Moralny aspekt oznacza, że odpowiedzialna postawa rodzicielstwa ma się realizować poprzez małżonków za pomocą właściwie formowanego sumienia, by postępowali zgodnie z naturalnymi normami moralnymi i z powołaniem wynikającym z Bożego Objawienia. Wymiar poznawczy, dotyczący biologicznego wymiaru życia ludzkiego, wskazuje na pierwszorzędne Boże obdarowanie człowieka konkretnymi zdolnościami biologicznymi, które powinien on wykorzystać w zgodzie ze swoją naturą. Wolitywny aspekt wskazuje na nieodzowność opanowania własnych popędów oraz namiętności za pomocą rozumu i woli, do czego też małżonkowie (rodzice) są powołani jako istoty rozumne i wolne. Aspekt społeczny podkreśla dialogiczny wymiar życia małżonków w kierunku społeczności w kontekście dobra wspólnego. Chrześcijańscy rodzice są zobowiązani uwzględnić swoje niepowtarzalne warunki, w których przeżywają rodzinną wspólnotę osób. przy czym warunki te mogą mieć charakter różnego rodzaju.
From the point of view of moral theology it seems necessary to study the essence of responsible parenthood in the spirit of the following dimensions. The religious aspect draws the spouses’ attention to their moral responsibility to see in each act of procreation the salvific plan of God the Creator. The moral aspect means that a responsible parental attitude is supposed to be realized through the spouses by way of a properly formed conscience, so that they could behave in conformity with the natural moral norms and with the calling that results from Divine Revelation. The cognitive dimension, concerning the biological dimension of human life, indicating as of primary importance man’s endowment by God with concrete biological capacities; he should use them in conformity with his nature. The volitive aspect indicates the indispensable task to control one’s own drives and passions by means of reason and will. Spouses (parents) are called to it as rational and free creatures. The social aspect stresses the dialogical dimension of life towards community in the context of the common good. Christian parents are obliged to take into consideration their unique conditions in which they experience the family community of persons, assuming that the conditions can have the character of a different kind.

Opis:: Duszpasterskie towarzyszenie małżonkom w odpowiedzialnym rodzicielstwie należy do istotnych zadań tej zbawczej działalności Kościoła. Małżonkowie zaproszeni przez Boga do realizacji powołania rodzicielskiego oczekują na wsparcie płynące ze strony duszpasterzy. Wsparcie to jest realizowane przez kapłanów poprzez przepowiadanie słowa Bożego, parafialne poradnictwo rodzinne, posługę kierownictwa duchowego i wsparcia modlitewnego czy też w procesie pedagogizacji. Przeprowadzone wśród prezbiterów badania dowiodły, że wysoki odsetek księży deklaruje gotowość duszpasterskiego towarzyszenia małżonkom w dziele odpowiedzialnego rodzicielstwa. Częściej tak uważają zwłaszcza kapłani starsi, powyżej 36. roku życia, mający większe doświadczenie posługiwania dla małżeństw. Wyzwanie wsparcia duszpasterskiego małżonków w odpowiedzialnym rodzicielstwie stanowią kapłani młodsi, do 35 roku życia.
Pastoral accompaniment of spouses in responsible parenthood is one of the important tasks of this salvific activity of the Church. Spouses invited by God to pursue their parental vocation await the support of pastors. This support is realized by priests through the preaching of the word of God, parish family counseling, the ministry of spiritual direction and prayer support, or in the process of pedagogy. Surveys among presbyters have shown that a high percentage of priests declare their willingness to accompany their spouses in the work of responsible parenthood. More often than not, priests from the age of 36 years of age, who have more experience in ministering to married couples, consider it this way. The challenge of pastoral support for spouses in responsible parenthood is faced by younger priests up to 35 years of age.
