About the tasks of the contemporary communication ethics from Dolf Sternberger’s post-war reflection perspective on communication morality The aim of the publication is to analyze the tasks of the contemporary discourse of the communication ethics in relation to post-war reflection of the German journalist Dolf Sternberger concerning the moral use of language and to point out new research and didactic perspectives of this discourse. The author turns reader’s attention to the need to justify moral communication rules, primarily on the personalistic basis recognizing interpersonal communication as personal participation of language users in a given community. Moreover, he states that the task of communication ethics as an academic discipline is, among other things, to establish criteria for describing speech actions in relation to highly regarded values and those protected by law and to identify mechanisms of unethical use of language. According to him, communication ethics as a didactic discipline should promote values on which moral use of language is based, show effects of unethical speech actions and among others, propagate desirable ways of using a word on a moral basis.

The article aims at presenting children’s and youth books published in 2013, 2014 and 2015 by the publishing house called ‘Poławiacze Pereł’. The author analyses the content of three short stories: The Zebra by Ifi Ude, Bahar Means Spring by Agnieszka Aysen Kaim and Tales Under the Olive Tree by Aida Amer. The article author presents her considerations on multiculturalism as a subject of Polish education. The students’ comprehension of ‘otherness’ may enable them to respect and accept the differences in race, appearance, religion, behaviour, culture, clothing and preferences.

Celem artykułu jest określenie relacji: ryzyko-dochód na przy¬kładzie spółek Indeksu RESPECT. Zależność tę przedstawiono na mapie ryzyko-dochód, czyli wykresie korelacyjnym stopy zwrotu i odchylenia standardowego. Punktem odniesienia dla badanej relacji jest Warszawski Indeks Giełdowy, indeks RESPECT i WIG-Poland. Dane empiryczne stanowią miesięczne kursy akcji 23. spółek notowanych na GPW w okresie od 19 listopada 2009 r. do 31 maja 2016 roku.
The aim of this article is to determine the risk-return relationship on the example of RESPECT Index companies. This relationship is presented on the map risk-returs i.e. correlation graph of the rate of return and the standard deviation. The reference point for the study is Warsaw Stock Exchange Index, RESPECT index and WIG-Poland. Empirical data are monthly rates shares of 23 companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange from 19th of November 2009 to 31st of May 2016.

Interpersonal communication is a social process between individuals. It is charac-terized by a specific dynamism, because it consists of the reception, acceptance, understanding and interpretation of information, which takes place in the community of participants of the cycle. It is an irreversible phenomenon that accompanies people from birth to death. Its indispensable element and durable bond should be respect. Regarding to the educational relationship based on respect, communication should be considered as one of the predictors of its quality.

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie ewolucji celu działalności przedsiębiorstwa, wskazanie nowego kierunku działań współczesnych przedsiębiorstw i pomiaru celu działalności przedsiębiorstwa. Podstawowy cel działalności przedsiębiorstwa od lat 90-tych jest definiowany jako maksymalizacja wartości dla właścicieli. W obecnym czasie ten cel działalności przedsiębiorstwa jest uzupełniany o stwierdzenie, że maksymalizacja wartości w długim okresie jest tożsama ze społeczną odpowiedzialnością biznesu. Współcześni menedżerowie mają świadomość, że odpowiedzialności społeczna biznesu nie kłóci się z maksymalizacją wartości dla akcjonariuszy. Oznacza to, że przedsiębiorstwa powinny pracować nad produktami, które klienci zachcą kupować, wytwarzać te produkty wydajny sposób sprzedawać je po konkurencyjnych cenach i przestrzegać przepisów prawa związanych z ładem korporacyjnym. Spółki, które dobrze radzą sobie z maksymalizacją wartości swoich akcji, działają również w interesie społeczeństwa i przyczyniają się do budowania dobrobytu jego członków (Brigham, Houston 2015, s. 5, 11, 25). Na tle tych rozważań w artykule przedstawiono propozycje użyteczności miernika współczesnego celu działalności przedsiębiorstw funkcjonujących na rynku kapitałowym, którym może być Respect Index.
The aim of the article is to present the evolution of the company's activities, an indication of the new direction of the activities of modern enterprises and the measurement of the activity of the company. The primary objective of the company's activities from the 90s is defined as the maximization of value for the owners. At the present time, the goal of the company is completed with the statement that maximize long-term value is synonymous with corporate social responsibility. Today's managers are aware that corporate social responsibility is not at odds with maximizing shareholder value. This means that companies should work on products that customers want to buy, make these products efficient way to sell them at competitive prices and comply with the laws related to corporate governance. The companies that do well with maximizing the value of its shares, also operate in the interest of society be and contribute to the welfare of its members (Brigham, 2015, Houston, s. 5, 11, 25). Against the background of these considerations, the paper presents proposals utility meter to the modern business enterprises operating in the capital market, which may be the Respect Index.

The current age is witnessing the depreciation of the value of innocent human life in the context of medicine and biotechnology. A principal issue concerns human embryos which may be conceived unnaturally through in vitro fertilization. Some of them are destined to be born and lead normal lives. However the majority of them are killed either through the very procedure of IVF or subsequently as subjects of various forms of experimentation. The Roman Catholic Church strives to protect human embryos. Her moral teaching addresses the problem continuously; however the most fervent teaching concerning this problem is John Paul II’s encyclical letter Evangelium vitae. This encyclical explains the great value of innocent human life with reference to three fundamental theological statements: that the humans are the only beings created in God’s image and likeness, that they were redeemed by the passion, death, and resurrection of God’s Son, and that they are called to communion with God. This special relationship with God creates the human’s dignity and gives his life its particular value. Nobody has the authority to dispose of his/her life according to his/ her individual inclination any more than he has the authority to decide the same in the case of others. The life of any innocent human being which starts with conception may not be violated and nobody may be justified in killing innocent people. The killing of human embryos is the most common case of such killing in the current age.

The main objective of this inquiry is to examine the reach and influence of the Unconditional Norm throughout Karol Wojtyła’s thinking in order to understand the Wojtylian personalistic norm and to propose it as the basis for all social interactions. To this end, our primary method is obtained from the study of Kant’s Fundamental Principles of the Metaphysics of Morals, which exposes the theory of imperatives and in a special way is able to show, as opposed to utilitarianism, how it is that a person can never be a mere means, but is rather an end in itself. This Kantian concept had a profound impact on Wojtyła, who was also critical of utilitarian ethics and thus found great inspiration in the Kantian proposal. However, Wojtyła goes beyond the Kantian proposal because, although they coincide in many points, Wojtyła felt that the subject of experience was not sufficiently addressed, given that it had an a priori, and therefore insufficient, perspective of the personal self. Wojtyła’s Aristotelian-Thomist education, driven by the discovery of Max Scheler’s phenomenology, gave substance to a very original doctrine in both method and projection.

W ostatnich latach obserwowane jest w Polsce zjawisko stopniowego zwiększania się liczby przedstawicieli innych kultur, co wiąże się nierozerwalnie z nowymi zadaniami dla instytucji edukacyjnych. Z jednej strony szkoły muszą mierzyć się z napływem uczniów, dla których język i kultura polska nie są ojczystymi, a z drugiej z przygotowaniem polskich uczniów na spotkanie z innymi niż znają elementami kultury takimi jak język, zwyczaje, tradycje czy religia. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki polsko-islandzkiego projektu badawczego, którego celem było poznanie, jak uczniowie edukacji wczesnoszkolnej postrzegają wielokulturowość. W badaniach wykorzystano metody ilościowe (sondaż diagnostyczny) i jakościowe (analiza treści). Grupę badawczą stanowiło 141 uczniów, w tym 71 z Polski i 70 z Islandii. Badania realizowano od czerwca 2022 roku do marca 2023 roku. Wyniki pokazały, że zarówno miejsce zamieszkania, jak i doświadczenia edukacyjne (Islandia od wielu lat skutecznie stosuje systemowe rozwiązania inkluzji cudzoziemców) mają znaczący wpływ na to, jak uczniowie rozumieją i definiują wielokulturowość. Interesujące dla badaczy były analizy ukazujące, że niezależnie od miejsca zamieszkania dzieci w wieku wczesnoszkolnym cechuje otwarta postawa na kontakty międzykulturowe. Są one ciekawe innych kultur, chcą wymieniać się doświadczeniami i rozwijać swoją wiedzę z zakresu edukacji międzykulturowej.
In recent years, Poland has witnessed a gradual increase of foreign cultures, which is inextricably linked to a new challenge for educational institutions. On the one hand, schools have to face the influx of students for whom the Polish language and culture is not their mother tongue; on the other hand, they have to prepare Polish students for encounters with elements of culture other than their own, i.e. language, customs, traditions or religion. The article presents the results of a Polish-Icelandic research project, the aim of which was to learn the views of students of early childhood education on multiculturalism. Quantitative (diagnostic survey) and qualitative (content analysis) methods were used in the research. The research group consisted of 141 students, 71 from Poland and 70 from Iceland. The research was conducted from June 2022 to March 2023. The results showed that both the place of residence and the educational experience (Iceland has successfully applied systemic solutions to the integration of foreigners for many years) have a significant impact on how students understand and define multiculturalism. Of interest to the researchers were the analyses showing that, regardless of their place of residence, children of early school age are characterised by an open attitude towards intercultural contacts. Early school children are curious about other cultures, they want to exchange experiences and develop their knowledge in the field of intercultural education.

The main content of the article concerns the show of faith in the man’s approach to the reality of death. Dying is inscribed in human existence. And although it is a natural consequence of the passing of a man is a fundamental task, especially doctors, to care for his life. The deepest dimension becomes therapy. Which limits of the therapy can be used to form it adopted not persistent? And that in this respect the role to be played by faith? Faith, being a personal encounter with God that makes it able to look at his life on earth in terms of religious. And with that he takes a plane capabilities, the rational course of discernment, to make a decision – an example of John Paul II at the time of his death – as a further course of treatment, or omission. And here is revealed essential value of faith, which is expressed in the fact that the dying person is able to put the boundaries of therapy that it takes no persistent character.

In this article I thoroughly examine Miranda Fricker’s account of blame based on Communicative Blame as a paradigm explanation of the practice by focusing my attention on a non-central case: silent blame. I argue that this kind of instance has not been successfully connected with her selected paradigm case so I propose a different “focal meaning” or rationale to better accommodate it as part of the entire range of cases of the practice of blaming. I begin my argument drawing upon Herbert L.A. Hart’s methodology on central and borderline cases as a more accurate way to address the complex structure of the concept of blame, since this approach is sensitive to borderline cases as well. I also argue that, although marginal, silent blame fulfils a purpose which must too be vindicated. Thus, following Hart’s suggestion on the value of studying borderline cases, I propose a more accurate reframing of the general point of the practice of blame as a mechanism to secure respect for ourselves.

Na podstawie najnowszego orzecznictwa Europejskiego Trybunału Praw Człowieka, w szczególności na podstawie orzecze-nia w sprawie nr 97/11 Delta Pekárny przeciwko Republice Czeskiej autor przedstawia warunki zgodności kontroli i przeszukań służących uzyskiwaniu dowodów możliwych praktyk ogranicza-jących konkurencję z prawem do poszanowania życia prywatnego i mieszkania. Na tej podstawie formułowane są wnioski co do potrzeby nowelizacji polskich przepisów o warunkach podejmo-wania kontroli i przeszukań.
The article presents the conditions for the initiation of inspection or search in antitrust cases conducted under the Act on Competition and Consumer Protection and the requirements of Article 8 of the European Charter of Human Rights. Basing on the latest jurisprudence of the Court of Human Rights, in particular on judgement in case no. 97/11 Delta Pekárny a.s. v. the Czech Republic, the author presents conditions for compliance of inspections and searches aimed at obtaining evidence of possible anti-competitive practices with the right to respect for private life and home. On this basis the conclusions are made on the need for amendments in Polish law of provisions on the conditions for the initiation of inspection or search.

Opis:
According to the contemporary theory by Howard Gardner (2009: 26), despite the fact that the school curricula aim at European and global standardization, they do not prepare learners to living in the version of the future world that approaches us. Therefore, we should introduce new ways of teaching, since the current methods have proved to be ineffective. We should also establish new objectives as well as forming novel paths in education, new means of thinking and gaining knowledge, while keeping in mind the demands that the new world imposes on us. Gardner (ibid.) emphasizes the necessity of studying more than one discipline, apart from specializing in one field, in addition to developing the ability to integrate information, the need for creativity, treating others with respect and consolidating the ethos. The requirement underlying the fulfillment of these goals lies within our cognitive skills and relies on the enhancement of five minds: interdisciplinary, integrative, creative, respectful, and ethical. A reflection comes to mind then as to the necessity to gradually build up awareness in learners in order to achieve these objectives and enable them to excel in developing the five minds. Therefore, the Author refers to many methodologists and psycholinguists, who present various aspects accompanying the process of consciously instilling the need for the development of the five minds.
