W artykule przedstawiono analizę zasobów węgla kamiennego w Polsce według stanu na dzień 31.12.2011 r., w świetle założeń zrównoważonego rozwoju krajowego przemysłu wydobywczego. Dokonano szczegółowej analizy stanu bazy zasobowej zarówno co do zasobów bilansowych, przemysłowych, jak i operatywnych. Syntetycznie scharakteryzowano zasoby bilansowe i przemysłowe pod względem jakości węgla kamiennego i warunków zalegania pokładów, w tym węgli energetycznych i koksowych oraz ich wartości opałowej i zawartości siarki. W konkluzji przedstawiono wystarczalność zasobów węgla kamiennego w Polsce, przy założonym poziomie produkcji.
This article presents analysis of hard coal reserves in Poland as of 31 December 2011 in light of assumptions regarding sustainable development of Poland's mining industry. A detailed analysis was conducted of the resource base - the balance coal reserves as well as industrial and operational reserves. Balance coal reserves and industrial reserves have been characterised in terms of hard coal quality and conditions of coal bed occurrence, including steam and coking coal, as well as caloric value and sulphur content. The conclusions indicate the sufficiency of Poland's hard coal reserves, taking into account the assumed production level.

W konkluzji przedstawiono wystarczalność zasobów węgla kamiennego w Polsce przy założonym poziomie produkcji.
The article presents analysis of hard coal reserves in Poland as of 31 December 2012 in the light of sustainable development of Poland's mining industry. The detailed analysis of resource base as to balance coal resources as well as industrial and operational reserves has been made. Balance coal reserves and industrial reserves have been characterised in terms of hard coal quality and conditions of coal bed occurrence, including steam and coking coal, as well as their caloric value and sulphur content. The conclusions present life span of Poland's hard coal reserves given the assumed production level.

The operation of water supply networks basically relies on the ability of supply water, which in the case of groundwater intakes, is defined by usable reserves offered by the wells involved. Their establishing is the last stage of an investment, i.e. building of groundwater intakes, and their value determines the type of infrastructure and technological hardware in the wells. Owing to the fact that the usable groundwater reserves are conditioned by a number of factors (economic, technological, environmental) their correct determining depends on the correct definition of the number and quality of measurements and hydrogeological observations. In practice, these measurements tend to be shortened to minimum (test pumping) or discarded (diagnostics of well construction) for financial reasons. As a result the user obtains either over- or underestimated information about the intake parameters. Exploitation of a well with overestimated capacity brings about serious technological and economic consequences, starting from the lowered productivity (drop of water table, lower yield), change of chemical composition of water, sanding up of the well as well as well failures and damage. The use of a well with underrated output does not shorten the life of the well, though is disadvantageous for the economic reasons. The productivity of wells can be verified after a few years of controlled extraction, on the basis of which the cost of water extraction, stability of chemical composition or impact on other intakes in given work conditions. Accordingly, this is a basis for updating usable groundwater reserves of the wells. Moreover, after many years of observation of groundwater intakes, one can formulate recommendations warrantying long life of wells, rational management of pump aggregates and well renovation plans.

Kapitały rezerwowe pełnią ważną rolę w spółkach kapitałowych jako rezerwuar dodatkowych zasileń po stronie własnych źródeł finansowania jednostki. Określa się je więc mianem rezerw kapitałowych. Ich wpływ ujawnia się w miarę rozwoju przedsiębiorstw, gdy wzrasta niepewność i ryzyko towarzyszące decyzjom podejmowanym nie tylko na szczeblu lokalnym, ale coraz częściej w wymiarze globalnym. W tej sytuacji szczególnego znaczenia nabiera obecność kapitału rezerwowego i jego odmian w stabilizacji działalności gospodarczej jednostek.
Capital reserves play an important role in companies as a source of additional entities owned funds. Hence, they are known as capital reserves. Their influence is revealed along with the development of enterprises, when uncertainty and risk accompanying decisions made at the local level, but more often on a global scale increases. In this situation, the presence of particular capital reserves and its variants for the stabilization of enterprises economic activity is of great importance.

This paper presents data on the occurrence of lichens in xerothermic grasslands, representing a great mycological peculiarity of the NW part of Pomerania, Poland. The 12 examined specimens of six species originated from fieldwork carried out in 2011–2014 in the nature reserves Brodogóry, Stary Przylep, Bielinek, Wrzosowiska Cedyńskie, Prof. Adam Wodziczko Nature Reserve in the Wolin National Park, and an old chalk excavation site on Wolin Island. Within the study sites, four lichen species were recorded as a new to Western Pomerania: Agonimia gelatinosa, Collema cristatum, Dermatocarpon luridum, and Leptogium subtile. The other two species, Collema auriforme and C. flaccidum, are rarely observed in the studied region.

On the turn of the 1980s and 1990s several unfavourable events affected the Polish hard coal mining. Critical for the mining sector were breakdown of the country's request for energy and drop of coal prices on the world market. In the period of 1989-1998, Poland's economic reserves (balance sheet resources) of hard coal decreased by 17%, and the industrial reserves dropped by 41%. Simultaneously, there was and there is still in progress a programme of technical and economic restructuring of the hard coal mining. According to the restructuring programme of coal mining, the total yearly output of Polish hard coalmines will drop from 101 million t in 2003 to 80 million t in 2020. However, there should be taken into consideration that in consequence of 2003-2020 liquidation of consecutive coalmines, ceasing of mining of the coal balance sheet reserves contained in seams below 1.50 m thick as well as other factors may limit the recoverable reserves of coal. In this context, it is highly possible that in the period 2010-2020 the availability of coal resources will be one of the critical problems of hard coal mining in Poland.

The paper presents the methodology of economic evaluation of coalbed methane exploitation in coal mines. The methodology consists of seven phases, which analyse: gassy conditions of coal deposit, coal exploitation scope, ventilation conditions of underground workings, productivity of degasification system as well as economics of both coal exploitation and methane recovery. In the result of the analyses classification, of methane resources and their subdivision into economic reserves and potentially economic resources can be done on the ground of either economic findings or methane content figures. The analyses also show, that methane extraction is always economic, but it can be proved only, if profit resulted coal exploitation during degasification is taken into account.

This study investigates the demand for international reserves in Ukraine and its structural change in the wake of the 2008-2009 financial crisis in the context of a univariate error correction model (ECM). We find a time-invariant demand for international reserves in the short-run, with the inverse relationship with the volatility of international transactions, exchange rate depreciation and the excessive money stock and the positive link to imports and crisis developments. However, the long-term relationships are not stable over time, except for the effects of the money disequilibrium and crisis disturbances. The exchange rate depreciation and electoral cycle contribute to a depletion of reserves during the post-crisis period only. The adjustment of actual reserves to their long-run relationships is quite rapid.

This is the fi rst study on the woodlouse fauna of from 5 nature reserves in the Mazowian Lowland (Bukowiec Jabłonowski, Mosty Kalińskie, Łosiowe Błota, Jezioro Kiełpińskie, Klimonty) and from 2 nature reserves in the Pomeranian Lake District (Ustronie, Dolina Huczka) are presented. A total of 8 species of woodlice were found. The number of collected species ranged from 1 (Dolina Chuczka, Mosty Kalińskie, Klimonty) to 5 (Łosiowe Błota). The most common species in the all studied reserves was Trachelipus rathkii.

The main objective of the study is to examine the relationship between the implemented reserves policy and the value of accruals reported in the financial statements of public companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Both research fields are considered as the main areas of earnings management, which can be seen both as the pursuance of a true and fair view of the economic situation of a business entity and as the intentional manipulation of the results of an economic activity in order to mislead selected stakeholders of company. Empirical studies were conducted among public companies included in the WIG20, mWIG40 and sWIG80 stock indices, whose shares have been traded on the stock market for at least 10 years in the assumed horizon of 1997-2016.

Przedstawiono polskie wymagania w zakresie dokumentowania złóż i wykonywania projektów zagospodarowania złóż, oraz takie wymagania sformułowane w kodeksach wzorowanych na JORC, które mają uznanie międzynarodowe, w szczególności w kanadyjskim NI 43-101. Wymagania te są podobnie formułowane. Różnice wynikają z różnego celu dokumentowania zasobów (inwentaryzacji bazy zasobowej w Polsce i działalności inwestycyjnej w przypadku JORC). W wyniku porównania międzynarodowych standardów wykazywania zasobów złóż kopalin stałych ze standardami stosowanymi w Polsce wskazane zostały kierunki usprawnienia polskich zasad dokumentowania złóż.
The Polish and international JORC Code of reporting resources and reserves were presented. Attention was paid to the Canadian National Instrument (NI 43-101). They are formulated in the similar way. They differ due to varied purpose of reporting: inventory of resource base in Poland and public disclosure of resources and reserves data for investment purposes in the case of JORC based codes. The mode of improvement of the Polish reporting system was proposed to make it comparable with the internationally accepted one.

During the early part of 1999 Steffen, Robertson and Kirsten (UK) Ltd (SRK) were commissioned by Price Waterhouse Coopers to carry out the technical due diligence study of the Bogdanka Coal Mine as part of their contract with the Treasury Ministry of Poland for pre-privatisation analysis. A visit was undertaken by four experienced consultants specialising in the fields of geology, mining, coal preparation and environment. The team also undertook a review of management, manning levels, performance and other broad issues affecting the operation of the mine. In this paper the author outlines the general geology of the mine, and attempts to show how an experienced consultant comes to terms with a meaningful assessment of a mine and coalfield of which he has little or no previous knowledge, particularly given the very short time available for the commission.The relevance of such aspects as mineral rights and concessions, the exploration history, cover deposits, coal bearing strata, geological structure, coal quality and potential hazards to the assessment will be examined. The assessment of reserves and resources to standards acceptable to international banking organisations will be looked at in more detail. Finally some of the critical non-geological factors of the assessment will be outlined.
