Artykuł omawia rezultaty badań nad terminologią logopedyczną. W wyniku analizy materiału zawartego w “Encyklopedii logopedii” i wybranych słownikach terminów logopedycznych wytypowano 33 terminy, których frekwencję w literaturze przedmiotu oceniono jako niską. Postawione pytania badawcze to m.in.: Czy wytypowane terminy logopedyczne są znane przez: (a) studentów logopedii, (b) logopedów-praktyków. Czy (a) studenci logopedii, (b) logopedzi-praktycy znają definicję słownikową wytypowanych terminów logopedycznych. W celu odpowiedzi na pytania badawcze przeprowadzono ankietę, w której znalazły się m.in. pytania o znajomość terminów oraz ich rozumienie. Przeprowadzone badania wskazują na potrzebę dalszego opisu terminologii logopedycznej nie tylko ze względu na zróżnicowany poziom jej znajomości, ale też aktualności i rozpowszechnienia.
The article presents the results of research on speech therapy terminology. The analysis covered 33 terms, the frequency of which was assessed as low. The main research questions were: “Are the selected speech therapy terms familiar to: a. speech therapy students, b. speech therapists-practioners?”. “Have a. students, b. therapists been acquainted with dictionary definitions of selected speech therapy terms?”. To answer the research questions, a survey was conducted. It included questions about the knowledge and understanding of the terms. The results suggest the need for a more detailed description of speech therapy terminology due to not only the varying levels of its familiarity, but also its timeliness and pervasiveness.

The article is a comparative analysis of the national identity of Belarusians and Lithuanians. The authors present in turn the complex processes of the formation of national identity of two groups, show their specificities in the historical, cultural and social dimensions, point to the differences and similarities, which emerge on the basis of the review of Belarusian, Lithuanian and international social research, conducted in 2010–2022. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Lithuania and Belarus took different paths, which influenced the formation of a more consistent model of national identity for Lithuanians and complex and ambivalent one for Belarusians.

Empirical processes based on data from secondary or primary sources are characteristic of research in social sciences in the discipline of economics and finance. The difference between the two forms lies in the use of extraneous or so-called proprietary, or author’s data in the analysis. Primary research is a research process in which the author of the study conducts research using proprietary measurement tools created for the study and with reference to the adopted research method. In the field of economics, mainly quantitative methods are used and the most egalitarian method is the survey method, while the research technique - survey questionnaires. In this publication, the authors presented a typology of quantitative research methods used in the discipline of economics and finance.
Procesy empiryczne oparte na danych pochodzących ze źródeł wtórnych lub pierwotnych są charakterystyczne dla badań w naukach społecznych, w dyscyplinie ekonomia i finanse. Różnica między tymi dwoma formami polega na wykorzystaniu w analizie odpowiednio danych obcych lub tzw. autorskich. Badania pierwotne to proces badawczy, w którym autor opracowania prowadzi badania z wykorzystaniem autorskich narzędzi pomiarowych, stworzonych na potrzeby badania i w odniesieniu do przyjętej metody badawczej. W dziedzinie ekonomii stosowane są głównie metody ilościowe, a najbardziej egalitarną metodą jest metoda ankietowa, z kolei techniką badawczą - kwestionariusze ankietowe. W niniejszej publikacji autorzy przedstawili typologię ilościowych metod badawczych stosowanych w dysycplinie ekonomii i finansów.

Currently, machine learning is being significantly used in almost all of the research domains; however, its applicability in survey research is still in its infancy. In this paper, we attempt to highlight the applicability of machine learning in survey research while working on two different aspects in parallel. First, we introduce a pattern-based transformation method for ordinal survey data. Our purpose for developing such a transformation method is two-fold: our transformation facilitates the easy interpretation of ordinal survey data and provides convenience while applying standard machine-learning approaches; and second, we demonstrate the application of various classification techniques over real and transformed ordinal survey data and interpret their results in terms of their suitability in survey research. Our experimental results suggest that machine learning coupled with a pattern-recognition paradigm has tremendous scope in survey research.

Dzięki wykorzystaniu wirtualnego środowiska do prowadzenia szkoleń pracownik może dokładnie zobaczyć, poczuć i „przeżyć” określone scenariusze, sytuacje wypadkowe i poznać, jakie mogą nastąpić konsekwencje w przypadku nieprawidłowego zachowania się w środowisku pracy. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań ankietowych dotyczących możliwości zastosowania wirtualnej rzeczywistości w szkoleniach w dziedzinie bezpieczeństwa i higieny pracy w budownictwie.
Virtual reality is a world created using computer techniques to create simulations of real-world phenomena and is increasingly used in many industries. Thanks to the use of the virtual training environment, an employee can see, feel and ‘survive’ certain scenarios, accident situations in detail and learn what the consequences may be if they behave incorrectly in the work environment. This paper presents the results of a survey on the feasibility of using virtual reality in health and safety training in the construction industry.

Purpose: The objective of the article is to present the quality of life in terms of residents in the example of a large city. Design/methodology/approach: Research was carried out remotely using an online questionnaire. A diagnostic survey method was used with the residents. The research topics are related to the quality of life of the residents, based on the current state of life and factors influencing the quality of life. Findings: The study found that the quality of life has a significant impact on the functioning of residents in their private and professional lives regarding living conditions in a large city. The conducted research shows that there are many problems related to the quality of life of the residents and that information on their existence may be valuable information for Municipal Office. Social implications: Social implications of the research were indicated. Attention was paid to the benefits of research for improving the quality of life in the city. Originality/value: The study highlights the need for comprehensive quality of life research conducted among residents. Methods of obtaining data from residents were proposed to Municipal Offices and the conditions for their use for the city's development were defined.

Public transport services are an example of important category for the implementation of key activities by the local community. These services enable the movement of residents and guests visiting destinations and provide access to city elements of the settlement. The aim of the article is to identify the reasons for using public transport services in Cracow in the group of respondents. Selected characteristics of public transport are outlined on the basis of an analysis of the published literature. Particular attention was paid to the offer of Cracow’s public transport. The study presents the results of surveys conducted by an online diagnostic survey among users of the surveyed services. The aim of the research was to identify the reasons why the respondents use Cracow’s public transport services are: the lack of a car, a travel allowance and an attractive connection network turned out to be a group of key reasons for using the analyzed services. The results indicate the need to continuously improve the level of functioning of Cracow’s public transport by: information about vehicle delays, improving the operation of ticket vending machines, and by providing a regular number of conn.

Opis:
Research background: For many years, the authors have been dealing with the issues of student inventiveness and the related innovation and creativity. The presented work refers to the sources, understood as shaping the pro-engineering attitudes of young people, which in effect translates into the creation of new, often innovative solutions in the field of technology. Purpose: The aim of the research is to identify activities related to knowledge in the field of science and technology during the period of attendance at secondary school. These activities include knowledge and skills acquired at school and other relationships between young people and science and technology resulting from passions and passions. An additional goal is to indicate proposals for development in this area, mainly concerning the teaching process. Methodology: The source of data for the conducted analyses are the results of surveys conducted in 2021. The analysis of the acquired data was carried out using the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method. The AHP method, by incorporating expert opinions, allows you to achieve an additional goal. This is an original approach to the analysis and interpretation of survey results. It will not replace classical statistical analyses of varying complexity, but it can be a kind of complement. Findings: The implementation of the research indicated a significant interest of young people in the issues of science and technology, and the obtained data allowed to take a comprehensive look at the education of young people in this area and present suggestions for the modification of teaching forms. This may contribute to reducing the shortage of engineering staff and researchers creating new innovative solutions in many countries. This will be an important factor in economic development based on innovative technologies.

W artykule przestawiono wyniki badania socjolingwistycznego, przeprowadzonego w 2019 roku wśród młodzieży polskiego i niepolskiego pochodzenia, która uczy się razem w klasach przeznaczonych dla polskiej mniejszości narodowej w Ogólnokształcącej Szkole Średniej Nr 3 (obecnie Liceum Nr 3) w Iwano-Frankiwsku (dawnym Stanisławowie). Przeprowadzono 170 ankiet dotyczących statusu języka polskiego wśród młodzieży w wieku 12–17 lat, która uczy się w klasach z polskim językiem nauczania. Zgodnie ze statutem szkoły w tych klasach mają prawo uczyć się także uczniowie, którzy nie mają polskiego pochodzenia. Dla grupy uczniów polskiego pochodzenia – 42 uczniów (25% od ogólnej liczby ankietowanych) – język polski ma status języka odziedziczonego, języka przodków, a także status ekonomiczny, język polski jest powiązany z nauką w przyszłości i życiem w Polsce. Dla grupy uczniów niepolskiego pochodzenia – 128 uczniów (75% od ogólnej liczby ankietowanych) – język polski ma status ekonomiczny i status języka polskiego jako drugiego języka obcego nauczania; około 40% tych uczniów wiąże swoją przyszłość z emigracją do Polski.
This article presents the results of a sociolinguistic survey of 2019 conducted among the youth of Polish and non-Polish descent studying together in classes dedicated to the Polish national minority in the 3rd Upper-Secondary School in Ivano-Frankivsk (formerly: Stanyslaviv). The survey was composed of 170 questionnaires concerning the status of the Polish language among the youth aged 12–17 studying in classes with Polish as the language of instruction. Under the statute of the School, pupils of non-Polish descent may also study in such classes. For the group of pupils of Polish descent, i.e. 42 pupils (25% of the total number of respondents), Polish has the status of an inherited language, the language of ancestors, and the economic status, Polish is associated with studying and living in Poland in the future. For the group of pupils of non-Polish descent, i.e. 128 pupils (75% of the total number of respondents), Polish has the economic status and the status of Polish as a second foreign language of instruction; around 40% of the pupils intend to emigrate to Poland in the future.

Opis:
On the eve of 2020, and the fifth anniversary of the publication of the Encyclical Letter - Laudato Si’. On the care for the common home at the Catholic University of Croatia, the scientific-professional project CRO Laudato Si’ was launched. The project team was composed of scientists from different disciplines, and the project partners were the National Fraternity of the Franciscan Secular Order and the Franciscan Youth. As part of the project, scientific and practical activities were carried out. One of the main scientific activities was empirical scientific research, which was conducted, using a survey method over several months in 2020. The paper will present the results of the research, related to the role of the project in the knowledge of the encyclical Laudato Si’ and the awakening of interest in the encyclical, according to the socio-demographic characteristics of the respondents. The results show that men have heard of the encyclical Laudato Si’ to a somewhat greater extent than women. The largest number of respondents, who heard about the encyclical for the first time through the project, are those who belong to the youngest age group, followed by those with high school education. Arousing interest in Encyclical Letter topics is more encouraged among women, those over 65 years old, respondents with completed primary school, and those who are self-employed or retired.
U progu 2020 roku, w piątą rocznicę opublikowania encykliki Laudato Si’. W trosce o wspólny dom na Katolickim Uniwersytecie Chorwacji zapoczątkowano projekt naukowo-zawodowy CRO Laudato Si’. Zespół projektowy składał się z naukowców z różnych dyscyplin, a partnerami projektu była Wspólnota Narodowa Świeckiego Zakonu Franciszkańskiego oraz Młodzież Franciszkańska. W ramach projektu prowadzono działania naukowe i praktyczne. Jednym z głównych działań naukowych były empiryczne badania, przeprowadzone metodą ankietową w okresie kilku miesięcy w 2020 roku. W artykule zostały przedstawione wyniki badań związanych z rolą projektu na temat znajomości encykliki Laudato Si’ oraz rozbudzanie zainteresowania encykliką uwzględniając społeczno-demograficzny charakter respondentów. Wyniki badań wskazują, że mężczyźni słyszeli o encyklice Laudato Si’ w nieco większym stopniu niż kobiety. Najwięcej respondentów, którzy w ramach projektu po raz pierwszy usłyszeli o encyklice, to ci, którzy należą do najmłodszej grupy wiekowej, a następnie osoby z wykształceniem średnim. Zainteresowanie tematyką encykliki jest wyższe wśród kobiet, osób powyżej 65 roku życia, respondentów z ukończoną szkołą podstawową oraz osób samozatrudnionych lub emerytów.

Purpose: To determine the interdependencies between Smart City areas as well as the aspects and areas between resident-oriented IT areas of the city. Design / methodology / approach: The data for the study was collected during a survey of 287 cities for Smart City. The study of interdependence was based on a correlation analysis using: Pearson's correlation coefficient, Cramér's V coefficient, and Kendall's tau. In addition, a PCA analysis was used to reduce variable dimensions. Findings: The results of the research indicate that the scope of using services within e-office services is more strongly related to functionality than to IT equipment. In turn, the economic area plays a fundamental role in the perception of the city as a Smart City. There was also a clear difference in self-evaluation regarding Smart City areas and IT aspects of the city depending on the size of the city. However, this difference does not translate into declarations regarding the readiness for evaluation in Smart City categories. Originality/value: presentation of the relationship between the areas defining the concept of Smart City dependence on the basis of an original study addressed to city representatives. The results of the study allow us to look at the Smart City concept from the perspective of the city. The results of the analysis, in addition to scientists dealing with Smart City, may be of interest to city managers in Poland. They show the way of understanding and dependencies between individual areas. They also show those dependencies that need to be strengthened in the context of sustainable development.

Współcześnie żyjemy w warunkach określanych mianem społeczeństwa ryzyka, w których obok rozmaitych udogodnień nasza codzienność i związane z nią postawy i zachowania narażone są na coraz większą niepewność oraz kryzysy – w tym zachowania samobójcze. Temat poruszany w niniejszym opracowaniu sytuuje się w kontekście zagubienia współczesnej młodzieży i dotyczy suicydalności młodych jako jednego z przejawów dezintegracji społecznej i tożsamościowej oraz załamania kontroli społecznej. W opracowaniu podsumowano rezultaty jednego z etapów badań autorskich o charakterze ankietowym. Ukazano opinie młodzieży licealnej na temat samobójstwa, w tym jego uwarunkowań, konsekwencji, zasięgu oddziaływania na środowisko młodzieżowe oraz działań postwencyjnych.
Currently, we live in conditions known as a risk society, in which, apart from various amenities, our everyday life and related attitudes and behaviors are exposed to increasing uncertainty and crises – including suicidal behavior. The subject discussed in this report is set in the context of the confusion of contemporary youth and concerns the suicidality of young people as one of the manifestations of social and identity disintegration and the breakdown of social control. The study summarizes the results of one of the stages of the author’s research, in this case as a questionnaire. The opinions of high school students about suicide, including its determinants, consequences, the range of impact on the youth community and post-emergency actions, are presented.

W niniejszym artykule przeanalizowano próbkę 2677 inżynierów budownictwa pod kątem ich zarobków w zależności od branży, stażu pracy, wielkości miejscowości oraz czasu pracy. Otrzymane wyniki zostały przedstawione w formie tabelarycznej oraz poddane analizie i krytycznej ocenie. Ponadto porównano otrzymane dane z danymi pozyskanymi pod koniec 2019 roku, na podstawie czego wyciągnięto wnioski odnośnie do zmian płac budowlanej kadry inżynierskiej w Polsce.
In this article, a sample of 2,677 civil engineers was analyzed in terms of their earnings depending on the specialty, seniority, size of the town and working time. The obtained results were presented in tabular form and were analyzed and critically assessed. In addition, the obtained data was compared with the data obtained at the end of 2019, on the basis of which conclusions were drawn regarding changes in construction wages of engineers in Poland.

In surveys, non-sampling errors, due to their complex nature, are more challenging to quantify compared to sampling errors. Avoiding the release of these errors, however, results in biased survey estimates. In our previous paper, we devised the best interviewer allocation technique by using a nested experimental design to study response error estimation. In this study, in order to illustrate the effectiveness of this methodology in a different context, we apply it in interview-reinterview surveys relating to the time use and life satisfaction of academicians at Middle East Technical University, Turkey. An analysis of the pilot survey data showed that only half of the data was reliable, while the other half revealed interviewer effects. Prior to the main survey, interviewers underwent training in the course of which particular emphasis was put on the above-mentioned questions. In effect, the previously observed response variances which accounted for the total variance and data unreliability, were reduced considerably, increasing the quality of the main survey.
