Streszczenie: Celem artykułu jest analiza porównawcza skali Likerta o różnej podstawie rozpiętości kategorii odpowiedzi: (5, 7, 9 i 11 stopniowej), w kontekście procesu wyodrębniania czynników w eksploracyjnej analizie czynnikowej (EFA). Poruszany w artykule problem dotyczy przede wszystkim wątków metodologicznych zarówno w kwestii wyboru optymalnej liczby kategorii w sferze mierzonych pozycji składających się na skalę Likerta jak i rozpoznania zmian, różnic lub podobieństw towarzyszących (w wyniku oddziaływania czterech typów skal) procesowi wyodrębniania i określania odpowiedniej liczby czynników w modelu EFA.  Słowa kluczowe: eksploracyjna analiza czynnikowa, skale 5, 7, 9 i 11 punktowe, badania eksperymentalne, marketing
Abstract: The objective article is the comparative analysis of Likert rating scale based on the following range of response categories, i.e. 5, 7, 9 and 11 in context of the appropriate process of factors extraction in exploratory factor analysis (EFA). The problem which is being addressed in article relates primarily to the methodological aspects, both in selection of the optimal number of response categories of the measured items (constituting the Likert scale) and identification of possible changes, differences or similarities associated (as a result of the impact of four types of scales) with extraction and determination the appropriate number of factors in EFA model. Opis:
The article concerns the improvement of engineering calculation and refinement of durability margins of ship hull plane elements. Main results had been collected through vast experiments on tin construction-like models and half natural size structures. Results allow the refinement of areas' allocation of "flexible" and "rigid" links of plane elements under local span loading and function estimation of failure deflexion of plane of longitudinal rigidity, which is provided by the structure in the area of local deformation. Work results can be used to revise engineering calculations and refine the norms of defect survey. Wide usage of such survey norms can lead to ship repair time reduction and improve operational efficiency.
Artykuł dotyczy poprawy obliczeń inżynierskich i udoskonalenia marginesów trwałości elementów kadłuba statku. Rezultaty otrzymano po przeprowadzeniu wielu eksperymentów wykonanych na blaszanych modelach w skali 1:2. Zebrane wyniki pozwalają na udoskonalenie rozmieszczenia obszarów "elastycznych" i "sztywnych" połączeń elementów płaszczyzny będących pod miejscowym naciskiem i oszacowanie awaryjności wzdłużnej sztywności tej płaszczyzny, która jest wskazana przez strukturę w obszarze miejscowej deformacji. Rezultaty pracy mogą być wykorzystane do zmiany obliczeń inżynierskich i udoskonalenia norm badania wad. Szerokie wykorzystanie tych norm może prowadzić do skrócenia czasu naprawy statku i poprawy efektywności operacyjnej.

Opis:
The paper presents identifying studies of mechanical properties of the selected materials from the group of elastomers including Asmathane (65 ShA), Easyprene FPS (30 ShA), Biresin (U1305). The tests were carried out at the Laboratory of Strength of Materials, the Department of Mechanics and Applied Computer Science, with the use of an especially designed stand for testing the energy absorption of materials. The research aims were to determine the basic properties and characteristics of the selected materials as well as to compare them and identify the material with the best energy-absorbing characteristics. For a single load-unload cycle, applied dynamically, the hysteresis loops were recorded. Energy-absorption of individual materials and maximum strength were determined. During the experimental test, a fast speed camera was used for accurately register the progress performance of the test. The pictures of the dynamic tests of materials behaviour are shown. The curves of the tested materials are compared in the graphs. The resulting data will help to create constitutive models of the tested materials, which in the next stages of the project will be used in numerical studies on the impact of detonation on the designed protective panel.

Opis:
One of the frequently discussed features of sociology are its modest possibilities - compared with natural sciences and, even, psychology - of conducting experimental research. Hence the supposition that sociology encounters in the sphere of experiment certain obstacles which are either unknown to those sciences or not met by them in such in such a form and intensity. The aim of this paper is to depict those barriers to experimenting on individuals and social systems. Three main barriers - technical, social-psychological, and axiological are indentified and analyzed.

The work presents the fragments of research on the dynamic loads acting on selected military vehicles. Designing new armoured vehicles or introducing modifications is preceded by model tests carried out under various conditions, analysing the effect of dynamic loads which may result during the use of the vehicle, e.g. due to the roughness of the road, firing, IED explosions or the vehicle being hit by a shell. The main purpose of conducting model research and verifying their findings in experimental research is to improve the effectiveness and safety of operation of systems and installations of military vehicles, increase the dynamics of the movement, improve the protection and ensure that the crew is not killed. Among the used models of military vehicles, discrete models are applied, formulated in the adjusted Lagrange description, as well as the models based on the fine element method for highly nonlinear problems and forces acting for a very short time. Due to the unique selection of military equipment, the methods of calculation and analysis of model research (simulations) and experimental research presented in the work are considered qualitative rather than quantitative.

Wirtualne gry strategiczne są coraz częściej stosowanym narzędziem edukacyjnym, pozwalającym na podążanie za współczesnymi trendami w dydaktyce. Są jednak narzędziem innowacyjnym, stąd konieczna jest dyskusja nad możliwościami ich stosowania w edukacji przedsiębiorczej. Jednocześnie wydają się one być możliwe do zastosowania jako narzędzie badawcze, które wykorzystuje swego rodzaju eksperyment czy też quasi-eksperyment do badań nad przedsiębiorczością. W naukach ekonomicznych możliwości wykorzystania eksperymentu są ograniczone, gdyż musiałby być on stosowany na żywych organizmach przedsiębiorstw czy gospodarek. Tymczasem gry strategiczne, będące formą prowadzenia działalności gospodarczej w warunkach wirtualnych, a nie rzeczywistych, wydają się dawać korzyści badawcze wynikające z możliwości obserwowania zachowań i efektów aktywności przedsiębiorstw bez ponoszenia ryzyka i kosztów eksperymentu przez faktyczną firmę. Celem artykułu jest ocena możliwości wykorzystania gier strategicznych w edukacji przedsiębiorczej oraz w eksperymentalnych badaniach nad przedsiębiorczością. Artykuł opiera się na rozważaniach teoretycznych, popartych wynikami badań ankietowych i wynikami obserwacji zachowań studentów w czasie trwania rozgrywek wirtualnych gier strategicznych. Aby ocenić grę z punktu widzenia metodycznego, posłużono się przykładem badań nad orientacją przedsiębiorczą i porównano wyniki uzyskane na tej samej próbie badawczej za pomocą badań ankietowych i eksperymentalnych, traktując ten problem badawczy wyłącznie jako egzemplifikację możliwości eksperymentów przez gry strategiczne
Virtual strategic games are more and more often used teaching tool, their use lets to follow the current trends in didactic study. However, games are still an innovative tool which indicates the necessity of discussion on possibilities of their implementation in entrepreneurial education. Virtual strategic games seem to be available for exploration also as a research tool which explores a kind of an experiment or quasi-experiment to conduct research on entrepreneurship. In economic science, the possibility to use the experiment as research tool is very limited as it should be used on real companies or economies. Meanwhile, strategic games being a form of running a business in a virtual environment, not in real one, seem to give research advantages connected with the possibilities of observing the behaviour and its effects of business activities without the risk and costs of experiments born by a real company. The aim of the paper is to assess the possibilities of using the strategic games in entrepreneurial educa- tion and experimental research in entrepreneurship. Theoretical discussion is supported by the results conducted during the virtual strategic games. To assess the research potential of games, the example of entrepreneurial orientation was explored and the results of survey and experiment on the same sample of students were compared.

A single-subject experiment, also known as quantitative case study or n = 1 research design, is an extraordinary but rarely used research method when it comes to education. This method combines precision of experiment with depth of qualitative analyses carried out on the basis of data obtained from a single subject under standardized observation. The paper presents formal characteristics, hypo[1]thesis verification conditions as well as strengths and weaknesses of the five single-subject experiment schemas, i.e.: (1) AB design, (2) reversal design ABAB, (3) multiple baseline design, (4) alternating treatment design, and (5) changing criterion design. Furthermore, graphic and non-graphic methods of testing hypotheses on causal relations between independent and outcome variables appropriate for the single-subject experiment are discussed.

Najważniejszymi celami medycyny są leczenie i troska o ludzi chorych, dlatego głównymi wyznacznikami jej rozwoju są doskonalenie metod diagnozowania i terapii, a także opracowanie nowych leków i środków leczniczych. Znaczna część badań wymaga udziału ludzi – ochotników (zdrowych i chorych) poddających się eksperymentom i ponoszącym pewne ryzyko z tym związane. Z prowadzeniem eksperymentów medycznych wiąże się wiele problemów natury etycznej. W artykule zostaną przedstawione najważniejsze zasady prowadzenia eksperymentów medycznych z udziałem ludzi, w szczególności badań klinicznych produktu leczniczego, oraz wątpliwości, jakie w odniesieniu do tych badań zgłaszają bioetycy.
The most important aim of medical science is to treat and care for indisposed people, so the main determinant of its development is the improvement of methods of diagnosis and therapy, the development of new medicines and therapeutics. The majority of research projects involve the participation of people – volunteers (healthy and sick) who are subject to experiments and bear some risks associated with it. Running medical experiments involves many ethical problems. The purpose of the article is to outline the main principles of carrying out human subject research, in particular clinical trials of the medicinal product, and the doubts that bioethics have in relation to these studies.

The goal of the text is to present the critical ethical reflexion on understanding and using covert research. I consider dilemmas that a researcher must face in the field. I also try to analyze how they may be solved. I propose using another and more accurate notion – covering techniques. I also suggest an approach assuming that secrecy is an immanent part of a research process. Those issues are discussed on the basis of the author’s study about selling and buying MA and bachelor theses. It is supplemented by the examples from other research projects the author had taken part in. I refer not only to my personal experience but also to different rules of codes of ethics. I propose the way of acting that could balance between cognitive benefits and subjects’ welfare.
Tekst ma na celu przedstawienie krytycznej refleksji etycznej nad rozumieniem i wykorzystaniem badań ukrytych. Rozważając dylematy, przed jakimi staje badacz w terenie i próbując przeanalizować, jak można je rozwikłać, proponuję stosowanie innego, trafniejszego pojęcia odnoszącego się do nieujawniania informacji o badaniu – praktyki ukrywania. Sugeruję również sposób postępowania zakładający uwzględnienie aspektu niejawności jako immanentnej cechy procesu badawczego. Powyższe zagadnienia omawiane są przede wszystkimna przykładzie autorskiego badania kupowania prac magisterskich i licencjackich, uzupełniane zaś przykładami z innych przedsięwzięć badawczych, w których autorka miała okazję uczestniczyć. W analizach odnoszę się nie tylko do własnego doświadczenia, ale też do, niekiedy zaskakująco odmiennych, uregulowań w kodeksach etycznych.

An adequate theory of the child’s mental development, which can be located in the system of continuous education, is to be sought in the works of L.S. Vygotsky. He proposed non-classical psychology which views development as self-development, which implies creation of a special logic, awareness of the developmental progress. A special position in it is occupied by awareness and the process of learning about it. In the paper the ontogenesis of awareness is considered, in particular the systemic and sensory structure of awareness proposed by L.S. Vygotsky. In this context periodization of the child’s mental development is considered. The idea of sensual structure of awareness has been analysed on the basis of L.S. Vygotsky’s works, as well as on the results of my long-term own research.
