Opis:
This paper describes the reforms of American religious sisters started byPius XII until the recent closure of Archbishop Peter Sartain’s commission. The paper shows how the reforms of congregations were taken up beforeand after the Council and how the two organisations representing Americansisters were founded. The continual dissent of LCWR from Churchteachings is shown in contrast to the fidelity of the alternative canonicalorganization, namely CMSWR. The lack of new vocations among LCWRsisters is a sign of mistaken reforms and the lack of attractive power intheir political agenda.

Opis:
This article presents the image of a spiritual wedding between soul-Bride and Divine Bridegroom which is featured in anonymous meditations from the XVII century. They are bunched in manuscript form and stored in the archives of the Sisters of St. Norbert’s Order in Cracow. Therefore, it is proper to make the thesis that the author of this manuscript belonged to this abbey. The primary origin of these meditations is The Song of Songs which shows the special way mystics merge with God. This article also reveals meditations about ”spiritual marriage” that contain visible influences of the Fathers of Church and Żywoty świętych of Piotr Skarga. All these influences are evident not only about the authoress erudition but most of all about her need of strong effect, by means of suggestive images of figures, for the attitude of practitioners of meditations. With the aid of the idea of mutual love between Divine Bridegroom and human being-Bride, meditations were presented standing before God demanding from man spiritual transformation and pose of the human being who desires to internally change yourself for Him.

Opis:
Shifting the stress from the service of the word to evangelization, and in this context showing the tasks of catechesis, faced the new Polish realities: on the one hand the presence of religion lessons at school, and on the other – cultural pluralism being suddenly created, questioning all the authorities. Hence, a catechetic problem appeared: how to form catechesis so that it could meet these threats? This is an important area of research done by Sister H. Wrońska. Theology and methodology of the functioning of coeval groups built especially on the basis of the catechetic documents of the Catholic Church and of the Church in Poland that are published have led the author to working out rules and norms of cooperation between catechetic groups and of various forms of catechization. Sister H. Wrońska’s work Katecheza a małe grupy szkolne i parafialne (Catechesis and small school and parish groups) appears to be an extraordinarily valuable and important book, not only for catechetics, pedagogy, but for all kinds of pastoral activities as well. It is the first work in Poland that comprehensively shows this pastoral-catechetic problem, and shows in an ordered and at the same time detailed way the character and significance of groups of children and young people for the development of catechesis. Documenting this issue is indeed invaluable for all those who will ever study the complementary correlation of educational circles and write anything about it.

Opis:
The Eucharistic Crusade was an energetic religious movement that assembled 3 million children all over the world before the Second World War. In Poland work on formation of children lasted without breaks from 1925 to the outbreak of the war, and 4 years after it was ended. In 1987 a revival of the Crusade began; its name was changed to the Eucharistic Movement of the Young (ERM). Only in 1998 the movement was included into the All-Poland Council of Catholic Movements. The aim of the article is to present the process of reactivation of the movement as reflected in the archival materials kept in the front office of the ERM in Poznań. A great role in the reactivation of the movement was played by Sister Jadwiga Batogowska SJK, who was responsible for the ERM on behalf of the Congregation of the Ursulines of the Agonizing Heart of Jesus. After the 16 years of Sister Batogowska’s work the communities of the movement numbered over 11,000 participants coming from 27 dioceses. From the surviving correspondence between Sister Batogowska and the Church authorities it is not clear why the process of recognizing the ERM as a Catholic organization was so long, and hence further research in this issue is necessary.
