    Adults indicate their needs and interest in religious content in a variety of ways. They express a conviction that adult religious education should not be limited to catechesis and look for such forms that correspond to their needs and expectations. One of them is the Bible Correspondence Course (BCC). This form of adult religious education has been present in Poland for over 20 years, and in Austria even longer. The Course not only attracts growing interest amongst adults but also meets their expectations and brings (often unexpected) results. By analysing the motives for the participation in the BCC one can see that this form of adult education is a significant event for many people and has become a unique part of their biographies. Thus, its effects relate to many areas and dimensions of human existence.

    W artykule przedstawiono wyniki dwóch interdyscyplinarnych projektów badawczych zrealizowanych ze środków Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (Niemiecka Wspólnota Badawcza) w latach 2005–2010 przez grupę pedagogów i teologów z Uniwersytetu Humboldtów w Berlinie. Ich celem było znalezienie odpowiedzi na dwa pytania: po pierwsze, jak można zdefiniować kompetencję religijną przekazywaną na lekcjach religii w szkołach publicznych i, po drugie, jak powinno się tę kompetencję mierzyć. Rezultatem prac projektowych było opracowanie i walidacja instrumentu umożliwiającego pomiar efektywności nauczania religii na przykładzie ewangelickich lekcji religii w szkołach publicznych.
    The article presents the results of two interdisciplinary research projects carried out by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Community) in 2005-2010 by a group of pedagogues and theologians from the Humboldt University in Berlin. Their goal was to find the answers to two questions. The first one: How religious competence transferred during religion classes in public schools can be defined? The second one: How should this competence be measured? The result of the project work was creation and validation of a tool which can measure the effectiveness of religion teaching. Evangelical religion classes in public schools served as an example.

    The Speech ‘Uplifting forces in the classroom, quality in education and professionalism of teachers’ delivered by Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Schwendemann refers to the PISA Report and Martin Buber’s principle of ‘uplifting forces’ in a dialogue-based structured class. The capability of dialogue strengthens the component of relationship between student and teacher. Martin Buber aims to strengthen and develop the personality of both teacher and student. The pivotal argument for a good relationship between student and teacher is, additional to the capability of dialogue the trust, which improves the self-efficacy and the self-worth of a person. This is formed mainly by the authenticity of the other person. Through measuring the quality of education in a class, the individual learning process should be made possible, be maintained, be improved and be assessed. Beneficial, by looking at the relation between didactics and methods, are mainly the tactics that are focused on the proces and the impact it has on the students. The quality of the education is then looked at, with a list of the broad expectations towards a teacher. Ultimately the deciding factor for a better quality and professionalism in the class or learning environment is the quality of the relationships, like Martin Buber’s principle on the ‘ability of dialogue’ says.
    Der Vortrag ‚Aufbauende Kräfte im Unterricht, Unterrichtsqualität und Lehrerprofessionalität‘ von Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Schwendemann bezieht sich auf die PISA-Studie und Martin Bubers Prinzip der ‚aufbauenden Kräfte‘ im dialogischen Unterricht. Martin Buber geht es um die Dialogfähigkeit, welche die Beziehungskomponente im Unterricht zwischen Schüler innen und Lehrkraft stärkt. Dabei zielt er auf die Stärkung und Entfaltung der Persönlichkeit bei Lernenden, sowie auch Lehrenden. Ausschlaggebend für eine gute Lehrer/Lehrerinnen-Schüler/Schülerinnen-Beziehung ist zusätzlich zurDialogfähigkeit das Vertrauen, was die Selbstwirksamkeit und den Selbstwert stärkt. Dieses entsteht hauptsächlich durch die Authentizität der Lehrperson. Durch das Messen der Qualität eines Unterrichts sollen individuelle Lernprozesse bei Lernenden ermöglicht, aufrechterhalten, verbessert und bewertet werden. Förderlich, beim genaueren Betrachten des Verhältnisses von Didaktikund Methodik, sind Prozess- und Wirkungsorientiertheit. Die Güte von Lehre wird mit einer Aufzählung der umfangreichen Erwartungen an eine Lehrkraft thematisiert. Letztendlich ist jedoch die Beziehungsqualität im dialogischen Unterricht das Ausschlaggebende, um Qualität und Professionalität zu erhöhen.

    Współczesna szkoła w Europie proponuje cele edukacyjne zmierzające do integralnego rozwoju osoby. Instytucja ta realizuje proces edukacji dzięki rozwijaniu kompetencji, zdolności i wiedzy w różnych dziedzinach życia, również tych religijnych. Aby wzniecić w nowych pokoleniach poczucie „religijności” konieczne jest nie tylko, aby każdy nauczyciel religii posiadał wiedzę o różnych nurtach pedagogicznych i teoriach naukowych, ale przede wszystkim wiedział, jak odpowiedzieć na konkretne wyzwania współczesnego społeczeństwa. Kompetencje nauczyciela religii w Europie muszą więc wykraczać poza granice państw, kultur, religii, aby w procesie wychowawczym kształtować młodzież umiejącą odpowiedzieć na nowe wyzwania przemian społeczno-politycznych, geograficznych i religijnych. Wyzwania te wprowadzają do nauczania religii potrzebę pogłębiania kompetencji pedagogicznych, psychologicznych, teologicznych i dydaktycznych. Nauczanie religii powinno być pomocne w integrowaniu Wspólnoty Europejskiej.
    Modern schools in Europe propose educational goals that aim at an integral development of an individual. School as an institution carries out educational processes by developing competence, skills and knowledge in various areas of life, including religion. To incite a sense of “religion” in new generations, it is expedient that every teacher of religion should not only have knowledge of various pedagogical currents and scientific theories but, above all, s/he should know how to respond to the specific challenges of the modern society. The competence of religion teachers in Europe must, therefore, go beyond the borders of countries, cultures and religions, so that, the educational process could enable young people to respond to the new socio-political, geographic and religious challenges. Those challenges imply the necessity of deepening pedagogical, psychological, theological and educational skills of religion teachers. Teaching of religion can help in the integration of the European Community.

    The previous moral psychological research on educational institutions highlighted the influence on the development of moral orientation and competence. With the help of the present quantitative study, the influence of early childhood education on moral abilities has been explored. Since the moral education of children is often associated with religious norms and values, and religions are debated in relation to their general meaning and functionality, the religious moral education has been investigated. Therefore, students of various disciplines from Berlin were asked about their religious education in their early childhood and were examined on their current moral orientation and competence. The Moral-Competence-Test by Lind and a self-constructed and piloted questionnaire for the examination of religious education and religiosity have been used for the measurement. The results of the online study have shown that the moral skills of dogmatically educated students are significantly reduced, but not related to the differences in educational experience or the current preservation of religiousness.

    Głównym zamierzeniem niniejszego elaboratu było poszukiwanie odpowiedzi na pytanie o doktrynalne i praktyczne zastosowanie prawa zakonnika (ius cum supremo Mderatore comunicandi), względem którego właściwy przełożony rozpoczął postępowanie wydające. W celu właściwego określenia prawnego charakteru postępowania, autor odwołał się do narzędzi procesowych jak apelacja czy przejęcie przez władzę wyższą kompetencji instancji niższej (avocare), jak również przywołał normę ogólną wyrażoną przez kan. 139 KPK/1983. Przytoczone rozwiązania, w świetle rozważanej ustawy nie przyniosły jednak wystarczającej i pełnej odpowiedzi na postawiony problem. W zakończeniu autor proponuje, by najwyższy przełożony określił dekretem brak kompetencji przełożonego wyższego in loco, ustanawiając – jeśli to konieczne – inny podmiot do uzupełnienia dochodzenia. 
    The paper proposes the constructive reflection on the possible procedural configuration inherent in the proceedings of dismissal, in particular consideration of the hypothesis exposed in the can. 698. The Legislator assures to the accused religious the right to communicate and to offer his proper defenses directly to the supreme Moderator of the Institute. The Author tries to indicate the competent religious Authorities in order to receive the legal claim from the religious, accused for having committed crimes or illegal acts specified in the can. 695 and can. 696. Using the legal instruments like appeal and call to the proper jurisdiction – foreseen in the Code of canon law - helped to verify whether and how the exercise of the right to communicate with the supreme Moderator may be equivalent to the mentioned procedural instruments. Unfortunately, the conclusions we reached do not allow assigning any nomen iuris to the hypothesis in which the demand submitted by the accused religious could be accept by the highest Authority of his proper Institute. Eventually, the Author proposed the possible solution of the specified doctrinal problem. It is likely that the supreme Moderator, having determined his exclusive competence in order to lead the entire case and having communicated it to the Superior in loco, could have a burden to supplement the evidences and finalize the cause. It was also considered inopportune or inadvisable to accept the demand forwarded by the religious simultaneously with the notification of the arguments against him. It can’t be excluded another hypothesis according to which the same supreme Moderator will end the dispute using the extra canonical solutions.

    The ancient early Christian authors had a high level of communicativecompetence. This competence was expressed in their great artistry in oratory,writing and in their understanding the meaning of the communicationcontexts. To show and describe the communicative competence of theChurch Fathers, the author of the present article focuses on the metaphorsused by them. At the beginning, a metaphor as a rhetorical device is explained,in terms of what kind of function it has and how it works. In thesecond phase, the specific examples of metaphors that referred to povertyand wealth were chosen and their interpretations expounded. In the finalsection, the topic in question is summarized and then the conclusions cometo are related to contemporary religious communication and the transmissionof the faith in the digital world.

    Opis:
    States and individuals are the essential building blocks of international law. Normally, their identity seems to be solidly established. However, modern international law is widely permeated by the notion of freedom from natural or societal constraints. This notion, embodied for individuals in the concept of human rights, has enabled human beings to overcome most of the traditional ties of dependency and being subjected to dominant social powers. Beyond that, even the natural specificity of a human as determined by birth and gender is being widely challenged. The law has made fargoing concessions to this pressure. The right to leave one’s own country, including renouncing one’s original nationality, epitomizes the struggle for individual freedom. On the other hand, States generally do not act as oppressive powers but provide comprehensive protection to their nationals. Stateless persons live in a status of precarious insecurity. All efforts should be supported which are aimed at doing away with statelessness or nonrecognition as a human person through the refusal to issue identity documents. Disputes about the collective identity of States also contain two different aspects. On the one hand, disintegrative tendencies manifest themselves through demands for separate statehood by minority groups. Such secession movements, as currently reflected above all in the Spanish province of Catalonia, have no basis in international law except for situations where a group suffers grave structural discrimination (remedial secession). As the common homeland of its citizens, every State also has the right to take care of its sociological identity. Many controversies focus on the distinction between citizens and aliens. This distinction is well rooted in domestic and international law. Changes in that regard cannot be made lightly. At the universal level international law has not given birth to a right to be granted asylum. At the regional level, the European Union has put into force an extremely generous system that provides a right of asylum not only to persons persecuted individually, but also affords “subsidiary protection” to persons in danger of being harmed by military hostilities. It is open to doubt whether the EU institutions have the competence to assign quotas of refugees to individual Member States. The relevant judgment of the Court of Justice of the European Union of 6 September 2017 was hasty and avoided the core issue: the compatibility of such decisions with the guarantee of national identity established under Article 4(2) of the EU Treaty.
