Opis:: The paper presents a new analytical algorithm which is able to carry out direct and exact reliability quantification of highly reliable systems with maintenance (both preventive and corrective). A directed acyclic graph is used as a system representation. The algorithm allows take into account highly reliable and maintained input components. All considered models are implemented into the new algorithm. The algorithm is based on a special new procedure which permits only summarization between two or more non-negative numbers that can be very different. If the summarization of very small positive numbers transformed into the machine code is performed effectively no error is committed at the operation. Reliability quantification is demonstrated on a real system from practice and on its highly reliable modifications. The selected system is frequently used system - high pressure injection system occurring in many late references.

Opis:: A contemporary physiotherapist is not only an outstanding specialist with extensive knowledge and practical skills, but also a man with determined personality traits. The main principle for the physiotherapist in fulfilling their duties is motivating „service for health and for human life”. Therefore, personality traits gain a special significance in their work, for which the help for others, the protection of their health and lives are the main message, as well as preventative practices. Personality traits are indicators of physiotherapy action, which provide a specific path for this action to follow, which point out the correct way. Defining the personality model of the physiotherapist is a part of the axiology of physiotherapy itself, of the model of a perfect member of this socio-professional group, equipped with diverse personality traits - moral-social features, mind, character, professional, intellectual. Living and working in a democratic society, a physiotherapist should know and remember the characteristics of Tadeusz Kotarbiński’s reliable carer, the ethics of reverence for life as presented by that great doctor of the humanities Albert Schweitzer, and about the selected civic virtues which Maria Ossowska presented in her article „The model of a citizen in democracy”. And so an attempt to design the ideal model of the contemporary physiotherapist, as desired within a democratic society, constitutes the purpose of this study.
Współczesny fizjoterapeuta to nie tylko znakomity specjalista posiadający szeroką. wiedzę i umiejętności praktyczne, ale człowiek posiadający określone cechy osobowości. Wypełniając swoje obowiązki fizjoterapeucie przyświeca główna zasada „służba zdrowiu i życiu ludzkiemu”. W związku z tym cnoty moralne nabierają szczególnego znaczenia w jego pracy, której głównym przesłaniem jest pomoc drugiemu człowiekowi, ochrona jego zdrowia i życia, a także profilaktyka zdrowotna. Cnoty są wyznacznikami działania fizjoterapeutycznego, które nadają określony tor tym działaniom, wskazują na właściwy sposób oddziaływania. Zadaniem aksjologii fizjoterapii jest zdefiniowanie wzoru osobowego fizjoterapeuty, który powinien być wyposażony w różnorodne cnoty, między innymi sprawiedliwość, troskliwość, szacunek, współczucie, łagodność, odpowiedzialność. żyjąc i pracując w demokratycznym społeczeństwie, fizjoterapeuta powinien znać i pamiętać także o cechach spolegliwego opiekuna opisanego przez Tadeusza Kotarbińskiego, etyce czci dla życia według wielkiego lekarza humanisty Alberta Schweitzera, czy o cnotach obywatelskich, które prezentuje Maria Ossowska w swoim artykule „Wzór obywatela w ustroju demokratycznym”. Celem niniejszego opracowania jest zatem próba zaprojektowania idealnego wzoru współczesnego fizjoterapeuty, pożądanego w demokratycznym społeczeństwie.

Opis:: In recent years the intensive efforts in developing and producing electronic devices have more and more critical inference in many areas of human activity. Engineering is one of the areas which have been also importantly affected. The paper deals with dependability namely reliability analysis procedure of a highly reliable item. The data on manufacturing and operating of a few hundred thousands pieces of electronic item are available and they are statistically a very important collection/set. However, concerning some items the manufacturing procedure was not checked and controlled accurately. The procedure described in the paper is based on the thorough data analysis aiming at the operating and manufacturing of these electronic elements. The results indicate some behaviour differences between correctly and incorrectly made elements. It was proved by the analysis that dependability and safety of these elements was affected to a certain degree. Although there is a quite big set of data the issue regarding the statistical comparability is very important.

W tekście zostaną podjęte rozważania nad możliwościami aplikacji tego modelu w szkole w ramach tutoringu i mentoringu oraz wskazane propozycje kulturowych odniesień, które dostarczają inspirujących wzorców i metod urzeczywistniania spolegliwego opiekuństwa.
The subject of the article is the concept of a reliable guardian viewed from the perspective of the school context. The reflection on its educational and teaching potential as well as its relevance to the contemporary teacher becomes the key theme. The model created by Tadeusz Kotarbiński is an attractive ideal, which, however, is difficult to find in a lively form in the school reality. The text will discuss the possibilities of the application of this model as part of tutoring and mentoring in school and will present some proposals of cultural references that provide inspiring patterns and methods of carrying out reliable guardianship.

Opis:: In this paper we propose a revised Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL), called stochastic DEMATEL, to extract structural model of a complex problematique and to represent the priority of each factor taking into account the uncertainty of structure. In the stochastic DEMATEL, the uncertainty of structure is expressed as a stochastic model. From numerical experiments and experimental analyses, the following results are obtained: when the structure is uncertain, stochastic DEMATEL could extract the features of structure by the degree of dispatching influences and the degree of central role; stochastic composite importance could express the uncertainty of priority and decide the priority taking into account the attitude of the decision maker; pessimistic, neutral or optimistic.

Opis:: This study focuses on the development of a reliable prosthetic running blade primarily composed of carbon fiber. The reliable performance of novel prosthetic running blades has been evaluated by mechanical testing and finite element numerical modeling. Theexperimental analysis confirmed that these blades exhibit superior suitability for high-impact activities, demonstrating reliable load-bearing capacity and effective shock absorption properties. The tensile testing exhibited a linear elastic behavior of the composite material up to a strain of 0.075 mm/mm. Further, it was found that stress concentration areas and fracture points within the blade structure. Furthermore, numerical results revealed a maximum deflection of 29.60 mm that the blade can achieve. The kinetic energy loss during impact demonstrated an 8.5% decrease in blade kinetic energy, with the highest loss occurring at Vy = 30 m/s. Ultimately, this research aims to enhance the reliability, durability, and safety of prosthetic running blades, empowering athletes to reach new heights in sports.

Opis:: The application of electronic elements introduces a number of advantages as well as disadvantages. The data on manufacturing and operating of a few hundred thousands pieces of the highly reliable devices are available and from the statistical point of view they are very important collection/set. However, concerning some pieces of the items the manufacturing procedure of them was not made, controlled and checked accurately. The procedure described in the paper is based on the thorough data analysis aiming at the operation and manufacturing of these electronic elements. As the data sets collected are statistically non-coherent the objective of the paper is to make a statistical assessment and evaluation of the results. Failure rates calculations and their relation comparability regarding the both sets are presented in the paper.

Opis:: Since psychology emerged as an independent field of knowledge, there has been no consensus as to how it should develop, either, in the idiographic or nomothetic way. In the course of time, due to a commitment to what was seen as objectivity in science, the nomothetic approach came to dominate psychology. Thus, researchers used mostly quantitative psychometric methods to establish general rules of human behaviour. In doing so, the essence of nomothetic research is to be extremely careful when interpreting results not to make a reasoning mistake such as the ecological fallacy, as may happen when a researcher draws conclusions about nature of the individual in the group based on average results of the whole group. In the article, we presented two methods for longitudinal research designs which address this problem, and give more idiographic information about participants; via the Reliable Change Index and the Modified Brinley Plot. Finally, we provide a IBM SPSS Statistics syntax automatizing the whole process of computation for these new features.

Opis:: The aim of the study was to determine the capacity of a selected section of the Sanna river, designated below the lower site of the weir in Zaklików. The capacity calculations included the conditions of flood water discharge, i.e. the reliable flow and the control flow, determined in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of the Environment on technical conditions that should be ensured for the hydrotechnical structures and their locations. The paper presents the consequences of changes in the regulations regarding the determination of building type, for which reliable flow and control discharges are determined. These modifications in the regulations have an impact on changes in the determination of the probability value for water discharges related to the analysed weir. The calculation of the capacity of the tested section also took into account its technical condition, specifying the variant of calculations for the lack of maintenance works, i.e. for the current state and for the state after maintenance works, consisting in mowing vegetation on slopes and shaping the surface of river bottom, removing pits and shallows. The results of the calculations of capacity of the measured cross-sections showed that the performance of maintenance works will convey the flow of a Q3% reliable flow in the Sanna river, while the Q1% control flow will not fit into the riverbed and will cause inundation of the adjacent areas.

Opis:: In this paper we try to extract consumers' uneasy factors on foods such as carcinogenic substance, bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) problem, genetic recombination, etc., and try to construct structural models among these uneasy factors using stochastic DEMATEL. Stochastic DEMATEL is developed as a revised DEMATEL (Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory) to extract structural models of a complex problematique composed of many factors under uncertainty. For structural modeling of uneasy factors on foods we look at the binary relation such that "How much would it help to dissolve uneasy factor j by dissolving uneasy factor i?" Finally, we try to find the priority of dissolving each factor among all the uneasy factors based on the information of stochastic composite importance. This would contribute for decision support to dissolve uneasy feeling and to get sense of security on foods.

Opis:: Computer-aided breast ultrasound (BUS) diagnosis remains a difficult task. One of the challenges is that imbalanced BUS datasets lead to poor performance, especially with regard to low accuracy in the minority (malignant tumor) class. Missed diagnosis of malignant tumors can cause serious consequences, such as delaying treatment and increasing the risk of death. Moreover, many diagnosis methods do not consider classification reliability; thus, some classifications may have a large uncertainty. To resolve such problems, a bounded-abstaining classification model is proposed. It maximizes the area under the ROC curve (AUC) under two abstention constraints. A total of 219 (92 malignant and 127 benign) BUS images are collected from the First Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University, China. The experiment tests BUS datasets of three imbalance levels, and the performance contours are analyzed. The results demonstrate that AUC-rejection curves are less affected by class imbalance than accuracy-rejection curves. Compared with the state-of-the-art, the proposed method yields a significantly larger AUC and G-mean using imbalanced BUS datasets.

Opis:: Teachers are among many educational entities. In this profession, it is worth paying special attention to its ethical dimension. This is dictated primarily by the specific nature of the educational activity of the representatives of this socio-professional category which includes, among others, interpersonal relationships with pupils and students. They are manifested in various educational situations, oft en complex and complicated, requiring the teacher to represent a high ethical level, consistent with the arrangements made in the field of professional ethics. This, in turn, taking into account its shape, may be perceived differently. The aim of this article is to attempt to present the ethics of the teaching profession from the point of view of the ethics of care. Understanding the ethics of the teaching profession as an ethics of care is rarely presented in the literature on the subject. Most often, teaching ethics is associated with a set of specific ethical conditions or moral virtues, somewhat reducing the importance of the category of care in this ethics. Hence, the main research problem revolves around the questions: What are the characteristics of the ethical dimension of a teacher’s professional work and what does care and ethics of care mean in the teaching profession? The adopted research method was the analysis of the literature on the subject and of articles published in scientific journals, concerning the research issues being undertaken. The presented text discusses the ethical dimension of a teacher’s professional work from a normative perspective, in particular from the point of view of the ethics of duty and the ethics of virtue, and then the category of care and the ethics of care with its relation to the teacher’s professional activity. The analysis of the literature on the subject leads to the belief that in contemporary scientific explorations consistent with ethical and pedeutological thought, greater emphasis should be placed on the ethics of care in the teaching profession, as well as the possibility of contamination of the ethics of care and the ethics of justice. All this can serve to optimally practice the teaching profession in ethical terms.
Wśród wielu podmiotów edukacji wymienia się nauczyciela. W zawodzie uprawianym przez niego warto zwrócić szczególną uwagę na wymiar etyczny. Podyktowane jest to przede wszystkim specyficznym charakterem aktywności edukacyjnej przedstawicieli tej kategorii społeczno-zawodowej, w którą wpisane są między innymi relacje interpersonalne z uczniami-wychowankami. Manifestują się one w różnorodnych sytuacjach edukacyjnych, niejednokrotnie złożonych i skomplikowanych, wymagających od nauczyciela reprezentowania wysokiego poziomu etycznego, zgodnego z ustaleniami poczynionymi na gruncie etyki zawodowej. Ta z kolei, biorąc pod uwagę jej kształt, może być różnie postrzegana. Celem podejmowanych w niniejszym artykule rozważań jest próba ukazania etyki zawodu nauczyciela z punktu widzenia etyki troski. Ujmowanie etyki zawodu nauczyciela jako etyki troski rzadko eksponowane jest na gruncie literatury przedmiotu. Najczęściej etykę nauczycielską kojarzy się z zespołem określonych obwarowań etycznych bądź cnót moralnych, umniejszając nieco rangi kategorii troski w tej etyce. Stąd też główny problem badawczy oscyluje wokół pytań: Czym charakteryzuje się wymiar etyczny pracy zawodowej nauczyciela oraz co oznacza troska i etyka troski w zawodzie nauczyciela. Jako metodę badawczą przyjęto analizę literatury przedmiotu zarówno zwartą, jak również artykułów zamieszczonych w czasopismach naukowych, dotyczącą podejmowanej problematyki badawczej. W przedstawionym tekście kolejno zaprezentowano: wymiar etyczny pracy zawodowej nauczyciela z perspektywy normatywnej, w szczególności z punktu widzenia etyki powinności i etyki cnoty, a następnie kategorię troski oraz etykę troski wraz z odniesieniem jej do aktywności zawodowej nauczyciela. Przeprowadzona analiza literatury przedmiotu skłania do przekonania, że we współczesnych eksploracjach naukowych wpisujących się w myśl etyczno-pedeutologiczną należy położyć większy nacisk na etykę troski w zawodzie nauczyciela, a także ewentualną możliwość kontaminacji etyki troski i etyki sprawiedliwości. Wszystko to służyć może optymalnemu uprawianiu zawodu nauczyciela pod względem etycznym.

Opis:: The aim of the article is to analyze the ethical system of Tadeusz Kotarbiński. In the reporting part of the article, the main theses of the system and additional remarks (which are present in Kotarbiński’s writings, but rarely cited in the studies on the Kotarbiński concept) are presented. I consider normative statements of the system (ethics of a reliable guardian), as well as metaethical assumptions (independent ethics). In the evaluative part of the paper, Kotarbiński’s normative proposal is evaluated as a good proposition of a secular counterpart of Christian ethics in its minimal version. The proposition is realistic and useful for those above all who are reluctant towards religious discourse. Analyzing the concept of independence of ethics, I emphasize the impact of reism on Kotarbiński’s ethical views, the inadequacy of his evaluation of religiosity and the overestimation of the role of empiricism in ethical cognition. I also discuss the educational dimension of the postulate of independence.
