    Opis:
    The paper focuses on type II Topp-Leone Frechet distribution. Its properties including hazard rate function, reverse hazard rate function, Mills ratio, quantile function and order statistics have been studied. The maximum likelihood estimation used for estimating the parameters of the proposed distribution has been explained and expressions for the Fisher information matrix and confidence intervals have been provided. The paper discusses the applications of the distribution for modeling several datasets relating to temperature. Finally, the goodness of fit of the proposed distribution has been compared with that of the Frechet distribution.

    The aim of this paper is to introduce a new quasi Sujatha distribution (NQSD), of which the following are particular cases: the Sujatha distribution devised by Shanker (2016 a), the sizebiased Lindley distribution, and the exponential distribution. Its moments and momentsbased measures are derived and discussed. Statistical properties, including the hazard rate and mean residual life functions, stochastic ordering, mean deviations, Bonferroni and Lorenz curves and stress-strength reliability are also analysed. The method of moments and the method of maximum likelihood estimations is discussed for estimating parameters of the proposed distribution. A numerical example is presented to test its goodness of fit, which is then compared with other one-parameter and two-parameter lifetime distributions.

    Aim. Little research has focused on hypersensitive narcissism in Slavic countries. One of the reasons for that is the absence of suitable inventories. The present study aims to make the Ukrainian adapted translation of the Hypersensitive Narcissism Scale (HSNS) and to check for its psychometric properties in a non-clinical sample. Methods. To prepare materials, we first conducted a double-blind translation procedure with further linguistic analysis. The following two empirical studies to collect data for statistical analysis were then made. Results. The data shows adequate internal consistency and scale validity, as well as a three-factor structure (obtained with the principal components analysis [PCA]), in line with the theoretical background. However, the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and Cronbach’s alphas analysis yield the unidimensional scale to be the best fit for the Ukrainian version. The data also support evidence for maladaptive social relationship patterns of people with high HSNS scores. Conclusion. We proved vulnerable and grandiose narcissism are qualitatively different phenomena and showed how a cultural context of narcissism manifestation may be reflected through social interactions and self-attitude. HSNS in Ukrainian is a reliable and valid tool for complex psychological personality research among non-clinical adult samples. Practical application. The proposed translation of the HSNS is adapted to be used for research in Ukrainian culture, with Ukrainian-speaking respondents and psychologists’ and psychotherapists’ clients.

    Opis:
    The psychometric properties of the author´s original tool named Questionnaire of the Relations between a Man and Animals (further on AniRe-Que) was constructed to assess the relations between a man and animals as natural beings; calculated in the form of an R-score (R as respect). The questionnaire is based on the theoretical outcomes of an egalitarian zoocentric, ecoethical position attributing moral statues to all beings, and measures the level of respect expression to nonhuman beings. The aim of this study was to verify its validity and reliability in a research sample of future primary and secondary teachers (N = 500, 62% of females, Mage=22.3; SD=4.1) at Matej Bel University in Banská  Bystrica, Slovakia. Various statistical procedures were used to verify its construct validity (exploratory factor analysis /EFA/) and its convergent/discriminating character, criterion validity, and reliability (test-retest, parallel-forms, internal consistency) to establish satisfactory psychometric properties for the AniRe-Que questionnaire. The questionnaire has possible usage for the animal relation estimation by researchers, practitioners and teachers´ ethical and environmental education intervention effectivitiveness, and also as a form of future international cooperation and verification based on this new instrument.
    Własności psychometryczne autorskiego narzędzia o nazwie Kwestionariusz relacji człowieka do zwierząt (dalej AniRe-Que) zostały skonstruowane do oceny relacji między człowiekiem a zwierzętami jako istotami żywymi; obliczany w formie wskaźnika R (R jak respekt). Kwestionariusz opiera się na teoretycznych wynikach egalitarnego zoocentrycznego stanowiska ekoetycznego przypisującego moralny status wszystkim istotom i mierzy poziom szacunku w stosunku do istot pozaludzkich. Celem tego opracowania jest weryfikacja trafności i rzetelności kwestionariusza na próbie badawczej przyszłych nauczycieli szkół podstawowych i średnich (N = 500, 62% kobiet, Mage = 22,3; SD = 4,1) na Uniwersytecie Mateja Bela w Banskiej Bystricy na Słowacji. Zastosowano różne procedury statystyczne, aby zweryfikować trafność jego konstrukcji (eksploracyjna analiza czynnikowa /EFA/) oraz jej zbieżny/dyskryminacyjny charakter, trafność kryterialną i rzetelność (powtórzenie testu, formy równoległe, spójność wewnętrzna) w celu ustalenia zadowalających właściwości psychometrycznych kwestionariusza AniRe-Que. Kwestionariusz może być wykorzystany do oceny stosunku do zwierząt przez teoretyków, praktyków i nauczycieli w zakresie skuteczności interwencji na polu edukacji etycznej i środowiskowej, a także jako forma przyszłej międzynarodowej współpracy i weryfikacji w oparciu o ten nowy instrument.

    Opis:
    The reliability of the mechanical properties of any product plays an important role in the longevity of the product to work properly under various working conditions. In the present study, the effect of preparing brass alloy on its mechanical properties was experimentally studied. Samples of brass (60% Cu-40% Zn) were prepared by hot iso-stating pressing (HIP) sintering method and some main mechanical tests were performed on them included porosity, density, hardness and compression tests. Results of these tests were compared with corresponding tests on commercial brass alloys produced by casting in order to show the effect of the method of preparing on their mechanical properties. There was a significant improvement in the hardness and strength of the sintered alloy due to the increasing in density and decreasing in porosity comparing with the corresponding other casting's alloys. Results showed an improvement in the density values by 8.4% as a result of the significant reduction in the porosity values from 8.65% to about 0.43%. As a result, the strength of the alloys prepared by the heat pressing method has jumped to a value of 600MPa compared to the traditional castings that have a strength of 343MPa.

    Opis:
    Chloride ion erosion in offshore environment may damage the mechanical properties of beam bridges. In this study, the reinforced concrete specimen was designed, accelerated erosion experiments were carried out to simulate the coastal corrosion environment, and the corrosion rate, nominal strength and equivalent strength of steel bars, concrete cracks and reliability of beam bridges were calculated to understand the time-varying mechanical properties of beam bridges. The results showed that the nominal and equivalent strength of reinforcing bars decreased with the increase of corrosion rate of reinforcing bars. The change of yield strength was greater than that of equivalent strength. The change of crack width of concrete showed a slow-fast-slow trend, and the reliability of beam bridges decreased significantly in about 50 years. The experimental results show that chloride ion corrosion can significantly damage the mechanical properties of the beam bridge and affect the time-varying reliability of the beam bridge. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out timely maintenance and inspection and take effective methods to control steel corrosion to ensure the safety of the use of the beam bridge.

    Opis:
    The aim of the article was to analyze changes in the trends of selected physical, chemical and functional properties of lubricating engine oil operating in a diesel-engine vehicle equipped with DPF. The vehicle was operated mainly in urban driving conditions (app. 70%), which impeded the DPF regeneration cycle and caused dilution of oil with unburned fuel. Changes in the following physical and chemical properties were assessed: the DF level in engine oil, viscosity (kinematic, dynamic HTHS and structural CCS), total base number, acid number as well as the degree of oxidation, nitration and sulphonation. The tests have shown that the amount of unburned fuel that goes to the engine crankcase due to the unfinished DPF regeneration cycle is as high as 26.0-34.6%. Dilution of the lubricating oil with fuel leads to a significant reduction of its viscosity - about 30% of the fuel content causes a decrease in the kinematic viscosity measured at 100°C to the level of 7.7 mm2/s. There was also a significant decrease in total base number (TBN) < 2 mg KOH/g, and an increase in the total acid number (TAN). Moreover, the results obtained were analyzed for potential effects that could have been caused during prolonged engine operation by assessing the content of trace elements in the samples taken.
