Opis:
Relay-based cooperative wireless networks have been widely considered one of the cost-effective solutions to meet the demands in future wireless networks. In order to maximize the overall sum-rate while maintaining proportional fairness among users, we investigate different resource allocation algorithms in two-way relay networks with analog network coding (ANC) protocol and time division broadcast (TDBC) protocol. The algorithms investigated are different from traditional proportional fairness schemes in terms of fairness and computational complexity as we have applied Access Proportional Fairness (APF) and Minimum Rate Proportional Fairness (MRPF) along with load balancing at the relays. A MATLAB simulation has been performed and simulation results show the effectiveness of these algorithms.

The article is concerned with the issues of practical utilization of controllers for automation in various technical fields as example Mitsubishi controllers of MELSEC FX1N and FX3U series. Any task, which requires the utilization of electrical control devices, is easy to solve by means of usage of programmable logic controllers. By using software with controllers programming package GX Developer, user has the possibility to program the controller or input changes into existing program. The Laboratory Stand was developed for effective learning of controller programming in LD language.
Artykuł dotyczy zagadnień praktycznego wykorzystania sterowników do automatyzacji w różnych dziedzinach technicznych, na przykład sterowników Mitsubishi serii MELSEC FX1N i FX3U. Każde zadanie, które wymaga wykorzystania elektrycznych urządzeń sterujących, można łatwo rozwiązać za pomocą programowalnych sterowników logicznych. Korzystając z oprogramowania z pakietem programowania sterowników GX Developer, użytkownik ma możliwość zaprogramowania sterownika lub wprowadzenia zmian do istniejącego programu. Stanowisko laboratoryjne zostało opracowane z myślą o efektywnej nauce programowania sterowników w języku LD.

W artykule przedstawiono algorytm samostrojenia przekaźnikowego zastosowany w mikroregulatorze temperatury RE71 z zielonogórskiego LUMEL-u. Daje on podobne wyniki do algorytmu Expert PID japońskiego regulatora SR-90 Shimaden. Nastawy regulatora PID zależą od dynamiki obiektu określonej przez stosunek opóźnienia do okresu oscylacji przekaźnikowych. Modyfikacji uległa także sama struktura pętli regulacyjnej.
Modification of relay self-tuning algorithm for RE71 temperature microcontroller (manufactured by LUMEL) was presented. Algorithm gives similar results as Expert PID algorithm implemented in SR-90 controller (by Shimaden). PID parameters depend on plant dynamics - delay to relay oscillation ratio. Controller block has also a special structure.

The paper presents the possibilities of using automatic switching, as a system for providing uninterrupted power supply in buildings located in the area of frequent interruptions in the power supply or equipped with renewable energy sources. Apart from the idea of the installation the paper presents an example of the program to control various functions of the system and software for visualization by tracking the availability of some power sources, to simulate their readiness for operation. The main focus is on simplicity and intuition in the use of programs that are available to the average user and can be used and modified from home, eg. a notebook or phone. For the analysis we used a fictitious electrical wiring design of a residential building, which is connected to renewable energy sources. Having selected the appropriate equipment and security, we divided the installation into sections of receiving power in terms of the validity of the power, which includes the automatic control.

The Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) MESH network technology gains popularity in low duty IoT systems. Its advantage is a low energy consumption that enables long lifetime of IoT systems. The paper proposes and evaluates new MRT management methods, i.e. exact and heuristic, that improves energy efficiency of BLEMESH network by minimizing the number of active relay nodes. The performed experiments confirm efficiency of the MRT methods resulting in significantly lower energy consumption of BLE MESH network.

The paper addresses issues associated with the application of federations of parallel/distributed simulators to large scale networks simulation. We discuss two principal paradigms for constructing simulations today. Particular attention is paid to an approach for federating parallel/distributed simulators. We describe the design and performance of frame relay network simulator (FR/ASimJava) implemented based on a Java-based library for distributed simulation - ASimJava. Six practical examples - six networks operating under frame relay - are presented to illustrate the operation of the given software tool. The focus is on the efficiency of presented network simulator.

Various intelligent transportation systems are proposed in different forms of wireless communication technologies. Recently, the importance of visible light communication and free-space optics has been demonstrated in accomplishing vehicle-to-vehicle and infrastructure-to-vehicle communication systems, due to power efficiency, free licenses, and safety for human health. In this paper, a new hybrid relay system supported by free-space optics/visible light communication with two scenarios is proposed. The first one is that the data are transferred from the source to the relay through a free-space optics communication link and are then directed to the destination through a visible light communication link. The second scenario is that the data are transmitted from the source to the destination passing through two different relays to ensure larger coverage. A 10‾⁶ bit error rate is achieved at a distance of 900 m for the first scenario with a remarkable signal-to-noise ratio of ~25.5 dB, while the largest distance that can be covered by the second scenario is 1200 m with a signalto- noise ratio of ~30 dB.

Zaprezentowano równania opisujące badany model oraz wyniki symulacji komputerowej.
The article presents a mathematical model of a mono-phase synchronous reed relay switch. The impact of changing values of contact current load on the operating dynamic was determined for resistance and induction loads. Additionally, the equations describing the tested model were given along with the results of computer simulation.

Digital filtering, correlation methods, time delay methods, signal differentiation are the most commonly used methods of estimating fundamental frequency orthogonal components utilized in magnitude estimators. The foundation for designing filters used in aforementioned methods are usually demanded frequency responses or signal models with their parameters to be estimated. A weak point of both approaches is frequency-domain modelling ignoring time-domain performance of the magnitude estimators. In order to fulfil the requirements of protection with the optimum speed for many different configurations, operating conditions and construction features of power systems, it is necessaiy to develop magnitude estimator design methods aimed at modelling with respect to highspeed response with simultaneous acceptable estimation accuracy in the steady state. The article discusses the implementation of Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm to optimization of current magnitude estimators designed for power system protection with the focus on estimators used in instantaneous overcurrent relays. The paper presents details of optimizing algorithm, power system model used for acquisition of signal patterns and estimator performance analyzes.

Opis:
The failure rate of sensor nodes in Heterogeneous Wireless Sensor Networks is high due to the use of low battery-powered sensor nodes in a hostile environment. Networks of this kind become non-operational and turn into disjoint segmented networks due to large-scale failures of sensor nodes. This may require the placement of additional highpower relay nodes. In this paper, we propose a network partition recovery solution called Grey Wolf, which is an optimizer algorithm for repairing segmented heterogeneous wireless sensor networks. The proposed solution provides not only strong bi-connectivity in the damaged area, but also distributes traffic load among the multiple deployed nodes to enhance the repaired network’s lifetime. The experiment results show that the Grey Wolf algorithm offers a considerable performance advantage over other state-of-the-art approaches.

The following paper will discuss selected literary forums and portals as environments in which users can attain, develop and perfect creative writing skills. They will also be examined as spaces enabling the introduction of innovative literary concepts that would be impossible or difficult to put into practice off-line or before the advent of computer networks. Due to these qualities, a description of such forums and portals could balance out the perception of the Internet as a medium promoting profanity and graphomania. The paper will describe the functioning of literary portals, which can be seen to initiate and promote creative writing on the Internet not merely by constituting hubs for on-line literary activity but mostly through various activities stimulating and encouraging literary production. Examples of such online activities will be provided, and demonstrated to encourage writing activity. They include relay writing, literary slam, and other practices providing non-material, non-financial gratification to writers. Finally, the paper will examine some problematic issues in the functioning of such literary environments.

The paper presents issues related to the cooperative communication in wireless networks. Cooperative communication involves the use of mobile terminals as relay stations to improve the transmission quality, improve network performance and reduce energy consumption. It is also possible to use several different data transmission standards. The paper presents the methods used to implement cooperative communication. The types of cooperative communication networks are also presented.
W artykule zaprezentowano zagadnienia związane z transmisją kooperacyjną. Polega ona na wykorzystaniu terminali ruchomych jako stacji przekaźnikowych w celu poprawy jakości transmisji i wydajności sieci oraz zmniejszenia zużycia energii. Zaprezentowano metody stosowane do realizacji transmisji kooperacyjnej i przedstawiono wykorzystujące ją rodzaje sieci.

In this article, we present a relay control scheme based on LQR design with fast convergence. This scheme provides a practical and simple way to achieve fast convergence based on the well-known LQR design principle. The controller is a global stabiliser in the sense that for any given initial condition, we can always initialize the controller to drive the system to reach the origin. This controller is tunable in accordance with the position of the system state: the closer to the origin, the larger the control gains, which results in a fast control that maintains bounded control magnitude. It has also been shown that setting matrix Q can significantly influence the tendency of eigenvalues to switch the hyperplane. The relation between matrix Q and the tendency of those eigenvalues has been identified. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the scheme.

Badania oparte na standardzie IEC 60255 mają postać szeregu testów wymaganych oraz opracowanych na podstawie owego standardu. Testom zostały poddane wybrane funkcje zabezpieczeniowe zaimplementowane w testowanych przekaźnikach zabezpieczeniowych REF 615 firmy ABB. Celem było porównanie otrzymanych wartości z deklarowanymi przez producenta oraz wyznaczenie zależności w funkcji rożnych, zmiennych warunków testowych.
The IEC 60255 standard defines the procedures for testing the operational effectiveness of relays and precisely defines the way of determining their parameters. This paper describing the IEC 60255 standard contains a number of tests required by this standard as well as tests inspired by this standard. The tests have been subjected to selected protection functions implemented in the tested protection relays. The tests also include the determination of the actual characteristics of the function start-up times, being a supplement to the rated parameters claimed by the relay manufacturer.
