Artykuł opisuje też wybrane aspekty idei społecznej i edukacyjnej, jaka rodziła się w publicznej przestrzeni kaszubskiej, a w końcowej części charakteryzuje teorię edukacji regionalnej Kazimierza Kossak-Główczewskiego.
The article describes a part of social practice in which the Kashubian community in Polish People’s Republic and in times of transformational breakthrough took some actions. They strived to protect the rights to preserve their language and culture, as well as cross-generation culture transmission. In particular, they demanded the right to Kashubian education at school. The article also describes some aspects of social and educational ideas which appeared in the Kashubian space. Finally the article describes the theory of regional education of Kazimierz Kossak-Główczewski.

Unstable currently communication between generations, migrations and life globalization makes that determining of own identity becomes more difficult.Simultaneously commercialization of cultural heritage along with the development of merket economy may result in a threat to existence of native or regional culture. Aim. The presented study aims to briefly present the possibilities of using and implementing elements of traditional culture in the teaching processat primary and secondary schools in Slovakia. It points out all the aspects and factors that enter the educational process when using these elements. Concept. Regional education is beingappliedin the educational environment of schools in order to develop the children with the right stimuli. The aim of including knowledge and partial topics of traditional folk culture in teaching is mainly to motivate students and arouse their interest in the cultural heritage of their ancestorsand country. We use comparative methods to clarify the relationships between ethnology, pedagogy, ethnopedagogy, and their interconnection in the pedagogical process. We define the primary goals of regional education, methods, and forms of teaching regional education, focusing on interactive forms of teaching. Results and conclusion. The values and the importance of traditional culture should be assessed in terms of the functions of education and training ina broader societal perspective.Regional education should make a significant contribution to the transmission of culture in education. The research results indicate the need to implement ethnopedagogy into the current educational process at all levels of education and scientifically verify its success. Research restrictions. The main research problems or limitations are related to the factthat this subdiscipline has not yet received attention in Slovakia. Originality. The paper presents an original view of ethnopedagogy and regional education issues through the lens of ethnology and pedagogy and defines key subjects of interest focusing on Slovak/Central European needs and contexts.

Opis:
The article addresses the implementation of regional education, a crucial component of socio-cultural identity. Its goal is to initiate a discussion on the essence of regional education in contemporary schools and present a pilot study on students’ knowledge about their region. The research shows that the role of schools in acquiring knowledge about the region is significantly smaller than that of the family environment, the Internet, or learning through social observation. The research indicates the need for broader studies on schools’ current curricula and educational offers in regional education. Its results also reveal the urgent need to restore the methodological foundations of regional education in Poland. It will help remind young people of the importance of local cultural heritage values and their own roots in their lives. A modern school also needs to restore the idea of regional education as civic education, which is necessary to shape competencies conducive to integration and openness to others. It is extremely important, especially in the current social situation related to the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Many regions of Europe are witnessing the reconstruction of regional identity, especially in places where radical social, cultural and economic changes occur. Economic restructuring is a factor of particular importance – it has always affected the stability of units such as a region, town and sometimes even a country. In Poland, this is well visible in the Silesian Voivodship, including in one of its sub-regions, the Dąbrowa Basin, presented in the paper. This young region, created as a result of 19-century pan-European industrialization, is inhabited mainly by descendants of immigrants from rural and small-town areas of Lesser Poland (Małopolska). Attempts have begun in many local groups and circles to strengthen the region’s identity – a process often accompanied by the creation of this identity and by inventing and hand-picking passages of the region’s history that serve this purpose. This poses a significant challenge for regional education where a serious dilemma appears: how to tackle invented tradition, how to evaluate it and what functions to assign to it.

The bibliographical guide for the teachers and the librarians of Często- chowa and its environs to the sources of regional information has the form of a bibliographical register which contains descriptions of non-serial publications; articles published in periodicals; electronic and multimedia sources which are available in various Częstochowa-based libraries. The Guide was developed according to the core curriculum issued in 1999 and in 2008, and it aids teachers in the selection of sources which are of utility in regional education.

The publication contains materials intended for teachers who realise a curriculum devoted to regional education in schools at all stages of education. The work entitled Przewodnik dla nauczycieli i bibliotekarzy Częstochowy i okolic po źródłach informacji regionalnej [A bibliographical guide to the sources of regional information about Częstochowa and its environs intended for teachers and librarians] – has the form of a bibliographical listing which contains description of non -serial publications, articles from periodicals, electronic and multimedia sources which are available in various libraries in Częstochowa. The Guide was developed in accordance with the core curricula of 1999 and 2008, and it aids teachers in the task of selecting sources which are useful in the regional education.

Artykuł jest omówieniem dwóch sposobów włączania i rozwijania zadań edukacji międzykulturowej na Lubelszczyźnie. Pierwszy – dotyczy praktycznych działań prowadzonych w szkołach na różnych poziomach kształcenia, a drugi – koncepcji studiów podyplomowych w zakresie edukacji europejskiej, regionalnej i międzykulturowej realizowanych w Instytucie Pedagogiki Uniwersytetu Marii Curie-Skłodowskiej. Stanowi on również refleksję nad możliwościami wykorzystania potencjału kultury lokalnej (materialnej, symbolicznej, społecznej) do tworzenia autorskich projektów szkolnych i programów nauczania realizujących cele edukacji międzykulturowej.
What the article explores are two ways of introducing and developing the tasks of intercultural education in Lublin area. The first concerns practical activities conducted in schools at different levels of education. The second way deals with the concept of post-graduate studies in European, regional and intercultural education, carried out in the Institute of Pedagogy of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska’s University. The study also contains reflection on possible applications of the potentialities of the local (material, symbolic, social) culture in constructing authorial school projects and curricula which fulfill the aims of intercultural education.

W opracowaniu podjęto próbę rozpoznania – czym w swej istocie był fenomen kulturowy „Młodokaszubi” i jakie wywarł on konsekwencje dla kształtowania kaszubskiej idei regionalizmu oraz w jaki sposób może wzbogacać myślenie o edukacji regionalnej w ogóle. Autorka formułuje tezę, zgodnie z którą myśl młodokaszubska stanowi punkt węzłowy etnicznej biografii Kaszubów – jest bowiem wyrazem kulturowego rozwoju idei regionalizmu kaszubskiego. Potwierdza zarazem Herderowską tezę, że każde jestestwo posiada własny świat, i to wewnątrz tego świata wytworzony powinien być typowy dla niego wzorzec. Regionalizm i edukacja regionalna są nierozerwalnie związane z pedagogicznością i politycznością kulturowego bycia człowieka w świecie.
What has been attempted in this study is recognizing what basically the cultural phenomenon of ‘Young Kashubians’ was and what its consequences were for shaping the Kashubian idea of regionalism and how it could enrich reflection on regional education in general. The authoress puts forward the thesis that the Young-Kashubian thought constitutes the key junction in the ethnic biography of Kashubians as it is a sign of the cultural development of the idea of Kashubian regionalism. This also confirms Herder’s thesis that each being has its own world and it is inside this world where the typical model of this being should be created. Regionalism and education are inseparable from pedagogical and political character of man’s cultural being in the world.

The undertaken considerations concern the role of regional education in shaping the regional identity of children between 5–12 years old before and during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. The basis of scientific analysis is the experience of children and their mothers. Regional education should lead to the development of the individual and collective identity of an individual, root a young person in his own cultural heritage and enable him to function creatively in a multicultural society. An outcome of the conducted research indicates minor impact of regional education in the range of shaping a regional identity of examined children during the period before the pandemic and its exacerbating ineffectiveness in the Times of isolation and distance learning. Mothers propound the need of action in the area of regional education in order to make children aware of their responsibility for their place of residence, the local community, the protection and multiplication of the cultural heritage of the region. The research indicates the need of consideration both: the current condition of regional education in kindergarten and school space and its actual role in the process of shaping children’s and youth’s regional identity.
Podjęte rozważania dotyczą roli edukacji regionalnej w kształtowaniu tożsamości regionalnej dzieci w wieku 5–12 lat przed i w okresie pandemii SARS-CoV-2. Podstawę analizy naukowej stanowią doświadczenia dzieci oraz ich matek. Edukacja regionalna powinna prowadzić do rozwoju tożsamości indywidualnej i zbiorowej jednostki, zakorzeniać młodego człowieka we własnym dziedzictwie kulturowym i umożliwiać mu kreatywne funkcjonowanie w społeczeństwie wielokulturowym. Wyniki przeprowadzonych badań wskazują na niewielkie oddziaływanie edukacji regionalnej w zakresie kształtowania tożsamości regionalnej badanych dzieci w okresie przed pandemią i pogłębiającą się jej nieefektywność w czasach izolacji i nauki zdalnej. Matki postulują potrzebę działań w obszarze edukacji regionalnej w celu uświadamiania dzieciom ich odpowiedzialności za miejsce zamieszkania, społeczność lokalną, ochronę oraz pomnażanie dziedzictwa kulturowego regionu. Badania wskazują na konieczność zastanowienia się nad stanem obecnej edukacji regionalnej w przestrzeni przedszkoli i szkół oraz jej rzeczywistej roli w procesie kształtowania tożsamości regionalnej dzieci i młodzieży.

Ewa Lach’s Na latającym dywanie [On the Flying Carpet] is a novel based on the theme of time travel. The book has a lasting value due to its entertainment and educational values. Regional themes and the regional setting. i.e., the Beskid-Silesian and Upper Silesian scenery, play an important role in it. Rather than historical knowledge, Ewa Lach popularizes literary and film conventions: western, the tales from One Thousand and One Nights, the historical-sensational novel, and fantasy (including science fiction). In this way, the book popularizes reading among its audience and encourages participation in mass culture. The book is still finding interested readers.

Celem tego opracowania jest próba przedstawienia zmian w zakresie edukacji regionalnej na Górnym Śląsku w kontekście edukacji międzykulturowej z uwzględnieniem aspektu doskonalenia kadry pedagogicznej w tym zakresie. Artykuł przedstawia prawne uwarunkowania edukacji regionalnej w Polsce po okresie transformacji ustrojowej ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem prawa oświatowego. Głównym obszarem rozważań staje się edukacja regionalna i jej rola w środowiskach zróżnicowanych kulturowo. Kluczową rolę w edukacji regionalnej odgrywają nauczyciele - regionaliści. Autorka zwraca uwagę na potrzebę doskonalenia nauczycieli w tym zakresie.
The aim of this elaboration is an attempt to illustrate the changes in the field of regional education in the Upper Silesia in the context of multicultural and intercultural education with reference to the aspect of teachers’ development in this regard. The article presents legal determinants of regional education in Poland after political transformation period with particular focus on education law. The main field of discussion becomes regional education and its role in culturally diverse environment. Teachers play the key role in regional education - regionalists. The author pays attention to the need of teachers’ development in this respect.
