    W artykule podjęty został problem grup nacisku i organizacji społecznych związanych z japońskim rządem, które wywierają realny wpływ na współczesną politykę pamięci. Analizie poddano takie grupy, jak Stowarzyszenia Świątyń Sintoistycznych (Jinja Honchō) oraz Japońskie Stowarzyszenie Rodzin, które Straciły Bliskich w Czasie Wojny Nihon Izokukai. W celu weryfi kacji hipotezy o wpływie tych organizacji na kształt polityki pamięci analizie poddane zostały ofi cjalne struktury wspomnianych grup nacisku. Ukazano przez to formalne zasady, jakimi kierują się one przy przyjmowaniu rozstrzygnięć w kontekście pomników i miejsc pamięci.
    In this article I focus on so called ‘pressure groups’ and social organizations related to the Japanese government, which have a real impact on modern memory politics. I analyzed two organizations, such as The Association of Shinto Shrines (Jinja Honchō), and The Japan War-Bereaved Families Association Nihon Izokukai. To verify the hypothesis about the impact of these organizations onto the shape of contemporary politics of remembrance, the offi cial structures of these pressure groups were analyzed to show the formal principles they pursue when taking decisions on diff erent memorials and places of remembrance.

    This article presents the transformation in Bosnia and Herzegovina which began after the war during the years 1991-1995. The most important objective was the liberation and emancipation of the forgotten memory of minorities. These processes are also expressed in relation to the Polish minority which came into existence in the territories of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century with the government takeover by Austria-Hungary and the announcement of the program of colonization. The changes described were significantly apparent in the reconstruction of Polish realms of memory: Polish shrines in Celinovac, Polish church in Cerovljani, Polish cemeteries: in Devetina and Novi Martinac and also in the Yugoslav-Polish partisan cemetery in Srbac. Of interest, the ‘time of memory’ which took place involved all social actors: the government of the Republic of Srpska and the municipalities of Srbac and Nowogrodziec, the Embassy of the Polish Republic in Sarajevo, representatives of local communities - Serbs and the Polish minority from Ćelinovac.
    Artykuł prezentuje przemiany, które od czasu zakończenia wojny 1991–1995 roku dokonują się w granicach Bośni i Hercegowiny. Ich głównym celem jest wyzwalanie i emancypacja pamięci zapomnianych mniejszości narodowych. Procesy te dotyczą również polskiej mniejszości narodowej, która na terytorium Bośni i Hercegowiny pojawiła się pod koniec XIX i na początku XX wieku wraz z przejęciem administracji przez Austro-Węgry oraz ogłoszeniem programowej kolonizacji. Najsilniej ujawniają się w rekonstruowaniu polskich miejsc pamięci: polskiej kapliczki w Ćelinovacu, polskiego kościoła w Cerovljanach, cmentarzy polskich w Devetinie i Nowym Martyńcu oraz partyzanckiego jugosłowiańsko-polskiego w Srbacu. Co ciekawe, „czas pamięci“, który nastał, odcisnął swe piętno na działalności wszystkich aktorów społecznych: władz Republiki Serbskiej oraz gminnych, w tym wypadku gmin Srbac oraz Nowogrodziec, Ambasady Rzeczypospolitej w Sarajewie, przedstawicieli społeczności lokalnych – Serbów oraz polskiej mniejszości narodowej z Ćelinovaca.

    W artykule boom polskiego rocka lat 80. XX wieku interpretuję jako sferę nostalgicznej mitologii, a zjawisko „pokolenia Jarocina” i Festiwal Muzyków Rockowych w Jarocinie traktuję jako miejsca pamięci (lieux de memoire, zgodnie z definicją Pierre’a Nory) o naturze politycznej. Festiwal w Jarocinie (z okresu z pierwszej połowy lat 80.) rozpatrywać obecnie można jako swoistą formę obecności przeszłości w działaniach podejmowanych współcześnie, mających na celu uobecnienie i reprodukcję ważkich dla społeczeństwa polskiego wartości. Za istotne dla tak rozumianego miejsca pamięci uznać należy jarocińskie rytuały, wspólnotę tworzoną przez muzyków i publiczność Festiwalu, wydarzenia, ludzi i miejsca, które wiążą się z Jarocinem. Co istotne, Festiwal stał się doświadczeniem formacyjnym dla generacji młodych ludzi, artyoddziałującym w sposób grupotwórczy dla wielu środowisk (przede wszystkim subkulturowych) i jednocześnie okazał się jednym z istotnych czynników prowadzących do erozji niedemokratycz nego systemu politycznego w Polsce.
    In the paper the boom of Polish rock music of the 1980s is interpreted as a sphere of nostalgic mythology, and the phenomenon of the “Jarocin generation” and the Rock Musicians’ Festival in Jarocin is considered the realm of memory (lieux de mémoire, according to the definition of Pierre Nora) of political nature. The Jarocin Festival (from the first half of the 1980s) can now be seen as a kind of presence of the past in today’s activities, aimed at the presentation and reproduction of several values important for the Polish society. Such a realm of memory consists of Jarocin rituals, a community created by musicians and the audience of the Festival, events, people and places related to Jarocin. More importantly, the Festival has become a formative experience for the generation of young people, interacting in a grouping fashion for many (mostly subcultural) communities, and simultaneously, it has become one of the important factors leading to the erosion of the non-democratic political system in Poland.

    The Literary Group “PODIUM Schloss Neulengbach” is an association of originally Lower Austrian writers – in the broadest sense. This statement has far-reaching consequences, since it is not about uniting random individuals with a common desire to recollect their own memories in the literary form with a view to handing them over to descendants, but above all it is about a literary group that has existed for almost 50 years and includes about 200 active members. Over time, the Group created its history and developed its own tradition, which became the content of shared memories, evolving into a kind of “realm of memory” (lieu de mémoire) in the understanding of Pierre Nora. Through establishing a social group, individuals with their own memories transfer their experience to a wider field of unity, beginning to form a collective memory. The report focuses on the research of remembrance issues in a case study of poetic texts included in the leaflets, which Literaturkreis PODIUM publishes annually before the Poetry Day. The purpose of the report is to identify and describe the main Austrian “realms of memory” actualized in the mentioned texts, as well as to describe the specifics of their actualization. The complete analysis of all the leaflet texts dating from 1973 to 2019 made it possible to outline four specific Austrian complexes of “realms of memory” relating to the concepts as follows: SCHULD/VERANTWORTUNG, GEMÜT/KINDHEIT, HEIMAT and IDENTITÄTEN.

    Looking for motivating concepts to stimulate integrated language and culture-related teaching and learning processes in the foreign language classroom, the vibrant concept of Cultural Memory is certainly an issue to pay attention to. It offers a variety of occasions for language and culture awareness training tightly connected with language learning, reaching far beyond traditional regional studies. Realms of memory, acting as products and markers of a complex cultural memory, can reveal to what extent (by whom, by which means, to what aims) cultural patterns and meanings are constructed, how they change or under which circumstances they survive long periods of time. Up-to-date foreign language didactics can make use of this in aiming at symbolic competence (Claire Kramsch). Understanding culture as an ongoing process of (de-and re-)construction, learners might be enabled to notice and (partly) participate in authentic discourses, going on in different languages. Realms of memory, manifesting themselves per definition e.g. as texts, pictures, sounds, buildings, historic or mythic persons, objects, terms or whole cultural concepts, own a considerable linguistic and cultural potential. This clearly points at content and process oriented learning processes involving the foreign language as a natural means of exploration.The article discusses criteria which might help to choose realms of memory suitable for the foreign language classroom and takes a look at two genuinely “German-speaking” examples in the field of sport (Córdoba1978) and everyday objects (Schweizermesser). They can illustrate the wide range of didactic possibilities and stimulating methods which arise from authentic and vivid parts of a widely understood culture.

    One of the main aims of uniting Europe is to create a common European culture of remembrance. To achieve this, different transnational projects are carried out, especially in historical sciences, but increasingly also in other disciplines such as pedagogy. This paper shows a new solution in teaching German as a foreign language at an academic level using the didactics of culture. The lesson unit discussed in this paper was developed within a bilateral project New models of didactics of culture. Polish-German realms of memory during a workshop which had been conducted by students of four universities (two Polish and two German), in order to design lessons curriculums. This article discusses how history and foreign language can be taught within an intercultural lesson unit which focuses on area studies.
