Opis:
This paper presents a proposal for structuring real-time programs in a way that improves their reliability. Basically, it consists of five constructs that have been designed after the model of classical "structured programming", together with a generalized way of dealing with resources. After some considerations about reliability these constructs are presented and explained. Then, a test implementation for two different programming languages and operating systems is briefly described. Finally, some pieces of code give an impression of the character of the method.

Opis:
In this paper, we present a method of a synthesis of adaptive schedulers for real-time embedded systems. We assume that the system is implemented using a multi-core embedded processor with low-power processing capabilities. First, the developmental genetic programming is used to generate the scheduler and the initial schedule. Then during the system execution, the scheduler modifies the schedule whenever the execution time of the recently finished task has been shorter or longer than expected. The goal of rescheduling is to minimize the power consumption while all time constraints will be satisfied. We present a real-life example as well as some experimental results showing the advantages of the method.

Opis:
This paper presents the small signal modeling using the state space averaging technique and reliability analysis of a three-phase z-source ac-ac converter. By controlling the shoot-through duty ratio, it can operate in buck-boost mode and maintain desired output voltage during voltage sag and surge condition. It has faster dynamic response and higher efficiency as compared to the traditional voltage regulator. Small signal analysis derives different control transfer functions and this leads to design a suitable controller for a closed loop system during supply voltage variation. The closed loop system of the converter with a PID controller eliminates the transients in output voltage and provides steady state regulated output. The proposed model designed in the RT-LAB and executed in a field programming gate array (FPGA)-based real-time digital simulator at a fixedtime step of 10 μs and a constant switching frequency of 10 kHz. The simulator was developed using very high speed integrated circuit hardware description language (VHDL), making it versatile and moveable. Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation results are presented to justify the MATLAB simulation results during supply voltage variation of the three phase z-source ac-ac converter. The reliability analysis has been applied to the converter to find out the failure rate of its different components.

Opis:
W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję, a następnie wybrane, kluczowe szczegóły budowy systemu kontrolno-pomiarowo-symulacyjnego czasu rzeczywistego. System ten znajduje zastosowanie w badaniach metod aktywnej redukcji drgań. Zamieszczono przykłady rezultatów badań obrazujące możliwości zastosowania systemu. Dzięki systemowi uzyskano również możliwość szybszego prototypowania algorytmów sterowania oraz obniżono koszty badań.
One of the important problems that may be encountered during milling operations are tool-workpiece relative vibrations [1]. There are many methods of their reduction, particularly including active ones [1-10]. In the paper, an idea of a real time control, measurement and simulation system utilised for studies on active vibration control is presented and its selected key elements are described. The system is based on the PXI platform and is programmed in LabView RT environment (Figs. 1, 2).The organisation of the main control loops in control programs is described in detail (Fig. 3). In order to generate a force acting on the plate, one or two pizeoactutators are used (Fig. 4). They allow not only actively reducing but also exciting vibrations, which are used in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulations. In this approach some parts of the controlled system (i.e. cutting process) are simulated, while the others are real (i.e. machined plate). This reduces the time of control law prototyping and testing significantly. It also reduces research costs as there is less need for performing experiments on a real milling centre. The presented system allows measuring vibrations, calculating a control signal for actuators and performing HIL simulations with the same hardware and software. The presented examples of the results obtained thanks to the system (Figs. 5-7) show its versatility and effectiveness. This confirms that the initial idea and chosen programming solutions are correct.
