Opis:
The paper concerns building up one exhaust valve of composite-steel and two intake ceramics-steel valves of a hypothetical adiabatic engine. The input temperatures were computed using three diverse FORTRAN95 programs, solving a shortened optical integral equation with radiative transfer, transient differential equation while starting and switching off the engine and a rod like diff. Equation with 'progonka' (Thomas) solution. The ANSYS11 programme was fed up with the output of the programs. It turns out that, generally, a mineralogical, crystal-chemical approach to the joining of materials results in stresses known from the common metal engines. Such problems as CTE enhancing (partly hypothetical) by means of doping the anionic compounds by cationic ones, swelling of structures, compressibility versus coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) , compatibility of crystal motifs while joining, thermal shock resistance, switching the bonds, mechanical longevity, radiation protection etc were addressed. It turns out that true nature of the temperature and stress field, especially of the exhaust valve is closer to the FORTRAN temperature computation than, e.g. From the heat film coefficients (ANSYS11).

Opis:
Steel bars are manufactured in the rolling process, whereby they are characterized by strain hardening and poor plastic properties. In many application cases such properties are improper, therefore, additional heat treatment is required. Crucial influence on the products quality after heat treatment has an appropriate selection of process parameters. In many modern technologies of heat treatment the charge of porous structure is subjected to the heating process. Proper control of heat treatment parameters of bundles of rods requires knowledge on their thermal properties. However, it also requires accurate identification of complex heat transfer processes occurring in the porous material. Such analysis, with respect to bundles of bars, provide a response of qualitative nature of the heat exchange area of these charges. The article describes the emissivity measurements of samples of the steel charge using a thermal imaging camera.

Opis:
In this work, a heat transfer study is carried out in a convective-radiative straight fin with temperature-dependent thermal conductivity and a magnetic field using the variation of parameters method. The developed heat transfer model is used to analyze the thermal performance, establish the optimum thermal design parameters and investigate the effects of thermo-geometric parameters and non-linear thermal conductivity parameters on the thermal performance of the fin. The results obtained are compared with the results in literature and good agreements are found. The analysis can serve as basis for comparison of any other method of analysis of the problem and it also provides a platform for improvement in the design of fin in heat transfer equipment.
