    Głównym założeniem artykułu jest skontrolowanie jakości ram okiennych przy produkcji okien. W artykule wykorzystano tradycyjne narzędzie zarządzania jakością, jakim jest diagram Pareto - Lorenza. W wyniku przeprowadzonych badań przy użyciu diagramu Pareto - Lorenza określone priorytetowe dla badanego produktu niezgodności. Następnym krokiem było wskazanie sposobów ich zapobiegania. Zastosowanie diagramu Pareto - Lorenza pomogło zweryfikować częstość pojawiania się niezgodności. Wykorzystane narzędzie pozwoliło zweryfikować najczęstsze błędy pojawiające się podczas produkcji ram okiennych. Poprzez poddawanie produktów analizie jakości i zastosowaniu odpowiednich narzędzi, przedsiębiorstwo może polepszać jakość wytwarzanych produktów. Uzyskane wyniki przedsiębiorstwo może wprowadzać rozwiązania dotyczące występowania niezgodności mające na celu doskonalenie produktu.
    The main assumption of the article is to check on the quality of window frames in window production. The article uses a traditional quality management tool, which is the Pareto-Lorenz diagram. As a result of the tests carried out, using the Pareto-Lorenz diagram, the priority non-compliances for the tested product have been identified. The next step strived to identify the measures necessary to prevent them. The employment of the Pareto-Lorenz diagram allowed to verify the incidence of the occurrence of non-compliances. Moreover, the tool allowed to verify the most common errors that may appear during the production of window frames. Thanks to frequent quality controls and the application of appropriate tools, the company can improve the quality of manufactured products. The results obtained may push the company to introduce solutions aimed at improving the product and overcoming various non-conformities.

    Głównym założeniem artykułu jest skontrolowanie jakości prętów okrągłych wykonanych ze stali. W artykule zastosowano narzędzie zarządzania jakością, jakim jest diagram Pareto-Lorenza. W wyniku dokonanych badań przy wykorzystaniu diagramu Pareto-Lorenza określono niezgodności prętów okrągłych. Kolejnym krokiem było wskazanie sposobów ich zapobiegania. Użycie diagramu Pareto-Lorenza umożliwiło zweryfikować częstość pojawiania się niezgodności oraz błędów występujących podczas produkcji prętów okrągłych.
    The main assumption of the article is to check the quality of round bars made of steel. The article uses a quality management tool, Pareto-Lorenzo diagram. As a result of the tests carried out using the Pareto-Lorenz diagram, incompatibilities of round bars were determined. The next step was to identify ways to prevent them. The use of the Pareto-Lorenza diagram made it possible to verify the incidence of inconsistencies and errors occurring during the production of round bars.

    Opis:
    Purpose: The goal of the paper is to analyses process of implementation and effectiveness of 5S method in an industrial enterprise. Design/methodology/approach: Critical literature analysis, questionnaire analysis, case study analysis. Findings: On the example of industrial organization that was in the presented paper an analysis of effectiveness of 5S implementation. On the basis of conducted analysis the main objectives of using 5S are: order in the workplace, maintenance of cleanliness and efficiency of machines and devices, shorter duration of activities. The main causes of problems with 5S implementation are connected with no time to do the work and lack of funds. The overall rating of efficiency of 5S method in analyzed enterprise is very good. Originality/value: Detailed analysis of main objectives of using 5S method and the main causes of problems with it in the industrial enterprise.

    Celem artykułu było zwrócenie uwagi na istotę narzędzi zarządzania jakością, które chronią przedsiębiorstwo przed zagrożeniem w postaci wad, a w konsekwencji odpływem klientów. Przedstawiono analizę przyczyn wystąpienia wady, jaką jest niedostateczne przyleganie okleiny do ramiaka pionowego drzwi wewnątrzlokalowych STILE. W tym celu wykorzystano takie narzędzia jak diagram Ishikawy oraz metodę FMEA. W wyniku badań zidentyfikowano kluczowe przyczyny występowania wady oraz zaproponowano sposoby ich eliminacji.
    The aim of the study was to draw attention to the essence of quality management tools that protect the company from the risk of defects and consequently the outflow of customers. The paper presents an analysis of the causes of the defect of insufficient adhesion of the veneer to the vertical stile of the STILE internal door. For this purpose, tools such as the Ishikawa diagram and the FMEA method were used. As a result of the study, the main causes of the defect were identified and methods of elimination.

    Artykuł przedstawia przykładowe zastosowanie narzędzia zarządzania jakością do przeprowadzenia analizy, interpretacji oraz prezentacji wyników badań w branży stolarskiej. Posłużył do tego diagram przyczynowo - skutkowy Ishikawy. Celem artykułu jest ustalenie przyczyn jakościowych w przedsiębiorstwie stolarskim. za pomocą diagramu przyczynowo skutkowego zidentyfikowano najczęściej pojawiające się niezgodności wraz z określeniem przyczyn ich powstania. Przytoczono przykłady działań za pomocą których możliwa jest eliminacja i powstawanie niezgodności.
    The article presents an exemplary usage of a quality management tool to analyse, interpret and present research results in the joinery industry. The Ishikawa cause and effect diagram served this purpose. The purpose of the article is to determine the quality reasons in a given carpentry enterprise. The application of the cause and effect diagram allows to detect a number of reasons of the appearance of nonconformities. The application of the cause and effect diagram allows to identify the most common non-conformities, and to determine the reasons for their occurrence. Examples of activities directed at the elimination of non-conformities have been also quoted.

    Tapping is a very common machining process for producing internal threads. A tap is a cylindrical or tapered thread cutting tool having threads of a desired form on the periphery. Combining rotary motion with axial motion, a tap cuts or forms the internal thread. Due to desired accuracy and versatility of thread profiles most taps are made of high speed steel. Physical surface coating taps (monolayer, duplex or triplex) increases tap life and improves thread finish. Regarding the CNC canned cycles the demands on safe tool performance of the threads are more and more urgent. This paper deals with a study of 2D surface parameters, Coulomb´s coefficient of friction, energy consumption and cutting/forming performance of selected PVD coated HSS taps when machining of carbon steel C45 and forming of hardened steel 42CrMo4V.

    The purpose of the paper is to present the author’s reflections on the origin and popularity of various approaches to maintenance and improvement of production processes, their terminological consistency, understanding, and practical application of their principles. The author’s reflections are based on his observations made over his many years of activity as a lecturer and consultant in the area of production engineering and management. It was shown that there is a need to make scientists and practitioners aware of the relatively large degree of freedom in defining the scope and way of application of strategies of continuous improvement. The author’s proposal is to refer to all approaches to maintenance and improvement of production processes with the title “Strategies of Efficient Action” and all supporting methods as “Practices of Efficient Action”. Considerations presented in the paper can be useful in more and more efficiently applying the power of TQM, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and other strategies of processes maintenance and improvement in the daily activities of companies.

    Magnesium-based MMCs are widely used in structural-based applications due to their lightweight, high hardness, corrosion and wear resistance. Also, machining is an important manufacturing process that is necessary to ensure dimensional accuracy and produce intricate shapes. In this context, the machining of Magnesium based metal matrix composites is undertaken to study the impact of the cutting parameters on the machinability behaviour. In this work, turning of pure Mg/SiCp on a Lathe is done and an in-depth assessment on the machining forces, machined surface quality, chip microstructure, and tool morphology has been carried out using TiAlN coated tooling insert. The analysis revealed that the thrust force decreased due to the thermal softening of the matrix meanwhile the feed force also followed the similar trend at higher cutting speeds because of the minimized built-up edge and cutting depth whereas principal cutting force was inconsistent at higher cutting speeds. The surface finish was better at high cutting speed - low feed combination. The chip microstructure revealed that gross fracture propagation at the free surface and variations in the shear bands have occurred at different cutting speeds. Tool studies using SEM analysis revealed wear modes like chipping and built-up edge at low cutting speeds, but with a reduced impact at intermediate cutting conditions, whereas abrasion wear was observed predominantly in the tool nose at higher cutting speeds.

    That article checked possibility of a research tool drawn up in MS Excel. As part of the implementation were shown assumption in which that tool has been built and were discussed the characteristics of its construction. In the conclusion were presented possibilities of that project and possibilities of his development.

    In this publication we presented and analyzed the difficulties faced by businesses in differentiating processes and constituent procedures from persons concerned. It presented as a tool for evaluating sample categories that makeup the occurrence of inconsistencies in the manufacturing process of the Italian company.
    W publikacji zaprezentowano i przeanalizowano trudności, z jakimi borykają się przedsiębiorcy w odróżnianiu procesów i składających się na nie procedur od osób, których one dotyczą. Przedstawiono także narzędzie służące wartościowaniu przykładowych kategorii przyczyn, jakie składają się na występowanie niezgodności w procesie produkcyjnym wybranego przedsiębiorstwa włoskiego.
