    Many companies are seeking to gain competitive advantage with respect to cost, quality, service and on-time deliveries. The effect of maintenance on these variables has prompted increased attention to the realm of maintenance as an integral part of productivity improvement. The Maintenance Management Framework is a strategy, a form of guidance and a tool indispensable to the maintenance department to attain quality, efficiency, and effectiveness in performing its mission responsibilities. In a company benefiting from a quality management system, this framework should be founded on the seven principles of quality management according to ISO 9000:2015.
    Przedsiębiorstwa starają się uzyskać przewagę konkurencyjną poprzez zwrócenie uwagi na koszty, jakość i terminowość dostaw. Wpływ utrzymania ruchu na te zmienne skłania zarządzających do zwrócenia uwagi na procesy utrzymania ruchu i uznania tego obszaru jako integralnej części doskonalenie produktywności przedsiębiorstwa. Ramy zarządzania utrzymaniem ruchu określone są poprzez strategie, przewodniki i narzędzia niezbędne dla działu utrzymania ruchu, aby osiągnąć jakość, efektywność i skuteczność w wykonywaniu swoich obowiązków. W przedsiębiorstwie, które utrzymuje system zarządzania jakością, ramy te powinny być oparte na siedmiu zasadach zarządzania jakością zgodnie z normą ISO 9000: 2015.

    W pracy opisano ocenę przydatności ośmiu zasad zarządzania jakością przez zespół pracowników przedsiębiorstwa posiadającego wdrożony System Zarządzania Jakością według normy ISO 9001. Zespół przeprowadzał demontaż urządzeń górniczych przeznaczonych do remontu. Oceny dokonało 50 członków zespołu, którzy korzystając z odpowiedniej ankiety, indywidualnie przypisywali każdej zasadzie wartości od 1 do 10 proporcjonalnie do stopnia jej przydatności w swojej praktyce zawodowej. Wyniki badania ankietowego pokazały w jakim stopniu osoby pracujące razem, wykonujące tę samą pracę, mają różne zdanie na temat wykonywanych czynności oraz związanych z nimi kwestii organizacyjnych z punktu widzenia zarządzania jakością. Rezultat badań uwidocznił obszary potrzebnych szkoleń pracowników w zakresie doskonalenia ich kultury jakości.
    This paper contains the usefulness assessment of eight principles of quality management by a team of workers of an enterprise with implemented Quality Management System corresponding to the ISO 9001 standard. Workers of the team executed dismantling of mining devices designed for repair. The assessment was made by 50 team members who assigned individually numbers from 1 to 10 to each principle proportionally to the degree of it usefulness in their vocational practice, taking advantage of a corresponding questionnaire. Results of the studies revealed areas of necessary training of the workers in the field of their quality culture improvement.

    The quality management system in an organization can ensure the safety of the organization's operation by unambiguous definition of tasks, competences and responsibilities of employees and continuous improvement of the activities carried out. eTh implementation of procedures resulting from the essence of the quality management system in an organization are flexible enough to be able to react freely to change taking place in its environment, and thus should be focused on continuous improvement. In order to be able to perform the tasks and achieve the goals resulting fro the implementation of the strategy, the company must have the tools and means tha will allow it to shape the product quality at all stages of the production and commercialization cycle. The aim of the article is to present the place that the instrument of improving quality management systems occupy in ensuring safe functioning.

    The paper presents an analysis of an innovative method based on the principles of the Toyota Production System - BOST survey, which was carried out in 8 selected production companies from the plastics processing industry operating in the Silesian Voivodeship. Each question in the BOST survey relates to a given Toyota Rule and the Toyota House Roof. Thanks to this survey, you can learn the opinion of the surveyed employees on many areas of the functioning of a given enterprise, which may be an important hint to the operational and strategic activities of the enterprise. In the study, 1 question was selected for analysis, containing a set of factors (areas) closely related to process improvement and personal characteristics of the respondents was analyzed. The result of the work is to determine the position of quality in the continuous improvement process according to the surveyed employees and to propose improvement activities for selected companies.

    The importance of visual inspection in the production process is a very important factor, possibly due to the relatively rapid separation of defective products complying with standards. In order to improve the quality of ongoing processes companies choose preventive action, which are based on the first step to control various operations and finished products. The flat products rolling process is dependent on many factors (temperature charge / band, the rolling rhythm, the length of the band, interruption in the rolling mill, etc.) that affect the quality of the final product. Proper conduct the rolling process is therefore dependent on its control (including visual inspection) and the staff decisions properly, in cases of the disturbance. The paper presents results of studies conducted in one of the national flat products rolling mill. A survey was performed using the BOST method. It is a method in which Toyota's management principles are described characteristic factors. Respondents were asked to answer the question: "What is the most important factor in the visual control?“.

    This study aimed to explore the potential impact of the Lean Manufacturing methodology on the implementation and functioning of the BRC Standard for Packaging. The study highlighted many issues where the Lean Manufacturing concept supports and opposes the BRC Standard for Packaging. A framework for the coexistence of both approaches was determined. The study was of a conceptual nature; it adopted an analytical approach. The approach was based on in-depth consideration of each requirement in the BRC Standard for Packaging s and an assessment of the coherence with the Lean Manufacturing methodology. As a result, many conclusions, clues and challenges were found. The article indicates several areas, in which Lean Manufacturing supports the BRC Standard for Packaging, attributing a special positive role to Lean Tools & Techniques. Also, it indicates six areas, in which the BRC Standard for Packaging contradicts the Lean Manufacturing approach. A comprehensive analysis of the coexistence of both management systems allows a better understanding of challenges while implementing both of them in an organisation. The presented concept of the coexistence of both systems is valuable for management.
