W artykule zwrócono uwagę na zagadnienie „spójności informacji”, które w procesie decyzyjnym nabiera szczególnej wagi. Częste zakłócenia tejże spójności są powodowane przez ludzi oraz urządzenia techniczne. Wyróżniono zakłócenia przypadkowe i celowe. Zakłócenia przypadkowe związane są ze zdarzeniami losowymi, a zakłócenia celowe są efektem niedozwolonych działań ludzi. Ujęcie takie zastosowano do analizy zadań poszczególnych faz zarządzania kryzysowego. W wyniku analizy stwierdzono, że w realizacji tych zadań występują głównie przypadkowe zakłócenia spójności informacji.
Highlighting the ambiguity of the information notion, the authors refer to C. Berman who discusses the information in four following meanings: as a thing, as a measurable size, as a potential and as a change. The article turns to the idea of information consistency, which in decision making process becomes especially important. Frequent disruptions of that consistency are caused by humans and by technical devices. The authors distinguished the accidental and intentional disruptions. The accidental disturbances are strongly connected with occidental events and mean the damage and destruction of information due to disasters such as fire, flood (including flooding because of broken water supply and sewage system), tremors (due to the earthquake, war, explosion of gas and explosive materials) as well as due to disturbing magnetic field or electromagnetic fluctuation. Intentional distortions are the result of improper human activities including the people who are not authorized either to carry out certain activities or to information access. The authors distinguished computer crimes, economic spying, sabotage and code breaking. This treatment was applied to extreme situations that is to emergency situations and the authors analysed the tasks of every single phase of crisis management. While the tasks are carried out, there occur considerable disturbances, mainly unintentional interference of information consistency.

The article presents the author's model of evaluation of the quality of documents in quality management systems. Among others, descriptions of processes that provide users with information on the course or completion of a process are used in management systems for purposes of standardization of processes. In relation to the information satiety curve showing that once a certain level of amount of information is achieved, the quality of decisions taken on the basis of such information decreases, a problem arises with defining such an amount of information in a process description, in order to ensure as rational level for control, as possible. To achieve that, the author suggests a model whose main objective is to automate the activities of designating the characteristics of the process description (information quality) for a specific instance of a process. The initial elements of the model are activities of gathering the data on the process's features and the data on information related requirements of the executors of processes. Later on, the socalled information vector, pointing to a given type of description of a process, must be specified. Then, the types of descriptions of processes are linked with homoge-neous groups of processes that were specified on the basis of parameters that characterize processes.

The aim of this article is to present results of studies on the relationship between the evaluation of the quality of the information contained on a website of an insurer and its competitive position. The evaluation of the quality of the information on the websites of insurance companies was based on the scoring method using an original tool to assess the quality of the information on the Internet. Its structure is based on the model of the information quality proposed by Eppler and includes 16 statements concerning individual quality criteria. The assessment of the competitive position of insurers took into account their share in the market of personal and property insurances (measured by the share in gross written premium) and the scale of the impact on the market through their websites (measured by their popularity). The studies carried out and the analysis of their results did not confirm the existence of statistically significant correlation between the quality of the information contained on the websites of insurers and their share in the market. However, the hypothesis was verified that there is a statistically significant correlation between the quality of the information contained on the websites of insurers and their popularity.

The article discusses the issues related to organizational changes in the Polish police, the role of the management and executive staff in the changes after the transformation after 1989. The author also presents a comparative analysis of the results of research on the quality of management information in the Polish police in 2002 and 2016. The analysis presented indicates that the Polish police still requires many changes, although many years have passed since the political transformation in 1989. The process of improving police work organisation should always be the main object of attention of the police management. Ensuring efficient and effective implementation of public tasks is one of the key problems of administration bodies, both on national and local level. The role of public institutions’ managers is to develop structure, processes, work organisation in order to fully satisfy citizens’ needs and optimise use of resources. According to the author, it is necessary to combine tactical tasks with police strategy. Organizational structures require constant development and more flexible solutions should be adopted. It seems that it is necessary, as in previous years, to establish a team which will prepare an analysis of the functioning of the Police organisation in a holistic way and indicate the directions of its improvement.

Information management is of great importance to an organization. The quality and quantity of information influence the decision-making conditions, and with the increase in their value, the risk of failure and the uncertainty of undesirable effects are reduced. To a large extent, the accuracy of the decisions made depends on the quality of information held by the recipient. For the proper functioning of the organization, it is essential that the information acquired, processed, developed and circulated is of appropriate quality, i.e. it has a set of characteristics that determine the usefulness of information defined by the users. The article emphasizes that it is the effectiveness of the organization’s information system on which it depends to whom, in what form and on what level the information of the desired quality will be provided. Moreover, it was pointed out that it is necessary to systematically examine the information needs of the organization in order to meet the users’ expectations and the need for the organization to have the capacity to systematically reject useless information, information overload, and information selection.

The article presents information quality evaluation methodology for websites directories. In the first part of the article the theoretical basis for website directories was presented (ways of information acquisition, classification and issues relating to quality of websites). The second part of the article was devoted to the research methodology for evaluating quality of information collected in website directories. The identification of quality characteristics carried out shall allow for evaluating quality of general information and of information in thematic directories on web pages. The article ends with a summary containing conclusions and guidelines for further research directions.

Artykuł prezentuje ocenę jakości informacji w wybranych polskich katalogach stron WWW. W pierwszej części artykułu zaprezentowano charakterystykę, klasyfikację i ranking popularności katalogów stron. Następnie przedstawiono metodykę badania oceny jakości informacji w katalogach stron WWW. Do pomiaru jakości informacji zaproponowano kwestionariusz ankietowy. W drugiej części artykułu przedstawiono wyniki ewaluacji jakości informacji w wybranych katalogach stron WWW. Należy podkreślić, że wyniki badań są ograniczone ze względu na niewielką reprezentatywność próby. Artykuł kończy podsumowanie zawierające wnioski oraz wskazówki dotyczące dalszych kierunków badań.
The article presents information quality evaluation in the selected polish web page directories. In the first part of the paper present: characteristics, classification and popularity ranking web page directories. Subsequently was shown the methodology of information quality assessment in the web page directories. To measure the information quality was proposed survey questionnaire. In the second part of the article presents the results of evaluating the quality of information in the selected directories. It should be emphasized that the results are limited due to the small representativeness of the sample. The article ends with a summary containing conclusions and guidelines for further research directions.

Obszar informacji medycznej należy do jednej z najbardziej eksplorowanych sfer poszukiwań informacji dokonywanych przez obywateli w sieci Web. Celem opracowania jest przedstawienie wyników pilotażowego badania dotyczącego oceny jakości informacji zdrowotnej w serwisach WWW. Badania dowiodły, że większość z badanych stron wykazała niską jakość informacji dotyczących zdrowia. Należy podkreślić, że wyniki badań są ograniczone ze względu na reprezentatywność próby.
The Internet is used as a tool for finding health information. The aim of this article is present the results of a pilot study on evaluation of the quality health information on Web sites. Studies have proven that the majority of the tested sites revealed poor quality of health information.It should be emphasized that the results are restricted due to limited representativeness of the sample.

The quality dimensions of an information system, such as system, information, and service qualities, play a crucial role in determining the overall performance of an organization. These quality dimensions are significant as they can impact employee outcomes, which are key factors in determining whether an organization is able to achieve a competitive advantage in the market. The aim of this study is to explore the impact of quality dimensions on employee outcomes such as learning ability, adaptability, and job satisfaction. The research was conducted by distributing a structured survey questionnaire to 300 employees of 8 commercial banks at different management levels. The measurement and structural models were analyzed using Smart PLS. This study employed descriptive analysis to present a comprehensive demographic profile of both the organizations and the participants. Out of the nine hypotheses tested, seven were found to be significant. The findings of this study show that while all three quality dimensions (system, information, and service) of information systems positively affect employee learning, only system and information qualities positively affect employee learning, and as for job satisfaction, only system and service qualities play an important role. Therefore, implementing suitable information systems to improve employee outcomes in an organization, especially a financial organization, is paramount in this information age. This research contributes to understanding information systems, their implementation, and employee outcomes in an organization.

The aim of the study is to present a model of measuring the quality of market information as a second-order factor model. To receive this model the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was used. The rationale for creating the second-order model was high correlation of the four originally assumed factors in the first-order measuremment model as well as substantive reasons. The first-order factors under consideration were reliability, completeness, relevance, and timeliness of information. The study used orginal data of new product projects in which we measured reliability, completeness, usefulness and timeliness of the information available in the new product development. The sample was randomly selected from the national population of high and medium-high technology firms, employing more than 49 people. We received a second-order general factor – quality of the information – that explained the high correlation among the four first-order factors. The resulting model had an acceptable level of data fit and relevant and high factor loadings for both, first and second order models.

For the effective use of the acquired or existing information system (IS) at the enterprise it is necessary to solve the problems relatedto an assessment of the IS quality. The information system is represented as a set of the functional components therefore it is necessary at first to evaluate quality of each of the components, and then get an integral assessment of the entire system. Quite tricky in the processes of IS quality assessment is the ambiguity of existing methods of formation the set of IT-indicators, most adequately characterizing the current state of functioning of the IS. It is necessary to define quantity and the list of IT-indicators (representative selection) which can be used to evaluate the quality of information systems in the enterprise to ensure the accuracy and veracity of quality assessment of IS. For formation of such selection it is offered to use an expert method. Expert's task is to select the criteria for the assessment quality of IS components, the formation of a representative selection of its indicators that best describe the real state of the information system at the enterprise, establishment of weights for IT-indicators, i.e. the importance of each IT-indicator to assess the quality of entire IS. The implementation of such actions, taking into account the recommendations of existing standards and using the method hierarchies’ analysis, are considered.

Much research has been aimed at resolving such issues as the quality of financial reporting and harmonization of report preparation methodology. In this regard, the objective is to identify a number of problems in the accounting system of the Republic of Moldova, which reduce the usefulness of small business financial reports, and develop practical recommendations to improve the quality of the financial reporting information content. The research has been conducted using both the general scientific and special methods, i.e., system approach, comparison and content analysis, synthesis, modeling. The main methods, on the basis of which the research algorithm has been constructed, entail content analysis and comparison. A conceptual analysis of the accounting and reporting system’s regulatory provisions and legal framework has been carried out; individual accounting methodology terms have been conceptually interpreted; a conceptual assessment ‘Changes in Equity Statement’ information perimeter and its usefulness has been conducted. The research is of scientific significance in terms of improving the conceptual apparatus and determining the development prospects for the national accounting system. The proposed changes in the regulatory and legal framework of the RM accounting system, as well as the recommended reconstruction of the Changes in Equity Statement are of practical importance. The study show a perspective on eliminating the ambiguity and paralogism in the conceptual apparatus of the national accounting system. It also presents a viewpoint on the modeling of financial reporting and the formation of optimal parameters for the quality and informativeness thereof.

Changes in the media landscape confront teachers with a number of challenges. One of them is to reach high quality information in a flood of information of today. Education must be based on current knowledge and the transmission of this knowledge is the task of teacher. His knowledge, however, is built from information from various sources. Article proposes a set of criteria that should be used to determine the quality of information.

Opis:
The consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic on the quality and scope of financial information prepared by accounting are complex. The scope of the financial statement and the obligation to audit depend on the classification of units based on their size. The required scope is narrower for micro and small entities than it is for larger organizations. The crisis may have influenced the size of entities and by that their classification and the scope of information that they need to disclose. The goal of this article is to verify whether post-pandemic demands for information, assuming it will be the same as pre-pandemic, can be fulfilled. The accessibility of information is connected with the level of security of engaging in business activities. Making changes in the criteria of an entity’s inclusion as an SME and in its obligation to audit can be one solution for the problem of insufficient information. The methodology used in this study is analysis of regulations and deductive reasoning. It showed that the effects of the pandemic, particularly the increase in the number of micro and small entities, can limit the accessibility of information. This article contributes to the scientific literature by displaying and justifying the need to verify the classification criteria of businesses and other entities.
Konsekwencje pandemii wirusa Covid-19 dla jakości i zakresu informacji finansowej generowanej przez rachunkowość są złożone. Zakres sprawozdania finansowego oraz obowiązek badania zależą od klasyfikacji jednostek dokonywanej ze względu na ich wielkość. Zakres ten jest węższy dla jednostek małych i mikro. Kryzys może wpłynąć na wielkość podmiotów, a tym samym na ich miejsce w tej klasyfikacji i zakres ujawnianych przez nie informacji. Celem jest wstępna weryfikacja tego czy - jeśli po pandemii nadal będzie takie zapotrzebowanie na informacje jak dawniej, zostanie ono zaspokojone. Dostęp do informacji wiąże się z poziomem bezpieczeństwa prowadzenia działalności gospodarczej. Rozwiązaniem problemu braku wystarczającej informacji może być wprowadzenie zmian w kryteriach zaliczania podmiotów do MSP oraz w obowiązku badania sprawozdań finansowych. Zastosowana metodologia to analiza regulacji i wnioskowanie. Pozwoliła ona stwierdzić, że skutki pandemii w postaci rosnącej liczby jednostek mikro i małych mogą ograniczyć dostęp do informacji. Wartością dodaną artykułu jest wskazanie i uzasadnienie potrzeby weryfikacji kryteriów klasyfikacji jednostek.

Opis:
The aim of the paper is to reconstruct the category of “information quality” and to attempt answering the question: how are employee’s attitudes towards organisational change related to the quality of information concerning that process in the context of enterprises’ competitiveness? The secondary data analysis method – covering theoretical literature and numerous empirical studies results – is applied to attain the above-mentioned research aims. The results of conducted analysis are presented in the following order. Firstly, the category of ‘information quality’ is conceptualised, the factors which influence the information quality are identified and the authors’ scheme for analysing the information quality is proposed. Secondly, the view on employees’ attitudes towards organisational change is presented. Thirdly, the conditions of the information transmission in the organisational change process are analysed. Further, conceptual remarks on the influence of information quality on attitudes towards organisational change are presented on the background of previous research results. Since the idea of incorporating the concept of information quality in the theoretical considerations and empirical models in the area of research on attitudes towards organisational change seems to be promising, the authors propose the directions of further research in the final part of the paper.
