Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie znaczenia wybranych determinantów w kształtowaniu jakości cyfrowej usługi pocztowej. Pierwsza część opracowania zawiera teoretyczne ramy zarządzania jakością usług, charakterystykę rynku pocztowego oraz przybliżenie cyfrowych usług pocztowych. Następnie, przedstawione zostały wyniki anonimowej ankiety konsumenckiej, przeprowadzonej na grupie pięćdziesięciu klientów korzystających z cyfrowych usług pocztowych, które przyczyniły się do sformułowania wniosków z zakresu znaczenia poszczególnych determinantów jakości cyfrowej usługi pocztowej.
The objective of the article is to present the meaning of the chosen determinants in shaping digital postal service quality. The first part contains the theoretical framework of service quality management, the characteristics of postal market and digital postal services. Afterwards, the results of empirical research have been presented. Anonymous survey, regarding the evaluation of digital postal service quality determinants, has been conducted among fifty customers using digital postal services. The results contributed to the formulations of conclusions on the validity of chosen determinants of the digital postal service quality.

The quality of financial information is becoming increasingly important in modern day economics. Accounting systems used in businesses are imperative to acquire financial information, but the quality of data gained through these systems is subject to multiple factors. Research suggests that these factors can be linked to the size of the reporting businesses, as well as other, broader conditions: macroeconomic, cultural, institutional, and legal factors. This study focuses on the financial data quality and its correlation between using the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as well as other business determinants.
Jakość informacji we współczesnej gospodarce nabiera coraz większego znaczenia. Jednymi z istotniejszych jej źródeł są systemy rachunkowości dostarczające informacji finansowej, której jakość zależy od wielu czynników. Badania naukowe wskazują na istnienie wielu determinant zarówno po stronie wielkości sprawozdawczych przedsiębiorstw, jak i po stronie cech charakterystycznych czy uwarunkowań makroekonomicznych, kulturowych oraz instytucjonalnych i prawnych. W pracy autor skupił się na wynikach badań wpływu stosowania MSR/MSFF oraz wykazaniu potencjalnych innych czynników, determinujących jakość informacji finansowej prezentowanej przez przedsiębiorstwa.

Opis:
Quality of life is an assessment of well-being, a sense of happiness and life satisfaction. Persons with disabilities, due to their state of health and physical condition, are characterized by a lower quality of life than non-disabled people. Many factors affect the level of life quality, including socio-economic and legal regulations. This article presents the situation of disabled people in selected European countries, with particular emphasis on the legal regulations relating to people with disabilities. It can be concluded that German and Norwegian legislation is more favorable to the disabled than Polish one.
Jakość życia to ocena odczuwanego dobrostanu, poczuciu szczęścia i zadowolenia z życia. Osoby z niepełnosprawnością, ze względu na stan swojego zdrowia i kondycji fizycznej, odróżniają się niższą jakością życia od osób pełnosprawnych. Na poziom jakości życia wpływa szereg czynników, w tym społeczno-ekonomiczne oraz uregulowania prawne. Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia sytuację osób niepełnosprawnych w wybranych krajach Europy, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem uregulowań prawnych odnoszących się do osób niepełnosprawnych. Na podstawie przeprowadzonej analizy można stwierdzić, że ustawodawstwo niemieckie i norweskie jest bardziej przychylne niepełnosprawnym niż polskie.

The paper deals with the most essential trends and types of changes in the last three editions (2001–2005–2009) of BC/IMSBC Code concerning the shipment of specific group of loads such as solid bulk cargoes. Since the general trend of changes in the content layout has been proved advantageous due to its standardized information in relation to all types of hazardous cargoes (A, B, C groups), its continuation aimed at facilitating the use of the Code in shipping operation is justified. Examples of detailed as well as extended information concerning technological shipping quality determinants of solid bulk cargoes enabling a better choice of appropriate technology of marine transport have been presented. The essence of information relationships resulting from the knowledge of particular quality determinants with the possibility of their practical technological application has been pointed out.
W artykule przedstawiono najważniejsze kierunki i rodzaje zmian w trzech ostatnich wydaniach Kodeksu BC/IMSBC (2001–2005–2009), dotyczącego przewozu morskiego bardzo specyficznej grupy ładunków, mianowicie stałych ładunków masowych. Stwierdzono, że przy generalnie korzystnym kierunku zmian co do układu treści, ujednolicającym formę przekazu informacyjnego w odniesieniu do wszystkich ładunków, tj. stwarzających różnorodne zagrożenia (grupy A, B i C), uzasadnione jest ich kontynuowanie, celem ułatwienia wykorzystania Kodeksu w praktyce transportowej. Podano przykłady uszczegółowień i rozbudowy informacji w zakresie determinantów jakości technologiczno-transportowej ładunków sypkich przewożonych luzem, pozwalających na zwiększenie stopnia zapewnienia wyboru i zastosowania prawidłowych technologii przewozu morskiego. Wykazano istotę powiązań informacyjnych, wynikających ze znajomości określonych determinantów jakości z możliwością ich praktycznego, technologicznego wykorzystania.

Opis:
The life quality results from the degree of needs satisfaction, what comes among other from goods and services consumption. The aim of the work is to widespread the outcomes from author’s research attempting to find the determinants of the life quality, using more advanced statistical methods. These methods, on the base of individual distributions and at assumption that ordinal scale is treated as a ratio scale, may widen the analyses of sources conditioning the life quality. With various degree of details, there were presented the results of the life quality statistical modelling. Particular emphasis on usefulness of logit regression model and the use of cumulative probability was applied. Statistical data were drawn from realization of three research projects funded by National Science Centre in 2011-2015.
Jakość życia jest rezultatem stopnia zaspokojenia potrzeb co wynika m.in. z konsumpcji dóbr i usług. Celem pracy jest upowszechnienie wyników prób poszukiwania przez autorkę determinant jakości życia z wykorzystaniem bardziej zaawansowanych metod statystycznych, które przy np. założeniu, iż skalę porządkową potraktuje się jako ilorazową mogą poszerzyć analizę źródeł warunkujących jakość życia uzyskaną na podstawie rozkładów indywidualnych. Zaprezentowano przy różnym stopniu szczegółowości wyniki modelowania jakości życia ze szczególnym podkreśleniem użyteczności stosowania modelu regresji logitowej z użyciem prawdopodobieństwa skumulowanego. Dane statystyczne zaczerpnięto z realizacji trzech projektów badawczych finansowanych przez NCN w latach 2011-2015.

The paper has 3 objectives: (i) identify QoL determinants of Russian Students; (ii) assess their relevance for decision-making when choosing life strategies; (iii) recognize their implications for academic teaching. The research sample were students from two Russian Universities. The study employed: literature analysis;exploratory research (direct individual in-depth interviews, survey based on a self-administered, web-based questionnaire with single-answer, limited choice qualitative & quantitative questions and gradings based on the Likert-type scale); explanatory research (informal moderated group discussions). The research findings show the relatively high significance of finance, career,stability, family, free time and other non-material QoL determinants. Research analysis reveals an inconsistency between respondents’ expectationsand their work-life balance, which imposes a question about decision-makingcriteria at an early stage of career planning and the role of tertiary educationin this process. Implications & Recommendations: (i) multicriteri decision-making processes, such as career planning, should comprise worklife balance; therefore both material and non-material QoL determinants should be incorporated into the analysis; (ii) as the role of Universities, beside educating, is also to guide and shape characters, Academia seems to be the right place for this task; (iii) therefore Universities should promote conscious lecturers as assistants to the process of identification of individual QoL determinants by their students. Contribution & Value Added: the research provides a fresh and improved perspective on quality of life and its determinants; it includes non-material QoL components and therefore brings qualitative determinants into economic research; it will provide data future comparisons; it comes from a research network linking European and Russian tertiary education institutions and University lecturers with intercultural teaching experience.

The public opinion survey conducted by CBOS (Public Opinion Research Center) on a representative nationwide sample of adult Poles (N=1,024) in February 2004 has included a set of questions developed in order to to reconstruct various dmensions of respondents’ attitudes towards public opinion polls (e.g. anonymity, confidentiality, role of opinion polling in a democratic society, uses and abuses of public opinion polls, etc.). The aim was to verify the hypothesis that people who are better educated, more engaged in politics and already have some survey experience tend to define the interview situation in amore accurate and more positive way than those who are less educated, less involved in politics and having no survey experience at all. Thus, education, political participation and survey experience were supposed to be the main factors determining positive attitudes towards the interview, consequently leading to more accurate cognitive processes, lower tendency for satisficing and better quality of answers. Factor analysis (to distinguish patterns of defining public opinion polls) and regression analysis (to verify the hypotheses) were applied in the analysis of findings

Sprawozdanie finansowe dostarcza interesariuszom szereg informacji o jednostce – do najważniejszych z nich należy właściwy pomiar i prezentacja rezultatów działalności przedsiębiorstwa wyrażane w postaci wyniku finansowego. Występowanie – zgodnie z obowiązującymi regulacjami prawnymi – możliwości dokonywania alternatywnych i subiektywnych wyborów powoduje, że ustalane wyniki mogą mieć różną wartość informacyjną. Na jakość tych informacji duży wpływ ma także wykorzystywanie przez rachunkowość szacunków i subiektywnych ocen. W artykule opisano cechy jakościowe informacji finansowej, wskazując na tym tle główne czynniki determinujące jakość wyniku finansowego przedsiębiorstwa: rezerwy oraz odpisy aktualizujące z tytułu utraty wartości aktywów.
Financial statements provide stakeholders with a range of information about the company. The most important of them are the correct measurement and presentation of the results of the company's activities expressed as financial results. In accordance with the law regulations exists the possibility of making alternative choices and subjective causes that determined the results. They may have a different value of the information. The quality of this information is highly influenced by the use of accounting estimates and judgments. The article describes the qualitative characteristics of financial information, indicating the main factors determining the quality of the financial result of the company as provisions and write-downs for impairment of assets.

The relationship between quality of worklife (QWL) and particular work aspects has been heavily re-searched over the years. Despite this continuous interest, there is no commonly recognized list of determinants of QWL that has been accepted by the majority of researchers. This study tests ten major job factors, and their relationship with worklife quality is presented and discussed. The results are based on quantitative data that was collected via questionnaire. This type of analysis has not previously been conducted in Poland in the public sector. The results, based on a regional probability sample of office workers, help to define the determinants of quality of worklife in local government institutions. The results indicate a relatively strong relationship between four of the ten described job aspects and QWL. The paper contains a list of conditions that are conducive to the development of QWL in local government, as well as institutional recommendations.

Celem artykułu była identyfikacja i analiza zależności pomiędzy jakością pracy a jakością życia. Przedstawiono istotę i sens jakości pracy. Następnie zaprezentowano sposób ujmowania jakości życia. Dokonano analizy zależności występujących między jakością pracy a jakością życia. Stwierdzono, iż jakość pracy jest istotną determinantą jakości życia społeczeństwa. Ponadto zaprezentowano odczucia pracowników branży tartacznej co do jakości ich życia w odniesieniu do jakości pracy.
The aim of the article was to identify and analyze the correlation between the quality of work and quality of life. The essence and meaning of the quality of work was presented. Furthermore, the article presented how to recognize the quality of life. An analysis was based on correlation between the quality of work and the quality of life. It was stated that the quality of work is an important determinant of the quality of life of society. Moreover, the article presented sawmilling industry employees feeling about the quality of their lives in relation to the quality of work.

Objectives The Health Impact Assessment (HIA) was conducted to evaluate the potential community health implications of a proposed oil drilling and production project in Hermosa Beach, California. The HIA considered 17 determinants of health that fell under 6 major categories (i.e., air quality, water and soil quality, upset conditions, noise and light emissions, traffic, and community livability). Material and Methods This paper attempts to address some of the gaps within the HIA practice by presenting the methodological approach and results of this transparent, comprehensive HIA; specifically, the evaluation matrix and decision-making framework that have been developed for this HIA and form the basis of the evaluation and allow for a clear conclusion to be reached in respect of any given health determinant (i.e., positive, negative, neutral). Results There is a number of aspects of the project that may positively influence health (e.g., increased education funding, ability to enhance green space), and at the same time there have been potential negative effects identified (e.g., odor, blowouts, property values). Except for upset conditions, the negative health outcomes have been largely nuisance-related (e.g., odor, aesthetics) without irreversible health impacts. The majority of the health determinants, that had been examined, have revealed that the project would have no substantial effect on the health of the community. Conclusions Using the newly developed methodology and based on established mitigation measures and additional recommendations provided in the HIA, the authors have concluded that the project will have no substantial effect on community health. This approach and methodology will assist practitioners, stakeholders and decision-makers in advancing the HIA as a useful, reproducible, and informative tool.
