    Opis:
    Qualitative formalisms, suited to express qualitative temporal or spatial relationships between entities, have gained wide acceptance as a useful way of abstracting from the real world. The question remains how to describe spatio-temporal concepts, such as the interaction between disconnected moving objects, adequately within a qualitative calculus and more specifically how to use this in geographical information systems. In this paper, the Basic Qualitative Trajectory Calculus (QTCB) for representing and reasoning about moving objects is presented. QTCB enables comparisons between positions of objects at different time points ro be made. The calculus is based on few primitives (i.e., distance and speed constraints), making it elegant and theoretically simple. To clarify the way in which trajectories are represented within QTCB: specific cases of movements (e.g. circular movement) are presented. To illustrate the naturalness of QTC, a "predator-prey" example is studied.

    The aim of the article is to examine possibilities of using the experience of the qualitative social research in developing more complex interpretation methods of participatory projects in theatre and performance art. Departing from the classical essay On Ethnographic Authority by James Clifford which traces different strategies that researchers use to represent the field reality in their writing, the author introduces the qualitative research trend and its reflexion. The author refers to different ways of how qualitative researchers argue with the traditional hegemony of the scientific text, its isolation from the field and from the community being researched, and the way it creates the hierarchy between them and the researcher. Such strategies from qualitative methodologies, such as grounded theory, triangulation of methods and points of views, attempts to share control on the research process with the local participants and to include polyphony in the texts are presented as inspiring for the analysis of participatory practices. The author compares the lesson learnt from qualitative research with the theses of Claire Bishop in her well-known book Artificial Hells: Participatory Art and the Politics of Spectatorship. According to the author, the perspective of qualitative research can be interpreted as a new attempt at thinking about social and artistic, ethic and aesthetic dimensions of the participatory projects, which is a crucial issue for Bishop.

    Symphony of the Ursus Factory
    Opis:
    The text is a proposal to analyse the film Symphony of the Ursus Factory from three different perspectives: performance studies, qualitative research, and participatory art. Departing from a quote by the director, Jaśmina Wójcik, where she reminisces about her first encounters with the former employees of the factory, the author focuses on the issue of embodied knowledge. Through discussing different moments of the film and its visual and audial strategy, the author also shows how theatricality mixes with documentality in the production. The author also refers to different events and activities from the nine-year-long Factory Ursus Project to show it as a long-term process grounded on different modes of participation and collaboration, without which the movie could not have been possible and which legitimates its artistic form.

    Opis:
    The following research studies the use of memes on the social platform Twitter with regards to celebrity representation. Specifically, it analyzes two memetic posts by Elon Musk and the representation tactics behind them, using elements of multimodal analysis and critical discourse analysis. Subsequently, the study looks at the reception of these posts via comparative content analysis with custom classification to determine how successful the tactics behind these posts are and whether there is any evidence observable in the reception regarding censorship on Twitter after its purchase by Elon Musk. The comparative study comes in a form of quantitative analysis of the first 150 responses to each of the two posts. The study does not only demonstrate instances of attempts at diminishing the distance which the inherent power of a celebrity personage on social media creates, but also how successful these attempts are and whether they manage to distract the audience from the personage in question and their power over them.
    Poniższa analiza skupia się na badaniu wykorzystania memów na platformie społecznościowej Twitter w kształtowaniu wizerunków celebrytów. Analizie poddano w szczególności dwa posty z memami Elona Muska i stojącą za nimi strategię przedstawiania wizerunku, korzystając elementów analizy multimedialnej i krytycznej analizy dyskursu. W kolejnym kroku artykuł skupia się na odbiorze tych postów, stosując analizę porównawczą treści za pomocą specjalnie dobranego zestawu kryteriów, w celu oceny skuteczności strategii stojącej za analizowanymi postami i stopnia prawdopodobieństwa istnienia cenzury na Twitterze po jego zakupie przez Elona Muska. Badanie porównawcze ma formę analizy treści 150 pierwszych odpowiedzi na każdy z dwóch postów. Badanie pokazuje nie tylko przykłady prób zmniejszenia dystansu, który jest naturalny w relacjach z celebrytą w mediach społecznościowych, ale także to, na ile skuteczne są te próby i czy pozwalają na odwrócenie uwagi odbiorców od danej postaci i jej oddziaływania na użytkowników.
