    Opis:
    The present paper describes the process of determining deformation and displacement of fresh steam pipeline to a boiler. Subject of the measurements was the pipeline located on several stores. Therefore, particular attention was drawn to determining the location of the test points of the pipeline and difficulties involved proper selection of the reference system and height system.
    W artykule omówiono proces wyznaczania odkształceń i przemieszczeń rurociągu pary świeżej kotła parowego. Przedmiotem pomiaru był rurociąg zlokalizowany na kilku kondygnacjach. W związku z tym szczególną uwagę zwrócono na określenie położenia punktów kontrolnych oraz właściwy dobór układu odniesienia i osnowy geodezyjnej.

    Podsumowano perspektywy immunoterapii w raku płuca. Wobec dotychczasowej niskiej skuteczności leczenia konwencjonalnego, wciąż poszukiwane są nowe, obiecujące narzędzia terapeutyczne. W raku płuca stosuje się immunoterapię zarówno bierną, jak i adaptatywną. W skrócie, założeniem tej strategii jest powstrzymanie ucieczki raka spod nadzoru immunologicznego, co wiąże się z mechanizmami immunoedycji przez nowotwory. W tym miejscu szczególną uwagę zwrócono na przeciwciała monoklonalne zastosowane w raku płuca, zazwyczaj jako leczenie adiuwantowe w zaawansowanych stadiach choroby. Ich celami są w pierwszej kolejności punkty kontrolne układu odpornościowego, tj. cząsteczki CTLA-4 oraz PD-1/PD-L1. Opisano wstępne wyniki badań klinicznych z użyciem takich przeciwciał monoklonalnych jak ipilimumab, nivolumab, pembrolizumab, atezolizumab, durvalumab, avelumab, cetuximab, necitumumab i nimotuzumab.
    Perspectives of immunotherapy in lung cancer were summarized. Due to the low effi cacy of conventional treatment, there is an increasing need to introduce new, promising therapeutical tools in disease management. Adaptive and passive immunotherapy are both used in lung cancer. In brief, the rationale of this strategy is to oppose the carcinoma immune escape mechanisms associated with tumour immunoediting. Herein, the attention was focused on monoclonal antibodies currently applied in lung cancer, usually as adjuvant therapy in advanced stages of the disease. Their targets are preferentially the immune check-points, i.e. CTLA-4, as well as PD-1/PD-L1 molecules. The preliminary results of clinical trials with the use of monoclonal antibodies such as ipilimumab, nivolumab, pembrolizumab, atezolizumab, durvalumab, avelumab, cetuximab, necitumumab and nimotuzumab were described.

    Opis:
    W pracy omówiono dwie metody estymacji niepewności kilku wartości funkcji opisującej badaną charakterystykę na podstawie pomiarów w punktach kontrolnych. Metoda I, nazwana deterministyczną, wykorzystuje w interpolacji niepewności typu B w tych punktach korzystając z liniowej aproksymacji przebiegu maksymalnych dopuszczalnych błędów przyrządów. Metoda II polega na statystycznej estymacji niepewności dla wartości funkcji jako liniowej kombinacji wyników pomiarów w punktach kontrolnych. Do wyznaczenia niepewności użyto macierzowego równania propagacji wariancji w pośrednich pomiarach wieloparametrowych, podanego w Suplemencie 2 do Przewodnika GUM. Jest to rozszerzenie zastosowania tego Suplementu. Dla dwu interpolowanych wartości porównano wyniki estymacji niepewności względnych i bezwzględnych oraz ich sumy i różnicy otrzymane obiema metodami. Do interpolacji badanej funkcji w całym zakresie podano zasadę minimalizacji liczby kontrolnych punktów pomiarowych. Obie metody można stosować w wielu obszarach współczesnej metrologii.
    The paper discusses two methods of interpolation and extrapolation of the uncertainty of a values of the tested function, based on measurements in several its points. The first of these is the deterministic method based on a linear approximation of the uncertainty function without considering the correlation of its interpolated values. The second statistical method consists in the statistical estimation of uncertainty for any values of the function under test as a linear combination of the measurement result parameters at several control points. To determine the uncertainty, a matrix equation for the propagation of variances of indirectly measured multivariable measurand, was used. This is an extension of the scope of application of Supplement 2 to the GUM guide. The relative and absolute uncertainties of values of linear function are interpolated by both methods and their sum and difference were compared. Interpolations in the whole range of the examined function were proposed and the procedure of minimizing the number of measuring points was presented. Both methods can be useful in all areas of modern metrology applications.

    Opis:
    Omówiono szacowanie niepewności punktów funkcji opisującej badaną charakterystykę na podstawie wyników pomiarów w dwu punktach kontrolnych. Zastosowano dwie metody I i II. Metodą I estymuje się składowe niepewności typu B na podstawie wartości dopuszczalnych maksymalnych błędów aparatury stosowanej do pomiarów w punktach kontrolowanych tej charakterystyki. Przy stabilnych warunkach pomiaru kilku wartości i pomijalnej niepewności typu A, należy dla wyników przyjąć współczynnik korelacji równy 1. Metodą statystyczną II, na podstawie pomiarów w punktach kontrolnych estymuje się składowe niepewności typu A oraz niepewności złożone dla punktów badanej funkcji i korelację pomiędzy ich wynikami. Korzysta z równania wiążącego macierze kowariancji w pomiarach pośrednich wieloparametrowych wg Suplementu 2 Przewodnika GUM. Wyznaczono też niepewności względne i bezwzględne dla sumy i różnicy wartości dwu punktów i podano przykłady obliczeń. Przy ograniczonej liczbie i czasie wykonywania pomiarów, metodą tą można wyznaczaniu niepewności funkcji opisującej badaną charakterystykę i wykorzystać ja w monitoringu, kontroli i diagnostyce różnych obiektów.
    The estimation of the uncertainty of points of the function describing the tested characteristics based on measurement results at two control points is discussed. Two methods were used. By method I, the type B uncertainty component is estimated from the permissible values of the maximum error of the apparatus used for measurements at the controlled points of this tested characteristic. With stable measurement conditions and negligible uncertainty of type A of measurements, a correlation coefficient equal to 1 should be assumed for results of several points measured by the same insturment. The method II is statistical It is based on measurement data at control points and is used for estimation of type A and combined uncertainties of the function values of the points being tested. Correlation coefficient between their results are also estimated. Used for that is the equation binding the covariance matrices in indirect multiparameter measurements according to the Supplement 2 of the GUM Guide. Relative and absolute uncertainties for the sum and difference of values of two points were also determined and few examples of calculations were given. With a limited number and duration of measurements, this method can be used in the monitoring, automatic control and diagnosis of various objects.

    Opis:
    The architectural and urban features of the existing system of automobile check points (ACP) on the Ukrainian-Polish transboundary territories have been revealed due to rethinking of European examples in this field and possibilities of practical application of this experience for Ukraine. New structural models of ACP, which take into consideration the differentiation of spaces for various transit traffics, have been proposed. The model of the customs-transport complex crossing point and its typological features have been formulated.
    Artykuł opisuje cechy architektoniczne i urbanistyczne istniejącego systemu samochodowego punktu kontrolnego (SPK) na ukraińsko-polskich terytoriach transgranicznych. Dokonano analizy europejskich i światowych przykładów podobnych rozwiązań oraz zaproponowano możliwość praktycznego zastosowania tego doświadczenia na Ukrainie. Opisano nowe modele strukturalne SPK, konieczność zróżnicowania przestrzeni dla różnych tranzytow. Sformułowano model skrzyżowania kompleksu celno-transportowego i jego cechy typologiczne.

    Opis:
    The civilization diseases of the 21st century are non-infectious disorders, affecting a large part of modern society. They are associated with the significant development of industry and technology, and hence with environmental pollution and an unhealthy lifestyle. These factors have led to the development of many civilization diseases, which currently include: cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, diabetes, obesity, malignant tumors, gastrointestinal diseases, mental disorders and allergic diseases. The development of technologies, including modern therapies and new drugs, resulted in increase in life expectancy. This creates a global problem of an aging population with an increasing number of diseases of the old age, i.e. dementias. In addition, sedentary lifestyles and changing diets are the reasons why more and more people develop metabolic diseases, as well as neurological and cognitive disorders characterized by progressive damage to nerve cells and dementia. Currently, problem on a global scale is also the growing resistance to existing antimicrobial drugs. Therefore, the scientists face many challenges related to searching for the causes of these diseases, their diagnosis and treatment. Scientific research conducted at the Department of Biomedical Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Gdańsk is part of this research trend. In this publication, we discuss various research topics with the long-term aim of solving the problems associated with the diseases mentioned above. The following chapters are dedicated to (i) looking for new effective fluorophores with diagnostic and anti-cancer activity; (ii) designing of new compounds with antibacterial and antiviral activity and their synthesis; (iii) investigating the mechanisms of amyloid deposit formation by human cystatin C and possibilities of inhibition of this process; (iv) designing and studies of compounds activating the proteasome with the potential to suppress the development of neurodegenerative diseases; (v) designing peptide fibrils and hydrogels as drug carriers; (vi) searching for peptide inhibitors of immune checkpoint as potential drugs for immunotherapy; (vii) studying the mechanism of action of selected herpesviruses by determining the structure of viral proteins and (viii) studying the composition of natural glycans and glycoconjugates in order to better understand the mechanisms of interaction of bacteria with the environment or with the host.
