Opis:
It would not be much of an exaggeration to say that the notion of ecological and social embeddedness is one of the most exploited philosophical ideas these days, both in the academia and beyond. The most troublesome about the overall trend is that many proponents of the idea of social embeddedness simplistically consider selfhood as a form of aberration which merely provides vindication for inequality and violence. In this paper, instead of attacking the problem of the individual versus the collective head-on, I approach it by way of a critique of Stephen Turner’s repudiation of transcendental collectivism (Turner, 1994; Turner, 2010). According to Turner, transcendental entities, such as tacit knowledge, presuppositions, or traditions, should be altogether removed from explanatory schemata in the social sciences. I believe that Turner’s razor cuts too deep and the rejection of implicit framing is at best premature. Against the background of the identified shortcomings of Turner’s model of interactive learning, I track the interrelations between social development and the development of the self with an eye to showing that the relationship between individual selves and social reality is an extremely complex and multifactorial matter which we cannot hope to navigate without a proper transcendental frame. The frame is what mediates the relationship between the individual and the collective.

Opis:
The paper summarizes the discussion on continuing education in psychological assessment to which the lead article by Filipiak et al., published in Roczniki Psychologiczne (18(2015), No 2, 171-183 pp.), was an invitation. The issues discussed concern the definition of assessment as a service vs. competency, the placement of formal regulations on education at the Polish vs. European level, the contents of education, and the organization of education in the broader context of the psychologist’s professional role, as well as the problem of education in assessment, not only for psychologists. Presenting their stance on the issues discussed, the authors formulate recommendations concerning: (a) systemic solutions for continuing education in psychological assessment, (b) the need to pursue research verifying the usefulness of particular forms of teaching assessment competencies, and (c) the need for promoting the culture of co-operation between practicing and academic psychologists.

Prof. Józef Kozielecki w swoich opracowaniach na temat transgresji wyróżnia jej czteryformy: transgresja: ku rzeczom, ku ludziom, ku symbolom i ku sobie. Uzasadnia też jej zastosowania praktyczne w wychowaniu i samowychowaniu, w psychoterapii, w życiu etycznym i religijnym.
The development of a man, both the biological but also mental and spiritual one is accom-plished via the impact of genetic, environmental factors, and self-activeness. It is mainly the third of the mentioned factors that determines the direction and the quality of development. However, a question arises – to what extent man can guide himself and go beyond himself, that is overcome biological conditioning and social pressure.According to Professor Józef Kozielecki’s theory, going beyond oneself, that is transgression, is possible. The Author singles out four levels of transgression: the objective one – towards things, the social one – towards people, the symbolic and religious one – towards sym-bols and the self-developmental one – towards oneself. The transgression theory has its practical applications with reference to upbringing, self-upbringing, psychotherapy, spiritual development and religious transcendence.

Opis:
Background: In Russia, there is an active ongoing process of national revival of the indigenous small-numbered peoples of the North Siberia, such as the Evenks. Revival of the younger generation, in particular, remains a priority. The state helps to solve the problems of education and adaptation of Evenk children to modern life. This is necessary because parents, hunters, and reindeer herders have a nomadic lifestyle. The educational feature of Evenk children is to study and live in a boarding school after elementary school graduation. Success of adaptation largely depends on the ability to account for the ethnopsychological specificity of Evenk children. Aim of the study: To study characteristics of the psychoemotional sphere and identify ethnospecific indicators for the adaptation of Evenk children to a boarding school. Material and methods: Pupils (N = 409) aged 10–16 from the village boarding school of Evenkia, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Russia were examined. Pupils consisted of 132 Evenk children and 277 Russian children. The emotional sphere was evaluated according to Eysenck Personality Inventory (EPI) and lateral phenotype was evaluated according to Bragina & Dobrokhotova. Results: We found that Evenk children show a predominant pattern of left laterality (p = 0.024). In addition, relative to Russian children, Evenk children are more likely to show the introverted personality type (p = 0.035). Relative to Russian children, Evenk children are more restrained in their emotional manifestations, have greater difficulty in communicating with strangers, answer with monosyllables, and show a less vivid emotional reaction to praise. Further, relative to Russian children, Evenk children are more likely to show a high level of emotional stability (i.e., 9–10 points; p = 0.001). Conclusions: The present study examined the psychoemotional characteristics of Evenk children. We identified ethnospecific indicators, including an introversion personality type combined with emotional stability and left laterality. Identification of these characteristics allowed us to form a risk group of children in adaptation. Ethnospecific indicators of the psycho-emotional sphere should be considered for effective management of the adaptation of children in a boarding school.

The literature on the subject emphasizes that the proposed overall approach to the problem of innovation should include integration of knowledge of the psychological sciences which deal with supporting individual and group innovative competences of the employees with management sciences. The article presents organizational and psychological conditions of innovative activity of company employees. In economic practice and most reference books innovation is mainly connected with the technological process and new products and the role of people and their possibilities, limitations, or other factors of psychological character are underestimated. It describes the subjective prerequisite conditions for the employees’ innovative behavior.

Unemployment in Poland s one of the main factors causing problems in the process of upbringing. It is also the main reason for constant growth of poverty and process of marginalization of many families in Polish society. Family is a basic and irreplaceable environment for a child. It is not child's choice what sort of family she/he was born into, however family situation and environment started to influence a child, from very beginning. Well functioning family, where the socialization and education process are running in a healthy way, creates positive environment for physical, psychological, social and moral development of a child and successfully influence the child's school career, lack of conflict with the law and finally – gaining professional autonomy. Unemployment is conducive to increasing dysfunction in the family. This problem makes lot of families inefficient, in many respects, educational environment unable to fulfill the most basic human needs. This condition is very unfavorable for children and leads to disturbances in the development of physical, mental, social and moral.

Opis:
The purpose of the study is to determine the characteristic features of personal functioning at different stages of professional development. The survey involved 139 professionals from various fields (74 women and 65 men) aged 24 to 67 years. The sample is divided into 5 groups according to the stage of professional development. A comparative analysis of groups by parameters of professional self-realisation, emotional burnout and psychological well-being is carried out. The results obtained demonstrate the nonlinear, complex dynamics of self-realisation of the individual throughout life and clarify the internal mechanisms of professional development at each stage. The stages of primary and secondary professionalisation are accompanied by the greatest need for self-improvement and at the same time, exaggerated and unrealistic ideas about one's own professional competence. An increased symptomatology of emotional burnout has been identified, which accompanies the peak of professional excellence and determines the next stage of professional activity decline after 30 years of work experience. The coincidence of the normative age and professional crises entails a profound crisis of the pre-retirement age, which is characterised primarily by a loss of goal-setting. People who continue to work in the post-retirement age have the highest rates of self-fulfillment, which leads to overall satisfaction with life and self. The described patterns open new perspectives for the development of ways of psychological counselling and organisational support of specialists.

Opis:
The main focus of my research lies within the psychology of human development, especially in late adulthood. There are many reasons why psychologists are interested in climate change. One of the fathers of modern medicine, Hippocrates, proclaimed that the climate affects the mood (liquids) existing in the human body. I wrote an article about climate change and its relationship to the psychological functioning of people in old age. As we enter adulthood, the new generation will severely experience increasingly extreme weather events. Already this phenomenon is more frequent than several decades ago and takes a deadly toll. Heat waves will be more frequent and so the children and older people will be often exposed to that phenomenon. It may have a detrimental effect on those in the declining period of their lives. In my opinion, an important question is to what extent modern living should (in a moral sense) limit the current consumption of many goods because of the duty to care for the standard of living and its quality and the interests of people who will live in the future.

Opis:
The author combines cognitive psychology with current ideas of epistemology theory, in particular with cognitive minimalism as represented by Greek philosophers. It is done in order to focus attention on cognitive minimalism, which has dominated current trends in cognitive psychology. Simultaneously, he draws attention to the very idea of the relation of the subject with the objective reality whose effect lies in the relative and subjective psychological dimension. He does not dispute the existence and the meaning of this dimension, yet warns about the uncritical introduction of this dimension into the area of pedagogical knowledge, which is a type of teleological and axiology devaluation of this knowledge. Finally, counteracting the psychological dimension, the author proposes the acceptance of the dimension of the spiritual life by alleging Frankl`s logotheory and the biographies of people who, through their own lives, proved the existence of this spiritual dimension, where obligatory psychological rights no longer apply.

The article is the synthesis of a critical literature review, whose aim was to define how the conditions for the development of autonomy and self-control for children of 2–3 years of age being raised in home and institution environment were examined. The review covered mainly non-serial printed publications and scientific magazines from years 2000–2014 which are on the lists of magazines recognised by MNiSW and in the bases of Ebsco and National Library. In this article six tools were presented: one – made in Poland and five of the US origin. Theoretical assumptions, on which they were built, were characterised, as well as the examined dimensions, exemplary indications and psychometric values of scales. What was presented, were such dimensions and indices which can be used to diagnose the conditions of the development of autonomy and self-control created for children by adults. The theoretical basis for this analysis and interpretation is social development psychology and social environment psychology.

Spirituality is one of the categories which could describe the form of a person’s inner experience determined by cultural meanings and values. The main aim of this paper is to consider some new psychological conceptions that include the spiritual dimension of a human. The author analyzes three approaches. The first one, proposed by Anna Galdowa, emphasizes spiritual development. The project of Irena Heszen focuses on the connection between spirituality and psychosomatic health. The third conception, developed by Zohar and Marshall, considers spiritual intelligence and indicates the neurological substrate of spiritualityKeywords

The article is an attempt to analyse self-efficacy as a factor positively influencing a reaction to a traumatic event. There are three possible states which occur in response to trauma: lack of adaptation, adaptation, and a post-traumatic development. Coming from the assumptions of the functional perspective of psychological defense mechanisms, the feeling of selfefficacy is seen as enabling a task-oriented approach to trauma and perceiving it not only as a danger but also as a challenge. It allows to see a bigger perspective which helps not to fixate only on the traumatic event. The article describes several directions of shaping the self-efficacy in children’s education and proposes a few practical methods of shaping the self-efficacy among children.
