    Opis:
    In the period of uniting Europe regional values gain still more importance. In process of designing green elements regional aspect is becoming vital one. Computer catalogue 'HORTUS' tries to join local environment circumstances with local producers and designers offer. It's main role is to facilitate process of selection of trees, shrubs and climbers for design works. 'HORTUS' is elaborated as text and graphical data base. Contains information about features and requirements of above 1500 plants. They are as follow: Polish name, Latin name with indication of author, synonyms, shape of crown, maximal height, design height, maximal width, design width, soil requirements - humidity, fertility, acidity, pollution resistance, favourable placement - parks, squares, road sides, Polish climate zones, colour dominating in various periods of a year, fastness of growth, transparency of crown, needed insolation, fragrance, germicidality, emaciating features, allelopatic features, diffusion of diseases, eatable and poison features, honey yield, allergic features, tractability for cutting, some added features in text way, photographs of shape in spring, summer and autumn, leafs in summer and autumn, fruits, flowers, branches or trunks, drawings of leaf and of shoot by the winter. There are added characteristic of Polish natural forest associations. This information helps with designs of natural landscape elements. Catalogue HORTUS enable automatic update of proproducers and designers offer. It is an kind of open data base enable adding new plants all the time and enable designing with maximal differentiated and accessible plant material. Photographs included could be used to prepare visualisations of design works. Version of HORTUS able to work together with AutoCAD is under work.

    The paper focused on problems of design of rural gardens and their adaptation to the needs of tourism and recreation. It presents the sources of inspiration and some ideas for arrangement. The green areas around the rural tourism facilities combine the functions of home garden and a small public garden, intended for tourists. Development of these areas increases attractiveness of place and affects the image of the facilities, also aims at maintaining the identity of the village. Owners of rural tourist enterprises are interested in animation or the focus of their offer. They should cooperate with garden designers, whose ideas are adapted to local conditions, take into account tradition of the place, style of architecture, and features of the countryside.

    Opis:
    The article focuses on the general concept of public space in the town and possibilities of arranging and furnishing the space by using the uniform Visual Identification System. The town of Malbork was the object of studies. The main assumption of undertaken work was to encourage the local community to use public space areas in the town. The aim was also to create conditions for the development of relationships, interactions between people and intensification of social links. In addition, attention was paid to improving the functionality and aesthetics of arranged urban space. Based on results of studies, the town was divided into 4 zones: historical, urban I and urban II and the park – recreation. Selecting appropriate elements of furnishings for every zone related the best to the character of the place was the next step.
    Artykuł przybliża pojęcie przestrzeni publicznej w mieście oraz możliwości jej aranżacji i wyposażenia z wykorzystaniem jednolitego system identyfikacji wizualnej miasta. Obiektem badań było miasto Malbork. Głównym założeniem podjętych prac było zachęcenie lokalnej ludności do korzystania z terenów przestrzeni publicznej w mieście. Przyjętym celem było także stworzenie warunków do kształtowania relacji międzyludzkich, wzajemnych interakcji i zacieśniania więzi społecznych. Ponadto zwrócono uwagę na poprawę funkcjonalności i wartości estetycznych zaaranżowanej przestrzeni miejskiej. Na podstawie wyników badań miasto podzielono na 4 strefy: historyczną, miejskie I i II oraz parkowo-rekreacyjną. Kolejnym krokiem było dobranie w każdej ze stref funkcjonalnych elementów wyposażenia, które najlepiej odnosiły się do charakteru miejsca.

    Opis:
    The objective of this paper is to present greenery design processes in publicly accessible heritage areas. This subject concerns sites under conservation via monument protection forms and new sites built in areas protected by provisions for urban complexes. Cases from Krakow, a city considered a monument by UNESCO, were analyzed. The temporal scope of the study was the last twenty-two years. The study was based on an investigation of the literature and analytical methods. The findings produced a review of design activity, as well as controversial and divisive matters. The discussion and conclusions feature an assessment of the activity investigated, which served to supplement general guidelines for the conservation approach model under current legal, environmental and social conditions. Design standards were also discussed.
    Celem artykułu jest pokazanie procesów projektowania zieleni w obszarach zabytkowych publicznie dostępnych. Problematyka dotyczy obiektów chronionych formami ochrony zabytków i nowych terenów powstających na terenach chronionych wpisami urbanistycznymi. Analizowano przypadki studialne z Krakowa uznanego za zabytek UNESCO, a zakres czasowy to okres ostatnich dwudziestu dwóch lat. Zastosowano studia literaturowe i metody analityczne. Uzyskane wyniki pokazują przegląd działań projektowych, kwestie sporne i kontrowersyjne. W dyskusji i podsumowaniu dokonano oceny podejmowanych działań, co posłużyło do uzupełnienia ogólnych wytycznych dotyczących modelu postępowania konserwatorskiego w obecnych warunkach prawnych, środowiskowych i społecznych. Odniesiono się też do standardów projektowych.
