W artykule przedstawiono aktualną sytuację oraz plany i projekty wprowadzenia szeroko pojętej automatyzacji na statkach handlowych oraz nowej ery nawigacji, którą zapoczątkują jednostki autonomiczne i bezzałogowe.
    Along with the continuous progress of technology, automation absorbs more and more activities performed so far by human. Its main purpose is to facilitate our life and work. The publication presents the current situation and projects for the introduction of broadly understood automation on commercial vessels and a new era of navigation, which will be initiated by unmanned and autonomous vessels.

    Przedstawiono wskaźniki postępu technicznego w wybranych technologiach uprawy zbóż, roślin okopowych i pastewnych oraz określono w jakim zakresie prace transportowe oddziaływają na postęp. Badania przeprowadzono w 30 gospodarstwach rolniczych położonych na terenie Małopolski. Postęp techniczny wyrażono w aspekcie ekonomicznym i energetycznym. Natomiast udział prac transportowych na osiągnięty postęp w ujęciu procentowym. Badania wykazały, iż prace transportowe w istotny sposób wpływają na postęp techniczny w wybranych technologiach produkcji rolniczej.
    The study presents the indices of technical progress in selected technologies cultivation of cereals and fodder crops of root and defines the extent to which transport works act on progress. The studies were performed in 30 farms located in the area of Małopolska. The technological progress was expressed in the economical and power aspect. Whereas the share of transport works on achieved progress was given in percentage value. Studies have shown that transport works have a significant impact on technological progress in selected technologies in agricultural production.

    Opis:
    An original neo-Schumpeterian endogenous model of economic growth is presented in the article. The model includes the capital market and is an expansion of the Aghion-Howitt model [2009]. In the model, the rate of economic growth is equal to the rate of growth of the average level of technology, which is a direct consequence of innovation, the authors say. The following sets of agents are identified in an economy described with this model: the final production sector, the intermediate production sector, the R&D sector, the government sector, and the capital market. On this basis, the dynamics of the economy was described. The theoretical discussion was expanded to include empirical research, in which the key parameters of the model were calibrated. Additionally, a Monte Carlo simulation of the economy’s dynamics was performed. On the basis of the research, the authors concluded that the main determinant of economic growth is the process of generating innovations by enterprises, which directly influences the level of technology used in production. The capital market has a significant impact on the dynamics of processes occurring in the real economy, the authors note. Technological competition helps achieve the desired state of the economy. The authorities support technological competition because it promotes the growth of the frontier level of technology and spurs economic growth. Enterprises strive to maximize their expected profits from their core business, which encourages them to improve their production technology and outperform the competition. The expectations of companies about future economic trends play an important role in shaping the dynamics of the whole system. The key issue is how risk aversion influences the portfolio investment process, the real economic decisions of enterprises and consequently economic growth, the authors note. According to Burzyński and Malaga, their research conclusions are crucial in terms of determining whether there is a dynamic equilibrium between the financial and real spheres of the economy-in other words, between the capital market, on the one hand, and innovation, technological progress and growth, on the other. Another key question is whether the liquidity and development of the capital market help spur economic growth, and how investors’ risk aversion influences the process of implementing innovations. Finally, the article sheds light on how the volatility of the capital market influences economic growth, the authors say.

    Celem artykułu jest analiza przemian emocjonalności w procesie rewolucji konsumpcyjnej, w kontekście polskim w środowisku wielkomiejskim. Wyodrębniono dwa typy emocjonalności: emocjonalność wpisaną w dyskurs postępu oraz nowoczesny hedonizm. Na podstawie etnograficznych badań terenowych, poddano analizie emocje wobec udomawianych technologii. Dyskurs postępu dominuje wśród rozmówców ze starszych pokoleń, nowoczesny hedonizm w najmłodszym pokoleniu transformacji. Przemiany emocjonalności to: wzrost emocjonalności, czyli częstsze wyrażanie emocji oraz większa liczba i zróżnicowanie wyrażanych emocji; wyrażanie emocji pożądania; angażowanie się w praktyki dla wzbudzenia emocji.
    This article discusses changes in emotionality throughout the consumer revolution in urban contexts in Poland. There are two types of emotionality: emotionality imbedded in discourse of progress; and modern hedonism. Drawing upon ethnographic data, emotions towards domesticated technologies were analyzed. Discourse of progress dominates among informants from older historical generations, modern hedonism dominates among the generation of transformation. The changes in emotionality: increase in emotionality, which means more often expression of emotions and larger number and diversity in expressed emotions; expressing the emotion of desire; engaging in practices with the goal of raising emotions through these practices.

    Im Aufsatz wird der Gedanke von Lewis Mumford und seine Wahrnehmung der technischen Kultur rekonstruiert, die in den Werken Technik und Zivilisation und Der Mythos der Maschine enthalten sind. Es wird gezeigt, dass die von den Forschern seiner Ideen unterschiedenen Phasen viele gemeinsame Momente aufweisen, die mit der kritischen Auffassung des Einflusses der Technik und der Wissenschaft auf Menschenleben verbunden sind. 
    W artykule dokonuję rekonstrukcji myśli Lewisa Mumforda i jego postrzegania kultury technicznej, zawartych w dziełach Technika a cywilizacja oraz Mit maszyny. Tom 2. Pentagon władzy. Badacze zajmujący się myślą Mumforda dzielą jego krytyczne podejście do kultury technicznej na dwie fazy, która to myślą zawarta jest we wspomnianych pracach. Sądzę jednak, że fazy które są wyodrębniane posiadają tak naprawdę wiele wspólnych momentów, przez co twardy podział proponowany przez Carla Mitchama czy Thomasa Hughesa może budzić pewne wątpliwości. 
    Reviewed are Lewis Mumford's ideas and the  perception of technical culture as  outlined in his Technics and Civilization and The Myth of the Machine. The purpose of this review  is to take note  of the common points in Mumford’s  critical notion evolving over the years  regarding  the impact of technique and science  on man’s  life as  singled out  by scholars  of his works.
