Opis:
Erasmus mobility is one of the most important manifestations of internationalization of education in Europe. The aim of the study is to ascertain the participants’ motives and the benefits coming from this international exchange of students as well as to diversify the results with regard to gender. The article, in its theoretical part, characterizes the concept of internationalization of education, describes the factors motivating for educational mobility, the benefits and the barriers of participation. The empirical part contains own researches carried out on a group of 125 students from Polish and foreign universities, using the CAWI (Computer-Assisted Web Interview) tool. It turns out that the main motivators to participate in student international education mobility is, among women, desire to travel as well as development of language skills. Men are mainly motivated by having fun and good time. Regardless of the research results it can be noticed that, generally, employers are more likely to decide to hire people who participated in and international student exchange, and the risk of long-term unemployment among graduates with international experience is lower by half than among graduates without such international experience. On the other hand, internationalization of education involves risks, including commercial profits, academic colonization and difficulties in providing high-quality education.

Celem pracy było zebranie informacji dotyczących wpływu realizacji Programu Erasmus w Uniwersytecie Lizbońskim na doskonalenie kompetencji zawodowych przyszłych nauczycieli wychowania fizycznego. W badaniach wykorzystano metodę sondażu diagnostycznego z zastosowaniem techniki kwestionariusza ankiety oraz wywiad, którą objęto 20 uczestników Programu Erasmus pochodzących z Polski, Niemiec, Finlandii, Francji i Hiszpanii. Programie Erasmus wykazuje korzyści przez wielopłaszczyznowe doskonalenie z zakresu: wiedzy, umiejętności i kompetencji społecznych, a tym samym idealnie wpisuje się w nowoczesny sposób kształcenia przyszłych nauczycieli wychowania fizycznego.
The aim of research was to obtain data regarding influence of realization Erasmus Programme at the University of Lisbon and increasing professional competences of future Physical Education teachers. In research was used diagnostic poll method included survey and interview with participants of exchange. The study group consisted of 20 people from Poland, Germany, Finland, France and Spain. Studies shown that the biggest advantage of participation in Erasmus Program is multi-faceted improvement in field of: knowledge, skills and social competence and in the same way this programme is a part of modern way of training of future physical education teachers.

The Erasmus exchange programme is one of the greatest culture and education programs, which helps students, teachers and administrative staff to explore and to grow their potential. Programme offers a chance to gain professional development through studying, teaching or training in a partner Higher Education Institution in Europe. Nine students and ten academic teachers from the Faculty of Theology, Section in Tarnow of the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow have participated in programme since 2007. The author of this article presents contribution of the Faculty of Theology, Section in Tarnow to the international cooperation and development of the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow.

One of the fundamental aspects of the organization management is determination of appropriate strategy for the adoption of development directions and organization areas that needs improvement in the context of existing opportunities and threats based on the organization strengths. The aim of the paper is analysis of the strengths and weakness of E-Guides of European universities in the context of its applying in Erasmus+ programme. Paper is a result of scientific international cooperation of Polish Erasmus coordinator with Turkish Erasmus student.
Jednym z podstawowych aspektów zarządzania organizacją jest określenie właściwej strategii działania dla określenia kierunków rozwoju oraz określenia tych obszarów w organizacji, które wymagają doskonalenia zarówno w kontekście istniejących okazji i zagrożeń w otoczeniu, jak i atutów i słabych stron organizacji. Celem artykułu jest analiza mocnych i słabych stron przewodników elektronicznych europejskich uniwersytetów w kontekście ich wykorzystania w programie Erasmus+. Artykuł jest rezultatem międzynarodowej współpracy naukowej polskiego koordynatora programu Erasmus+ ze studentką przebywającą na stażu w ramach programu Erasmus+.

“Erasmus”, named after a Dutch humanist and theologian, Erasmus of Rotterdam, is the European Commission’s programme for Higher Education (students, teachers and institutions). It was introduced with the aim of increasing student mobility within the European Community, subsequently including the European Economic Area countries, Switzerland and the Candidate Countries. Erasmus has been one of the four sectoral programmes supported under the EU Lifelong Learning Programme until the end of 2013. The author of this article in relation to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the “Erasmus” program describes the current educational opportunities of Polish students. Firstly, he presents the selected challenges and opportunities of cultural and educational uniting Europe. Then, the statistical outline of youth in Poland in the context of the European Union and the display of the educational offers within the framework of European programs is shown.

International exchanges programs are one of the most important directions of contemporary European universities development. The quality level of the international exchange of students and academic staff determines not only the quality level of the education, but it also creates directions of the future research through the prism of international cooperation between universities and students. Papers presents research findings on the international exchange students’ mobility under Erasmus+ programme between Polish and Czech universities in 2000 – 2014. The main objective of the research is to identify the most important elements of the Erasmus+ mobility results as advantages and disadvantages of the international cooperation between analyzed countries.

Poles and Czechs, despite the fact that they have been living side by side for centuries, are not interested in the neighbor and know little about each other. Lack of knowledge is often supplemented by stereotypes and prejudices that have been present in the cultures of both nations for generations. This is confirmed to a certain extent by studies carried out among students from Poland and the Czech Republic leaving to a neighboring country as part of the Erasmus+ Programme to study at a foreign university.
Polacy i Czesi, mimo że od wieków żyją obok siebie, nie są sobą nawzajem zainteresowani i mało wiedzą na swój temat. Brak wiedzy często jest uzupełniany stereotypami i uprzedzeniami, które od pokoleń są obecne w kulturach obu narodów. Potwierdzają to w pewnym stopniu badania przeprowadzone wśród studentów z Polski i Czech wyjeżdżających do sąsiedniego kraju w ramach programu Erasmus+ na studia prowadzone na uczelni zagranicznej.

Artykuł stanowi sprawozdanie z przebiegu cyklu wykładów zorganizowanych w ramach programu Erasmus+ pt. „Wspólny innowacyjny program szkolenia/nauczania mający na celu rozwój i transfer wiedzy na temat zastosowania promieniowania jonizującego w przetwórstwie materiałów”, który miał miejsce w dniach 7–18 września (Warszawa, IChTJ) oraz 27 września – 3 października (Palermo, UNIPA) 2015 r. Cykl ten obejmował wykłady najlepszych specjalistów z pięciu krajów (Turcja, Włochy, Litwa, Francja oraz Polska) i dotyczył szeroko pojętej tematyki oddziaływania promieniowania jonizującego na materię w takich dziedzinach, jak modyfikacja polimerów czy nanotechnologia. W programie uczestniczyło 39 studentów i doktorantów z sześciu europejskich krajów oraz Turcji. Realizacja niniejszego programu zakończyła się sukcesem. Osiągnięto zakładane cele, z których należy wymienić m.in. zwiększenie poziomu edukacji, poprawę kompetencji słuchaczy, czy wzmocnienie współpracy międzynarodowej.
The article is a report on lecture series organized in the frame of Erasmus+ program entitled “Joint innovative training and teaching/learning program in enhancing development and transfer knowledge of application of ionizing radiation in materials processing”, which took place on the 7–18 September (Warsaw, INCT) and 27 September – 3 October (Palermo, UNIPA) 2015. The lectures were given by the best experts from five countries (Turkey, Italy, Lithuania, France and Poland) in ionizing radiation effects on matter, especially in the field of polymer modification and nanotechnology. The 39 students from the six European countries and Turkey were participated in the program. The Erasmus+ program was a success. The aims achieved like improvement of education level, improvement of student’s competence and intensification of international cooperation were realized.

The modern, globalized world require from many persons to be in constant movement between not only geographical areas but also cultural circles. Representatives of various cultural, religious, national or ethnic groups meet on a daily basis as part of the education process, professional tasks or free time. Efficient functioning in such an environment is not possible without extended intercultural competences and creating open and tolerant society goes along with the need of breaking, rooted in tradition, stereotypes and prejudices. For a long time, a significant percentage of activities aimed at establishing relationships and cooperation between people from different cultures was based on the assumptions of the contact hypothesis, the essence of which is personal contact, exchange of experiences and verification of beliefs. This approach is reflected, inter alia, in in the European Erasmus + programs to support youth and academic mobility. Currently in the era of limitation of the possibility of movement caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic, most activities within education systems throughout Europe are carried out remotely. Contact mediated by new technologies very often lacks or significantly reduces the possibility of receiving non-verbal elements of communication, such as facial expressions, body language, proxemics or paralinguistic factors. The purpose of this article is to reflect on the effectiveness of actions based on the contact hypothesis in the case of distance contact and the need to search for new, alternative solutions in this regard. The starting point will consist of analysis of the benefits from implementing activities based on direct contact, on the example of the involvement of Erasmus+ program students in activities in the field of intercultural education in primary school. On the other hand, the difficulties observed in international projects, in which contact between participants due to the introduced restrictions must be mediated by the media will be described.
Współczesny, zglobalizowany świat wymaga od wielu osób nieustannego przemieszczania się pomiędzy obszarami nie tylko geograficznymi, ale również kulturowymi, a często funkcjonowania w wielu z nich równocześnie. Przedstawiciele różnych kręgów kulturowych, wyznaniowych, narodowych czy etnicznych spotykają się na co dzień w ramach procesu edukacji, realizacji zadań zawodowych lub spędzania czasu wolnego. Sprawne poruszanie się w takim środowisku wymaga wysoko rozwiniętych kompetencji międzykulturowych, a budowa tolerancyjnego społeczeństwa związana jest z przełamywaniem zakorzenionych w tradycji stereotypów i uprzedzeń. Przez długi czas znaczny odsetek działań ukierunkowanych na nawiązywanie relacji i współpracy między osobami pochodzącymi z różnych kręgów kulturowych był oparty na założeniach hipotezy kontaktu, której istotą jest osobiste spotkanie, wymiana doświadczeń i weryfikacja przekonań. Takie podejście znajduje odzwierciedlenie m.in. w europejskich programach wspierania mobilności młodzieżowej i akademickiej, takich jak Erasmus+. Obecnie, w dobie ograniczenia możliwości przemieszczania spowodowanego pandemią wirusa SARS-CoV-2 większość aktywności w ramach systemów edukacji w całej Europie jest realizowana w formie zdalnej. Kontakt zapośredniczony przez nowe technologie bardzo często pozbawiony jest lub znacznie ogranicza możliwość odbioru niewerbalnych elementów komunikacji takich jak mimika twarzy, mowa ciała, proksemika czy też czynniki paralingwistyczne. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest podjęcie refleksji nad skutecznością działań opartych na hipotezie kontaktu w przypadku kontaktu na odległość oraz potrzebą poszukiwania nowych, alternatywnych rozwiązań w tym zakresie. Punktem wyjścia do niej jest analiza korzyści z realizacji działań opartych na kontakcie bezpośrednim, na przykładzie zaangażowania studentów programu Erasmus+ w działania z zakresu edukacji międzykulturowej w szkole podstawowej, a z drugiej strony trudności obserwowane w projektach międzynarodowych, w których kontakt między uczestnikami ze względu na wprowadzone ograniczenia musi być zapośredniczony przez media.

Celem artykułu jest zwrócenie uwagi na rolę kontaktów z zagranicznymi instytucjami w procesie podnoszenia usług i budowania wizerunku biblioteki akademickiej. Doświadczenia Biblioteki Głównej Uniwersytetu Pedagogicznego w Krakowie wykazują pozytywny wpływ udziału w programie Erasmus na aktywność zawodową (zwiększona liczba zagranicznych transakcji międzybibliotecznych) i naukową (sprawozdania i artykuły, referaty podczas konferencji, seminaria) bibliotekarzy. W artykule omówiona została współpraca Biblioteki Głównej UP z instytucjami zagranicznymi w latach 2010-2016 prowadzona w ramach programu Erasmus i wypożyczeń międzybibliotecznych. Dane statystyczne ilustrują intensywność kontaktów Erasmusowych i międzybibliotecznych. Na podstawie doświadczeń pracownika Biblioteki Głównej UP uczestniczącego w inicjatywie International Librarians Network opisano również formy bibliotecznego networkingu.
The aim of the article is to draw attention to the role of contacts with foreign institutions in the process of improving services and building the image of an academic library. Experiences of the Main Library of the Pedagogical University in Cracow show a positive influence of participation in the Erasmus programme on the professional activity (increased number of foreign interlibrary transactions) and scientific studies (reports and articles, conference papers, seminars) of librarians. The article discusses the cooperation of the PU Main Library with foreign institutions in the years 2010-2016, conducted within the framework of the Erasmus programme and Interlibrary Loan. Statistical data illustrate the intensity of Erasmus and interlibrary contacts. Also, based on the experience of a Main Library employee participating in the International Librarians Network, library networking forms are described.

Opis:
Od 1987 roku Unia Europejska w ramach programu Erasmus wspiera zdobywanie nowych kompetencji i współpracę wyższych uczelni m.in. poprzez finansowanie wymiany studentów i kadry dydaktycznej. Od 2007 r. umożliwiła także bibliotekarzom zatrudnionym w szkołach wyższych odbywanie staży zagranicznych. W artykule zaprezentowano problem wykorzystania programu Erasmus do podnoszenia kwalifikacji zawodowych bibliotekarzy na podstawie doświadczeń pracowników Biblioteki Głównej Politechniki Śląskiej. Wśród uczestników programu Erasmus przeprowadzono ankietę, w której ocenili oni przygotowania i przebieg stażu oraz jego przydatność w rozwoju zawodowym. Analiza wyników ankiety oraz powtórne uczestnictwo części stypendystów w programie świadczy o tym, że jest to interesująca forma poszerzania wiedzy i zdobywania nowych doświadczeń.
Since 1987 the European Union supports the acquisition of new skills and cooperation among universities in the framework of the Erasmus programme, by funding the exchange of students and teaching staff. Since 2007 Erasmus also enabled internships abroad for the librarians employed in higher education. The article presents the use of the Erasmus programme to raise professional qualifications of librarians. The basis for the analysis is the experience of the employees of the Main Library at the Silesian University of Technology. A survey was conducted among the participants of the Erasmus programme. The respondents assessed the preparation and realization of the placement, and its usefulness in their professional development. The analysis of the survey results, and the repeated participation in the scholarship of a half of the beneficiaries indicate that the programme is an interesting form of upgrading one’s qualifications and gaining new experience.

Program Erasmus, wspierający międzynarodową współpracę szkół wyższych i ułatwiający mobilność studentów i pracowników uczelni, w trakcie trzydziestu lat swojej działalności doczekał się licznych opracowań. W artykule zostanie dokonana analiza treści publikacji i prezentacji za lata 2010-2016, które były efektem zagranicznych staży pracowników Biblioteki Uniwersytetu Pedagogicznego w Krakowie. Zakresy tematyczne opisane w publikacjach obejmują dzieje bibliotek, ich architekturę, wyposażenie wnętrz, usługi, działalność naukową, ofertę dydaktyczną, a także formy uczestnictwa odbytych staży oraz ocenę, wrażenia i porównania.
The Erasmus Programme supports international cooperation of higher education institutions, provides opportunities for university student and staff mobility abroad, and, during 30 years of its activity, brought numerous analyses and studies. This article will be based on the analysis of the publications and presentations that were the effects of foreign internships of the library staff of the Pedagogical University of Cracow. The thematic areas described in the publications include the history of libraries, their architecture, interior furnishings, services, scientific activity, didactic offers, as well as forms of participation in traineeships and assessments, impressions and comparisons.

The goal of this paper is to analyze the relationship between the communication competencies (in foreign languages) and the chosen phenomena of the mobile society. A number of social researchers claims, that the “mobility” becomes one of the crucial values of contemporary society and the communication in foreign languages is among the key (esential) competences of citizens. This applies also to higher education system – internationalization of universities, participation in educational exchange programmes. The article aims to discuss the meaning of communication competencies in foreign language as a challenge for international educational mobility of youth. The issue is analyzed on the basis of author’s pilot research into the educational mobility (Erasmus+ program) of university students of the Faculty of Educational Studies of Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań (N = 92). A following research thesis was put forward: the approach to foreing educational mobility will be ambivalent. The vast majority of respondents considered the participation in the class at a foreign language and improving the proficiency in foreign language as the advantages of the involvement in the Erasmus+ program. Simultaneously, the lack of foreign language ability to participate in learning process is perceived as the essential threat associated with the foreign mobility.
W artykule analizie poddano relacje między kompetencjami językowymi a wybranymi zjawiskami i procesami typowymi dla społeczeństwa mobilnego. Na podstawie diagnoz stawianych przez badaczy współczesnych społeczeństw i ich kultur można uznać, że mobilność stanowi jedną z podstawowych wartości, a kompetencje w zakresie porozumiewania się w językach obcych są jednymi z kluczowych dla osiągania dobrostanu obywateli. Dotyczy to także szkolnictwa wyższego, czego wyrazem jest wzrost internacjonalizacji, w tym zagranicznej mobilności edukacyjnej studentek i studentów. Celem tekstu jest analiza znaczenia kompetencji w zakresie komunikowania się w językach obcych jako potencjalnego wyzwania dla mobilności edukacyjnej. Empiryczną egzemplifikację stanowią tu rezultaty badań pilotażowych (N = 92) nad postawami młodzieży akademickiej wobec uczestnictwa (wymiany studenckiej) w programie Erasmus+. Badania przeprowadzono w 2017 roku na Wydziale Studiów Edukacyjnych UAM w Poznaniu. Postawiono w nich tezę o ambiwalencji w ustosunkowaniu do zagranicznej mobilności edukacyjnej. Uczestnictwo w zajęciach w języku obcym oraz polepszenie jego znajomości są przez zdecydowaną większość badanych postrzegane jako korzyści z uczestnictwa w programie Erasmus+. Jednocześnie brak kompetencji językowych do uczestnictwa w zajęciach jest uznawany za istotne zagrożenie związane z mobilnością zagraniczną.

ObjectivesThe work is aimed to present and promote the Chemical Safety Management Training Hub for Chemicals Users (ChemSM-Hub) project implemented by the Nofer Institute of Occupational Medicine in cooperation with the Lodz University of Technology, Poland, and other partners from Germany (Oekopol GmbH), Greece (Prolipsis) and Romania (Romtens). The project is co-funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ program, whose aim is to support downstream users (DUs) and distributors (Ds) of chemicals in complying with the REACH and CLP Regulations by developing an innovative training program in chemical safety management (CSM), available via the online project platform, adapted to the real needs of the target groups.Material and MethodsThe methodology for implementing the ChemSM-Hub project includes: 1) conducting survey research among the target groups, 2) conducting a state-of-the-art review of literature and websites, 3) developing the Dissemination and Promotion Plan, 4) developing the Monitoring and Evaluation Procedure, 5) developing the CSM training curriculum, 6) designing the project e-learning platform and mobile app, 7) developing the “Training pattern for trainers” guidance, and 8) organizing training events.ResultsThe project is being implemented in response to the changing EU legislation on chemicals. As a result of the project, a CSM training program has been established consisting of 3 modules (introductory, basic and advanced) with varying degrees of complexity. In addition, a pocket guide has been developed that contains basic information for DUs and Ds regarding the REACH and CLP Regulations, as well as the “Training pattern for trainers” guidance containing a CSM training session plan for trainers. All these materials will be available via the project platform, and their selected elements also via a mobile app.ConclusionsThe publication is aimed to familiarize the potential users of the ChemSM-Hub training program with its thematic scope, the structure of the training and the expected results. It is also a way to promote online training adapted to the needs of its target groups.
