Opis:: At the Kielce University of Technology a new concept of accurate measurements of sphericity deviations of machine parts has been developed. The concept is based upon measurement of roundness profiles in many clearly defined cross-sections of the workpiece. Measurements are performed with the use of typical radial measuring instrument equipped with a unit allowing accurate positioning of the ball. The developed concept required finding a solution to numerous problems relating to the principle of the radial measurement. One of the problems to be solved was matching of measured roundness profiles. The paper presents an outline of the developed concept of sphericity measurement, a mathematical model of profile matching and results of the verification of the model.

Opis:: We study dynamics of two coupled periodically driven oscillators in a general case and compare it with two simplified models. Periodic steady-state solutions to these system equations are determined within the Krylov-Bogoliubov-Mitropolsky approach. Amplitude profiles are computed. These two equations, each describing a surface, define a 3D curve – intersection of these surfaces. In the present paper, we analyse metamorphoses of amplitude profiles induced by changes of control parameters in three dynamical systems studied. It is shown that changes of the dynamics occur in the vicinity of singular points of these 3D curves.

Opis:: We consider the classic Lagrange long gravitational wave of a homogeneous incompressible fluid in a shallow canal with a corrugated bottom. We use the asymptotic expansion method to find the effective depth of a one-dimensional canal and, hence, the effective wave velocity. A flow in a two-dimensional tank with a corrugated bottom is also studied by this method.

Opis:: An important problem one needs to deal with in a Voice over IP system is server overload. One way for preventing such problems is to rely on prediction techniques for the incoming traffic, namely as to proactively scale the available resources. Anticipating the computational load induced on processors by incoming requests can be used to optimize load distribution and resource allocation. In this study, the authors look at how the user profiles, peak hours or call patterns are shaped for a real system and, in a second step, at constructing a model that is capable of predicting trends.

Opis:: The Cenozoic tectonic evolution of the Polish Platform reflects repeated changes in loading condi tions at the Al pine–Carpathian and Arctic–North Atlantic margins of the European continent. After the Late Cretaceous–Paleocene main phase of the Mid-Polish Basin inversion, a second phase of limited uplift of the Mid-Polish Swell occurred during the Middle–Late Eocene. End Eocene and Early Oligocene subsidence of narrow grabens on the Fore-Sudetic Monocline was coeval with normal fault ing in the East Alpine foredeep basin and the development of the Central European rift system. At the sametime the Outer Carpathian flysch basins were rearranged, presumably in response to the build-up of compressional stresses at crustal levels, whilst subsidence and erosion patterns changed in the Carpathian Foreland from being dominated by the NW–SE trending Mid-Pol ish Swell to being controlled by the development of the W–E trending Meta-Carpathian Swell. At the end of the Oligocene the Fore-Sudetic graben system propagated into the area of the Trans-European Suture Zone and the Sudetes and remained active during the Early and Middle Miocene. This was paralleled by intensified subduction activity and thrusting of the Carpathians and the development of their flexural foredeep basin. A short early Sarmatian episode of basement in volving transpression along the SW margin of the Mid-Pol ish Swell correlates with the termination of north-directed nappe transport in the Outer Carpathians. This was followed by eastward migration of the subsidence centre of the Carpathian Foredeep Basin and the gradual termination of tectonic activity in the grabens of the Polish Lowlands. After a period ofpost-orogenic relaxation the present-day compressional stress regime built up during the Pliocene and Quaternary. Intensified ridge push forces exerted on the Arctic–North Atlantic passive margins contribute to this compressional stress field that is dominated by collision-related stresses reflecting continued indentation of the Adriatic Block. This sequence of events is interpreted in terms of changing tectonic loads in the Carpathians, Alps and at the NW passive margin of Europe. The complex and diachronous interaction of mechanically coupled and uncoupled plates along collision zones probably underlies the temporally varying response of the Carpathian Foreland that in addition was complicated by the heterogeneous structure of its lithosphere. Progressively increasing ridge push on the passive margin played a secondary role in the stress differentiation of the study area.

Opis:: W niniejszej pracy pokazano i przedyskutowano kilka aspektów odnośnie dokładności metod teoretycznych i doświadczalnych w odniesieniu do analizy numerycznej skomplikowanego procesu wyciskania profili na gorąco. Podkreślono, że odpowiednie założenia odnośnie modelu lepko-plastycznego mają zasadniczy wpływ na otrzymywane wyniki. Najlepszą drogą weryfikacji wyników numerycznych jest przeprowadzenie badań doświadczalnych na materiałach zastępczych, a jeszcze lepiej na rzeczywistych stopach aluminium. W pracy pokazano zatem wyniki własnych badań modelowych i analizy numerycznej. Zaproponowano także wyposażenie stanowiska badawczego wraz ze schematem analizy rozpatrywanego problemu.
The accuracy of some experimental and theoretical methods with respect to numerical analysis based on finite elements has been discussed in this paper. It has been suggested, that assumption about visco-plasticity model has been determined the results of numerical analysis, where complicated process of hot extrusion takes place. The best way to verify the accuracy of numerical analysis is preparing experimental researches. The substitute material or much better - real material should be used to confirm the precision and usefulness of numerical simulation to obtain pressure distribution in symmetric and non - symmetric extrusion processes. Some results of modelling experiments and numerical analysis has been presented as well. Moreover, the experimental equipment to use with 140T press has been proposed in this paper.
