The article deals with the problem of adaptation to education/continuation of education of vocational education applicants from Ukraine, who were forced to leave the country due to the full-scale Russian aggression, in vocational schools in Poland. The research is focused on a comparative analysis (quantitative and qualitative) of the features of the system of professional training of skilled workers in Ukraine with the system of industrial education in Poland according to a specially developed methodology. The common and different points of the mentioned process are revealed. Based on the results of the study, corrective actions were created in the form of separate recommendations for their adaptation to the educational process in Polish vocational schools and socio-psychological support both at the level of the individual and at the level of interpersonal interaction, which will contribute to their successful entry into the labour market in Poland.

The main requirements for creating cross-cultural projects within the distance form of education are defined. The significant result of the study is that the use of teaching methods opens opportunities for students to master the content of professional training.

Background The competencies of medical staff in the public health emergency system and evaluated the effects of system-based professional training were investigated. Material and Methods A competency model for individuals in a public health emergency management system was developed, which contained 33 items with 5 domains. A competency-based intervention was performed. A total of 68 participants from 4 health emergency teams in Xinjiang, China were recruited and randomly divided into 2 groups: the intervention (N = 38) and control groups (N = 30). Participants in the intervention group received competency-based training, while those in the control group received no training. All participants responded to the COVID-19 activities. The competencies of medical staff in the 5 domains were then analyzed in the pre-intervention, post-first training, and post-COVID-19 intervention using a self-designed questionnaire. Results Participants’ competencies were at the middle level at baseline. After the first training, competencies in the 5 domains significantly improved in the intervention group; in the control group, there was a significant increase in professional quality compared in the pre-training. After the response to COVID-19, the mean scores of competencies in the 5 domains significantly increased in both the intervention and control groups compared with those in the post-first training. Psychological resilience scores were higher in the intervention group than in the control group, whereas no significant differences in competencies were found in other domains. Conclusions Competency-based interventions provided practice and showed a positive effect on improving the competencies of medical staff in public health teams. Med Pr. 2023;74(1)

Aim. The paper presents information on the concept of teaching materials supporting professional development of mentors,  either teacher trainees trainers or introducing  teachers of novice teachers, created within an international project by experts from 6 higher education institutions (Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra – SK,  the University of J. Selye in Komárno - SK, Eszterházy Károly Catholic University in Eger - HU, the University of Ostrava in Ostrava - CZ, the Prague University of Economics and Business in Prague - CZ, the University of Novi Sad in Novi Sad – SRB). Methods. Based on analyses of different resources and opinions of experts nominated by the above mentioned higher education institution a mentor competence profile consisting of fifteen key competences was compiled. Based on the platform of the created profile teaching materials supporting successful performance of the mentor role or position were processed. Results. As a main output of the international project 2020-1-SK01-KA201-078250 Mentor training of the Erasmus+ program, five textbooks were created , the basic one in the English version and the other four – its mutations in the national languages of the individual project partners. Conclusion. The textbooks created within the project will be used in the project partner countries within the mentors practical training and preparation. Cognitive value. Currently the concept and philosophy of the teaching materials created within the Mentor training project have become a background for processing further teaching materials supporting mentors´ competence development, which are under preparation within an other international project, namely the bilateral Slovak-Serbian project APVV SK-SRB-21-0025 Mentors´ Vademecum supported by the Slovak Research and Development Agency.

Aim. The empirical study of gender differences in the dispositional mental states of university teachers who were internally displaced during martial law. Methods. A combined research strategy was used, integrating the methods for comparing samples of female and male participants. The different types of dispositional mental states of the respondents were identified by the author’s methodology for the study of dominant mental states. Results. It was discovered that the respondents’ psychological content parameters showed statistically significant gender-based differences. Group 1 prevailed in terms of anxiety (U = 855.0; p = .000). Group 2 prevailed in terms of self-control (U = 975.0; p = .001); awareness of events (U = 707.5; p = .000); expected attitude (U = 1074.0; p = .006); expected result (U = 1067.0; p = .006) and psychological well-being (U = 1113.5; p = .014). The dispositional mental states of a female sample of internally displaced university teachers were represented by five components with a total variation of ∑d = 74.527%. The male sample had four factors with a total variation ∑d = 94.442%. It was stated that there were significant differences between the dispositional mental states of female and male teachers in terms of formal characteristics and content loading of components. Conclusions. The scientific value of empirical facts about the dispositional mental states of university teachers who were internally displaced as a result of wartime action is justified. The importance of incorporating the discovered results into scientific and educational processes is emphasised.

Opis:
The origin and development of engineering pedagogy as a subdiscipline of pedagogy in Ukraine and in foreign countries is analyzed. The outstanding role of the founder of IGIP Professor Adolf Melecinek in the processes of formation of an international scientific school of engineering pedagogy and creation of conditions for professional-pedagogical and psychological training of teachers of technical disciplines as a factor in training competitive engineers is discussed. The essence, content and structure of professional training of future engineers with the aim of forming professional competences are highlighted. The features of the cognitive and practical activities of future engineers are revealed. The components and conditions for increasing the efficiency of the formation of the engineer’s professional competence and his readiness have been determined. Particular attention is given to the quality of academic teaching is decisively determined by the qualifications and competencies of the teaching staff, which also include university pedagogical capabilities. Therefore, it has been substantiated that with the growing environment and consciousness of “outcome-based education”, the importance of engineering pedagogy has increased manifold.
Artykuł dotyczy pochodzenia i rozwoju pedagogiki inżynierskiej w Ukrainie i w innych krajach. Omówiono wybitną rolę założyciela IGIP profesora Adolfa Melecinka w procesach kształtowania się międzynarodowej szkoły naukowej pedagogiki inżynierskiej oraz tworzenia warunków do profesjonalnego pedagogicznego i psychologicznego przygotowania nauczycieli dyscyplin technicznych jako czynnika kształcenia konkurencyjnego inżyniera. Zwrócono uwagę na istotę, treść i strukturę szkolenia zawodowego przyszłych inżynierów w celu kształtowania kompetencji zawodowych. Ujawniono cechy poznawczej i praktycznej działalności przyszłych inżynierów. Określono składowe i warunki zwiększenia efektywności kształtowania kompetencji zawodowych inżyniera oraz jego gotowości. Szczególną uwagę przywiązuje się do jakości nauczania akademickiego, która w decydującym stopniu determinowana jest kwalifikacjami i kompetencjami kadry dydaktycznej, do których zalicza się również uniwersyteckie możliwości pedagogiczne. Zaznaczono, że wraz z rosnącym środowiskiem i świadomością „edukacji opartej na wynikach” znaczenie pedagogiki inżynierskiej wzrosło wielokrotnie.

The article examines the professional training of future teachers in the context of ensuring its quality. The process is responsible and complex, and its effectiveness is determined by many factors, including the use of a system approach to organization. During our scientific exploration, we have identified the system approach as a research object and have specifically considered the educational system. This system is characterized by the interrelationship of its components. Summarizing the views of researchers on the system approach, it is clear that it should not be solely associated with the process of cognition. The system approach has much wider possibilities as it can be considered as the methodological basis of not only cognitive but also transformative activity. From a system approach perspective, we view the training of future teachers as a system with its own content, a hierarchy of structural elements, cause-and-effect relationships, subject-subject interaction, and features of the educational process. It is argued that the problem of ensuring the quality of professional training of future teachers should be studied using a system approach, since it requires a system analysis of the external and internal systems of ensuring the quality of professional training of future teachers, identifying a set of elements, establishing and ordering connections between them, and highlighting system-forming connections that integrate various elements into a system.
W artykule przeanalizowano kształcenie zawodowe przyszłych nauczycieli w kontekście zapewnienia jego jakości. Jest to proces bardzo ważny i złożony, a o jego skuteczności decyduje wiele czynników, w tym zastosowanie systemowego podejścia do organizacji. Analizując to zagadnienie, przyjęliśmy podejście systemowe wobec przedmiotu badań, którym jest system edukacyjny. Charakteryzuje się on zależnościami między jego elementami. Z przeglądu literatury jasno wynika, że podejście systemowe nie powinno być kojarzone wyłącznie z procesem poznania. Niesie ono ze sobą znacznie szersze możliwości, gdyż można je uznać za metodologiczną podstawę aktywności nie tylko poznawczej, ale i transformacyjnej. Z perspektywy podejścia systemowego kształcenie przyszłych nauczycieli postrzegamy jako system posiadający własną treść, hierarchię elementów strukturalnych, związki przyczynowo-skutkowe, interakcje między podmiotami oraz cechy procesu edukacyjnego. Autorzy dowodzą, że problem zapewnienia jakości kształcenia zawodowego przyszłych nauczycieli należy rozpatrywać z wykorzystaniem podejścia systemowego, ponieważ wymaga on analizy zewnętrznych i wewnętrznych systemów zapewnienia jakości kształcenia zawodowego przyszłych nauczycieli, zidentyfikowania zbioru elementów, ustalenia i uporządkowania powiązań między nimi, a także ustalenia i uporządkowania powiązań między nimi.

The article examines the ways intercultural aspects are dealt with in textbooks for learning business language (in the broad sense) in French, Spanish and Italian. The authors of the textbooks analyzed represent different approaches, both at the level of the declared learning objectives and at the level of the techniques applied. Among the textbooks analyzed there are also those oriented towards the development of intercultural skills. Their goal is not so much to prepare the learner to evolve in a given culture, but to make them aware of the differences between their own and the target culture(s)and to be able to mediate between the representatives of each of them. Although in a textbook for the teaching/learning of a foreign language for specialized purposes, intercultural training preparing for “culture shock” must necessarily be limited, the examples observed show that educators aware of the importance of this issue can offer interesting solutions and proposals.

This article considers professional education and its impact on professional practice. The educational starting points of the topic and the forms and didactic methods of education which help to activate workers and their participation in education are discussed in the introduction. The article presents the psychosocial aspects of life which modify the work performance of the worker. These are partial aspects of his life path and include both individual educational motives and barriers. Educational barriers can be caused, for example, by the inappropriate setting of professionally oriented educational programs. Managers can have a significant impact on workers’ educational motivation.
Artykuł dotyczy edukacji zawodowej i jej wpływu na praktykę zawodową. We wstępie omówiono edukacyjne punkty wyjścia tematu oraz formy i metody dydaktyczne edukacji, które sprzyjają aktywizacji pracowników i ich partycypacji w edukacji. W artykule przedstawiono psychospołeczne aspekty życia, które modyfikują wydajność pracy. Są to częściowe aspekty jego drogi życiowej i obejmują zarówno indywidualne motywy edukacyjne, jak i bariery. Bariery edukacyjne mogą być spowodowane na przykład nieodpowiednim ustawieniem programów edukacyjnych zorientowanych zawodowo. Menedżerowie mogą mieć znaczący wpływ na motywację edukacyjną pracowników.

The purpose of the article is to analyze the content of professional and practical training of future specialists on the example of teacher training in specialty 014 “Secondary education. English language and foreign literature” of Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University. A review of the scientific literature was carried out, which shows that many scientists were engaged in the study of the problem of training a philology teacher in Ukraine. The interpretation of the concepts “training”, “teacher training”, “professional training of a philology teacher”, “professional training of a foreign language teacher” by various scientists was analyzed. The concept of “teacher of philological specialties” is analyzed. The definition of the concept of “professional training of a philology teacher” is given. The concept of training a philology teacher in dual majors, training future teachers of humanities majors is analyzed. The article states that the training of future English language teachers consists of three cycles: general education, professional training and three types of pedagogical practice. In turn, the first two cycles are divided into two parts: educational disciplines of the normative and variable part. The article analyzes in detail the curriculum of specialty 014 “Secondary education. English language and foreign literature” for 2023/2024 academic year. In particular, the disciplines of general and professional training are indicated, the percentage of study time allocated to the study of educational disciplines of the normative and variable part of the cycle of professional training is calculated. A large list of elective subjects that students have the right to choose for their major is presented. A conclusion was made about the balanced professional and practical language training of philology teachers in Ukraine due to the successful distribution of study time for the study of the main philological and methodical disciplines. Optional educational disciplines in the variable part significantly enrich the curriculum and, accordingly, contribute to positive dynamics in the knowledge of students of higher education in specialty 014 “Secondary education. English language and foreign literature”. The analysis of the curriculum for the training of teachers of English language and foreign literature confirmed thorough training in general and special philological disciplines.

The article presents an updated model of playing a computer game as the user’s interaction with its system, taking into consideration audiovisuality as the fundamental channel for computer-human communication. Interactivity is an inherent property of computer games, which clearly distinguishes them from other kinds of games: it is therefore a defining feature of computer games. On the other hand, audiovisuality is a necessary characteristic, following from the communication between the computer and its user, taking place mainly in the channel of synchronized image and sound, which is dominant in human perception. The point of departure for the model development is an analysis of human interaction with the machine which runs the game system; in the model, there is a dynamic change from interactivity of a computer game to a human being’s interaction with the computer while playing, which makes it possible to fully account for the complexity of the situation of playing a computer game. The presented model combines the ludic aspect of a computer game (interactive entertainment) with the capacity to convey messages (an audiovisual cultural text), and from a commmunicative perspective, it unambiguously assigns a human being the role of the subject using a computer game.

Przedstawiono zakres materiału szkoleniowego Akademii Liderów, metody organizacji pracy oraz spodziewany wpływ kursu na rozwój zawodowy pracowników Biblioteki oraz na jej funkcjonowanie.
Academy of Leaders – waste of time or a talent pool? Team management requires specific skills. Management staff pools may consist of skilled long-time managers as well as newbies. Institutions can make use of both the competence of experienced employees and innovative point of view of newly acquired staff. Appropriately adjusted training which engages managers of all levels, irrespective of their individual skills and needs, is an important part of human resources development. The author of the paper discusses Academy of Leaders – a training addressed to the management and administrative staff of the University of Warsaw, including the employees of the University Library. Opis:
Centra kształcenia zawodowego i ustawicznego w województwie świętokrzyskim na ogół dysponowały właściwie wyposażonymi pracowniami i zatrudniały nauczycieli o odpowiednich kwalifikacjach – mogłyby zatem pełnić ważną rolę w systemie edukacji na tym poziomie. W latach 2019–2021 organizowały praktyczną naukę zawodu, kwalifikacyjne kursy zawodowe i turnusy dokształcania teoretycznego młodocianych pracowników. Jednak w prawie wszystkich Centrach odbywało się to nieprawidłowo i nieefektywnie, co było wynikiem nieprzestrzegania przepisów, nieuwzględniania potrzeb i lokalnych uwarunkowań. Maleje znaczenie tych placówek na rynku edukacyjnym województwa, sytuacji nie poprawiło też uruchomienie nowoczesnego Centrum w Kielcach, którego potencjał nie jest wykorzystywany.
Vocational education centres were established on 1 September 2019 as a result of the consolidation of technical and didactic resources and tasks of the previous practical education centres, additional training centres and centres of vocational development. In the academic year 2020/2021, in the vocational schools of the Świętokrzyskie Region there were over 24,000 students, while the graduates of technical colleges and vocational schools made over a half of all the graduates of secondary schools. As it transpires from the audit results, the centres usually had well equipped rooms and properly qualified teachers – therefore they could have played an important role in the educational system at the secondary level. In the years 2019–2021 they organised practical training on jobs, professional courses and additional theoretical training for young employees. However, in the majority of the centres these were not organised properly and were ineffective, due to the negligence of regulations, and due to disregarding the needs of the labour market and local conditions. The importance of these centres on the educational market of the region has been decreasing, and the situation has not improved following the launch of a modern centre in Kielce, the potential of which has not been fully used either.

The article considers the problems of creativity development of higher education students at a bachelor’s level in „Preschool Education” in professional training. Creativity is defined as an integrated quality of the future educator of preschool children in kindergarten, and the importance of creative thinking development during the assimilation of educational components of the professional direction is determined. Modern approaches to the problem of creativity and the selection of different types, factors and criteria suggest that this category has a multidimensional nature, and creativity itself is considered today a necessity in the life of modern man. The essence of the concept of „pedagogical conditions” is revealed. The pedagogical conditions for the effective development of creative thinking of future educators of preschool children that improve the quality of professional training in higher education are considered. Three conditions of creative thinking development of higher education students of the preschool profile are substantiated. They are the use of innovative pedagogical technologies, forms, methods and techniques for activating the creative potential of higher education students of „Preschool Education” speciality in the educational process of higher education institutions; ensuring the problematic nature of the educational process of future educators of preschool children; active practice-oriented activities of future educators of preschool children. Innovative pedagogical technologies and leading methods of work with future educators of preschool children are projects, quests, training sessions, and classes based on certain methods of the theory of inventive problems (MTIP). They allow teachers to guide students of higher education to self-improvement and self-realisation, creative activity, and future professionals to master their knowledge, skills, and abilities to solve specific educational problems in preschool, apply creative approaches, and develop communication and organisational skills. Modern approaches to the problem of creativity, the selection of different types, factors and criteria suggest that this category has a multidimensional nature, and creativity itself is considered today a necessity in the life of modern man.
