This article addresses the issue of the competence of counsellors working with people experiencing sexual violence. The theoretical part of the article describes the basic concepts related to institutional (professional) counselling and describes a professional counsellor and his/her competences in a descriptive way. The subject of the research includes the competences of counsellors in the field of working with people who have experienced sexual violence. The purpose of the study was determining and describing their competences – both organizational and professional ones – from the perspective of the experience of individual listeners preparing for counselling work. The study uses a narrative method with content analysis. The research problem took the form of the following question: what are the competences of a counsellor in accompanying a sexually abused person from the perspective of the personal experience of future counsellors? The research was conducted in 2019 among 23 postgraduate students preparing for counselling work. The results made it possible to select subcategories within the examined categories that show the specificity and value of the competences described by the respondents, and allowed us to emphasize the importance of the interdisciplinary knowledge and skills of counsellors. In addition, the conclusions of the study are valuable for pedagogical practice, especially in terms of enriching the offer of studies addressed to counsellors working with people who have experienced sexual violence.

The aim of this article is to present results of a study concerning the level of social competences displayed by students of tourism and recreation and how it relates to their work experience. The author hypothesized that the fact of being employed could help to differentiate between different levels of social competences in the student population. Factors such as the length of work experience, positions held, work abroad, internships, and voluntary work were analysed. The study was based on quantitative and qualitative data collected using such tools such as the Social Competence Questionnaire and the Questionnaire for Self-Assessment of Student’s Professional Achievements in order to identify forms of professional activity among the respondents. Full-time students of tourism and recreation were found to have an average level of social competences, and their work experience, considered as a form of social training, did not differentiate between different levels of social competence. No statistically significant correlations were found between the level of social competence and internships at secondary schools, internships at university, work experience in general and in tourism and recreation in particular, and voluntary work. Also, positions held did not differentiate the level of social competence. It could therefore be concluded that the respondents’ work experience was too short to have a measurable effect on the level of their social competences, which take much more time to develop and depend on personal and environmental factors.

Zainicjowany w kwietniu 2020 r. proces jest przykładem dobrej praktyki edukacji do pracy socjalnej, która – w zmienionych warunkach nowej codzienności – rozwija kluczowe kompetencje zawodowe: zdolność do współpracy, bliskości, otwartości oraz uczenia się i nadawania sensu sytuacjom kryzysowym.
The authors present the On-line on-Soul student education initiative, which was directly stimulated by the change of the form of academic education in the period of increasing COVID-19 threat. The substantive focus of group activity was the opportunity to discuss the consequences of the global state of isolation for the mental health of people and social groups, and to conduct it in the conditions of remote communication. The process, initiated in April 2020, is an example of good practice in education for social work, which – in the changed conditions of new everyday life – develops key professional competences: the ability to cooperate, closeness, openness as well as learning and giving meaning to crisis situations.

The Professional developmenmt of a teacher in the XXI century should be a standard. Especially among young teachers who just begins to follow his professional way. Interest of a man determines his choice of professional carrier. In this article the review of apropriate literature is made in order to define competences and interests. Also characteristic of classifications of professional competences of teachers was made. By means of descritption and analyse of own researches the author tries to revill the impact of interests on taken professional development by young teachers. She describes also different forms of professional development taken by teachers and their actual interests.

Celem artykułu jest próba oceny poziomu efektów kształcenia wspólnych dla zawodów w obszarach związanych z bezpieczeństwem i higieną pracy, językiem obcym ukierunkowanym zawodowo, podejmowaniem działalności gospodarczej i kompetencjami personalno-społecznymi. Wynika to z celów kształcenia zawodowego, którego zadaniem jest przygotowanie uczących się do życia w warunkach współczesnego świata, wykonywania pracy zawodowej i aktywnego funkcjonowania na zmieniającym się rynku pracy. Coraz częściej pracodawcy oczekują od kandydatów, nie tylko określonego wykształcenia potwierdzonego dokumentem, ale też umiejętności związanych z funkcjonowaniem na stanowisku pracy w codziennej praktyce. Stąd też efekty kształcenia wspólne dla wszystkich zawodów, które stanowią składową kompetencji zawodowych nabierają szczególnego znaczenia. Zaprezentowane zostały wyniki oraz wnioski badania pilotażowego, które będą stanowiły przesłankę do dalszych poszukiwań badawczych, istotnych w procesie wspierania jakości i efektywności szkoły w kształtowaniu kompetencji zawodowych uczniów szkół branżowych I stopnia.
The aim of the article was to attempt to assess the level of learning outcomes common to professions related to occupational health and safety, a professionally oriented foreign language, business start-up, and personal and social competences. This is due to the objectives of vocational training, which task is to prepare learners to live in the conditions of the modern world, to perform professional work and to function in the changing labor market actively. More and more employers expect not only specific education confirmed by a document, but also some skills connected with functioning in the workplace in everyday practice from candidates. Hence, there are learning outcomes common to all professions that are part of professional competences and they acquire special significance. The results and conclusions of the pilot study were presented. They will constitute a premise for further research that are relevant in the process of supporting the quality and effectiveness of school in the shaping students’ professional competences in first-degree industry schools.

Celem artykułu jest poznanie czynników warunkujących kompetencje zawodowe studentów kończących wybrane kierunki techniczne, z uwzględnieniem specyfiki wiejskiego rynku pracy. Badaniami objęto grupę celową 84 studentów, którzy zadeklarowali chęć podnoszenia kompetencji przedsiębiorczych w systemie pozaedukacyjnym. Wyniki badań wykazały, że studenci wysoko oceniają zarówno przydatność wiedzy nabywanej podczas toku studiów, jak i rangę doświadczenia zawodowego w ramach praktyk zawodowych i staży. Niska jest natomiast orientacja na tworzenie miejsc pracy, w tym podejmowania działalności gospodarczej na własny rachunek.
The aim of this article is to recognize factors which determined professional competences of students who in the short time are finishing choosen technical direction of high education with particular regard paid to rural labour market. The survay covered 84 studentas, which wanted to bring up their entrepreneurial competence in extraeducational system. Results of research showed that students evaluated highly usefulness of knowledge, which they obtained during study as well as knowlege, they evaluated within professional practices. However, they aren’t interested in creation of work place and taking up own economic activites. Therefore, it is indispensable to look for effective ways on stimulation of entrepreneurship among young people.

W niniejszym artykule poruszona została tematyka kompetencji informacyjno-komunikacyjnych. Na wstępie wykonano analizę relacji kompetencji informatycznych i informacyjnych oraz ich miejsca w katalogu kompetencji zawodowych. W drugiej części zaprezentowano analizę wyników badań kompetencji informacyjno-komunikacyjnych osób bezrobotnych w rozbiciu ich na jej komponenty: wiedzę, umiejętności i postawy (kompetencje społeczne). Z zaprezentowanych wyników zbiorczych widać, że poziom wiedzy osób bezrobotnych jest przeciętny, umiejętności – również przeciętny, a kompetencji społecznych – wysoki. Kumulatywny poziom kompetencji informacyjno-komunikacyjnych jest natomiast przeciętny.
The aim of this study is to describe information and communication competences. At the beginning an analysis of the relationship between communication and information competences and their place in the catalogue of professional competences was made. The second part presents the analysis of the results of research on communication and information competences of the unemployed, divided into its components: knowledge, skills and attitudes (social competences). The presented aggregate results show that the level of knowledge of the unemployed is common, the skills are also average, and their social competences – high. The cumulative level of information and communication competences is average.

Artykuł stanowi prezentację projektu badawczego mającego na celu diagnozę przygotowania polskich nauczycieli i pedagogów (pracujących na różnych etapach kształcenia formalnego) w zakresie edukacji międzykulturowej. Podjęta w projekcie problematyka stanowi odpowiedź na zmiany zachodzące we współczesnym świecie (w tym – na szczególnie wyrazistą w ostatnich latach – intensyfikację ruchów migracyjnych), które wymagają od nauczycieli wiedzy merytorycznej i metodycznej do pracy w zróżnicowanej kulturowo klasie/szkole i wielokulturowym społeczeństwie. Podstawę warsztatu metodologicznego stanowi zbiór autorskich narzędzi – kwestionariusz ankiety i skale pomiarowe, stworzone w efekcie wcześniejszych poszukiwań badawczych i zaadoptowane informatycznie do realizacji badań ogólnopolskich i międzynarodowych.
The article presents a research project aiming at diagnosis of vocational preparation of Polish educators (working at varies levels of formal education) in the field of intercultural education. The issue of the project is a response to the changes in the contemporary world (including a particularly expressive migration growth in last years), which require from teachers subject-matter and methodological knowledge to work in a culturally diverse classroom/school and in the multicultural society. The basis of the methodological techniques is a set of research instruments – a questionnaire and measurement scales, created as a result of previous explorations and adopted to conduct further national and international researches.

The interest in the teaching profession is evident in the discussions of students and their parents, school graduates, teachers working at various stages of education, sociologists, psychologists, educators and representatives of many other professions that are simply impossible to be mentioned. Topics of these discussions are varied, they concern teachers’ qualifications and competences, their educational background, selection of candidates for the profession, personality traits, the functions they perform, teaching methods used by them, etc. Often, the participants of such discussions are not professionally connected with the teaching profession, but each of them had the opportunity to develop their own view and opinion of this profession based on many years of experience while participating, as a student, in the process of education. It can be assumed that this attention points to the significant role of the teacher in society and therefore results in frequently emotional discussions that conclude with enumeration of the teachers’ duties, skills and abilities in addition to the principles behind their actions and conduct while performing their didactic and educational work. At this point, I would like to pose the questions: What about the teacher’s independence? Does the teacher have the opportunity to carry out his or her work independently? In the article, which consists of two parts, I attempt to answer these questions. In the first part, I present theoretical approaches to the teacher, his or her qualifications and competences, with particular focus placed on the professional independence. The second part contains the results of surveys on professional independence and its determinants, conducted among pre-school and early school education teachers in the Wielkopolska region.
