Opis:
In this paper, the results of investigations into, and of the analyses of, the hot deformation behaviour of the Ni50Cr45N0.6 alloy were presented. Compression tests were conducted on a Gleeble 3800 thermo-mechanical simulator within the following temperatures range 850-1200°C and within that of the strain rate 1-40 s-1 to the constant true strain of 0.9, for the purpose of fulfilling the objective of obtaining experimental stress date. Those data were taken advantage of for the purpose of calculating the workability parameters, and that means the efficiency of power dissipation η, the flow instability ξ and the strain rate sensitivity m. The processing maps based upon Murty’s criterion were drawn up for the following true strain range: 0.2-0.9, and, subsequently, both processing windows and the flow instability areas were determined. For the alloy being analysed, the most advantageous conditions of metal forming were ascertained within the following range of temperatures: 950-1000°C, and for that of the strain rate amounting to 10-40 s-1, and that because of (occurring at the temperature of 950°C) the peak of the efficiency of power dissipation parameter η, amounting to 22% (in accordance with Murty’s criterion). The flow instability areas identified on the processing maps ought to be avoided in metal forming processes. Experimental rolling tests were also conducted.

Opis:
Results of investigation of the effect of processing conditions of medium-carbon alloy steel AISI 300M on forgeability and microstructure-properties are presented here, including as-forged and heat treated condition of the material. The presented results concern two vital aspects of plastic forming of high-duty impression-die forgings, which underlay a selection of technological conditions which enable the accomplishment of the required quality of the forged part. These are: firstly, the microstructure and mechanical properties and their uniformity within a part and secondly, technological realization of forging the required geometry in the given processing conditions. In order to define a favourable processing window, dynamic behaviour modeling in variable forging conditions was carried out, establishing a coefficient of energy dissipation η% and the metal flow instability areas, which indicated the temperature regime and strain rate range for the forging process. The constructed processing maps were subject to experimental verification in the die-forging tests, carried out on a screw press. Hot and warm forging conditions were applied accordingly to selected areas of the processing maps, representative for unique forging conditions occurring in the industrial practice.

Opis:
Almost all engine failures have an influence on engine's vibration, which is described in the article .Of course not every time diagnostic system can report of that. This is a reason why detection of vibrations must be accomplished with high quality diagnostic systems. Therefore, Doppler laser Vibrometry based on scanner Polytec had been used. To achieve full diagnostic results multidimensional vibration's function has been invented, where the torque moment is used as an extra parameter. Measured vibrations were subjected to digital signal processing like windowing, fast Fourier transform, filtration byfinite impulse response windowed filters. The results of measure and processing per-form inform of contour 3 D plots, which indulge in speed estimate of the usefulness of presented method. Tested engine performance, vibration measurement parameters, adopted diagnostic circuit, Digital processing of vibration signal, Vibration versus torque and magnitude spectrum (contour vibroacoustic map) of engine in good working order; co = 2000 rpm, contour vibroacoustic map of engine in good working order; co = 4000 rpm, contour vibroacoustic map of engine with fail of injection system; co = 2000 rpm, contour vibroacoustic map of engine with fail of injection system; co = 4000 rpm, contour vibroacoustic map of engine withfail of turbo charger; co = 2000 rpm are presented in the paper.

Opis:
A new hardware implementation of the triangular neighborhood function (TNF) for ultra-low power, Kohonen self-organizing maps (SOM) realized in the CMOS 0.18žm technology is presented. Simulations carried out by means of the software model of the SOM show that even low signal resolution at the output of the TNF block of 3-6 bits (depending on input data set) does not lead to significant disturbance of the learning process of the neural network. On the other hand, the signal resolution has a dominant influence on the overall circuit complexity i.e. the chip area and the energy consumption. The proposed neighborhood mechanism is very fast. For an example neighborhood range of 15 a delay between the first and the last neighboring neuron does not exceed 20 ns. This in practice means that the adaptation process starts in all neighboring neurons almost at the same time. As a result, data rates of 10-20 MHz are achievable, independently on the number of neurons in the map. The proposed SOM dissipates the power in-between 100 mW and 1 W, depending on the number of neurons in the map. For the comparison, the same network realized on PC achieves in simulations data rates in-between 10 Hz and 1 kHz. Data rate is in this case linearly dependend on the number of neurons.

Opis:
Adequate and concise representation of the shape of irregular objects from satellite imagery is a challenging problem in remote sensing. The conventional methods for cartographic shape representation are usually inaccurate and will provide only a rough shape description if the description process is to be fully automated. The method for automatic cartographic description of water basins presented in this paper is based on Self-Organizing Maps (SOM) - a class of neural networks with unsupervised learning. So-called structured SOM with local shape attributes such as scale and local connections of vertices are proposed for the description of object shape. The location of each vertex of piecewise linear generating curves that represent skeletons of the objects corresponds to the position of a particular SOM unit. The proposed method makes it possible to extract the object skeletons and to reconstruct the planar shapes of sparse objects based on the topological constraints of generating lines and the estimation of local scale. A context-dependent vertex connectivity test is proposed to enhance the skeletonization process. The test is based on the Markov random chain model of vertices belonging to the same generating line and the Bayesian decision-making principle. The experimental test results using Landsat-7 images demonstrate the accuracy of the proposed approach and its potential for fully automated mapping of hydrological objects.
