Music influences the human on the psychological and physiological level. This article centres on the selected mechanisms of the impact of music on emotional and somatic processes of a listener. The paper discusses the phenomenon of acoustic driving and mechanism for adjusting the emotional state of a listener to emotional expression of music. Publication also concerns the impact of music on the emotions through the activation of imagination and memory. Musical expectations and evaluative conditioning as sources of emotional reactions are analyzed too.

The aim of this paper is to present the method of reengineering of business processes that perform engineer-to-order production in a manufacturing company. The base of the method is a strategy of the company that applies Balanced Scorecard technique. The reengineering of critical business processes in the enterprise is assigned to the implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning system. The method facilitates the quantitative evaluation of business process improvements in the enterprise and the support for assigning the Total Cost of Ownership of the ERP system.

Linguistic Processes Determining
Opis:
The article aims at analyzing the principle which determines the acceptability and correctness of nominalizations performed upon sentences of the type: NP-Cop-AP. The discourse was initiated by Chomsky (1972), who demonstrated the fact that the correctness of TNOM>S established by processes taking place in SS, thus suggesting that the analysis of SS might shed light on the nature of the underlying DS processes. This view was lated supported by evidence coming from the analysis of the lexical features of NP and AP, carried out by Postal (1974). Thus discussion was initiated as to the role of 'the lexicalist hypothesis' and iexicalism' in sentence derivation. The author of the article discusses the validity of 'the lexicalist hypothesis', which maintains that lexical features alone can suffice for the explanation of the acceptability of TNOM applied to strings NP-Cop-AP. She claims that the resort to the lexical features needs to be made with respect to, as she calls them, elliptic structures, i. e. structures with shifted designations. In the search for the rule determining the correctness of TN0M, the author considers such principles as: Chomskean observation of its dependence upon the 'rough similarity' between SS and DS (Chomsky 1972), Postal's analysis of agentivity (Postal 1974), the role of the antecedent of the implied subject of the infinitive phrase (whenever it is contained in such structures) and, as she calls it, TNOM-over-TNOM principle. The analysis leads to the conclusion that the acceptability of TNOM CAN be assumed to be determined by the syntactic process. The author names it TNOM" over-TNOM constraint and analyzes it on the selected corpus of English and Polish sentences.

Cataclastic rocks of Abu Rushied area (South Eastern Desert, Egypt) characterized by the presence of niobium, tantalum, zirconium minerals as well as uranium-thorium minerals. Physical upgrading process was applied using gravity and magnetic separation techniques to concentrate these economic minerals mainly to obtain the magnetic niobium concentrate at 0.2- 0.5 ampere, beside the non-magnetic Zr and U at 1.5 ampere. The chemical processing upon niobium concentrate was performed using NH4F roasting process at 250ºC followed by selective precipitation of Nb as Nb-sulfide. An alkaline fusion using NaOH was applied upon zirconium concentrate at the optimum conditions of: zircon concentrate/ NaOH mass ratio 1/2, fusion temperature of 650ºC and 2.5h fusion time followed by selective precipitation of Zr as Zr- tartrate. Finally, two flowsheets were drawn summarizing the whole recovery processes.

Opis:
The aim of this paper is to present the types of fertility patterns that characterise European countries and their NUTS-1 units in the early 21st c. and in the near future. The types of fertility patterns were defined by ordering six five-year age groups of women aged from 15 to 44 years, according to the groups’ fertility rates (from the highest to the lowest). The analysis resulted in the creation of 14 different types of fertility patterns. Countries located in the same European region tend to have the same or similar type of fertility pattern. In most European countries, the postponement transition can be observed, and it will probably continue in the future. Differences between the fertility rates of the age groups were assessed within countries and between countries with the same type of fertility pattern by calculating the so-called fertility rate ratios. The paper also provides an overview of the main theories and concepts explaining the course of family formation processes in Europe and indicates factors that shape fertility patterns in European countries today.

Combustion piston engine is one of the devices in which fast changeable processes occur in operational conditions. In this paper are presented basic problems associated with research on fast changeable processes occurring in diesel engines, exemplified by the processes of indicated pressure and fuel pressure injected to engine's cylinder. Dynamical characteristics of the investigated processes were analyzed and problems of synchronous averaging of pseudo-periodical signals were considered in order to limit high frequency noise content in useful signal. Some limitations of elimination effectiveness of high frequency noise from tested signals have been revealed.
