Maintaining a stable carbon dioxide content in the process of producing breathing air is important both for the safety of divers performing underwater work and for avoiding financial losses resulting from poor product quality. This paper deals with the implementation of safety measurement systems for online control of the breathing air production process. On the basis of a qualified control system, the capability of the rationalised process was assessed, identifying both its current status and its potential for improvement in terms of eliminating defects caused by excessive carbon dioxide content. For process reasons, the effectiveness of online process monitoring was evaluated against the previously used periodic sample control by means of laboratory methods of instrumental analysis. The analysis was conducted at KTPP AMW1 for the compressed air supply system of the DGKN - 1202 complex.

Objective: Paracondylar (PCP) and epitransverse processes (ETP) represent rare types of articulations that can occur between the occipital bone and the transverse process of atlas vertebra. Material and methods: Five systematic search strings were conducted on PubMed database on 14.01.2022. The search was conducted by one observer to identify studies on PCP, and on ETP in living patients. Open and close access articles were selected as this topic is infrequently described in the main medical literature. Results: We provided with a pictorial review of 1) Paracondylar tubercle, 2) Unilateral PCP with cylindrical shape, 3) Unilateral PCP with pyramidal shape, 4) Unilateral PCP with lateral joint with transverse process, 5) Unilateral PCP with superior joint and partial fusion with transverse process, 6) Unilateral ETP with neo-condyle and joint with occipital condyle, 7) Unilateral ETP with joint with occipital bone, 8) Unilateral ETP with a bony bridge with lateral mass (ponticulus lateralis), and 9) Bilateral variation: paracondylar mass and ETP. Conclusions: Six figures were found in the selected literature and belong only to articles published in closed access. We provided with additional 41 open access freely available figures. We were first to present CBCT reference figures of: 1) Unilateral paracondylar tubercle, 2) Fusion of PCP with the transverse process of C1, 3) Joint between ETP and the lateral side of occipital condyle, and 4) Presence of bony bridge (ponticulus lateralis) between ETP and the lateral mass of C1. We were also first to describe a bilateral mixt variation with paracondylar mass on one side and ETP on the other side of C1. An open and accessible knowledge support (such as Nemesis journal) is needed to easily find clinical reference CBCT figures of craniocervicofacial bone variations.

We introduce general formulas for the upper bound of gain obtained from any finite-time trading strategy in discrete and continuous time models. We consider strategies with constant number of assets traded and strategies with proportional number of assets traded. Unfortunately, the estimates obtained in the discrete case become trivial in the continuous case, hence we introduce transaction costs. This leads to the interesting estimates in terms of the so called truncated variation of the price series. We apply the obtained estimates in specific cases of financial time series.

Opis:
Aging has profound effects on facial biometrics as it causes change in shape and texture. However, aging remains an under-studied problem in comparison to facial variations due to pose, illumination and expression changes. A commonly adopted solution in the state-of-the-art is the virtual template synthesis for aging and de-aging transformations involving complex 3D modelling techniques. These methods are also prone to estimation errors in the synthesis. Another viable solution is to continuously adapt the template to the temporal variation (ageing) of the query data. Though efficacy of template update procedures has been proven for expression, lightning and pose variations, the use of template update for facial aging has not received much attention so far. Therefore, this paper first analyzes the performance of existing baseline facial representations, based on local features, under ageing effect then investigates the use of template update procedures for temporal variance due to the facial age progression process. Experimental results on FGNET and MORPH aging database using commercial VeriLook face recognition engine demonstrate that continuous template updating is an effective and simple way to adapt to variations due to the aging process.

Opis:
Necessary and sufficient conditions are found for the exponential Orlicz norm (generated by $ψ_p(x) = exp(|x|^p)-1$ with 0 < p ≤ 2) of $max_{0≤t≤τ}|B_t|$ or $|B_τ|$ to be finite, where $B = (B_t)_{t≥0}$ is a standard Brownian motion and τ is a stopping time for B. The conditions are in terms of the moments of the stopping time τ. For instance, we find that $∥max_{0≤t≤τ}|B_t|∥_{ψ_1} < ∞$ as soon as $E(τ^{k}) = O(C^{k}k^{k})$ for some constant C > 0 as k → ∞ (or equivalently $∥τ∥_{ψ_1} < ∞$). In particular, if τ ∼ Exp(λ) or $|N(0,σ^2)|$ then the last condition is satisfied, and we obtain $∥max_{0≤t≤τ}|B_t|∥_{ψ_1} ≤ K √{E(τ)}$ with some universal constant K > 0. Moreover, this inequality remains valid for any class of stopping times τ for B satisfying $E(τ^{k}) ≤ C(Eτ)^{k}k^{k}$ for all k ≥ 1 with some fixed constant C > 0. The method of proof relies upon Taylor expansion, Burkholder-Gundy's inequality, best constants in Doob's maximal inequality, Davis' best constants in the $L^p$-inequalities for stopped Brownian motion, and estimates of the smallest and largest positive zero of Hermite polynomials. The results extend to the case of any continuous local martingale (by applying the time change method of Dubins and Schwarz).

Frequent crew rotation, a shorthand, and various levels of technical crew skills, are the facts with the ship-owners has to cope very often. Having the proper level of engine exploitation as a main objective is necessary to implement a constant engine monitoring system, in order to obtain quick and reliable diagnostic information. One cannot omit the financial aspect of monitoring system implementation, created by its price and costs of service. In this paper, the analysis of diagnostic utility of the signal deriving from a propulsion shaft fluctuation during its one revolution is presented. The angular speed of the shaft was measured using a laser sensor of torque meter ETNP-10. Diagnostic utility validation has been verified on a basis of combustion quality, in cylinders of two-stroke, turbocharged Marine Diesel Engine. Test was carried out on board of a container vessel during its sea passage. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the method, the crew simulated engine’s malfunction by fuel injection cut-off in various cylinders (only one in the same time). The interference signals decomposition was carried out using the method of synchronous averaging and moving approximation with polynomial of 3rd exponent.

Land-cover by land-use shows the influence of human on earth surface by different phenomena’s, ecological processes and human activities, its indication is a parameter of measurement how and with which extent the human influenced the natural surface with temporal variations. The change detection technique is used based upon the temporal observations from 2000 to 2015. Study area is one of the most populated city of Pakistan where industrial revolution is at its peak. The whole study area is categorized into four classes (i.e. Agricultural, Barren, Built-up and semi natural surfaces). The observational intervals were divided into three main classes i.e. 2000 to 2005, 2005 to 2010 and 2010 to 2015. Remarkable changes were occurred in built up area from 2000 to 2015 which is 38.6 % of total area, while the total change/decreased in barren land is -332 9(ha), similarly the Parks and grasses are also in decreasing extent and affect the local biodiversity and natural environment. The land cover is directly proportional to population expansion of urban city. For making the prediction of future urban expansion, previously occurred changes were aggregated to come up with a single value and then adding it to the recent land-use values. The mapping and analysis was undertaken through techniques of remote sensing and GIS, which proved to be very effective to measure the changes, and trend of changes with time, this mapping not only tells us the scale of change but, also tells us the patterns and the forces which causes these changes.

An inalienable property of the linguistic reality is the multi-language nature of the world and the multi-variation character of the ethnic-national communication space. As regards Polish pace, one can distinguish a series of axes around which the processes of long lasting concentrate. The author discusses the following five axes: (1) idiolectal (individual languages), (2) one determined by the dichotomy: spoken language – written language (contemporarily it assumes the form: spoken language – media language – written language), (3) one connected with the opposition: dialects – literary language (today in the form: dialects – mixed languages – general language), (4) functional variations (their ‘canonical’ series: colloquial language – scientific language – journalistic language – language of the administration – religious language – artistic language), and (5) one of three styles (high – medium – low).
