This article aims to explore the differences in the practices and perceptions of the diversity strategies in Saudi private organizations. It draws on quantitative analysis and data were collected through a convenient sampling method. The findings suggest that Saudi organizations pay great attention to preventing harassment, encouraging ethical behavior, and creating a diverse working environment, while the tested hypotheses confirmed that the diversity strategies practiced are significantly different from what they must practice. The sample organizations did not practice strategies such as providing work and family benefits, preventing unfair discrimination, creating a transparent working environment, providing training and development opportunities, supporting social events, or respecting employee opinion. The findings indicate that Saudi organizations must adopt strategies based on employees’ perceptions.
Celem tego artykułu jest zbadanie różnic w praktykach i postrzeganiu strategii różnorodności w saudyjskich organizacjach prywatnych. Badanie to opiera się na analizie ilościowej, a dane zebrano za pomocą wygodnej metody pobierania próbek. Sugeruje się, że organizacje saudyjskie przywiązują dużą wagę do zapobiegania molestowaniu, zachęcania do etycznych zachowań i tworzenia zróżnicowanego środowiska pracy, podczas gdy przetestowane hipotezy potwierdziły, że stosowane strategie różnorodności znacznie różnią się od tego, co jest praktykowane. Przykładowe organizacje nie stosowały strategii takich jak zapewnianie świadczeń pracowniczych i rodzinnych, zapobieganie nieuczciwej dyskryminacji, tworzeniu przejrzystego środowiska pracy, zapewniania możliwości szkolenia i rozwoju, wspierania imprez towarzyskich lub szanowanie opinii pracowników. Ustalenia wskazują, że organizacje saudyjskie muszą przyjąć strategie oparte na postrzeganiu pracowników.

This article seeks to examine the relationship between attachment styles in childhood and the development of eating disorders later in life. The assumption underlying the article is, the development of the social structure places considerable emphasis on eating as a way of socialization and a comfortable experience. A review of the research literature on the field documents a positive relationship between eating disorders, health problems and difficulties in family and interpersonal relationships.1 Therefore, it can be said that the assumption that the relationship between the attachment style of parents and children and eating is justified, since personal coping habits, especially attachment styles, are expressed to a certain extent in the specific eating behavior of the individual.

In this paper, we prove the existence and uniqueness of a positive solution for a boundary value problem of nonlinear fractional differential equations involving a Caputo fractional operator with integral boundary conditions. The technique used to prove our results depends on the upper and lower solution, the Schauder fixed point theorem and the Banach contraction principle. The result of existence obtained through constructing the upper and lower control functions of the nonlinear term without any monotone requirement.

Universities were founded around 1100 and retained their basic mission until mid 17th century when forward-looking research started to enter the institutions. In the mid 19th century when the US land grant institutions were created, universities added new areas of practical or applied research and community involvement. With global access to the Internet, a major moment in the 21st century is occurring that disrupts the very foundations of the academy and academics as independent institutions in all aspects, teaching, research and function in the community at large. No institution will remain unchanged; not all institutions will survive. This article discusses some of the changes occurring and the implications for the future of post-secondary education, globally.

Artykuł przedstawia zjawisko supremacji kozła ofiarnego w świetle antropologii René Girarda. Francuski uczony opisywał mechanizmy radzenia sobie z kryzysami i mechanizmy kanalizujące przemoc w społeczeństwach pierwotnych. Jego koncepcja pozwala – w pewnym zakresie – na zrozumienie współczesnych zachowań jednostokowych i społecznych obejmujących działania przemocowe oraz proces kreowania kozłów ofiarnych. Część teoretyczną prowadzonych analiz dopełniają wnioski wypływające z doświadczeń praktyków, m.in. pracowników socjalnych, psychologów i terapeutów. Na ich podstawie opisano i zdefiniowano zjawisko supremacji kozłów ofiarnych, czyli odgrywania specyficznych ról związanych z czerpaniem korzyści materialnych i pozamaterialnych z sytuacji bycia ofiarą.
The article presents the phenomenon of scapegoat supremacy in the light of René Girard’s anthropology. The French anthropologist described the mechanisms of dealing with crises and mechanisms channeling violence in primitive societies. To some extent, his conception also allows us to understand contemporary individual and social behaviours, including violence and the process of creating scapegoats. The theoretical part of the article is supplemented with conclusions drawn from practitioners’ experience (social workers, psychologists, therapists). These experiences underlie a description and definition of the phenomenon of scapegoat supremacy, highlighting how they play specific roles related to various benefits – both material and non-material – from the situation of being a victim.

Poruszając takie zagadnienia, jak: typy bibliotek we Włoszech i współpraca między nimi, normy prawne, którym podlegają, działalność bibliotek narodowych, stowarzyszenia bibliotekarskie, inicjatywy i projekty wykorzystujące w bibliotekarstwie najnowsze techniki informatyczne, podkreśla słabe i mocne strony bibliotekarstwa włoskiego i przywołuje refleksję: jaka jest rola bibliotek włoskich dziś, kiedy lata ich rozkwitu minęły, i czy są one w stanie sprostać wymaganiom współczesności.
For centuries, lands currently belonging to the Republic of Italy boasted the greatest and the most illustrious libraries in Europe. From the Middle Ages to Renaissance, they developed extensively and were dominant in the Old World. The present article, however, concentrates on modern Italian libraries and provides an extensive review of their functioning today. The following issues are covered in the discussion: types of libraries and their cooperation, legal circumstances, the activity of national libraries, library associations and their initiatives and projects aimed at utilization of state-of-the-art IT infrastructures in librarianship. The article also emphasizes strong and weak points of Italian librarianship and ponders on the following: What is the role of Italian libraries today when they are evidently past their prime times? Can the libraries in question meet the requirements of modern times?

This contribution deals with the current issue of emotional problems and disorders of pupils at primary school from the point of view of the specific tasks and their solutions (prevention, diagnostics, counselling, intervention). Background: The logistic systems are very complex socio-technical systems. In this paper the proposal of application of the hierarchical multi-layers system platform HILS approach for the solution of the complex vehicle routing problems is presented. The interactive system functional structure was proposed which by intelligent dedicated inter-layers interactions enables the professional solutions of these practical problems. To illustrate these capabilities the complex example of the real-time VRP-SPD-TW routing problem was presented in which upper layers offers the context-related real-time updating network specifications that stimulates the adequate routing parameters and specifications updating for problem solution in optimization layer. At the bottom dispatching control layer the DISCON (Dispatching CONtrol) method from public transport was adopted to logistics applications in which the actual routing is treated as obligatory reference schedule to be stabilized. The intelligence aspects are related among others to HILS based decomposition, context-related trade-offs between routing modifications and corrective dispatching control capabilities e.g. priority or route guidance actions. Methods: Decomposition of the vehicle routing problem for the HILS layers tasks creating the ILS system hierarchical structure. Dedicated solution method for the VRP-SPD-TW routing problem. The recognition of the control preferences structure by AHP-Entropy methods. DISCON and PIACON multi-criteria interacting control methods. Results: Original formulation and solution of the vehicle routing problem by system-wide approach with essential practical advantages: consistency, lack of redundancy, essential reduction of dimension, dedicated formulation, multi-criteria approach, exploration of the integration and intelligence features supported by the intelligent PIACON-DISCON methods control activities Conclusions: The presented proposal creates the professional approach to the solution of the crucial problems in logistics systems with the implementation of modern tools and enabling technologies.
Wstęp: Zastosowano hierarchiczną wielowarstwową platformę systemową HILS do rozwiązywania złożonych problemów wyboru tras dla pojazdów logistycznych. Metody: Dekompozycja problemu wyboru tras na zadania warstw systemowych tworzących hierarchiczną strukturę ILS systemu. Dedykowana metoda rozwiązania problemu wyboru tras dla problemu VRP-SPD-TW . Metody rozpoznawania struktury preferencji sterowania wielokryterialnego AHP - Entropia. DISCON i PIACON metody optymalnego sterowania dyspozytorskiego i ruchu indywidualnego jedno/wielokryterialne. Wyniki: Sformułowano i rozwiązano oryginalny problem wyboru tras przy pomocy podejścia systemowego oferującego istotne zalety praktyczne, redukcja wymiarowości i redundancji, systemowe wielo-kryterialne podejście, eksploracja cech integracji i inteligencji wspomaganej inteligentnymi działaniami sterującymi. Wnioski: Proponowane podejście stanowi profesjonalne rozwiązanie kluczowych problemów spotykanych w systemach logistycznych z wykorzystaniem nowoczesnych narzędzi i technologii umożliwiających.

Last global financial-economic crisis started at the end of 2007 has affected a large number of countries. The crisis, which arose initially in developed countries, was sharply transferred to countries with economies in transition. Thus, the modern economic and financial crisis of the post-Soviet countries came from the outside. The current crisis has shown the pros and cons of the process of economic globalization. The authors examined the problem of intra-regional channels of crisis dissemination, as well as the strengths and weaknesses of national economies, and establishes the degree of involvement of these economies in the globalization process and determines the level of risk associated with this process. The crisis was evaluated based on the performance of the economy of a single country
Ostatni światowy kryzys finansowo-gospodarczy, który rozpoczął się pod koniec 2007 roku wpłynął na wiele krajów. Kryzys, który powstał początkowo w państwach rozwiniętych, szybko rozprzestrzenił się do krajów o gospodarkach w okresie przejściowym, takich jak postsowieckie. Obecny kryzys tych państw wykazał wady i zalety procesu globalizacji ekonomicznej. Autorzy artykułu zbadali problem wewnątrzregionalnych kanałów rozpowszechniania się kryzysu, a także mocnych i słabych stron gospodarek krajowych. Przedstawili także stopień zaangażowania tych gospodarek w procesie globalizacji, jak również poziom ryzyka związanego z tym procesem. Kryzys był badany na podstawie wyników gospodarczych jednego państwa.

The present article analyses the electoral programmes of the Polish political parties, depicting economic postulates and paying special attention to declaratios (proposals) of innovations in economy. The analysis embrances the years 1989--2005. The present analysis focuses on the electoral programmes of the greatest political parties, especially those that have impact on the creation of the image of the Polish economy. The reality shows what kind of economic system was pictured and what kind of it was in fact created in Poland.

There has been recently a change of paradigms in the academic literature on the historical trajectory of the new member states (NMS). It has been in the last years switching from the success stories to the danger of peripherialization what I call the Rocky Road of Europeanization. Instead of positive evaluations of the first ten years in the EU, more and more “balanced,” “mixed” or even negative evaluations have appeared. These evaluations have been based on the huge datasets of the international ranking institutions like the Bertelsmann Foundation, The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), Freedom House, IMF, OECD, Open Society Institute and World Economic Forum. The huge datasets have facilitated the elaboration of the conceptual turning point in the evaluations of the NMS historical trajectory. This theoretical paper-relying on the above datasets-deals with the controversial development of democratization in NMS in the Quarter-Century of systemic change and after Ten Years of the EU membership. It tries to elaborate a new conceptual framework on the decline of the top-down democracy, leading to democracy capture or façade democracy, and on the return to the participatory democratization as a bottom-up process.

In this paper we consider stochastic differential equations on Banach spaces (not Hilbert). The system is semilinear and the principal operator generating a C₀-semigroup is perturbed by a class of bounded linear operators considered as feedback operators from an admissible set. We consider the corresponding family of measure valued functions and present sufficient conditions for weak compactness. Then we consider applications of this result to several interesting optimal feedback control problems. We present results on existence of optimal feedback operators.

The purpose of this paper is to develop a new constructionist perspective on path-dependence of a social problem by examining the process of constructing issues regarding the revisions of the Tokyo Youth Protection Ordinance from December 2008 to July 2010. I start with pointing out that a social problem has a cycle of concern and a unique past and background, in a word, path-dependence. Once a social problem process has started down a track, the costs of reversal are very high. Through investigating the revision process between pro-regulation and anti-regulation groups compared with the previous arguments, I found three characteristics of arguments: the limited use of statistics, shared grounds, and shared warrants. I interpret the features as an unintended consequence of path-dependence of the pornocomic problem. This context limits the course of claims-making activities and affects the following controversy. I conclude that the concept of path-dependence offers a better understanding of how and why claims-making activities sometimes lose their diversity and are lopsided over time.

Concept. COVID-19 has pressed the need for social distancing that was unprecedentedly invoked across societies during the pandemic. The governments that launched emergency steps to divert physical learning systems into online pedagogical alternatives created critical possibilities and adverse challenges for both tutors and learners. The study aims to review several cases concluding that the closure of schools and colleges has impacted around 94% of the student population across globe. The present study tries to comprehend the transformation (both expansion and constraints) in the pedagogical processes comparing results and feedback from both developed and developing nations. Result and Discussion. The study made a far-reaching analysis on the sweeping impact of COVID-19 at the integrative three-tier educational level i.e., primary, secondary and higher education in two separate perspectives i.e., teachers and learners. The restrictive movement policies adopted by governments have changed the conventional (face-to-face) educational practices. The findings suggest that different populations faced different problems during the pandemic because of number of reasons which is discussed and highlighted in the study. Originality. In order to map efficacy and efficiency, the principles, difficulties, and praxis of online educational pedagogy have been comprehensively examined in the study. The key contribution of the research is the result claiming the potential of technology as well as the obstacles faced by students while learning, due to digital mechanisms.

Opis:
This article presents a new efficient optimization technique namely the Multi- Objective Improved Differential Evolution Algorithm (MOIDEA) to solve the multiobjective optimal power flow problem in power systems. The main features of the Differential Evolution (DE) algorithm are simple, easy, and efficient, but sometimes, it is prone to stagnation in the local optima. This paper has proposed many improvements, in the exploration and exploitation processes, to enhance the performance of DE for solving optimal power flow (OPF) problems. The main contributions of the DE algorithm are i) the crossover rate will be changing randomly and continuously for each iteration, ii) all probabilities that have been ignored in the crossover process have been taken, and iii) in selection operation, the mathematical calculations of the mutation process have been taken. Four conflicting objective functions simultaneously have been applied to select the Pareto optimal front for the multi-objective OPF. Fuzzy set theory has been used to extract the best compromise solution. These objective functions that have been considered for setting control variables of the power system are total fuel cost (TFC), total emission (TE), real power losses (RPL), and voltage profile (VP) improvement. The IEEE 30-bus standard system has been used to validate the effectiveness and superiority of the approach proposed based on MATLAB software. Finally, to demonstrate the effectiveness and capability of the MOIDEA, the results obtained by this method will be compared with other recent methods.
