In this note we show that given an indeterminate Hamburger moment sequence, it is possible to perturb the first moment in such way that the obtained sequence remains an indeterminate Hamburger moment sequence. As a consequence we prove that every sequence of real numbers is a moment sequence for a signed discrete measure supported in $ \mathbb{R}_+ $.

Motivated by applications, we consider new operator-theoretic approaches to conditional mean embedding (CME). Our present results combine a spectral analysis-based optimization scheme with the use of kernels, stochastic processes, and constructive learning algorithms. For initially given non-linear data, we consider optimization-based feature selections. This entails the use of convex sets of kernels in a construction of optimal feature selection via regression algorithms from learning models. Thus, with initial inputs of training data (for a suitable learning algorithm), each choice of a kernel K in turn yields a variety of Hilbert spaces and realizations of features. A novel aspect of our work is the inclusion of a secondary optimization process over a specified convex set of positive definite kernels, resulting in the determination of “optimal” feature representations.

This research paper deals with self-confidence and how the application of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) technique, six-step reframing, plays a crucial role in students' self-confidence in the English as a foreign language (EFL) classroom. It analyses the eefctiveness of incorporating NLP six-step reframing on students' self-confidence levels across diefrent age groups, cultural backgrounds, and academic setings. This provides an opportunity for learners to gain self-confidence, helping them to truly believe in themselves, and allowing them to feel 'seen, heard, and understood'. Reframing, drawing from Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), enables learners to see mistakes as an integral parts of learning process and also helps to refine their skills which are crucial for language acquisition. The research includes sixty-six students who diefr based on criteria such as age, cultural backgrounds, and learning experience. Quantitative methods through questionnaires and qualitative methods, through observation and interviews, have been helpful in conducting this research paper. The results have shown a significant eefct of incorporating NLP's six-step reframing within the pedagogical framework, shedding light on its potential to empower students' self-confidence challenges commonly encountered in language learning environments. The study has shown that, even students encounter dificulties or setbacks in language learning, the incorporation of six-step reframing technique has proven to be a transformative approach. By systematically identifying dissatisfaction, establishing clear signals, alternative behaviors, eliciting positive intentions, and encouraging students' self-confidence in learning a foreign language. This psychological tool not only contributes to language proficiency but also empowers students to navigate the complexities of the EFL classroom with confidence and adaptability.

Football hooliganism represents a complex socio-political phenomenon with varying degrees of occurrence and severity in different regions worldwide. The article explores the multifaceted motivation, manifestations, and prevention strategies of hooliganism, drawing on literary sources, political documents, published research, and personal experiences in social work and match attendance. From the historical roots of hooliganism to its current manifestations, including its political dimensions and the dynamics of digital communication, the article provides a thematic analysis of the motivation and expressions of football hooliganism. Furthermore, it addresses strategies for the prevention and elimination of football hooliganism, including efforts to enforce laws, corrective measures, community interventions, and preventive social work. By addressing the challenges posed by football hooliganism, the authors aim to contribute to the development of effective strategies to combat this societal issue.
Chuligaństwo piłkarskie to złożone zjawisko społeczno-polityczne o różnym stopniu występowania i nasileniu w różnych regionach świata. W artykule omówiono wieloaspektowe motywacje, przejawy i strategie zapobiegania chuligaństwu, opierając się na źródłach literackich, dokumentach politycznych, opublikowanych badaniach oraz osobistych doświadczeniach związanych z pracą społeczną i frekwencją na meczach. Artykuł zawiera analizę tematyczną motywacji i przejawów chuligaństwa piłkarskiego od jego historycznych korzeni po jego współczesne przejawy, w tym jego wymiar polityczny i dynamikę komunikacji cyfrowej. Ponadto omówiono strategie zapobiegania i eliminowania chuligaństwa w piłce nożnej, w tym wysiłki na rzecz egzekwowania prawa, środki naprawcze, interwencje społeczne i prewencyjną pracę socjalną. Odnosząc się do wyzwań, jakie stwarza chuligaństwo w piłce nożnej, celem autorów jest przyczynienie się do opracowania skutecznych strategii zwalczania tego problemu społecznego.

We present some sufficient conditions for the existence of positive solutions to a third order differential equation subject to nonlocal boundary conditions. Our approach is based on the Krasnosel’skiĭ-Guo fixed point theorem in cones and the properties of the Green’s function corresponding to the BVP under study. Kontekstem dla odpowiedzi na postawione pytanie powinny być równolegle dookreślane role innych członków wspólnoty – mężczyzn, księży, sióstr zakonnych. I oczywiście pozostaje kwestia, po co pytanie zostaje zadane i czy odpowiedź jest spójna z tą udzielaną w praktyce życia.
The question about the role of a woman in the Church is asked in the context of the world and triggers its problems. And the modern world has difficulty accepting roles, requirements and interdependence, but also in appreciating every day, arduous effort aimed at the common good. The context for answering the question should also be the parallel definition of the roles of other members of the community - men, priests, nuns. And of course, there remains the question of why the question is asked and whether the answer is consistent with the one given in real life.

This paper contributes to the growing body of literature exploring the ramifications of AI-driven technological singularity and its economic implications. The exploration unfolds in three key segments. First, it sheds light on the concepts of artificial general intelligence (AGI), AI superintelligence, and singularity itself. Subsequently, it discusses the AI alignment problem, addressing the potential outcomes of superintelligent AI on human civilisation. Further, Giddens’ structuration theory is used to highlight the prominent role of AI-based “authoritative resources” in determining the allocation of resources and ensuring distributive justice in a techno-utopian society. The paper also explores the idea of utopia and the “end of history” and concludes with the suggestion that achieving a technological utopia with superintelligent AI is a mechanism design problem.
Niniejszy artykuł stanowi wkład w rosnącą literaturę poświęconą konsekwencjom technologicznym osobliwości napędzanej przez sztuczną inteligencję (SI) i jej skutkom gospodarczym. Analiza skupia się na trzech kluczowych aspektach. Po pierwsze, uwagę poświęcono koncepcji ogólnej sztucznej inteligencji (AGI), superinteligencji AI i samej osobliwości. Następnie omówiono problem dostosowania SI, odnosząc się do potencjalnych skutków superinteligentnej SI dla ludzkiej cywilizacji. Wykorzystując teorię strukturacji Giddensa, podkreślono także znaczącą rolę „autorytatywnych zasobów” opartych na sztucznej inteligencji w określaniu alokacji zasobów i zapewnianiu sprawiedliwości dystrybucyjnej w społeczeństwie technoutopijnym. W artykule przeanalizowano również ideę utopii i „końca historii”, a we wnioskach zasugerowano, że osiągnięcie technologicznej utopii z superinteligentną sztuczną inteligencją stanowi problem projektowania mechanizmów.

The median location problem concerns finding locations of one or several new facilities that minimize the overall weighted distances from the existing to the new facilities. We address the problem of locating one new facility with a radius r on networks. Furthermore, the radius r is flexible and the objective function is the conic combination of the traditional 1-median function and the value r. We call this problem an extensive 1-median problem with radius on networks. To solve the problem, we first induce the so-called finite dominating set, that contains all points on the underlying network and radius values which are candidate for the optimal solution of the problem. This helps to develop a combinatorial algorithm that solves the problem on a general network G = (V,E) in O(|E||V|3) time. We also consider the underlying problem with improved algorithm on trees. Based the convexity of the objective function with variable radius, we develop a linear time algorithm to find an extensive 1-median with radius on the underlying tree.

W artykule przedstawiono koncepcje świata VUCA i występujących w takim świecie problemów bezpieczeństwa oraz wskazano na pewne implikacje tych koncepcji dla zarządzania tymi problemami. W pierwszej części artykułu zidentyfikowano cechy charakterystyczne świata VUCA jako zespołu czynników kształtujących środowiska zagrożeń dla bezpieczeństwa. Następnie omówiono, w jaki sposób czynniki te oddziałują na siebie i wpływają na bezpieczeństwo środowisk organizacyjnych i społecznych. W drugiej części opracowania dokonano klasyfikacji i charakterystyki problemów bezpieczeństwa oraz omówiono trudności związane z ich rozwiązywaniem. W trzeciej części przedstawiono niektóre stwarzane przez VUCA wyzwania i wymagania związane ze zrozumieniem złożoności bezpieczeństwa i zarządzania bezpieczeństwem.
The article presents the concepts of the VUCA world and security problems occurring in such a world, indicates some implications of these concepts for the management of security problems. The article first identifies the characteristics of the VUCA world as a set of factors shaping security threat environments, discusses how these factors interact with each other and affect the security environment. In its second part the article classifies and characterizes safety problems and the difficulties associated with solving them. The third part of the article presents some of the challenges and requirements posed by VUCA in understanding the complexity of security and safety management.

Opis:
A boundary value problem for a non-linear difference equation of order three is considered. We show that this equation can be interpreted as the equation satisfied by the value function in a stochastic optimal control problem. We thus obtain an expression for the solution of the non-linear difference equation that can be used to find an explicit solution to this equation. An example is presented.

We study the behavior of a collapsible tube conveying a fluid subject to external pressure that could occur in many physiological applications. The method of rotating spines is developed to enable an automatic mesh adaptation when the tube is deformed largely. We examine bifurcation diagrams when the tube is collapsed under a pressure driven condition and reveal that multiple solutions exist for a range of the Reynolds number. The stability characteristic of the system is discovered by determining stability of these solutions by the eigenvalue method for the first time, which is validated by solving a time-dependent problem of the system.

The article is a proposal for educating students as part of the course titled “Bilingualism and speech‑language diagnostics and therapy” implemented at the MA speech‑language pathology studies at the Faculty of Polish Studies of the Jagiellonian University. The author presents in detail the learning goals and curriculum content, starting from the introduction of the theoretical implications of bilingualism and ending with case studies of bilingual children solved by students. The text also emphasises the use of problem‑based learning (PBL) and student‑centred learning (SCL) in the classroom.

The purpose of this paper was to investigate in practice the possibility of using evolutionary algorithms to solve the traveling salesman problem on a real example. The goal was achieved by developing an original implementation of the evolutionary algorithm in Python, and by preparing an example of the traveling salesman problem in the form of a directed graph representing Polish voivodship cities. As part of the work an application in Python was written. It provides a user interface which allows to set selected parameters of the evolutionary algorithm and solve the prepared problem. The results are presented in both text and graphical form. The correctness of the evolutionary algorithm's operation and the implementation was confirmed by performed tests. A large number of tested solutions (2500) and the analysis of the obtained results allowed for a conclusion that an optimal (relatively suboptimal) solution was found.
