Opis:
Because of new EU laws restricting the use of harmful substances (i.e. Pb because of the RoHS Directive), the search for new methods of joining has become highly urgent. The main problem for most solutions known to date has been to achieve good electrical parameters while maintaining low sintering temperaturatures. Pastes based on silver nanoparticles were developed, which allow to sinter below 300 ° C. Those layers have sheet resistance below 2 mΩ/sq. Low exposure to heat allows to use these pastes on elastic substrates such as paper or Kapton foil. In present work, the authors proved that it is possible to obtain joints on elastic substrates which can withstand over 30 000 cycles in bend test, with sintering in 300°C, by means of the Low Temperature Joining Technique (LTJT).

Opis:
In this paper the properties of the austenitic stainless steel reinforced with various volume fractions of TiB2 ceramics have been studied. The high pressure- high temperature (HP-HT) method of sintering was applied to the formation of composites. Samples were sintered at pressure of 5 and 7 ±0.2 GPa and temperatures of 1273 K and 1573 K. For the tested materials, the relative density, Young’s modulus and hardness were measured. In order to investigate the structure changes, the scanning electron microscope was used. The obtained results show that the temperature and pressure influence on the mechanical and physical properties of the investigated composites.
W prezentowanej pracy zbadano właściwości stali austenitycznej z różnym udziałem objętościowym ceramiki TiB2. Do wytworzenia spieków kompozytowych proszków zastosowano spiekanie wysokociśnieniowe HP-HT.

Opis:
The article presents the results of tests carried out on the manufactured composite materials based on a two-phase NiAl/Ni3Al matrix, which was enriched with the addition of TiB2 ceramic particles added in an amount of 4 and 7 vol%. The resulting mixtures were sintered by the High Pressure High Temperature (HP-HT) process. The results were compared to the results obtained for the sole matrix material produced under the same conditions. It has been shown that, at a lower density, the addition of reinforcing particles increases the composite hardness, Young’s modulus and resistance to frictional wear. However, higher addition of TiB2 (7 vol%) was observed to yield less satisfactory results, and despite higher hardness and lower density caused a decrease in other properties tested. The produced materials were characterized by a compact and highly differentiated microstructure free from any noticeable cracks and pores.

Opis:
An optimum route to fabricate the Ni-based superalloy with homogeneous dispersion of Y2O3 particles is investigated. Ni-based ODS powder was prepared by high-energy ball milling of gas-atomized alloy powders and Y2O3 particles treated with a high-pressure homogenizer. Decrease in particle size and improvement of dispersion stability were observed by high-pressure homogenization of as-received Y2O3 particles, presumably by the powerful cavitation forces and by collisions of the particles. Microstructural analysis for the ball-milled powder mixtures reveal that Ni-based ODS powders prepared from high-pressure homogenization of Y2O3 particles exhibited more fine and uniform distribution of Ni and Y elements compared to the as-received powder. These results suggested that high-pressure homogenization process is useful for producing Ni-based superalloy with homogeneously dispersed oxide particles.

The objective of the present research is to develop a novel lubricant for Al-Cu-Mg P/M alloy and to address the effects of the lubricant and compaction pressure on sintered properties. A lubricant mixture consisting of Ethylene Bis Stearamide, Zn-Stearate, and fatty acid was newly developed in this study, and the de-lubrication behavior was compared with that of other commercial lubricants, such as Ethylene Bis Stearamide, Zn-Stearate, and Al-Stearate. Density and transverse rupture strength of sintered materials with each lubricant were examined, respectively. The microstructural analysis was conducted using optical microscope.

Opis:
The properties of mineral matter occurs in coal in the form of inorganic compounds leads to slagging and fouling process on boiler heating surfaces, burners and ash hopper. The deposition of ash cause many undesirable phenomena such as heat transfer deterioration, damage to internal parts of the boiler as a result of detachment of large agglomerates and finally, costly shutdowns of the boiler. Standardized method of risk assessment of agglomerates formation and sintered fly ash is determined by four melting temperatures of ash. This measurement is based on visual appraisal of ash sample deformation which is subjective and strongly depends on the experience of the person conducting the test. Especially is hard predict the first two temperatures: deformation and sintering. An article has to present three non-standardized methods for determining the sintering temperature by using physical parameters: pressure drop and minimum force of probe destruction. This type of measurement allows a quantitative way to obtain reliable and meaningful result. The experiment showed that the results of non-standard methods deviate from those set using the Leitz method. This allows to conclude that sintering processes occur at much lower temperatures and changing the shape of the initial (test method Leitz) is not the first symptom of demonstrating the melting of the ash.

Opis:
The liquid phase sintering characteristics of Al-Cu-Zn alloy were investigated with respect to various powder metallurgy processing conditions. Powders of each alloying elements were blended to form Al-6Cu-5Zn composition and compacted with pressures of 200, 400, and 600 MPa. The sintering process was performed at various temperatures of 410, 560, and 615°C in N2 gas atmosphere. Density and micro-Vickers hardness measurements were conducted at different processing stages, and transverse rupture strength of sintered materials was examined for each condition, respectively. The microstructure was characterized using optical microscope and scanning electron microscopy. The effect of Zn addition on the liquid phase sintering behavior during P/M process of the Al-Cu-Zn alloy was also discussed in detail.
