    Opis:
    The pregnancy means for woman an intensive process and it needs our interest. The maternal organism is adapted to changes in bio-psycho-social sphere and a new human being develops during the pregnancy. Aim: We found out and compared satisfaction of pregnant women’s behaviour and the quality of their attention for activities which improving conditions in pregnancy and securing health development of their child. Subjects and Methods: Our research was based on a random sample of respondents. The study included 277 respondents. They were separated into two files – puerperas and midwives. For each group of respondents was used method of questionnaires. Data were statistically processing. Results: We found out, that the satisfaction of pregnant women’s behaviour and the quality of their attention for activities which improving conditions in pregnancy was acceptable. Some deficiencies were found. Conclusion: We suggest to increase the quality of services to improve the pregnant women’s behaviour and to contribute for standards of European Union by improving our services and by continuous educating of women. We suggest to motivate pregnant women to responsible behaviour during pregnancy and to create conditions for health development of their prenatal child.

    Łacińska nazwa hospitium, pochodzi od słowa hospes, oznaczającego osobę udzielającą gościny i gospodarza. Z czasem zaczęto odnosić ją do miejsc, w których obejmowano opieką nieuleczalnie chorych. W średniowieczu taką opiekę, zwłaszcza nad chorymi ubogimi, pełniły zgromadzenia zakonne. Do powstania wielu przytułków i schronisk przyczyniły się również powszechna w tamtym okresie praktyka pielgrzymek do odległych miejsc uznawanych za święte, a także krucjaty organizowane w latach 1095-1270. W wielu miejscach przyjmowano z czasem nie tylko pielgrzymów, ale także chorych, którym wykonywano proste zabiegi opiekuńczo-lecznicze. Dopiero w wieku XIX zaczęły powstawać pierwsze domy opieki skierowane do umierających. Prekursorką z tej dziedzinie była Cicely Saunders, założycielka pierwszego współczesnego hospicjum w 1967 roku w Londynie. W Polsce ruch hospicyjny w roku 1964 zapoczątkowała Hanna Chrzanowska. W latach 80. i 90. XX wieku nastąpił dynamiczny rozwój ruchu hospicyjnego. Stopniowo powstawało coraz więcej placówek ukierunkowanych na dzieci. W XXI wieku w związku ze znacznym postępem w zakresie diagnostyki prenatalnej, zaczęto otwierać ośrodki opieki paliatywno-hospicyjnej obejmującej integralną opieką dzieci, u których zdiagnozowano ciężką i nieuleczalną chorobę w okresie prenatalnym oraz ich rodziców.
    The latin word hospitium, derived from hospes, originally meant a person granting hospitality, and/or a host. With the passage of time it begans to apply it to the places where embracing care of incurable patients. In medieval times the care of the sick, especially the poor sick, was performed by various congregations. An increase number of refuges and shelters was caused by common pilgrimage movement and crusades in the years 10951270. It was only in the nineteenth century that the first houses focused on the dying were built. The forerunner in this field was Cicely Saunders, the founder of the first hospice in the world in 1967 in London. In Poland, Hanna Chrzanowska started the hospice movement in 1964. In the 80s and 90s, there has been a significant development of the hospice movement. Also more and more hospices were dedicated exclusively for children. In the twenty first century due to significant advances in the prenatal diagnosis new centers of perinatal palliative care began to open which were focused on the children in prenatal stage and their family.

    Opis:
    Ensuring a man's health and fulfillment in the proper way requires surrounding him with love. Responsible care for the offspring should go before the conception, should accompany it in the prenatal period and be present at the further stages of its development. The attitude of planning the family is an expression of such care; the planning should aim at conceiving each child in the most favorable time; the child should be longed-for and loved from the beginning. True love not only does not harm anybody (cf. Rom 13, 10), but protects against any pathology, and cures the inflicted wounds. Expressing love in an adequate way requires learning proper ways to communicate it. Love and responsibility condition man's sound development and are a manifestation of mature attitudes, as they result from the basic imperative inscribed in human nature by God (DCE 31). Such attitudes also constitute a necessary condition for a proper family to exist. A human person's dignity obliges one to assume proper attitudes towards everyone, and the features that are inscribed in the fact that one is a human being make it possible to undertake responsible acts resulting from authentic love. The need of such acts and the tasks connected with this need should be realized especially by people who are being prepared for contracting marriage and for parenthood, so that every human being coming to this world could be surrounded with responsible care on the side of his parents.

    Opis:
    The article focuses upon the phenomenon of motherhood within international and European legal contexts. The initial remarks concern the analysis of motherhood as an activity deeply rooted in interpersonal relations, in accordance with the feminist theory of care. Relevant human rights provisions dealing with motherhood are identified, and the scope of mothers’ legal entitlements and public authorities’ duties is analyzed. Selected case-law of the European courts is presented, in order to identify the obligations of public authorities related to providing support to the relationship between mother and child. The selection of cases is based upon their impact on bioethics, healthcare, and medical services. Therefore, the overall goal is to examine the hypothesis of prospective correspondence or lack of correspondence between the provisions of human rights treaties on motherhood (law in books) and courts’ adjudication (law in action). In the final part of the article concluding remarks and observations are offered.

Osobowa godność człowieka, potrzeby dziecka i społeczeństwa oraz umiejętności poznawcze dojrzałych osób dorosłych skłaniają do postawienia wymagań odpowiedzialnego przekazywania życia.
    Procreative responsibility includes a conscious, competent and well prepared conception of a child, taken in the most appropriate time and in freedom and care of the child's health as well as proper conditions for the development. The responsibility involves the awareness women's and men's procreative capabilities, the ability to recognize fertile and infertile days and keeping prudence in sexual behaviour and procreative intentions. A manifestation of procreative responsibility is planning fertility with consideration for health, material, residential, occupational; moral and religious context of family planning as well as present social and demographical situation. It is also a positive attitude towards parenthood and the readiness for accepting a child and engaging in preconception and prenatal care. Personal dignity of human being and cognitive skills of mature adults induce to setting requirements for responsible human procreation.

    Cel – celem artykułu jest scharakteryzowanie, jak w okresie 2017-2021 były realizowane świadczenia z zakresu opieki zdrowotnej nad kobietą w okresie ciąży, porodu i połogu z uwzględnieniem opieki nad noworodkiem. Metoda – analizowano dane ze sprawozdań Rady Ministrów z wykonywania oraz o skutkach stosowania ustawy o planowaniu rodziny, ochronie płodu ludzkiego i warunkach dopuszczalności przerywania ciąży oraz dane demograficzne opublikowane przez Główny Urząd Statystyczny. Wyniki – wykazano, że w okresie 2017–2021 r. malała liczb kobiet, które otrzymały świadczenie określone poradą udzieloną w ciąży. Wzrósł natomiast udział w ogólnej liczbie porodów tych zarejestrowanych jako koordynowana opieka nad ciężarną I [KOC I], choć ostatecznie stanowiły one niewielki ułamek liczby porodów w kraju. Wyższy i rosnący z roku na rok udział w liczbie porodów miały te realizowane jako KOC II/III. Rosła także liczba pacjentów dziecięcej opieki koordynowanej, świadczeń z zakresu perinatalnej opieki paliatywnej oraz udział wśród ciężarnych uczestniczek Programu badań prenatalnych. Jednocześnie dostęp do wymienionych świadczeń był uwarunkowany miejscem zamieszkania potencjalnego pacjenta, skoro odpowiedni świadczeniodawcy byli tylko w części województw, względnie jak w Programie badań prenatalnych uzyskanie świadczenia uzależniono od spełniania ścisłych warunków. Konkluzja – potrzebne jest zwiększenie dostępności do analizowanych świadczeń przez wprowadzenie świadczeniodawców w województwach, w których ich brak. Potrzebne jest także umożliwienie udziału w Programie badań prenatalnych wszystkim zainteresowanym ciężarnym, bez konieczności spełniania dodatkowych warunków.
    Purpose – the aim of the article is to describe health care services for women during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period, including newborn care, provided in the period 2017–2021. Method – the analyses included data from the Council of Ministers’ reports on the implementation and effects of the application of the Act on Family Planning, Protection of the Human Foetus and Conditions for Termination of Pregnancy, as well as demographic data published by the Statistics Poland. Results – it was shown that in the period 2017– 2021, the number of women who received the service specified in the advice given during pregnancy decreased. However, the share of births registered as coordinated care for pregnant women I (KOC I) [pl. Koordynowana Opieka nad Ciężarną] in the total number of births increased, although ultimately they constituted a small percentage of the number of births in the country. Births carried out as KOC II/III had a higher and growing share in the number of births each year. The number of patients receiving coordinated children's care, perinatal palliative care services, and the number of pregnant participants in the Prenatal Testing Program also increased. At the same time, access to the above-mentioned services depended on the place of residence of the potential patient, since relevant service providers were available only in some voivodships, or, as in the Prenatal Testing Program, obtaining the service depended on meeting strict conditions. Conclusion – it is necessary to increase the availability of the analysed services by introducing service providers in voivodeships where they are lacking. It is also necessary to enable all interested pregnant women to participate in the Prenatal Testing Program without having to meet additional conditions.

    Introduction. Adverse pregnancy outcomes are less common among physically active women, and children born to such mothers are less likely to be at risk for macrosomia, obesity and metabolic diseases in the future. Objectives. The aims of the study were to establish physical activity (PA) patterns among pregnant women in the third trimester, and to determine the attitudes of prenatal care providers to maternal PA during pregnancy. Materials and method. The study was conducted in 2017 using surveys from the Polish Pregnancy-related Assessment Monitoring System program (Pol-PrAMS). The study included 3,451 postpartum women. The Pregnancy Physical Activity Questionnaire was used to investigate their PA. This part of Pol-PrAMS study was completed by 2,744 postpartum women who were subjected to statistical analysis. Results. Sedentary or light physical activity comprised 75% of the overall PA in the third trimester of pregnancy (mean values of energy expenditure: 67 and 93.3 MET-h/week, respectively). Household or caregiving activities accounted for almost 50% of all activities and were the most common PA types (mean energy expenditure: 105 MET-h/week). Restriction of PA in pregnancy was reported by over 60% of the women, most often due to concerns over proper foetal development. Over 85% of prenatal care providers either did not address the issue of PA with the future mothers at all, or recommended PA restriction. Conclusions. Sedentary and light-intensity PA are the two predominant types of physical activity in the third trimester. The most energy-consuming tasks involve household and caregiving activities. Restriction of activity was reported by the majority of the respondents. Prenatal care providers either did not address the matter of PA in pregnancy or recommended PA restriction.

    Objective: We found out the opinions and attitudes of the pregnant women to the quality level of courses of a psychophysical preparation. We also found out how many medical professions led the courses and which professions were being preferred by the women. subjects and Methods: Our research was based on a random sample of respondents. The study included 277 respondents. They were divided in to two groups – puerperas and midwives. For each group of respondents was used method of questionnaires. The results were being processed through a statistic program SPSS, version 14.0 on the base of mathematic – statistic methods (arithmetic average calculation, result of Chi-square test, Crombach coeffient Alfa). results: We found out, that the biggest attention was being paid in the courses to breast feeding, childbirth mechanism and particular childbirth phases. Psychoprophylactic preparation courses play an important role in preparation of pregnant women to the childbirth in physical, psychic and a social sphere. Opinions about course leading were diffrent in each group of respondents – puerperas prefer a physician and midwife in leading the course. conclusion: We recommend to synchronize the knowledge in the education content not only from a medical aspect but also from a psychological and social aspect. In the aspect of law we also recommend to solve providing services in the psychoprophylactic preparation courses to be lead obligatory for every pregnant woman by the midwives with a certifiate. We suggest to regularize by-law to be courses of psychophysical preparation paid by an insurance company.
    Celem badania było poznanie opinii i postaw kobiet w ciąży do poziomu jakości kursów przygotowania psychofiycznego. Okazało się też, jak wiele zawodów medycznych prowadziło tego typu kursy i przedstawiciele których zawodów byli preferowani przez kobiety. tematy i metody: Badania przeprowadzono na podstawie losowo wybranych respondentów. Badaniem objęto 277 respondentów. Zostali oni podzieleni na dwie grupy – położnice i położne. Dla każdej z grup badanych zastosowano metodę kwestionariuszy. Wyniki były przetwarzane za pomocą programu statystycznego SPSS, wersja 14.0 na podstawie metod matematyczno-statystycznych (obliczenia średniej arytmetycznej, wynik testu zgodności chi-kwadrat, współ- czynnik alfa Cronbacha). Wyniki: Okazało się, że największą uwagę poświęca się w kursach karmieniu piersią, mechanizmowi porodu i poszczególnym fazom porodu. Kursy psychoprofiaktycznego przygotowania do porodu odgrywają ważną rolę w przygotowaniu kobiet w ciąży do porodu w sferze fiycznej, psychicznej i społecznej. Opinie na temat prowadzenia kursu były różne w każdej grupie respondentów – położnice wolą, gdy zajęcia są prowadzone przez lekarza i położną. Wnioski: Zalecamy, aby zsynchronizować wiedzę w treści kształcenia, nie tylko z medycznego aspektu, ale również w aspekcie psychologicznym i społecznym. W aspekcie prawnym polecamy również wprowadzenie obowiązkowych dla każdej kobiety w ciąży usług w zakresie psychoprofiaktycznych kursów przygotowujących do porodu, prowadzonych przez położne z certyfiatem. Proponujemy prawne uregulowanie kursów przygotowania psychofiycznego opłacanych przez fimy ubezpieczeniowe.

    Opis:
    The main aim of the article is the attempt to decide whether the regulations on perinatal palliative care created by the parliamentary majority can justify the absolute ban on embryopathological abortion introduced by the Constitutional Tribunal? Of course, giving a clear answer to such questions is extremely difficult and will always be very subjective. This is why the author does not try to impose his own position on the admissibility/ inadmissibility of abortion for embryopathological reasons but tries to demonstrate that the adopted normative regulations regarding perinatal palliative care, to the extent that they constitute the only permissible option for parents, who receive the most terrible health diagnosis one’s unborn child should be seen in terms of legitimizing extremism.
    Głównym celem artykułu jest próba udzielenia odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy modyfikowane przez większość parlamentarną Sejmu VIII i IX kadencji regulacje dotyczące perinatalnej opieki paliatywnej mogą usprawiedliwiać wprowadzony de facto przez TK bezwzględny zakaz aborcji embriopatologicznej? Oczywiście udzielenie jednoznacznej odpowiedzi na tak sformułowane pytania jest niezwykle trudne i zawsze będzie miało bardzo subiektywny wymiar. Właśnie dlatego autor nie stara się narzucić własnego stanowiska dotyczącego dopuszczalności/niedopuszczalności aborcji z przyczyn embriopatologicznych, lecz próbuje wykazać, że przyjmowane regulacje normatywne dotyczące perinatalnej opieki paliatywnej w takim zakresie, w jakim stanowią jedynie dopuszczalną możliwość dla rodziców, którzy otrzymują najstraszniejszą diagnozę dotyczącą stanu zdrowia swego jeszcze nienarodzonego dziecka należy postrzegać w kategoriach legitymizacji ekstremizmu.
